And yes I'm bloated too though the Ben and Jerrys ice cream can't be helping. I will need to buy some comfier jeans soon I think.

Ariel21 · 28/03/2013 23:52

So much has happened, it's so hard to keep up.

So apart from tiredness, my only symptoms at the moment are the super-massive-sore-boobs. Now with the added bonus of itchy nips! Oh and I'm pulling muscles left right and centre, which is probably a timely reminder that I should be careful...

Sorry to hear about Vix's sad news Sad

Happy to hear so many people are having lovely scans! I'm not even seeing my GP until 18th April (it was the next appointment she had free). I think I'm coming up to 6 weeks.

Husband has told 3 of his friends now, he's just itching to share. I don't mind, but I've told him not to tell anyone else!

honey86 · 28/03/2013 23:55

from wat i remember of slapped cheek its caused by a contagious virus n is risky to preg women or ppl wivout immunity... the downside is its most contagious before the slapped cheek rash appears (apparently) similar to chickenpox... although it rather reckless to choose not to tell anyone about it, and selfish..

as for dd's chickenpox, her spots are scabbing over finally, after nearly a week off school. i should think shed be clear by the end of easter hols Smile and my doc rang me earlier to say my blood test came back saying that i do have immunity to chickenpox... quite a relief that x

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 29/03/2013 00:54

Hi all, TOP TIP! I read earlier someone saying they had shooting pains when they sneezed. Don't know how I worked this out last pregnancy, but pull in your stomach muscles before you sneeze or cough and it doesn't hurt anymore.

Saundy · 29/03/2013 03:31

Urgh can't sleep, am on the couch so I don't disturb DP. Feel so sick & uncomfortable. Sad

harverina · 29/03/2013 03:36

I'm awake too Hmm dd woke up so she is in with dh and I am in dd's cosy bed! I love cuddling her but the temptation of a decent sleep was too much...that's if I can get back to sleep.

Are u ok?

Saundy · 29/03/2013 03:42

Yeah I'm fine just feeling too sicky & painy to sleep. DP has worked 24 out of the last 48 hours so have come down stairs as I knew I was disturbing him (& he's exhausted). I'm just moaning, get to sleep if you can Smile

harverina · 29/03/2013 04:04

Yeah you too. I hate being tired but unable to sleep, it doesn't make sense!

Saundy · 29/03/2013 04:58

Yep. Total. Flipping. Nightmare.

getoffthecoffeetable · 29/03/2013 06:03

honey that's good news about your immunity and your DD getting better. I bet she can't wait to see all her friends again and not be cooped up anymore.
Am 8+6 today and looking decidedly pregnant. I was the same with DS, in maternity jeans by ten weeks. Anyone else the same?

stuffthenonsense · 29/03/2013 06:40

Me getoff. I wore normal clothes yesterday bit the pressure from the waistband made me so sick, that's that, 9 weeks today and declaring a maternity clothes only future.

Fairydogmother · 29/03/2013 07:26

Thanks ladies! Going to tell work ones today but not plaster it on Facebook yet. Funny but I've been bursting to tell everyone and now when it comes to it I want to keep our secret!

Fairydogmother · 29/03/2013 07:30

You're right honey about this slapped cheek. Stupid cow has just lost herself a customer as I'm moving my horse ASAP! Glad your wee one is getting better.

I feel and look the same as normal - only bloat after a big meal but my jeans are fitting the same thank god! I'm too broke to buy anything to wear at the min!

Diege · 29/03/2013 07:34

Congrats to all the scan-ees of yesterday Smile
Honey your post jogged my memory about slapped cheek. Ds2 has it about 4 mths ago and nursery said they don't exclude once diagnosed(basically when rash comes out) as they don't consider it contagious then. It would have been very contagious in the 2 weeks preceding the rash when the usual symptom is simply a runny nose.
10 weeks today, and probably one of the few on here that is still waiting to hear back from mw about booking in Hmm She's has my form for 2 wks now...Not too concerned as has scan appt through automatically after 8wk reassurance scan (that I'm cancelling anyway) but still...
On the subject of scans just to mention that the Fetal Medicine Centre in London is doing an offer whereby if you book a nuchal scan you get the new Harmony test for free (normally £500). Harmony is a pretty good alternative to amnio/cvs as it detects over 99% of chromosome problems from a maternal blood test. Having it myself on Wednesday. I'm mentioning it now as you need to be between 10 weeks and 10 weeks and 6 days to have it under the offer.

Another one here going to have to go over the maternity clothes...I have resisted but will have to put the favourite skinny jeans away...I have a challenge for you all - can anyone locate an over-the-bump pair of skinny jeans???Impossible!!!

TiredFeet · 29/03/2013 07:59

honey that is good news about the chicken pox

My tip for those busting out of their jeans - if you can't face buying pregnancy jeans yet, last time I used a hair bobble over the button and through the whole, to extend normal jeans slightly for those first weeks (and then a long top or a bump band obviously)

Same with bra's, bra extenders cost a couple of pounds and mean you don't need to buy as many new ones!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 29/03/2013 08:11

tiredfeet that's a good tip with bobble to get a bit more life out of jeans. I did it when pregnant last time and stayed in none mat jeans till 20 weeks. I don't think I'll be so lucky this time round.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 29/03/2013 08:13

honey are you the one with the Doppler? Any luck finding a heart beat yet? I've just bought one from Amazon really hoping to hear something at 10 weeks.

Dizzy81 · 29/03/2013 08:36

Morning all,
Hope you're all feeling ok? Fell asleepon the sofa at 9.30 last night woke up at seven ans am still tired! The boobs feel like bags of sand too.

I'm going to invest in some bra extenders and those bump expander things. As I'm over 6ft I'm going to have to invest in dresses, dresses and a few more dresses. One place I buy my clothes from want 70 for a pair of maternity jeans!!! I just hope the feet don't get any wider as I'm already a size 9,

Fairydogmother · 29/03/2013 09:15

i thought i saw over the bump skinny jeans on mamas and papas website?!

but i could be wrong!

Diege · 29/03/2013 09:16

Ooh thanks fairy I'll check that out!

Slippysnow · 29/03/2013 09:18

diege new look, Asos and next do maternity skinny jeans. Depending on your budget :)

Diege · 29/03/2013 09:26

Thanks slippy Smile. My first thought was ASOS but as with most places the fashiony types of jeans tend to be under the bump. I def need over as am very straight up and down hip-wise and have forever been tugging then damn things up in previous pregnancies...
Anyways...the mamas and papas denim jeggings seem to be ticking all the boxes - some good sale bargains too if you shop before monday!

harverina · 29/03/2013 09:45

I didn't need maternity trousers until 18 weeks last time with no extenders! How was that possible?! Will try the hair and trick - glad its not just me feeling the trouser band pressure!

harverina · 29/03/2013 09:46

Maybe even 20 weeks!!
