Saundy - I'm defo doing Glasto at 5ish months, but in a campervan. My friend is doing it in a tent at 7.5 months!! I won't be working it though, so it's a completely different scenario. I'll also pay the extra £5 on my ticket for insurance in case there are any complications that mean I can't attend.

Vix - hope you're ok

Harv - good luck with the scan later

Williamini - that's fantastic news - congrats :-)

I had my private scan this morning too - all is ok. I feel I can finally relax. The lady said a bleed is actually very normal, and probably old blood, but they don't tell you that to ensure they don't miss MCs. Baby measured 2.18cm, and they estimated him as 3 days older than my EDD says. My symptoms are still completely missing but I'm much less worried about that now. They should definitely offer an early scan to everyone on the NHS!

We're now away for the weekend in the campervan - not sure how I will cope without access to this thread! Have a good one everyone.

wonderful news williamina what an enormous relief for you Smile

I can't bear to watch the OBEM, my friend's baby died the day after DS was born, she was only 5 days old. we had gone through our pregnancies together, it was so sooo awful and I felt so helpless, I still think of her little girl a lot. I am in awe of my friend for being able to see me at all, and I think it is an enormous credit to her that we have somehow remained close. I am not sure I could bear it if I were her. I think it is amazing that the couple from OBEM have agreed for it to be shown though, it is important people are aware and there becomes less stigma attached, my friend found lots of people couldn't work out how to be around her and just avoided her Sad. also hopefully it will raise lots of money for research into the little baby's condition.

on a lighter note, DS decided to demonstrate to me and DH how he was born yesterday evening. He hid inside my dressing gown and then 'popped out' and then he had a quick hug and then pretended to 'eat lunch'. lets hope all our births are that straightforward Grin

lots of best wishes for the scan haverina

berrybomb · 28/03/2013 13:42

PS - we keep calling it 'him' - no idea why, it's just what we're picturing!

Fairydogmother · 28/03/2013 13:47

fantastic news berrybomb enjoy your weekend!

i'm counting the 1 hour and 13 mins until i can leave work and then watching the clock until 19.30 and my scan!

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/03/2013 13:57

Berry bomb that's lovely news. Have a great holiday.

Have to say, DH put OBEM on for about five minutes yesterday and I made him turn it off, I couldn't bear to watch it. Those poor parents.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 28/03/2013 13:59

berrybomb it's perfectly normal. I keep calling mine 'her', and picturing a baby in pink babygros.

I'm really struggling to stay focussed at work now. It's 3 hours to the long weekend! I'm doing the sums in my head, and it's only 25 weeks to when I want to take maternity leave. It sounds nicer in weeks then in days or months - 175 days sounds like ages away, and same with half a year. I know I'm being illogical. And I should stop thinking this kind of thing until after the 12 week scan.

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/03/2013 14:09

Good luck with your scan fairy, hope everything goes well

MummaPanda · 28/03/2013 14:12

Argh dd didn't sleep good at all last night and now she's been super clingy all day. I wouldn't mind but I've got soo much housework to do. Dh is having all his guy friends over tomorrow to play fifa (yaay for me) Envy

ilovemiltonismybestfriend · 28/03/2013 14:51

Ok... I have symptoms!!! Crazy nausea all the times I'm not eating!!! I was doing so well...

On the plus side I have discovered ikea crisps!!! And they are lush.

Fairydogmother · 28/03/2013 14:56

and i've just realised you all over there get tomorrow off! we get monday and tuesday so i'm stuck in here all day Sad

harverina · 28/03/2013 15:03

Had a very quick scan and baby is where it should be with a heartbeat Grin delighted! It was the quickest scan ever, literally seconds as they were very busy. No pics or measurements taken but estimated as 8 ish weeks which is spot on according to my dates. Was told bleeding would not be a huge surprise given i have pain but if I do have any bleeding I should call and they will scan again.

Berry bomb great news Grin

Heading back to work now but dh has just told me he is taking the rest of he say off Angry lucky him! I am so sleepy I suggested parking the car and going for a snooze haha!!

berrybomb · 28/03/2013 15:24

Great news harverina - so happy for you. It's great they'll scan again if needs be.

Our campervan won't start, so I have a rather grumpy DP! He's out 'tinkering'. Uh oh.

TiredFeet · 28/03/2013 15:27

Wonderful news haverina what a relief!

CheeseandGherkins · 28/03/2013 16:37

Brilliant news harv, williamina and berry so pleased your scans went well.

I've been feeling crampy yesterday and today so I don't know what's going on. No bleeding so I will have to see how things go. Had a hot water bottle last night to help.

This still feels so surreal even though we've seen a heartbeat. Think I'm in denial.

Fairydogmother · 28/03/2013 17:03

Fab harverina! 2 hours 26 mins until mine eek

theboob · 28/03/2013 17:42

willamina fantastic news ! x

Midwife appointment today and of course she dated me at 15 weeks , palpated my stomach and said same but could be my bowel haha, got the dopler out but no heartbeat found easily sooooooo emergency scan sent off so just waiting now , I think I'm about 6 weeks and the sickness has started and is horrific

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 28/03/2013 17:57

williamina berry & hav so pleased your scans all went well.

Shattered today so had a 2 hour midday sleep. Dreading going back to work next week as I am sure it will bring on the fatigue again.

Theicingontop · 28/03/2013 18:08

I want jammy dodgers dunked in tea. And jaffa cakes. All I have are hobnobs Envy

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/03/2013 18:15

Brilliant news harv you must be so relieved.
theboob excellent news that the heartbeat is good and strong.
Am just hoping midwife doesn't cancel on my again. Not a good start!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 28/03/2013 18:19

the boob 15 weeks? Best of luck with scan

fairy lots of luck heading your way for the scan too. It feels like a real good news day today. I love it.

theboob · 28/03/2013 18:21

thanks getoff , she never found the heartbeat though , I'm not worried though and I feel flutters still

OneLittleToddleTerror · 28/03/2013 18:50

theboob I won't be worried either, as you say, you think you are only 6 weeks. The scan would let them work out the real gestation, and it's a bonus for you, if anything.

retroelle · 28/03/2013 18:52

I can add myself to the list of positive scans today :) 7+3 with a good heartbeat.
