Vix massive hugs to you

Harverina I think the reluctance to scan is because its not without risks and at this stage the babies are pretty vulnerable.

I am slowly slowly beginning to nightwean the baby so currently if I am in bed at 8(as is my new normal) I get the bed to myself for three hours before he comes in, DH is on duty for those few hours, we are increasing that time by 30mins a week with a plan that he will be in his own cot by June and maybe own room by September. It's very sad. I love bed sharing but I know pregnancy will seriously affect his sleep as peeing, heartburn and restless leg syndrome kick in. I would never even entertain cc/cio in the grand scheme of life it's such a tiny time and they soon will push you away no matter how many times you ask for cuddles.

Saundy · 27/03/2013 07:07

Enjoy your midwife appts today Getoff, Harve & Surprise! I hope they dust off the dopplers for you & you hear lovely heartbeats, though its possibly a bit early fir that.

Glad it was good news for you too Cheese

I've been awake since 3 but am about ready to give up on sleep. Absolutely shattered but too achey to get comfortable. Poor DP has just gone to work looking exhausted. Oops.

Have really struggled to eat or drink the last couple of days, everything seems to taste funny & nothing appeals at all. Has anyone else got that?

Alexandra6 · 27/03/2013 07:14

slippy and poppy hi clomid buddies! Wink slippy, no they only spotted one follie for me so, as far as I know, no multiple birth risk which I'm pleased about as I have had lletz treatment on my cervix and have an arcuate uterus (heart shaped). Keep me posted on yours! How would you feel about having more than one if it did happen?

What's amazing is there was no follie on CD 8, small one on CD 13 and I was getting disappointed but then it kept growing and was mature, late, by day 18-and popped on day 20! I didn't know if there were more risks from ovulating yet but, touch wood, it's fine.

Clomid is brilliant isn't it, never thought I'd be here and really want to stay!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 27/03/2013 07:42

I don't know what I would have done without my dh recently (not got pregnant? Grin).

My brain appears to have taken a leave of abscence. I'm eating for two he's thinking for two.

SpanishLady · 27/03/2013 08:17

Vix - im sorry too and wish you the very best.

vix206 · 27/03/2013 08:22

Waiting for a call from duty doctor. I rang at 8 and was told there were no appointments whatsoever today but that a dr would 'try to call me today'. This is AFTER I tell them I think I'm miscarrying. Seriously peed off with the care (lack of) I've received so far Hmm

JBrd · 27/03/2013 08:29

Vix I feel for you, my GP is like that - you have to call at 8 for a same day appointment, problem is that by 8.10am, all the appointments are usually gone. Really not what you need right now! Do you have any walk-in medical centres in your area that you could go to? Or instead of the EPU, try and ring the hospital midwife team?
I guess, if it comes to the worst, there is always A&E, but that really is a last resort.
So sorry this is happening to you, life is so cruel Flowers

Saundy · 27/03/2013 08:53

I usually find its best to call & say I've been told I need an emergency appointment - I always get one when I say that. If they question who by you can always say NHS Direct or the local drop in. Don't let them fobb you off, if its been an hour & they still haven't called you then call them back. Will be thinking of you. xx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 27/03/2013 09:22

MummaPanda I'm watching bedtime live too. But DD actually sleeps really well - 6:30 bath, 7pm bed, and wakes up anywhere between 5-6am. So she's sleeping the 11 hours recommended by the show. Only problem is I couldn't keep her up at night so she keeps waking up that early. She's at nursery full time so she is always quite sleepy afterwards. Maybe they'll cover an early riser one day!

berrybomb · 27/03/2013 09:44

Vix - that's awful, I thought they had to have a certain number of appointments available each day. Try another avenue.

Since I had that bleed a couple of days ago I just havent 'felt' pregnant, and all my symptoms have completely disappeared (sore boobs, nausea etc). I did a test this morning and it's gone back to being really really faint :-(. I've booked a docs appointment at 11, so hopefully he'll be able to tell me one way or another. I've got a bad feeling though.

vix206 · 27/03/2013 09:53

Berry I'm so sorry Hmm

Gp rang. Said same as midwife. May be miscarrying, may not. Before 7 weeks they won't scan. Wants me to do another test on Tuesday and until then bed rest as much as possible. So we wait. It's my birthday on Sunday ConfusedConfusedHmm

Lozcat86 · 27/03/2013 09:55

fingers crossed for you berrybomb x

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 09:56

vix I'm so sorry for all this trauma you're having. If you feel up to it demand proper medical attention as I think what they're doing to you is a disgrace. I find its better to just tell them what you want rather than ask - its your health and your baby at stake here. Hugs to you x

I am absolutely full of the cold and a raging chest infection. I coughed so badly last night I was repeatedly sick and my whole body feels like I've been beaten up. I rang in and took a day off (again!) work as I can't manage it

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 09:56

Fingers xd berrybomb x

getoffthecoffeetable · 27/03/2013 10:06

vix have you tried going through NHS Direct? They should be able to sort out an appointment for you. So sorry that you're receiving such poor care when you're so vulnerable.

berry keeping fingers crossed for you. My symptoms have gone today if it makes you feel any better?

Am gutted - the midwife has phoned and cancelled my booking in appointment as someone on her team has called in sick and she has to cover for them. She's going to come on the afternoon of Easter Sunday instead. I just want to get booked in for a scan!!! Am too impatient to see the bean!

vix206 · 27/03/2013 10:11

I'm 'happy' with what the GP told me so I will follow his advice. He said a scan at his point wouldn't offer any reassurance and the best place for me is resting in bed not dragging myself to the hospital.
I am totally numb to be honest, this is a terrible situation.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 27/03/2013 10:12

vix are you in a birth hotspot? I remember seeing the report earlier this year

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-21120593

And I had a light bulb moment realising why my NHS care was so rubbish compared to what I see here on MN.

I know we shouldn't be suffering just because of that. It really makes me angry. Be brave.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 27/03/2013 10:14

In 'rubbish' I mean some people here are getting a lot more scans, checks, midwife appointments compared to me. Or the care they get at birth.

I sort of agree with your GP that they cannot do anything at this stage. And tbh even at a later stage. The scan is mainly for your reassurance, and if you feel the best is stay at home and rest, then it's your choice too. I wouldn't drag myself to A&E again after what I've gone through last time.

berrybomb · 27/03/2013 10:14

Oh Vix that's awful - especially over your birthday :-(

Thanks guys - getoff, that does actually help, thanks :-). I'll let you know how I get on.

I look back at naive me a couple of months ago, when I thought pregnancy would be a doddle. Not so much!!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 27/03/2013 10:21

berrybomb then you need to watch bedtime live to prepare yourself with young child and sleep Wink

vix206 · 27/03/2013 10:25

Ha! Onetoddleterror I'm in Kettering which is just down the road from Corby! Shock

OneLittleToddleTerror · 27/03/2013 10:33

vix that would explain why your GP cannot refer you to the EPU, while williamina is getting bi-weekly scans Sad

vix206 · 27/03/2013 10:38

How are you doing williamina? X

vix206 · 27/03/2013 10:39

It's good info to know, didn't know I was in a hotspot Confused
