Oh vix I know this doesn't help at all, but I'm wishing you so much luck. My friend paid for a private scan for £75 so I don't know if that's an option. Really sorry you're going through this x

Animol · 27/03/2013 10:40

Oh vix - big hugs - so sorry about what you're going through.

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 10:53

Berrybomb my symptoms seem to have disappeared too but I'm not well so thought maybe I hadn't noticed in the midst of nose blowing etc!

harverina · 27/03/2013 10:59

My symptoms are not as obvious either. I was thinking it might just be a natural progression?

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 11:03

Are we ever going to NOT worry lol?!

harverina · 27/03/2013 11:05

No we worry if we have symptoms and worry I we don't!!!! Shock

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 11:13

I'm just counting the minutes to my scan tomorrow evening - super nervous and excited all at the same time

Alexandra6 · 27/03/2013 11:26

I'm five weeks and don't seem to have any symptoms really this week - how far are you harverina, fairy etc? Been told it doesn't mean anything not to have symptoms but I just feel worryingly 'normal'!

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 11:30

I'm 7+5 Alex

I have mostly felt alright until I got this stinking cold!

berrybomb · 27/03/2013 11:42

Hi ladies, thanks for all your support.

onetoddler - haha - I think I'm also hopelessly naive about this too and convinced I'll find bedtime a doddle!! Oh dear, I'm in for a big eye opener!!

The doctors visit was pointless - she just said there's nothing I can do but wait. She ignored my concerns about losing symptoms and very faint pg test line, and said the only thing she can go on is the bleed and its not enough to warrant a scan or anything. I mentioned my previous MC, but she said 1 in 4 pregnancies end in MC so that was irrelevant too.

I've booked a private scan for tomorrow morning. £75 I could do without spending, but can't just wait!

Fairydogmother · 27/03/2013 11:44

Berry that's crap for you. Really hope the scan puts your mind at rest

Vocalista86 · 27/03/2013 11:47

Fairy how many weeks are you - are you having a private scan? Mine is booked in for just before 9 weeks (feels so long to wait).

I am having a fairly symptomless day and I was going to come on here and ask if anyone else was experiencing it and lo and behold it's already been mentioned!

Vix I'm really surprised that you aren't being seen - I know you're not sure what's happening and so it might not be, but when I was having my misscarriage I was told I had to be in hospital in case you lose too much blood. If you feel faint at all you should go to A&E. I thought it was silly and that I'd rather be at home but within an hour of being admitted I had fainted on the floor after trying to go to the loo and ended up having stiches in my chin - so that taught me.

I'm certainly having a wobble day today wondering if all is well with the little bean and get so pleased when I get a bit of nausea - even though I'm only 4weeks 4 days.

I'm finding this really really hard this time around! Sad Stressed mum to be !

JBrd · 27/03/2013 11:47

Alexandra6 I'm 5+4 and have no symptoms! At least nothing that couldn't be explained by something else, e.g. I seem to be hungry more often (but that's not really unusual, as I'm trying to watch how much I eat...), my nose appears to be blocked (no suprise, really, given that it's still winter and the next cold is lurking around the corner), I feel dizzy sometimes (but I always suffer from low blood pressure).
I really don't want ms again, but it's very early days, so anything is still possible.

getoffthecoffeetable · 27/03/2013 11:51

I'm 8+3 and symptoms have gone today, trying not to be paranoid!

berrybomb · 27/03/2013 12:01

I'm 8+2 today, symptoms disappeared yesterday. It's such a relief to read others have the same lack of symptoms.

GinSling82 · 27/03/2013 12:05

Hey ladies, coming on to MN for my daily fix! Should have an iphone sorted in about a week so will be back to having more than one daily fix! Blush.

I'm really sorry to hear that the worry and stress continues for you vix and that you have fresh worry berry. It must be so hard not knowing what's going on. Like vocalist said, I thought that most units are worried about heavy blood loss and like to at least examine and consider admitting you, even if they don't offer a scan immediately. Also there is something call cervical shock that causes fainting and heavy blood loss but I think that is usually after 8 weeks which might be why the GP said they will only see you at the EPAU after 7 weeks. I still think its due to a postcode lottery though. Some places will give you a scan for bleeding whatever the gestation and others make you tough it out.

Fairy we are having a scan on the same day! Mine is at 18.30 tomorrow. I have the day off work but I have booked a hair appointment so that I don't spend the whole day sat at home thinking about the scan. Its exciting but quite nerve-racking isn't it?

Saundry I will definitely let you know what we can see. Although your DH's Mr Hankey comment keeps going round my head! Grin Had to tell my DH that one and he thought it was hilarious too - hope I haven't given him any ideas. But I think you said that was a scan at about 6weeks - so hoping to see a bit more.

In terms of random pg symptoms, I have never been able to grow my nails, they always break super easily and now suddenly I have these gorgeous long nails! Quite a novelty!

Alexandra6 · 27/03/2013 12:07

Argh just realised my nose isn't blocked anymore jbrd! Hard not to read into everything isn't it. My friend who's preggers (due July) says symptoms come and go but it is hard not to stress. vacalista I'm just a couple of days further along than you, my first BFP after waiting ages so another stressed mum to be Smile

theboob · 27/03/2013 12:08

thinking of you both berry and vix x

My symptoms started to vanish last week BUT I have started to have nausea day and night , only eases if I sit still .
I hate feeling sick and I start placement on the 8th so don't know how I will cope with open wounds and body fluids .......dreading it

BenthamFriday · 27/03/2013 12:13

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie in every sense - new to Mumsnet, and new to pregnancy, (am 6+5) but it's so nice to see there are others out there! Waves

I am similarly confused by every symptom - and non-symptom - what does it all mean?! Am trying to be relaxed about it all, but it's easier said than done.

Really hoping that things work out for you vix - I think we have the same EDD and I have all fingers and toes crossed for you and berry too.

Slippysnow · 27/03/2013 12:16

alex I'd be over the moon with twins, I think anything that I'm given is a blessing and is meant to be. It will be hard work, and expensive but its the cost of choosing to have a family!

In fact I have just done a quick list of costs to work out a budget without shopping too much for bargains. This includes: Cot/linen, moses basket/linen, travel system, basic clothes, bath/products, towels, changing mat, breast pump, bottles and even things like a thermometer etc etc . Ranging across shops including John Lewis, argos, amazon, m&s, mothercare and kiddicare.

Excluding any formula and mountains of nappies (just 1 box of 50)
Total was......£1460 this could go up or down but it wasn't that bad to be honest. what do you guys think?

Vocalista86 · 27/03/2013 12:26

Hi Bentham, welcome to our thread and congratulations on your BFP.

Slippy I am forbidding myself to plan any further down the line than the 12 week scan, I am ultra cautious but well done for beginning the planning/costs process, you will be more prepared than me!

Slippysnow · 27/03/2013 12:29

vocalista I know what you mean, I'm disciplining myself and not buying anything pre scan, window shopping is a sweet release and setting myself a saving goal will do me some good and also make me panic less. I've just finished a degree, so I have a lot of spare time and little spare cash :) I won't be looking at the list for a while now I know how much it costs

SpanishLady · 27/03/2013 12:36

afternoon - I really wish we could magic our fears away - unfortunately we are just stuck in 1st trimester hell - waiting, waiting but it will end! Till then we'll probably just continue worrying ahout every single thing - I had sharp cramps last night and was worried but only lasted a few minutes and fine since but still....Im 7+6 today and trying to ignore that on Tuesday I'll reach the point in which I MC'd my last pregnancy ):

FX for vix and Berry

Slippy - we were lucky with our first as our parents were able to help us out (my parents bought the cot (about GBP 300), my father in law the pram (about GBP 400) - I got alot of toys, highchair etc from my sister who had just finished with them from her youngest so our biggest expense was decorating the nursery - we spent about GBP 1,000 on that but it was because we needed to have the walls re-plastered and we replaced the carpet with wooden flooring. Im going to use the same pram and cot again and will be moving our son into another room and into a single bed so again I think our biggest expense will be decorating costs.

Best buys were definitely the bath seat (from Mothercare), grobags (takes all the stress out of worrying they will slip under the covers, get too cold/hot and we invested in a video baby cam so we can see him on the screen if he stirs without having to go into the room.

GinSling82 · 27/03/2013 12:37

Wow slippsy that's really organised! Being a newbie to pg I have no idea what I even need to buy?! Confused I was hoping websites like MN might have a handy list of essentials or I knew I would end up floundering around mothercare buying random things. Aren't prams/buggies super expensive though, whenever I walk past shops they seems to be like 300-400. I might check out ebay for things like that - don't know if that's safe or not?

BenthamFriday · 27/03/2013 12:44

Thanks, vocalista - and congratulations to you too.

Hi GinSling - I also don't have a clue as to what I'll need to buy, but I did find this list, which I thought was quite helpful: www.babycentre.co.uk/a559809/buying-for-baby-what-you-really-need

I'll start shopping at 12 weeks - too scared before then!
