OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JBrd · 26/03/2013 14:42

Stuff Which prenatal vits are you taking?!? I take the Sanatogen mum-to-be, and they only contain 90mg/tablet. Pregnacare containts 70mg/tablet, so all well below the risky amount. Are you taking extra Vit C on top of your prenatal, and why?
All necessary vitamins are in the prenatal tablets, and unless recommended by your GP, I wouldn't take any more supplements. You'll also get vitamins from your food.

Vix Even if you miscarry, a pg test would still come up positive, if you test tomorrow. It can take over 2 weeks for the hormones to get out of your system. Can you call the EPU directly? I never went through my GP or midwife when I miscarried, they EPU were happy to see me without a referral.

vix206 · 26/03/2013 14:42

Congratulations Dizzy

vix206 · 26/03/2013 14:44

My EPU insist gp refers. Thanks for the info on tests, I know sometimes hormones show up for weeks but also have friends who have had negative tests within days. It's all I have at the moment unfortunately Hmm

Saundy · 26/03/2013 14:46

Brilliant news Stuff you must be so relieved to say the least! Are you still going to take your prenatal vits? I've been taking mine, is everyone else having them too?

That's great news for you too Berry lets hope it stays that way!!

You're a day ahead of me dates wise Gin so I'll be quite interested to hear what you could see in the scan. I think there's a few of us early thirties first timers here.

Actually is yours the same as me Dizzy 8/11/13? If it is its insane to think that in the 2 weeks since I had mine there could be so much change that you can actually see a face!! I'm really pleased for you.

I'm also having a pretty good day - the constant pain has stopped!!! Yessa! It just comes and goes now which is a HUGE improvement as I get some relief. Though odd, as i always felt like there was something going on there even though it was painful and now I don't. But still its a good thing I'm sure Smile

I know what you mean about the race to the finish line Will this thread is amazing for support but it also slightly freaks me out too sometimes & makes me feel like I'm playing a numbers game (the abdomen pains not helping with that).

OneLittleToddleTerror · 26/03/2013 14:50

vix I had a negative test on the day after I started really really bleeding. The last positive test at that point was a week before. Maybe the level of hog present is linked to how many weeks you are pregnant too?

berrybomb · 26/03/2013 14:55

Vix - my GP also said I wasn't bleeding 'enough' to warrant an early scan, although mine was less than yours. She did send me for blood tests though (and I guess if there's more bleeding they will do a comparison one in a few days? - or maybe it's just to check the hcg matches me at 8 weeks pg.)

Thanks Saundy. Glad you're getting some relief from the pain, even if temporarily!!

Animol · 26/03/2013 14:57

Dear vix and stuff - all the very best - I miscarried about 10 years ago and lost a twin about 8 years ago - both at about 7 weeks - both times I had really heavy bleeding like a very heavy period - hope you're both ok.

Minesahotchocolate · 26/03/2013 15:03

Wow, it all changes so quickly. Williamina and Vix - am keeping my fingers crossed for you that it all works out. The situation sounds beyond stressful. Take good care of yourselves.

notsoold · 26/03/2013 15:08

Vix.....it is torture as you said and the unknown is very difficult to deal with.....xxxx

Talking about ages I am 41 and will be 42 at edd....
My daughter came to visit today and even though I am off colour, and a round tummy ( bloated) she did not guess at all.....I bet she reckons that parents don't have sex at all...lol

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 15:20

Fab news dizzy

Fingers xd for everyone having a few probs - no more bad news on this thread!

Just back from the endocrinologist and I've to see her every 6 weeks. I'll be consultant led because of my thyroid but don't really know what that means as my booking in isn't until April!

She was v nice so just waiting on today's blood results

Vocalista86 · 26/03/2013 15:24

Hi ladies,

last time I checked this threat we were on about 6 pages!

Have added myself on to the DD list and I am 27 now and will still be by DD.

Have also started the ball rolling about booking an 8 week private scan, which will hopefully break up this slow first few weeks and will rule out a missed misscariiage at 7 weeks like last time and I had to wait until 13 weeks to find out! I'd rather know.

The orevious pregnancy was a surprise so although it's very much planned this time so we are more relaxed in that sense, it's harded following the recent MC.

Fingers cross for those currently anxious about bleeding.

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 15:30

Aw there's 5 of us on 1st babies for the same EDD!

Saundy · 26/03/2013 15:34

I just saw that too & I think we're knockin around the same age too, though maybe not as my memory isn't what it was & it wasn't great to begin with!! Smile

harverina · 26/03/2013 15:36

Great news stuff that must have been amazing to hear :)

Vix, Id be inclined to call my GP and demand a referral to EPU. Its terrible that there are different responses depending on where you live. I cant imagine how worried you must be right now. Not knowing whats happening must be terrible. I know we all have a sense of not knowing whats going on, but when you are bleeding the heightened anxiety must be awful. Dont be afraid to push for the care that you deserve.

I have been sitting working on my uni work today and have done hardly anything. I feel like I dont know what I am doing :( wish I could just bloody drop out!

8+3 today. Midwife tomorrow too so will hopefully start to feel a bit more real after that. I am still getting niggly pains on one side. Will mention it at my appointment but feel that they probably are just normal.

theboob · 26/03/2013 15:43

Harverina don't give up ! I felt like that a few weeks ago doing my dissertation , I will be taking 6 months out of my degree with only 4 weeks that will be left on the course , this way I get maternity pay
thinking of those that are bleeding , fx for you xx

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 15:59

Vix I def agree with Harv about pushing for medical care tho I know it's hard

I had to ring the consultants secretary as the appt office wouldn't give me a date for 6 weeks and I was to be seen urgently!

stuffthenonsense · 26/03/2013 16:25

I was takin g extras to supplement being pregnant and breastfeeding 2 but I am just going to stick to my prenatal now.
I am in the 'oldies' group too at 40.
It's blinking freezing brrr

MummaPanda · 26/03/2013 16:46

Feeling positively rubbish Sad think I must be getting a coldy fluey thing, I've spent the whole day curled up on the sofa wrapped up in my dressing gown. Also have a really sore stomach, anyone else have this?? Not sure if I should be worried or not.
Haven't heard back from cheese after her scan, hope everything is ok

OP posts:
williaminajetfighter · 26/03/2013 16:52

vix I managed to get an appointment through my GP for a scan on Thursday at the EPU. I told her my symptoms and that I think it necessitated a scan and I was probably pushy/barky enough that she caved in. Perhaps you can give that a shot?

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 17:04

Mumma I'm also dying of a cold and chest infection. No idea how I can cope with work tomorrow Sad

My OH has gone to sort my horse out as I just can't manage it

CheeseandGherkins · 26/03/2013 17:23

Quick post. Scan went well, only 1 baby but we saw the heartbeat which was reassuring, so thankful. 6+3 so puts me at nov 16th but they will give me a firm date at 12 week scan.

I know anything can happen all the way through so I'll never be complacent but for now all is well and I am happy with that.

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 17:27

Aww that's good cheese

vix206 · 26/03/2013 17:41

I'm very heavily bleeding now so pretty much given up all hope. Might be defence mechanism but its a relief in a way because the not knowing was torture. I feel bad for keep posting on here as I know it's worrying for others, thank you so much for your support and I wish you all healthy happy pregnancies.

We will try again soon, and in the meantime I'm focussing on my precious DS. Xxx

Saundy · 26/03/2013 17:45

So sorry Vix take care xx
