Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DS has gone with my dad so now I'm going to bed. DH has calmed me down. I can't stand not knowing what's going in but the sad fact is, this is a waiting game. Even if I go for a scan and see a heartbeat, I could still be losing the baby so really it's pointless. I think I just need to rest up and let nature take its course. I will do another test tomorrow and until then keep an open mind until or unless it all 'kicks off'.

Local EPU won't take you without referral and my midwife still insists that without pain or heavy blood loss they will not consider me. Frustrating as others seem to be being seen, but as I've said above it probably wouldn't offer me much in the way of reassurance anyway. If I get through this still pregnant I am going to be soooo scared until the baby is born Confused

OneLittleToddleTerror · 26/03/2013 10:09

vix you are so right it's basically just a waiting game. They can't do much in the EPU anyway. I'm glad your son is being looked after and you could take a rest today.

Lozcat86 · 26/03/2013 10:13

keeping everything crossed for you Vix and William, Flowers

we can be age/date buddies Grin

Woke up with some fairly heavy cramping this morning, no spotting/bleeding as yet so fingers crossed its all ok Confused

Lozcat86 · 26/03/2013 10:13

sorry meant to say I love milton - we can be age/date buddies...

SpanishLady · 26/03/2013 10:20

Vix - I'd call the doctor if I was you, I know it can be different depending where you live (im in Hertfordshire) - when I had spotting I called my doctor who arrange a scan for me at the EPU for the next day - at that point I only had light brown spotting so per my experience (and it is only my experience of course) I dont think you have to be in great pain and really bleeding and I didnt go to EPU via the midwife. Just a thought.

harverina · 26/03/2013 10:24

Vix and williamina thinking of you both and hoping that everything is ok.

My symptoms have calmed right down over past couple of days. Not asynchronous nausea just a very slight sicky feeling occasionally. My boobs also are not as painful. I'm still tired but not so tired as I was. Hopefully this will continue!

Just went to the butcher and treated myself to sausages. Have been craving them since Sunday and they were delicious!

Hope everyone is well - got those of you with scans hope that everything is ok.

berrybomb · 26/03/2013 10:29

Vix, Williamina and stuff, thinking of you all - fingers crossed.

Fairydogmother · 26/03/2013 11:29

vix206 · 26/03/2013 12:33

Any scan news yet? I'd love to hear some good news Smile

stuffthenonsense · 26/03/2013 12:44

How are things now William and vix?

harverina · 26/03/2013 12:45

Hey vix are you ok?

Saundy · 26/03/2013 12:45

Have you had your MW appt Stuff? How did it go?

williaminajetfighter · 26/03/2013 13:01

still bleeding here, doctor calling to see if I can get a scan today, things feeling a bit grim. This thread is like a race to the finish isn't it?

GinSling82 · 26/03/2013 13:13

Hello ladies! Well its taken me about an hour to try to get up to date with this thread!! I had my iphone stolen last week and I'm rarely actually in front of a computer so makes it difficult to keep a pace, especially as you are all so chatty Smile

vix, william & Stuff I'm really sorry you are having bleeding, this must be a very anxious time for you. I'm really wishing and hoping that everything works out fine. Like others have said bleeding in early pregnancy can be very common. vix your midwife sounds unreasonable, I have experience in this area and usually bleeding means you can get an appointment at EPAU with a scan. I'd call your GP and see what they say I'm sure (unless its a postcode lottery thing) that you should be seen.

Welcome and congrats to the newbies jen, Partula & RM17

jen I got my midwife booking appointment in the post for 15th April when I'll be 10 weeks, I worried about not getting a scan date too, thought they might not fit me in if I waited for that booking appointment to then arrange it. But the GP asked me to go in and see their healthcare assistant - almost didn't bother as thought it was just to tell me what to eat/not eat etc. But she gave me the form to book my appointment for scan, so maybe will be the same for you. You could always call your GP and check just to make sure they haven't forgotten.

I'm 7+5 today, I've got my private scan booked for Thursday evening when I'll be 8 weeks. I literally feel like I'm counting the seconds, really want to see a heartbeat and hopefully have some reassurance. I never thought these early weeks would be so anxious. Thought I'd just walk around on cloud 9 but instead I feel tired, slightly nauseous, and check myself for blood everytime I go to the loo Blush.

While we are sharing ages I'm 30 and will be 31 in just a few weeks so 31 for EDD. As its first baby I guess I'm on the older side for that, but middle of the road for the thread. Smile

vix206 · 26/03/2013 13:23

I'm still here. I feel crampy but hard to know if its uterus or IBS as that always flares up when I'm worried. No more bleeding yet since this morning. Not fun at all.

Part of me wants a scan but the other part of me wants to stay wrapped up safe in my duvet at home and not have to face anyone.

I'm going to take a test tomorrow (unless I really feel I have miscarried before then) and if it still says 3+ I will probably call the doctors to push for a scan. I suppose I just wish my body would get on with it if its going to. Hmm

My midwife has been. She was very reassuring and she tentatively suggested Doppler knowing that its hard to pick anything up before 16 weeks so at 8+4 it was unlikely. Anyway, good strong heartbeat!!! So relieved. Thank you to everyone for your support.

vix206 · 26/03/2013 13:40

Wow stuff! That's fab news Grin

vix206 · 26/03/2013 13:43

Stuff do you mind me asking how long you've been bleeding for? I've been bleeding for 4 days now. Usually only one proper bleed per day, maybe a teaspoon worth. The rest of the time just old brown blood.

My midwife still thinks it could be all ok but my god this is just torture. Confused

Dizzy81 · 26/03/2013 14:11

Hi all,

Good news - I am exactly spot on with my dates and the jelly beans heart was there! Told my parents they are going to be grandparents - mum was over the moon and my dads reaction was just well ok. I have sworn them to secrecy though.

Treying to get in touch with the in laws is proving to be difficult at the moment.

Feel much more relaxed now I know jellybean is ok. Got to see it's face too - uit looked like something you';d find in area 51!!!

stuffthenonsense · 26/03/2013 14:15

Vix it started on Thursday. Not loads but obvious ranging from light pink and watery through frighteningly red to brown.

SpanishLady · 26/03/2013 14:16

Ginsling82 - Im at the same stage as you - please do let us know about your scan on Thursday as I would be very interested to know what you could see etc (know of course babies develop at different rates etc) but I woudl be incredibly interested!

Good luck btw

vix206 · 26/03/2013 14:16

Ah. Mine started brown and remains brown with the occasional horror of very thick red blood. Sounds different to yours. I'm so glad you heard the heartbeat x

stuffthenonsense · 26/03/2013 14:21

My midwife also told me to drop the additional vitamin c I've been taking as it can cause problems, she's going to send me a link but I started googling it and apparently high levels of vitc (2000 and above...I've been taking 2000+whatever's in my prenatal) are a known home abortion method!!!!! So, I am throwing away the vitamin c and am suggesting you all do too.
