RMJ17 - I don't know how many weeks preg you are, but with my first preg I had a scan around the 6 week mark and couldn't see anything apart from the yolk sac. No heart beat. The Dr said to come back in a couple of weeks (I was away on hol for a week so couldn't return sooner). Those 2 weeks were the longest ever - I was SO worried that there was no baby. Happily, the next scan - there was the heart beat, mini embryo, everything. I wish now that I had not had the first scan so early as rather than being excited about the preg I spent 2 weeks feeling really stressed instead. Fingers Xed for you that your scan was just a little too early, and the next one will show a lovely heart beat and everything :)
Onelittletoddler - Last week all I wanted salad/weirdly healthy foods - but now I'm just fancying carbs/crisps/cakes :) You are not alone!
Diege - That's really interesting about how diff folk view the odds. Last preg I didn't worry too much about whether the baby had downs etc, and didn't get any tests done. I think I just did my best not to think about it. This time somehow I have become much more anxious about it all - and have arranged to have the nuchal screening, but am worried how I'll feel if given a relatively high risk number. Wondering if that is worse than having no number to obsess over! I'd forgotten how stressful the waiting/wondering is.
Vix - That is fab news :) Do you have a date for a scan? I hope that they don't make you wait too long.
Great to see lots of older Mums. I'm 35, and will be just about 36 when baby is born, assuming (s)he isn't at all early. My due date is a week after my bday - a gap between the two bdays would be nice! Superb to hear that you are 43 Diege - it gives me hope that maybe my brother's wife (who is 40) may yet be lucky. They are trying for their 1st. Not looking fwd to telling them I am expecting again.
