Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
busyprocrastinating · 25/03/2013 18:24

My friend is starting her maternity on Thursday so she is upset that she has been caught. My main problem at the minute is motivating myself to start!

theboob · 25/03/2013 18:25

31 here !

pegster · 25/03/2013 18:35

Oh & I'm 35, 36 in may

Lozcat86 · 25/03/2013 18:41

im 27 and will be 27 when i have baby no 1 around 12/13th November

Im 7 weeks today and had my booking in appt with my midwife. All went well and she considers me low risk so thats good. She attempted to take some blood but i guess my body wasnt feeling very generous so ill have to go get that done at the hospital!
Feeling very sicky the last couple of days and eating seems to help but ive gone off tea now... :o(

Alwaystheauntie · 25/03/2013 18:42

Oh bloody bugger. Just got my appointments through from hospital and they haven't set me up with an 8 week scan as the consultant said they would do. Got a 12 week scan. Am gutted. Am stupidly paranoid that I am going to mc and was just hoping to have the 8 week scan to set my mind at rest. Can I get one privately? My booking in appt with midwife isn't until 19 April (which I can't make so have to change).

Hmm. Just had an emotional breakdown cos the dog ate a piece of junk mail. Perhaps all is well after all...

harverina · 25/03/2013 18:48

I'm 31 and has dd when I was 28.

Felt so much better today. Think it must have been something to do with all the rest I had at the weekend and the good sleep I had last night plus I has small snacks (rubbish) often today. Still feel a little sickish with a little heartburn but not nearly as bad Grin so my aim for the rest of the week is to be in bed by 9.30 to relax and read my book and sleeping by 10.30.

My dh isn't coming to my booking in appointment on Wednesday. First time round he came to everything - even the first docs appointment! This time he will probably just come to scans and possibility the first midwife appointment where they use the doppler. What are everyone else's dp's doing?

I weighed myself in work today and am the same weight???!!! That can't be right??? I only need to look at something sweet/fatty to put on weight and based on the amount of rubbish I have been eating I bought is have gained a stone!

Vix so delighted for you. Know you probably won't relax until you see that everything is ok on the scan but really encouraging that the midwife was not too worried - she probably does see situations like that daily but that won't make you worry any less. Hope your hip burns are getting a little rest Grin

I have been given an extension for my uni essay. It's due Friday and I've started it so I am going to keep going as If I plan to have it in on Friday but realistically I think I will be finished next week Grin it's a weight from my shoulders though in the hand scheme of things it's not that important.

Just been shouted for dinner so better run. Meatballs mmmmmm can't get enough meat haha!!

Dizzy81 · 25/03/2013 18:54

Vix, glad everything's ok.

Got my scan tomorrow will fill you lovely ladies in tomorrow. Today I've been weeing like a racehorse! How n earth I'm going to hold a pint in tomorrow I don't know. The boobs are still sore and e sea band has helped with the nausea.

Also I've been asked to schedule my appointments were possible for first thing in the am. Not sure how I feel.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 25/03/2013 19:05

always a lot of private places do dating scans. I think it's £65-70 in my area. Do you know anyone who has done it privately? Maybe the midwife/consultant would know some names too? Hope you can get it sorted out.

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 25/03/2013 19:09

Great news Vix! FWIW I had bleeding all the way through with DD and she's now a lively toddler so fingers crossed for you. I found it easier once I could feel movements as there wasn't the urge to rush for a scan that there is in the early weeks - you just know things are ok.

I am 32 and will be when this one pops out, was 30 when DD was born and there'll be a 25 month gap.

Happy to discover (though it wasn't a pleasant weekend) that my horrendous nausea last week appeared to be down to food poisoning! Was seriously panicking as I felt so ill, which was the complete opposite of how I was last time. Didn't eat anything but breakfast cereals for meals Fri/Sat/yest. Thankfully feeling a lot better now though.

First scan on Weds here, will be 8+6. Providing everything's ok, we'll be telling the GPs that evening. Have actually already let slip to a couple of friends and my brothers but we wanted to tell the GPs when we knew everything was ok.

Not looking forward to the internal scan thing particularly but had them before so at least I know what to expect. Then it's getting booked in for the 12 week and the nuchal fold test, which isn't done as standard here (US).

Does anyone else feel like they look pregnant btw? Am sure my stomach is bigger!

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 25/03/2013 19:12

Forgot to say - Dizzy - don't drink too much! With DD, who was born in the UK, I had drunk so much that they made me do half a wee, then hold and go back for another look! Now that took some bladder control!!!

Theicingontop · 25/03/2013 19:12

Unfortunately yes Wibblypig!. OH was giving me a cuddle last night and did a double-take. I was so sure it was just weight gain but I weighed myself again this morning and I've lost another couple of pounds Confused

Surely 8 weeks is far far too early, even with a second pregnancy, to start showing???

I dunno. But my jeans don't fit right...

MummaPanda · 25/03/2013 19:24

Ooh forgot to say I told the first person I was pregnant today! Receptionist at the dr surgery. Felt soo weird to say it out loud! I had dd with me too so she must have thought I was crazy!!!

OP posts:
ilovemiltonismybestfriend · 25/03/2013 19:34

Awkward lozcat... We are the same age and due close together!! I think your the first person my age that I have "seen"!

harverina · 25/03/2013 19:35

That's the weird thing wibbly - my tummy feels huge! I feel huge Hmm but scales say I'm the same or similar weight?!

Perhaps the tub of Ben and Jerrys I am devouring will change that Wink

Dizzy has your work asked you to do that re appointments? I am fortunate, I just take flexi or just say I have a doc appointment and no questions will be asked. Think last time I just sneaked away and no one noticed a couple of times. This week I am on study leave so easy to go to midwife appointment this time Grin

PoppySeedBun · 25/03/2013 19:41

onelittle im with you on the graze boxes z- hoovered through three today, plus some pretzels and a couple of muesli bars. First proper day of nausea today, so trying to keep nibbling all day to keep it at bay. Still feeling a bit grim though, and haven't yet worked out what makes it worse/better. Pretzels do seem to be a bit magic though.
And I'm 33, will be 34 at EDD.
Thinking about telling my Mum and Dad at the weekend, when I'll be 8 weeks. May also have to tell boss before then if the sickness gets worse ...

getoffthecoffeetable · 25/03/2013 19:42

icing my tummy is definitely showing second pregnancy. Last week my suit trousers were loose, this week, very snug!

Dizzy81 · 25/03/2013 19:43

Yep I've been asked to do that where possible, I did reply I'd do that anyway s
Where possible so not to take the piss.

TiredFeet · 25/03/2013 19:48

I'm 31, was 29 when I had DS. Feeling a bit more queasy now! Weird that for now I am pleased to see signs of nausea as it makes it feel more real. I am sure that will change within days

wibbly I had the same thing, I got properly told off by the sonographer because my bladder was too full Hmm had to do half a wee and then stop and go back!

Minesahotchocolate · 25/03/2013 19:49

RMJ17 - I don't know how many weeks preg you are, but with my first preg I had a scan around the 6 week mark and couldn't see anything apart from the yolk sac. No heart beat. The Dr said to come back in a couple of weeks (I was away on hol for a week so couldn't return sooner). Those 2 weeks were the longest ever - I was SO worried that there was no baby. Happily, the next scan - there was the heart beat, mini embryo, everything. I wish now that I had not had the first scan so early as rather than being excited about the preg I spent 2 weeks feeling really stressed instead. Fingers Xed for you that your scan was just a little too early, and the next one will show a lovely heart beat and everything :)

Onelittletoddler - Last week all I wanted salad/weirdly healthy foods - but now I'm just fancying carbs/crisps/cakes :) You are not alone!

Diege - That's really interesting about how diff folk view the odds. Last preg I didn't worry too much about whether the baby had downs etc, and didn't get any tests done. I think I just did my best not to think about it. This time somehow I have become much more anxious about it all - and have arranged to have the nuchal screening, but am worried how I'll feel if given a relatively high risk number. Wondering if that is worse than having no number to obsess over! I'd forgotten how stressful the waiting/wondering is.

Vix - That is fab news :) Do you have a date for a scan? I hope that they don't make you wait too long.

Great to see lots of older Mums. I'm 35, and will be just about 36 when baby is born, assuming (s)he isn't at all early. My due date is a week after my bday - a gap between the two bdays would be nice! Superb to hear that you are 43 Diege - it gives me hope that maybe my brother's wife (who is 40) may yet be lucky. They are trying for their 1st. Not looking fwd to telling them I am expecting again.

TiredFeet · 25/03/2013 19:54

busyprocrastinating -good luck for ofsted!

BangOn · 25/03/2013 20:01

i'm another 31 yr old - seems a popular age on this thread. i'll be 32 pretty soon though... was nearly 25 when dc1 was born & 28 going on 29 with dc2. ah, so young... those were the days Grin

Fakebook · 25/03/2013 20:02

Hi everyone, I seem to have skipped a whole thread! I'll try to catch up later!

I just wanted to let everyone know I had my scan this morning and everything was fine. I'm 7wks 5d and the baby was measuring 10.2mm and we could see a head forming and little buds for arms and legs. I have my next scan in two weeks and have my booking in appointment with the midwife too. I still can't believe I'm having a baby. I feel a bit bad but I'm not getting excited. Is anyone else on their 3rd or more baby feeling like this? Hopefully I'll feel more motivated once the sickness and nausea disappear!

vix206 · 25/03/2013 20:03

No date for scan yet but will have to wait for at least 5 weeks as they want me to wait for dating scan Confused

Will be spending a fortune on clear blue conception indicators until then I fear.....

louby86 · 25/03/2013 20:28

Before I run off to catch up I'll just post the two things in my head....

I'm 26 and will be 26 when baby is due

Harv - I'm allergic to tree nuts with Brazil nuts and hazelnuts being the worst. What's your DD allergic to?

Runs....

williaminajetfighter · 25/03/2013 20:43

Vix - big sigh of relief! So pleased for you!

I had my scan at the EPU today and because of my recurrent miscarriages get another in 2 weeks time, then 2 weeks after that. Sweet! It was lovely seeing little thing with little heartbeat and thankfully dated just where I thought I was at 7wk/4 days. I am still a bit worried how this one might turn out, mostly due to my age...

Diege like you I am 43 (hooray oldies) but my birthday is in October so I will be 44 when I give birth. Dear, dear god.... My DD is 6 so they will be 7 years apart.
