I have no such excuse. I just like ice cream Grin

We got Ben and Jerry's Apple Pie. DH loves it but I'm not so sure.

PGP still bothering me, but physio appointment is on the 11th and I've today discovered that if I lie on the sofa with my bum propped up on the arm rest it is much less painful.

Creamtea1 · 24/03/2013 20:48

Note to self to seek out peanut butter b&j's tommorow...
Agreed the white choc berry core one is pants

MrsPennyapple · 24/03/2013 21:01

Mmm, I love ice cream. I may have to look for some of that apple pie one tomorrow and then eat it all before DP gets home.

I made a ginger cake last week, it was a total failure. I had to use granulate dsugar as I thought I had a whole bag of demarera, but then it turned out I didn't. It sank in the middle because I knocked it when turning it round in the oven. Then it stuck to the tin and ended up coming out in pieces. And finally, it tastes a bit odd. Nothing I can put my finger on, it's just the first taste is a bit funny. (Solution - eat more of it. The weird taste goes after the first couple of bites.) I am going to have a go at parkin sometime this week, hopefully that will be more successful.

Nothing to report on the pg front, a bit of kicking, that's it really.

Woofers · 24/03/2013 21:30

I'm not keen on the my my apple pie one. Too much cinnamon

Ps beccy. Did I send a friend req to the right person? Can I be on the fb page?

12 sleeps til 20w scan Grin then the shopping can really begin!!!

muddybloodypuddles · 24/03/2013 21:45

woofers - I have no such excuse but i did manage to have tomatoes, cucumber, orange and apple for tea followed by another piece of toblerone

Jolly - I'm trying to imagine you laying on the sofa with your bum on the arm? Sounds mighty uncomfortable to me - also that would give me the most enormous heartburn Hmm - but I guess we do what we can!

Have to say I'm not much of an icecream fan so none of those flavours entice me

Went to antenatal pilates on Wed eve - my god, i've only just stopped aching! Muscle aches in my back and thighs - she really works you out - I was on the 'low level' bit too - no jumping around due to placenta previa and only slight lifting of legs due to pgp (I sound like a hypercondriac - prob not spelt right) - hopefully if I keep going though it will make me nice and fit ready for labour even though I'll probably end up having a c-section anyway due to the PP - apparently she's pretty hardcore for the postnatal pilates too - and she has 3 kids under 4!! i think I am in awe....

Abilee90 · 24/03/2013 22:50

Not a happy preg lady today :( headache is horrendous! Made rocky road cheese cake and havent tried it yet as headache makes me very dizzy! Eaten a total of pretty much sod all apart from the roast i cooked. This double my calorie intake (plan consultant put me on) is in impossible. I can just stomache one meal a day let alone 3 :( sorry shouldnt moan about being aloud to eat more but just feel ill.

Today has just been rubbish. Dd slept for 3 hours, still getting over what ever has attacked her immune system. A tad worried :(
Dh has gone out for second night in a row :/ even tho i aint top notch :/ his excuse is i got cut short last night (i rang him, due to the fact dd was ill and my knee had swollen straight. Couldnt even bend it a little) so he in dog house.

Sorry to moan just needed it off my chest :/

Xxx

Stopsittingonyoursister · 24/03/2013 22:53

muddy that sounds like hard work! I'm trying to motivate myself to get back into swimming, but so far even the thought of coming out of the pool with wet hair in this weather is enought to put me off!

Jolly whatever works for you!!

woofers yesterday I ate toast for breakfast, danish pastry at the coffee shop, hot cross buns and cheese for lunch, picked at the kids' pizza, cheese and bean toastie for dinner (DH was out with friends) and white chocolate, raspberry and amaretto cheesecake for afters. A tad carb heavy!! Have eaten LOTS of fruit today to try and balance it all out.

Went to a naming ceremony today - I was one of the Supporting Adults for the baby - with a party afterwards. Was so proud of the kids, they behaved really well and I didn't have to use any Stern Looks, always a bonus! The bump suddenly looks huge though (nothing to do with the 4500 calories consumed on the Saturday!), and everyone looked very sceptical when I kept telling them I was 21.5 weeks. Made me feel a bit self-conscious!

RuckAndRoll · 25/03/2013 09:51

So, ladies who are on DC2 or more. My Grandad has decided he wants a big family meal for his 80th bday in June, I'll be 31 weeks by then. We'll need to fly (just over an hour) then 2 hours in the car with my parents. I've checked the airlines rules and they discourage flying after 28 wks but will accept you until 34wks. What are the chances of me actually wanting to fly at the point? Or is it likely to be all too much? I really want to go but I'm reluctant to get his hopes up if we can't make it.

We're already in the dog house with DH's family for missing a 90th bday party at the end of July, in one of the most southerly towns in the UK, when we live in Scotland. Apparently we should drive!

How is everyone today? Countdown to the scan begins - Thursday Smile

20+1

Beckett3 · 25/03/2013 10:33

Abilee90 Hope your headache is better today and that your DH is being more supportive.

Stopsittingonyoursister I'm sure your bump is lovely Grin

RuckAndRoll Sorry can't really help as never been in that position, however I wouldn't take the fact that you've already had to turn down one invitation into consideration. Good luck for your scan on Thursday.

Is anyone else still in their normal clothes? I have a definite bump, but am still wearing my pre pregnancy clothes, don't think I've ever got to this stage and done that yet!

I have 2 more driving lessons this week, every week is a step closer to freedom! Fingers crossed that I will be able to continue to fit comfortably behind the wheel.

Did a little baby clothes shopping at the weekend and had a good look at some pushchairs, my 3 children had great fun testing them out and helping me choose.

Locketjuice · 25/03/2013 10:49

Ruck, I never really felt any different being pregnant with ds1, had a couple of stays in hospital etc but that was out of any ones control and once that was over I just felt rounder not really 'different' so if you would usually be ok with the travelling I don't see why not, especially if you have no complications in the lead up, I have to drive 4 1/2 hours end of may to my brothers wedding, Hasn't crossed my mind about being pregnant so not being able to, maybe I'm just dopey haha Smile

My scans on the 4th so countdown to that aswell! Exciting! When's yours again? x

Locketjuice · 25/03/2013 10:54

Beckett- hope your driving goes well, I have just passed (7th march) so hope to be insured and ready to go on Friday, fingers crossed!

And yes still in my normal clothes, although have been wearing my maternity skinnys because I love them and couldn't wait to find an excuse to get them back on, hopefully shopping some point this week though as they are too big so going to hunt through h&m to find maternity 8's as I love how comfortable they are :) and will hopefully see me through the whole pregnancy.

Hope everyone is well, babies really active now and wakes me up along with ds1 throughout the night... Little darlings Hmm

20 WEEKS TODAY HURRAH! Xx

muddybloodypuddles · 25/03/2013 10:56

Stopsitting - you are making me hungry! I went swimming the other day for the first time in ages, lovely feeling light in the water but forgot how heavy you feel when you get out again!

Abi - hope you start feeling better soon, can see why dh is in the dog house Angry

Ruck - I would think I would have been okay in last pgcy to fly a short way at 31wks but not in this one as it is a bit more complicated with my PP. As someone else said don't feel pressured into it, you have to put yours and baby's health before what everyone thinks. How late can you leave it to book? Depending on the airline you may need a doc's cert to say you are safe to fly too. And I DEF don't blame you for not going to the one in July - the people that disapprove must not have their heads screwed on properly!!!

Beckett - def not normal jeans!! But can still wear a couple of dresses and tops that are pre-pregnancy

Anyone going away for Easter? We're off to mil's in Cornwall on Thurs for a week (could be our only 'holiday' this year lol) - would've been nice to get some sunshine and warmth but nevermind...it will be nice to spend some time with dh without him working all the time!!

RuckAndRoll · 25/03/2013 11:03

Locket I was happy to go until I read that they discourage you from 28 weeks. I'm leaning more towards telling them I can't go and if everything is going well we can book last minute flights as a nice surprise, rather than book and plan to go and end up upsetting them if we can't go. So far, I'm fine but things will probably change when my medication changes next week.

Beckett I'm still in pre-pregnancy tops but the trousers are long gone. They seemed to dig in at just the wrong point when I'm sat at my desk. Although being 6ft tall I am enjoying the extra length in maternity tops!

Stopsitting Well done to your DC, you have them well trained obviously Grin and I'm sure your bump is fine. One of my friends keeps joking that mine is too small, have to keep reminding her she has twins!

RuckAndRoll · 25/03/2013 11:08

x-post their Muddy. Thanks. We can book quite late as long as there are seats on the flight really. I'm sure the restaurant will be able to add 2 people if they're told the day before. I'm going to speak to DH and DM later and work out a solution. Now to try and decipher the airline policy for if I need a drs note for flying at 26 weeks.

MrsWajs · 25/03/2013 12:57

It'll depend on the airline Ruck I'm flying with Ryanair in May to my parents place in France and they only require a letter from your GP or MW if you're in your 28th week, which I won't be, however I'm that big that they may not believe me so I might get one just incase!!

I have my gramdmas 80th in November which is also down south, baby will only be a couple of months old and my aunt has helpfully suggested that rather than taking all the kids to the restaurant with us, the neighbour could babysit!!! Ehhh... no thanks! I wouldn't leave any of the kids with people I hardly know regardless of their age. DSS is 5 and DD will be 2, my brother will be there too with his DD who will only be 1 - I hardly think the 60+ yo neighbour would cope anyway!!
The 6 hour drive should be fine though, we did it last month with DD and DSS and it was ok. When we last did it with DD she was only 10 weeks and slept the whole way except for feed stops so I'm hoping it'll be ok!

Muddy France will be our only hols for this year I think. We were due to go on a big family holiday also in November to Lanzarote but DP isn't keen as we are trying to save for a deposit for a house and will be living with my parents til we can afford it so I don't think splashing over a grand on a holiday features highly on his priority list!

Beckett v. jelous of you still wearing normal clothes, I've been in mat stuff for a while and am a good few weeks less pg than most of you too :(

MrsWajs · 25/03/2013 12:57

Oh yeah 17+1

bluer · 25/03/2013 13:16

Hi ladies...hope I'm not too late to join the party! My due date is 22nd Ausgust. ruck and roll suggested I pop by on another thread as I'm having a hard old time of it...anaemia, low bp, virus and cold, and one heck of a time at work Sad
I'm usually much more chipper honestly!

RugBugs · 25/03/2013 13:20

Haha MrsWajs I'm flying with ryanair at 22wks and am a little worried they won't believe i'm not more than 28wks.

I must be crazy, we're going to Brussels for DPs birthday in two weeks, last time I was there I got so horrifically drunk I lost my debit card in one of the confusing European banking halls Blush then got stuck in there (as no card to let myself out).

I'm going to get DP to order the beers I want and then just take a sip of each [sob] and console myself with lots and lots of yummy fresh cream pralines.

Baby wouldn't let me go to sleep last night! It's usually pretty quiet late evening but I felt proper actual movements under my hands and a few good jabs. I have been feeling really subtle movement under the layer of fat for a while but last night was awesome Grin, it's quite odd to feel small movements on the outside when inside it feels like the baby is trying to dig it's way out.

BabyHMummy · 25/03/2013 13:22

Only just seen this courtesy of the post bluer put up elsewhere. I am due 18th August...bloody terrified as feel completely detached from pregnancy etc. Anyone else feel like this?!

RuckAndRoll · 25/03/2013 13:24

Hiya bluer, never to late to join the party did you bring snacks?

If need be, ask work to show you the risk assessment they're legally bound to do once they know you're pregnancy. That normally shuts them up as they don't always do it!

bluer · 25/03/2013 13:35

Grin I did that a while ago! Interesting to note that they're always trying to put extra classes on us etc due to other absences when the risk assessment says my workload should be discussed and reviewed often! it's all lip service!
Hi baby h

Boosiehs · 25/03/2013 13:56

Any suggestions as to what I'm supposed to be feeling? The bubbster has a nice strong heartbeat and according to the midwives is very wriggly, but I can't tell when its moving.

wavesandsmiles · 25/03/2013 14:37

Hi all, checking in from hospital again having my daily IV fluids. I'm still in "normal" clothes, apart from ones which won't do up round my bump, but that's only 2 pairs of jeans, and been in new bras a while now as my boobs grew a lot right away!

Attempting a return to work on Wednesday, all subject to them letting me have the time to come up for daily fluids.

Stbxh should be gone by this evening, hopefully after he's gone I can start to focus on the future and things will be a bit more positive. Fingers crossed ...

muddybloodypuddles · 25/03/2013 15:39

Welcome to bluer and babyh! Bluer you sound like you're having a bit of a rough time - are you on the horrible iron tablets? I've had a taste in my mouth almost permanently since about 5wks that reminds me of the taste when taking iron tabs in my last pgcy - yuk

Waves - good luck for later fingers crossed he goes without too much of a fuss. Going back to work sounds like a positive step, is the medication working or you starting to feel a bit better? Not surprised you're still in normal clothes!

Boosiehs - it can feel like fluttering butterflies or wriggly fish or sometimes I can tell baby is just rolling around because it feels a bit like a washing machine inside (hard to describe) and makes me feel like I've got a case of butterflies. Otherwise I just feel little kicks and thumps - I didn't feel anything until 21wks with DS, it also depends where your placenta is.

I do have another holiday booked but its for 24th Aug!! In France - along with my mum and sisters we booked a large house in France (before I got pg), they've just booked their flights but in really not sure what to do - would prob do ferry instead but baby is due 5th Aug so would be 3wks if it came on time and am not only worried that's too young but also what if I go overdue or have any complications or if I'm still bleeding a lot... Am tempted to book anyway and maybe dh and ds could go without me if I didn't want to...im sure id be okay with a 3wk old on my own, unless I had a c-section..

Anyone ever been abroad with a very young baby??

Christelle2207 · 25/03/2013 15:42

good news waves and if you are thinking about going back to work I assume you are feeling at least a bit better?

No way am i in normal clothes, have been in mat trousers since about 15 weeks (now 21) though some "normal" dresses and tops are still ok for now.
