acpwh.csp.org.uk/ this one

JollyPurpleGiant · 19/04/2013 08:04

Oh shit! DS is puking and has diarrhoea this morning. Just in time to ruin his second birthday on Sunday. I am gutted. What a disaster. I might cry :(

Woofers · 19/04/2013 08:51

Baby h - I am so glad you have pain down there too!!! I think we are having mirror pregnancies. No one else had mentioned it so I thought I was the weird one.
I am seeing an osteopath for my pelvic pain - it is really easing. And I have discussed the bump bands with him - he says be cautious that it doesn't refer the instability elsewhere, especially as I'm hypermobile normally.
Welcome to the group new person. Smile
My edd is 30th too. First baby and first gc both sides too.
I am buying paint today for the nursery - I have given up with dh operation loft boarding.
We have bought car seat and base new - everything else is eBay or gum tree.
We have a horrendous hand me down from his mum which I thought I'd not find a mattress for, but I have. Unfortunately I have a sneaky feeling ds won't like it ....... Wink
We got a cot bed from eBay and will be buying a new mattress when the next offer is on.
Picking up a cot top changer on sat - eBay again.
Sola pram and carrycot - eBay.
Bouncer from gumtree

I plan to use disposables for first few weeks then buy a selection of reusables. We shall see!! You can all tell me your reviews Grin

Hr advise please - if I tell them at work that I am finding it difficult to do one aspect of the job, but able to do other parts with ease are they meant to make reasonable adjustments so I can stay until I want to go into confinement (I love that we go into confinement - see ya world I'm in confinement!!)

Woofers · 19/04/2013 08:52

Ps jolly sorry about the poorly boy. Might be just a 24 hr thing. Fingers crossed for you xxx

RuckAndRoll · 19/04/2013 09:51

Fingers crossed it's a 24 hr bug Jolly

I've had the same warning as woofers about those support belts from my mw. She said unless it's recommended by your mw/GP/physio, don't. They can make it worse by letting the muscles become lazy as they're so supported, as well as throwing other bits of you out of line.

They're a god send for some people I know, just a word of caution that's all.

Slw8000 · 19/04/2013 09:54

Hi
Can you join you please? I am due 23rd August with baby no 2. Ds is 17 mths so the idea of 2 under 2 is freaking me out a bit. We are planning to move house at the beginning of June when I will be about 28 weeks. I also had my son at 26 weeks and he spent 3 months in hospital so am just hoping that I can stay pregnant a bit longer this time.
Sounds like loads of you are suffering from pelvic pain, hope you all manage to cope and are getting lots of help.
Thanks for the hr advise, I really must sort out my mat b1 and mat leave as am hoping to finish at end of may.
X

RuckAndRoll · 19/04/2013 09:56

Welcome Slw come join the party Smile

wavesandsmiles · 19/04/2013 10:26

Welcom Slw. I had DD when DS was just under 18 months. It is great now as they are so close, but I must admit I am looking forward to just having one super dependent child to look after this time round. I've taught them both to make super noodles and angel delight, so they can even feed themselves something more interesting than sandwiches, toast or snacks! (DS is just 9, and DD is 7)

I am having my 5th scan today - one of the benefits (the only benefit?) on the ongoing hyperemesis. Seeing my consultant, and she usually likes to have a peep to see that all is well. So it isn't an official scan, just a check.

Off in an hour to see her, then on to hospital probably for my fluids and medication.

25 + 3

Abilee90 · 19/04/2013 11:22

Hi all :)

Welcome new duebies,

No nursery here til we move but then wee man will be in our room for Bout 8 months so no panic on that one lol. I have a mammas and pappas cot bed for dd and i love it. Will be getting same for ds.

beckie90 · 19/04/2013 12:07

Welcome slw

jolly hope your ds gets better, ds2 is 2 on monday, so not much between them. Hope he has a good birthday

Xx

BabyHMummy · 19/04/2013 12:43

Even if the band just gets me thru this weekend it will be a missing. Have a family party to go to which i can't bow out of so need to minimise the pain. Can't get hold of mw til Tuesday when the ia back at work so its all about getting thru the next hour at the moment.

I am having a particularly emotional day in part cos of pain and part cos dp is blog completely thoughtless towards me...keep trying to play fight or tickle me which is making pain worse plus he seems to go out pf his way not to upset his stupid b*tch of an ex but i just get left in the wake and am having a hard time playing second fiddle to her feelings this week.

wavesandsmiles · 19/04/2013 13:00

I saw my baby again Smile I've still got ketones and very low blood pressure but little man was wriggly and has a great heartbeat. He's on the small side, just under the 10th centile, but considering how little I'm getting in from a calorie perspective he's doing great.

At hospital now for fluids etc. who has nice plans for the weekend?

RuckAndRoll · 19/04/2013 13:08

waves brilliant you got to see your wriggly little man Smile Might make the hospital trip a little bit better after that.

We're off away for the weekend, just us, a big hotel room, some books and dvds, maybe a nice walk, and chilling. Last proper chance to do it before baby arrives. Brilliant and sunny here so really hoping it lasts.

RugBugs · 19/04/2013 13:22

Welcome Slw

Hope your DS recovers quickly Jolly

Waves I had ketones for the last part of my last pregnancy, hospital couldn't work out why and I was admitted and given extra food to try and get rid but they persisted! I did lose a lot of weight but I was eating healthily and a fair amount of custard creams.

Chuckaluck · 19/04/2013 15:22

woofers yes you can definately ask for a reasonable adjustment for one part of the job to be changed or removed and if they can't accommodate it then you have to go off work on full pay!

Boosiehs · 19/04/2013 15:41

Blimey - look what I missed!

Waves - hope the fluids do the trick today!

my bump has been uite painful. Really feeluing the strain. :( Wish I had more muscles!

Can't WAIT for the end of the day. I'm knackered - work is bluddy exhausting at the moment and I need not to be here. Seriously considering flexible working request right now.

No MATB1 for me either. I seem to be behind with midwife appts. Going tot he GP on tuesday so hopefully will get something then.

muddybloodypuddles · 19/04/2013 18:14

Glad someone replied about the support belts, was considering one as bump already gets quite heavy and uncomfortable at times but thought I had vaguely remembered reading that they made your muscles lazy, ho hum will just have to put up with it then, pgp seems to be a lot better so don't really have any other reason for one.

Welcome to gerty and slw

whoever asked about baby sleeping arrangements, I would recommend getting a moses basket for first few months, esp if someone can lend you one, then move straight on to cot / cot bed.

Jolly - my DS has just got over something similar (just in time to go back to nursery!) - hope he's all better for Sunday.

24+4

Christelle2207 · 19/04/2013 19:18

In a good mood. had 25 week appt today and finally got my matb1 form from midwife and my bump and heartbeat and bp were all deemed to be "perfect". Right in the middle of the scale so any more scan hopes seem unlikely. Also got referral to physio for pgp. Over the last few days or so dh and I have finally begun to actually see DC's movements in my belly which is freaky but great.
Happy Friday xx

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 19/04/2013 19:29

I am hoping for an adjustment in some of my duties at work too. The chemicals I work with are all ok, but there is a lot of manual handling, and some awkward things you need to kneel and crouch for. I have been avoiding these things like the plague because of my PGP. But I would like something in writing so when my colleagues aren't around to help I am not expected to do it anyway despite the pain.

My manager can be a bit arsey at the best of times, I still haven't had my risk assessment (at nearly 24 weeks) despite a written reminder from Occupational Health. I am scared he will be difficult with me because I had a referral to OH after being signed off with PGP and they have declared me 'fit to resume full duties' which is not what the physio I have seen has said.

My physio recommended the Serola belt and said to wear it very low down, I will have to buy as there is no funding for them anymore on the NHS. In my assessment she got me to do a straight leg raise and a bent leg raise, then repeat this while she put her hands on each side of my pelvis and pressed it in firmly. She said if this gave any relief in pain the belt would do some good.

Does anybody have the sinusitis that is going round? I do, so hard to get any sleep. Roll on August.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 19/04/2013 23:26

Gosh, no chance of catching up properly with all posts!

Sorry to hear so many are suffering with pelvic/hip pain. I hope the physio works.

I had my MATB1 after my 20wk scan/MW appointment, and forgot to hand it in at work. They asked for it every day for a week before I remembered to bring it in with me. Pregnancy brain strikes again!

Ruck have a lovely weekend away. After DS1 was born, it took me and DH 6 YEARS before we had another child free weekend away together, so enjoy every minute!

Christelle glad your MW appt went well. I don't get another one until 28 weeks, seems so long to wait.

Good news about your boy, waves.

Welcome gerty and slw

Feeling loads of movements here now. Does anyone else sometimes get a "wooshy" feeling in their stomachs, like when you go over a bridge too fast in the car, or are on a rollercoaster? I think it must be baby turning over completely, but feels distinctly odd.

It's been DH's birthday this week, so we are celebrating this weekend. DH is a massive Port Vale fan and if they win their game this weekend they get promoted to the next division, so we are all going down to see the game. Never seen DH so nervous, he says he's more nervous than either on our wedding day or for either of the kids' births!

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 19/04/2013 23:34

stopsitting I describe the feeling as like going downhill on a roller coaster, a wooshy, tumbly feeling. I have started to feel some much stronger movements which feel like a single strong heartbeat, I am assuming they might be kicks? They're not painful yet, and tend to be adjacent to my belly button, or a little higher.

It feels very odd at work where you have to be professional, and concentrate on what you are doing while all the time obsessing over these little flips.

MrsWajs · 20/04/2013 04:08

For those of you not on the fb page, I have finally had my scan and baby is a boy! :)

Jolly Hope DS feels better for Sunday and happy birthday to him when it comes. Same to your DS beckie. DD is 2 on Thursday! Oh how time flies!

On the subject of cots etc, we have a cotbed from mamas and papas for DD and she will stay in that for the forseeable. DS will come in with us in the crib until he's too big for it, hopefully at least 4 months or so. We moved in with my parents yesterday so we can save for a deposit so space is at a premium!! Hoping to be somewhere new very shortly after baby arrives!

I have a physio appt on Monday to see about my ? PGP and back pain. VERY quick service from my NHS trust as I only referred last Friday!

RememberingMyPFEs · 20/04/2013 08:07

I had a similar 'whooshing' sensation. I likened it to anxious butterflies. Now I'm getting full on karate chops and kicks. I can even feel a foot or a hand at times! GrinGrinGrin

My hips/groin pain is the same as it was but the more I think about my MW response the madder I get. I explained my symptoms and said it sounded like PGP and what did she think. She asked what PGP was. She then said "it's normal and will get worse as you get bigger" end of conversation. It only really bothers me at night (turning over is agony) or if I've sat a long time. Should I suck it up or ask for second opinion?

RememberingMyPFEs · 20/04/2013 08:07

Sorry, 25+4
