Yes, I definitely have a bump but as it's #3 I have no stomach muscles left at all.
Thanks for the recipe creamtea - and my boys thank you in advance, they'll be happy bunnies tomorrow.
ION - think this might be the first day when I haven't felt sick!

JoCheshire10 · 21/03/2013 19:35

That's funny Kittenkatzen! Exactly what dh and I have said! He gets a well done and I get congratulations - v strange!

People can be so rude with their comments... Also noticed that as soon as I walk in the office all eyes are on my bump! People can't speak to me without glancing at it Smile

swaye · 21/03/2013 19:38

Waiting for the nuchal result is hard, ho hum. Day 7 today or 5 if it's workings days they count and no phone call... No news is good news but so hard waiting!!!

My bump has been visible for about 9 weeks, it's very low and ive been hiding it until i get this blasted result... Im an 'old' mum to be lol.

BinarySolo · 21/03/2013 19:45

I was temping in an office last time I was pregnant and one of the perm members of staff was due 3 days after me. She would constantly comment that I was huge, when actually we were pretty much the same size. She was a complete cow to me tho, I think because I stole her thunder by also being pregnant. The cheek of it!

Aww BinarySolo people can be soo cruel! My friend has been told in the space of 5mins by diff people that she's so small by one and huge by the other. Im gonna take any comments with a pinch of salt

BinarySolo · 21/03/2013 21:22

Definitely. I think most people just say it for something to say!

Same girl also told me I could get my foof waxed right up until I was due to give birth. Yep, cos a tidy bikini line was top of my to do list, imagine the mw's horror that I was natural. Oh the shame...

My mum told me today that my arse looked pregnant. Ahh, so cheers for that.

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 21/03/2013 21:51

PS, first pregnancy was barely showing and easily in old clothes at 20 weeks. This time, haven't been able to get in normal clothes since about 12 weeks!

BinarySolo · 22/03/2013 05:51

Argh! I've just accidentally clicked hide on this thread. How do I unhide? Bloody phone. Bloody sausage fingers.

Gosh, had real trouble sleeping last night due to pains around my tummy (feels like stitch after doing sit ups). It's still sore this morning. Hoping I can shift it before Monday when Im off to Centre Parcs with our little god daughter. Fingers crossed the weather improves.
Anyone else had stitch like pains in their lower tummy? I might take some paracetamol if it's still bad this eve. Have been avoiding all forms of pain killers up until now.

BinarySolo · 22/03/2013 08:32

Not stitch like pains but often I feel like I've pulled a muscle. Sometimes even when I've only moved very slightly. I think I remember having it last time.

When people say you forget the bad stuff they're not kidding. Ds not 2 yet but the whole pregnancy and birth seems very blurry like I was taking some fuzzy pills...

OP posts:
Manoodledo · 22/03/2013 09:33

I've had those sorts of pains as well. They lasted a day or so, then disappeared, but it really was quite painful. I think it was just stretching.

fl0b0t · 22/03/2013 10:20

I've also had some stretching pains (not pants as I just typed!!). I'm also feeling quite uncomfortable higher up under my rib cage, like bay is squishing all my organs up under my ribs (which I guess it will!!), or like I've been sitting crunched over with bad posture! Very uncomfortable!

Despite still being nauseaous 24/7 and being utterly exhausted and having a sore lower back and strange pains, I'm feeling pretty positive :)

How about everyone else?

My bump is dependant on what I'm wearing. I'm now dated about 14+4 and in a tight longtop/dress and leggings/tights I look very bumpy, but in jeans and a shirt/tshirt I could get away with having eaten a few too many slices of pizza! Hence when I want to feel pregnant, I wear something tighter! :) Now I've told everyone, a few people at work said there was something "different" about me. As I'm yet to "glow", they must mean that I'm a stone lighter than last time they saw me with a fat middle!!

JammyTummy · 22/03/2013 10:37

Nursery furniture is here! I feel sorry for the poor guy lugging all those boxes up the stairs! As a way of making conversation I said to him 'gosh, I feel so bad! Feel like I should help you' (haha obviously). He then took a good few seconds to look at me (nah, she doesn't look like she's up to the task) and went 'no its ok thank you'!
Ha! Bless him!

CharlW1 · 22/03/2013 10:44

Kim I have been having stitch like pain too - feels like it is near my ovaries and occasionally goes under my tum. It woke me up last night and made me sit up and it stayed around for a few hours. I mentioned it to the midwife at my appointment yesterday and she said it's everything stretching and you get all sorts of aches and pains - though it hasn't stopped me worrying.

Midwife appointment was good yesterday - the student midwife listened to the babies heartbeat - although for a good minute we were actually listening to my heart beat and it was only when I mentioned that it sounded a bit slow did the actual midwife pipe up that we were listening to my heart beat! she then found babies which was 140bpm - I'm convinced I am having a boy. Not too long to find out Smile

Manoodledo · 22/03/2013 11:20

I think it might be time to stop weighing myself already. I seem to have put on about three-quarters of a stone! Not sure where it's all gone as I'm not a lot fatter and I don't even have a big bump - can still fit into my old jeans, just, as long as I don't sit down (then I need to undo the zip!) Maybe it's mainly my boobs!

frogchops · 22/03/2013 11:34

Have come for some advice....please :-(
Have had blood results back and combined with scan my downs odds are 1:140. The midwife said she wouldn't have even called if it had been 1:150 as that's considered low.
She's offered me amino tests, and I'm really struggling with thinking about what I should do....so I'm pretty much asking what you would do? Don't worry about offending/saying the wrong thing, I'd really appreciate honest answers. Would you have amnio to be sure? My oh says quite rightly that its a 0.7% chance which is low and the risk of mc is between 0.5-1%. Help!

JammyTummy · 22/03/2013 12:58

Oh frog that's such a tough spot to be in. I suppose it just depends on whether you know what you would do with your test results once you had them? 1 in 140 is suuuuuuch a slim chance though!

swaye · 22/03/2013 13:06

Nuchal result back hip hip hoorah! 1 in 1306 Very pleased with that given my age. Can officially tell everyone now woohoo!!!!

astroming · 22/03/2013 13:24

Sorry to hear your results frog im still waiting for mine and am still unsure what i would do so cant offer you my thoughts.

While i have been researching the topic though i came across a website thats supposed to be excellent. Its antenatal choices and results charity and they offer free advice. Their website is www.arc-uk.org

Good luck with whatever you decide.

frogchops · 22/03/2013 13:35

Thanks astro, will have a look. I think I'm out of time to have the same scan done privately being 14 weeks today, but still they could come up with a higher risk! I keep thinking that its such a low risk, but my nt was 1.5mm and I'm only 29.... So something is clearly wrong with my bloods. I don't know the details of blood results, do u think mw would tell me?
DP wants to carry on, pretend we don't know and not have amino, but them I know I'll worry so much throughout. :-/ I could cry again

FrootLoops · 22/03/2013 13:47

Frogchops

I got my nuchal results a couple of weeks ago and my risk was 1:117. We decided not to get the amnio because we would be continuing with the pregnancy regardless. The only reason I got the test was so that I had time to do some research on Down Syndrome and prepare myself before the baby was born if the risk was very high. What we decided was that regardless of the odds there are two outcomes - our baby will be affected by DS or it won't be and we made our choice on how we felt about that.

It probably doesn't help you but that was my experience.

Eeeknumber3 · 22/03/2013 13:47

frog god what a position to be in, really feel for you...it's tangibly about the most difficult area of risk to be in I guess. So aggravating/upsetting for you, as slightly less risk and they wouldn't even have worried you with it and a greater risk and the decision to have the amino would be easier I would imagine. Really crappy. It is still a very small risk, but I have to be honest, once I'd had the phone call etc, I would probably let the process happen and go for the amnio, but that's just me. If it helps, I talked to two of the mums at school, when I was waiting for my results, who told me they both had to have the amnio with their DD's (who are both fine and at school with my DD), one of them got 1:4 and one got 1:35 from the nuchal. They said the amnio is just an odd sensation, not painful so to speak, what they both found reassuring was seeing the baby on the screen through the whole thing. I'm so sorry, I'm sure all will be fine, I just see ow difficult your position is...x
