Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

Congrats again, Guinea. Glad everything went well, albeit not quite as planned.

Hooya, good luck with your scan.

Practising, I hope baby shows up sooner rather than later.

Gary, I've had size comments all the way along. It does annoy, doesn't it?

Wing, I don't recall who that may have been, but you are asking pregnant ladies to remember stuff!

DH arrived home with an iPhone for me last night. Cue loads of faffing by me since then. Sure I'll get use to it soon!

OP posts:
GaryBuseysTeeth · 24/04/2013 09:00

Wing, LadyFlumpalot popped in to say she was 16wks back around the 29th, so I think notso is still the baby of the group Grin
I still lurk on the JS thread, but aside from Bear & Rock there are only a few who were there when I was JS, there are a few in the 2WW so hopefully we'll acquire some noobs soon, so many close to popping!

6 to 10 in half an hour! Guinea, that's super. Sorry about the protein, heartrate & being transferred.

I have very leaky boobs, how some women bf whilst pregnant is beyond me, I tip my hat to them!

MrsBri, ooh shiny things! Enjoy the iPhone.

I don't mind the comments, I just wish they were worded slightly better!

thethreeblondies · 24/04/2013 09:30

Hi ladies, I'm still about, think I arrived around the same time as notso I'm nearly 15 weeks, its lovely hearing all about the arrival of all your babies (not too Envy honest!)but yeah we definitely need some newbies or it's going to get lonely! Where did frog go? I may go do some stalking hunting down!

ChildOfThe1980s · 24/04/2013 14:23

Pineapple the BH are always painful, and I don't feel the tightening really, more like period pain.

Could be any day now Practicing :)

MrsBri · 24/04/2013 14:29

Ah, Child, so that period-type pain I'm getting is BH? And there was me thinking I wasn't getting them!

OP posts:
Pineapple80 · 25/04/2013 00:28

Sounds like BH are different for everyone. Sorry to hear they're painful for u Child & MrsBri.

WingDefence · 25/04/2013 02:59

Morning all. My BH were never painful but my whole belly would go rock hard and I'd not be able to bend over etc as easily or walk quite as easily because it was just a bit trickier.

Pineapple80 · 25/04/2013 06:14

Morning Wing! Mine are much as you have described. Turns into a hard bump. Tends to look hard too if that is even possible!

WingDefence · 25/04/2013 07:17

Yes it was funny later on when people asked to feel the bump ;only close friends and family so I didn't mind) and it'd often be rock hard and I think people got a bit of a shock Grin

ChildOfThe1980s · 25/04/2013 21:07

People get BH differently I guess. I don't like the pain, but it makes me think that my body is getting ready for labour, which is a good thing as I am getting fed up of being pregnant now! Although I have had a very easy time of it, so shouldn't complain.

My friend is very active (work-related) and has been told by her MW that her baby will probably be early because of that. She gets loads of BHs.

Hope that doesn't mean that mine will be late as I am not very active at all. :/ My DS was 11 days late- don't think I could cope with that again. And he was huge- another reason to not want a late one.

Practisingparent · 25/04/2013 21:13

Jealous of all this talk of BH, Im 40 +1 and haven't had any (I dont count period type pains), or leaky boobs, Gary which I would also count as a pre labour symptom. My DH has been talking about nipple stimulation recently.

So my induction is booked for a week friday, had a failed sweep yesterday. Cervix is soft (thanks EPO) but still far up and stubbonly closed. I have booked for another tomorrow, but really feel like nothing is happening, and won't for a while.

Was so emotional all day yesterday, dh took day off, just to give me some extra support. Feeling a bit more positive today, but wondering what to do with the next week, suggestions welcome. Im avoiding all social occasions, because I just can't bear to answer all the same questions all over again. 'are you still here?' etc

ChildOfThe1980s · 26/04/2013 11:02

Practicing I have had only a handful of BHs, and none of them when your stomach goes hard. Nor any leaking.

How about a cinema trip or a meal out with your DH before baby comes? Or buy yourself some books or DVDs?

WingDefence · 27/04/2013 11:13

Morning all - have you seen this on the BBC website about delayed cord clamping?

wavesandsmiles · 27/04/2013 11:25

I've been spreading the word on this on my due date thread, and several people are really interested in the delayed cord clamping. It is something that is on my birth plan. Along with the placenta being given to my doula so she can make me a smoothie afterwards to help with reducing post partum bleeding and my mill coming in. less people are keen on that idea though....

Still being sick all the time, and yet to gain any weight - 26 + 4 now, and hoping my little one is growing ok when I am scanned again, which is in 3 and a half weeks time.

How is everyone getting on?

WingDefence · 27/04/2013 14:29

waves - are you really serious about the smoothie?! Wow, never heard of that before.

I wanted delayed cord clamping then the injection afterwards to help the delivery of the placenta but in the end of course it must have been half hour before the paramedic arrived and delivered it (which apparently they don't like doing for some reason Confused).

MrsAVB · 27/04/2013 17:06

Hi everyone, may I hop on board, graduating from the JSing thread? I've take 2 HPTs Thursday and today, both BFPs. Very excited, but crapping myself too. Have read through the thread and know a lot of you are much further ahead but am hoping there's room for a little one!
My EDD is 6th January, and it will be baby #1.
Xxx

StuckOnARollercoaster · 27/04/2013 17:30

Welcome and congrats MrsAVB

And also I don't think I've been on since our latest arrival - congrats to Guinea and Eleanor Flowers

Wing - I have started to think about labour and birth lately and was of a mind to request delayed cord clamping, but now I think that its going to be a definite request if its not standard when I go in.

Starting to feel more like this pregnancy and baby are real now (34 weeks today!) - the bump is getting in the way of normal activities like sitting at a desk and driving, am constantly being prodded from within by ministuck and I have nearly finished my baby shopping (quite chuffed about a 99p grobag I've just won on ebay!!!).

We have been to our first antenatal class last week, and I can start going to some of the things that are only on in the day like the guided/hypno birth classes. Have discovered that there is an advantage to living next to a rough deprived area - there is a brilliant childrens centre and most of the stuff on in the centre is free - its going to be a godsend when the baby is here and as he/she becomes a toddler...

I'm really enjoying my extended mat leave - slowly ticking things off on the list and pottering about the house. Next major activity is to do some painting which I'll start tackling towards end of next week - I am officially in 'nesting' mode!

Hope everyone else is well - and have some nice plans for the weekend/next week. I am so hoping we finally get some nice weather to enjoy...

Pineapple80 · 28/04/2013 01:26

Welcome MrsAVB! Very exciting times ahead for you!

Hi there Stuck! 34 wks now, yay! Well done on winning 99p grobag, got to love a bargain on eBay! I am doing the opposite and selling stuff on there. Recently relocated from UK to Oz and discovered so much stuff I could live without (and make a bit if money on!). Hope the next 6 wks go well for you Smile.

Tired - loving ur recent photo on FB, your babies are adorable!!

Something - Henry is sooo cute, def getting bigger and chubbier Grin!

Well, I am 32 wks today and only 8 wks left. Really can't believe it. I think we have bought everything except baby car seat which we will buy very soon. Need to grab some breast pads and nappy bucket (I'm going to give modern cloth nappies a go). Our baby furniture should arrive in the next 2 wks, which is late but hopefully ok timing. I often feel overwhelmed, been a great pregnancy so far but have had so many events moving back here to Oz and the worries of work etc. We have done well though and can't wait to meet baby Pineapple Smile.

I hope everyone else is doing well? Hope you have a great rest of weekend x

wavesandsmiles · 28/04/2013 20:12

Welcome MrsAVB!

Wing here is a link to the placenta smoothie thing. I figure that after all I've been through this pg, I need to give myself the best possible shot at a speedy post partum recovery!

placentanetwork.com/placenta-smoothies/

It was another day at hospital for me - hoping that the sun might make me start to feel a bit better soon. However, I am nearly 27 weeks now, so do feel that the end is getting closer.

Pineapple80 · 29/04/2013 00:41

That is really interesting about the placenta Waves. I'm going to have a read of it but don't think I could actually do it myself! I do hope you start feeling better soon and so sorry to hear you were in hospital again. Hmm

I had a bit do light pink bleed after JSing last night. A little scary but it has happened a few times now and think my cervix is sensitive and have to get DH to be more gentle Blush. T wasn't bright blood but pinky and didn't seem to be there a few hrs later... Will speak to the midwife/Dr when I see them this Thurs. got my 32 wk growth scan this afternoon, hoping all is well with baby.

How is everyone doing? Monday morning here & wishing everyone a good week ahead x

WingDefence · 29/04/2013 04:39

waves I can't open that link on my phone so will try later.

pineapple when I had my show every I Internet page I read on it first said that it's common after JSing so I wouldn't worry too much but do raise it.

DD fed 2-10:30 yesterday with only 20-25 min breaks in between Confused But then went 10:30-4:15 sleeping :)

Welcome to MrsAVB too! Have a Brew :)

MrsAVB · 29/04/2013 10:37

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone. I will have a Brew, as long as no one slips any placenta in it, not sure I'm ready for that yet haha!
Xxx

tiredteddy · 29/04/2013 10:43

Thanks pineapple! Good luck at tour 32 week growth scan. I do like the sound of the care you get lots more chances to see baby than you do here!

Welcome MrsAVB and congratulations. I'm still lurking here with my mumsnet friends dd is now 15 weeks! The next thread is starting to fill up but a little quietWink

Waves, I know someone who had placenta capsules made to taje along with herbal remedies after suffering twice with pnd. She swears it made the difference and shedding get or that time. You definitely deserve some good health!

Hi to everyone else x

ChildOfThe1980s · 29/04/2013 14:21

Congrats MrsAVB :D

I have been having mild contractions every 30 minutes or so since 3 this morning. They are not getting any worse or closer together, so they must be BH right? They do feel a bit different from the usual period-type pain I've been having, but still far too mild for me to worry about.

Pineapple80 · 01/05/2013 03:33

Child - how are you doing today? Just wondered if the contractions were just BH or did they progress? Hope you're well regardless!

My 32 wk scan went ok, baby is healthy but measuring small for dates I am told. I will get info about percentiles etc tomorrow when I meet with the Dr at my appointment. They have sent me for yet another growth scan for 2 wks time to ensure baby is growing at an acceptable rate. I do feel physically that my bump is getting a lot bigger this week. So fingers crossed baby continues to grow and all is well.

How is everyone this week?
