OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

tuckingfits I'm so sorry you're feeling rubbish. Constant nausea is hard work. I've had it too and only felt slightly human for the last couple of days, I'm still nauseous, but at least I'm getting little breaks in it now. Hope it gets easier for you too.

Honest, I was rubbish over the weekend, the only thing I could think about was how miserable I was feeling, but it does get better, so hold in there! :)

FeministInTraining · 06/03/2013 16:53

Rainbow it probably depends on the area but where I live they told me to go to a&e- I called to check with them as I thought it was extreme but they told me to go in, did blood tests and referred me to EPU for a scan the next day. Spotting can be normal on early pregnancy but they still advise you to take it seriously- and I know how stressful it is being at work when you're not sure things are ok. Don't worry about taking time off- if the worst was to happen- I really hope it doesn't- you would probably want to be at home tucked up in bed. I was getting year 12 to sign for textbooks at the point I mc'd, and then had an awful journey home. Exam class or not, your health always comes first xx

RainbowsFriend · 06/03/2013 17:22

Thanks again ladies. Feminist - we had almost the same experience there - my last miscarriage I was discussing retake options/ jan results with my year 12 and felt I couldn't leave!

I'm a bit more optimistic as the nausea is back, and the spotting has stopped! It did flow for a bit, but was always brown not red - so I think that's hopeful, yes?

Never thought I'd be glad to have the nausea back! Grin

racheld33 · 06/03/2013 17:38

Yay, so glad nausea is back for you rainbow (as odd as that sounds)

Been to GP today and stocked up on my cyclizine, ranitadine, and gastricote tablets-my baby is going to rattle!

chickieno1 · 06/03/2013 17:39

Fingers crossed everything is ok Rainbow

Hope you get through the evening ok tuckingfits

pinksky · 06/03/2013 17:44

Ah tucking sorry you're having a rough time of it. I hope work goes quickly and you're home tucked up in bed soon.

rainbow I'm sorry to hear you're spotting, I echo what everyone else says- take the rest of the week off if you can. I still have brown spotting but it definitely eases up if I'm inactive! I had a LOT last week, incl that big clot that took me to the epu but it was all ok, touch wood. So try not to be too despondent, but also don't suffer at home in silence if you're worried. And as others have said try to get a scan sooner, either self refer t the epu if you can, or even the emergency dept.

Everyone else, hope you're all doing well and not suffering too much with ms/sore backs etc. I have rotten heartburn, but have GORD anyway, so wasn't expecting an easy ride with that. Going to have to lay off the bread.

Flyer747 · 06/03/2013 17:45

Fingers crossed everything is ok Rainbow and that's gotta be a positive sign now the nausea is back

Feelinghungry · 06/03/2013 18:01

Rainbow definitely do NOT feel bad about taking time off. The trouble with our profession is that we always feel we are letting our students/other staff members down, if we miss a day of work for sickness, so we come in anyway. It's ridiculous!

It is important you put yourself first at the moment, you are number 1, not your classes. Rest if you need to. Fingers crossed for you xx

fish88 · 06/03/2013 18:03

MS has officially kicked in at 6+4, was just starting to think that maybe I was one of the lucky ones that wasn't going to get it!

JellyCurls · 06/03/2013 18:25

10 weeks and I officially have "placenta brain". I am sure my boss must think I sent an identical twin who's a bit dumb to work today. Oh well I gave everyone a laugh if nothing else. Only about another 30 weeks of stupidity to come Wink

Haylebop12 · 06/03/2013 19:09

rachel I'm on cyclizine too, along with metachlopramide. Couldn't live without it.

Still incredibly nauseas here although am feeling much brighter. Walked to pick dd up from school (literally 3 minutes) and felt awful when I got in! I love walking to get her and driving is a little off limits ATM but I've had a normal days eating so there's a bonus Smile

Craving at the mo sweet chilli baked stars, on offer at the co-op so picked up the last two multipacks they had!

Got another week or so off work but think I'm going to get the doc to sign me off for another couple. These meds make you very drowsy so would like to be off them really before I go back. Also we get the keys to our Ouse on Tuesday so would be handy if I was around to sort out Grin since we're downsizing to be in a better area!

racheld33 · 06/03/2013 19:41

haylebop I am dozy all the time on the cyclizine!
When pregnant with DS i was admitted at 7 weeks and was on them till 24 weeks. I only am sick about 1-2 times a day on the tablets, but normally 70% of day have bad nausea.
I only work 2 days a week at the moment, so have been ok (ish) there, but I look in people's mouth all day so difficult when gagging behind my mask! Grin

Can't believe your moving house with DD and Hyperemesis, that is brave! Brew

Haylebop12 · 06/03/2013 19:49

Fortunately the cyclizine stops me being sick but the nausea is immense!! We're not actually moving on Tuesday as DH is working so technically moving Thursday. Tbh it's been a godsend being with my mum and dad because my mum has done so much for me with dd. don't know what I would have done without her.

I was admitted last year but only the once and had a scan at 7+4. This pregnancy I've been in 3 times, so far. I joked "see you next week" I didn't mean it at the time!

Feeling like I'm gaining some control back!

roofio87 · 06/03/2013 20:02

sorry so many of you are feeling really rough

I've had a hard day today, a friend of mine has lost her baby at 36 weeks so we're all devastated. will count myself very lucky if I make it to my 12 weeks with all ok xx

roofio87 · 06/03/2013 20:03

sorry, I didn't mean to drag the thread down with that post, its just on my mind more than other ever would have been before!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/03/2013 20:14

tuckingfits, I felt rubbish last Friday too, even though I wasn't actually being sick I felt horrible. And the constant nausea on the days it is not that bad does wear you down. Mine is back with a vengance today after a couple of not too bad days. The sore boobs are back too. I know what you mean about feeling a bit pathetic and fraudulent as you are not actually being sick, though.

Rainbow, so pleased the spotting has stopped and sickness is back. I would still suggest calling in sick if you are at all worried about it. I agree teachers never take time off but really you should put yourself first on this occasion. Can you self refer to your EPU? Mine you can if you have had previous miscarriages, otherwise you can go through GP or A&E.

Roofio that is awful news. Your poor friend. I can't imagine how that must feel.

Livened · 06/03/2013 20:18

You haven't at all roofio - I'm sure we've all had our fair share of sad pregnancy experiences - yours just happens to be today :-(

My SIL had a still birth at full term - I was pregnant too at the time with DS - she now has a beautiful baby boy of nearly a year ;-) Things will get better for her as time passes - im sure youre being a brilliant friend to her and I wish her all the love in the world at this horrible time xxx

pinksky · 06/03/2013 20:34

Ah roofio how awful. I'm so sorry for your friend. You didn't drag things down. It's so sadly one of the realities of pregnancy. Take care X

Natalieand · 06/03/2013 22:09

Lots if sickness and bad news floating around, lots of love to those needing it xxxx

Just got into bed feeling sorry for myself my back has been so painful the last few days its un real struggling to lift dd up especially ito her caraway and killing my back leaning over to strap her in. Can't even keep my eyes open to have a half decent convo with hubby yet now I've come to bed I feel wide awake. I have to wait in for parcel delivery tommorow so just gunna try put y feet up all day and do something quick and easy for dinner that involves minimal effort and washing up lol. 8 weeks today! 4 weeks exactly till 12 week scan/screening. Seeing midwife for GTT she's coming to my house to do the blood test.
Boy am I wishing I lost weight before ttc again my weight didn't cause me an issue when expecting dd1 I was size 18-20 this time I'm more of a 22 and feel shattered from it already and wondering how big I'm gunna be :-( (please don't judge me). Have done lots more walking this week walking dd to playschool and back (40 ish min toys trip) instead of driving and trying to eat plenty of fruit as I'm not a huge veg fan, I don't mind a little but I'm quite fussy with veg. Sorry for my moans rant just sick of feeling sorry for myself along with this stinking cold that's dragged on since Saturday and the rediculous amount of soreness/stingyness my boobs r giving me. Roll on 12 weeks when I can crack out my maternity jeans! I'm not finding my clothes uncomfortable ATM except for after a meal they feel a big snug but that seems to be the same for everyone ATM

Will keep my fingers crossed for every one expecting scans in the next few days

Ps is there a November thread yet? Xxx

Natalieand · 06/03/2013 22:11

Apologies for all my typos silly iPhone. Hopefully u can make some sense of what I've rambled on about lol xxx

Haylebop12 · 06/03/2013 22:18

Yep natalie and they've filled about half their first thread! Time is moving!

MrsExcited · 06/03/2013 22:28

Ooh we're not the latest news anymore! That feels odd

funkky · 06/03/2013 22:32

natalie there is a November thread. Was snooping around yesterday and they have one full thread already!! Explains the late MW appointment am having as hospital said they are having to fit so many pregnant women in. Shock

roofio sorry about your friend, a friend of mine lost hers at 20 weeks, she is coming to stay with me over the weekend for a change of environment, problem is she doesn't know am pregnant cos we haven't really told anyone yet. Nt sure how to handle it really......I didn't know she was pg until she mc.

Symptoms have been full on, stopped being sick after going off pregnancy vitamins, just sticking to folic acid +vit. D but hips still sore and can't wait for MW appointment next week!

funkky · 06/03/2013 22:37
