Over here Ladies!

As the title suggests our fore runners will almost certainly hit 37 weeks this thread.

And the wonderful little Alex will hopefully continue to go from strength to strength and edge closer to the door home with Mama

I'm not too bad in bed at moment, started eating dinner earlier to cut down nighttime indigestion and stopped drinking after 9.30ish to lessen toilet trips both which helped.

But for 2 days now I've had quite sore lower back, mostly when sitting or standing still (walking eases it) also keep feeling like bump is pressing down quite sorely.

I hope everyone is having nice weekend and lots of feet are up!!

Still not packed hospital bag...

alwayshopeful13 · 16/03/2013 17:21

Hello all,

It's been ages since I posted - I can't keep up enough to get involved but I do read often. Only 4 days left in work so once mat leave kicks in I'll try and get better!

Congrats to all those whose babes have arrived - seems like loads! Very exciting (and makes the prospect of me actually having a baby in my arms in a few weeks all the more real!!!).

Hope you're all enjoying getting to know your little ones and that everyone else is surviving the various foibles of the last stages of pregnancy. I can't imagine lasting another 5 weeks feeling so achey and tired, but hey ho that's the territory I guess (though if another well-meaning person tells me that it's all good preparation for the sleep deprivation that awaits I will hit them!).

Also welcome to new people (sorry - really out of sync with what's been going on so can't name check).

xx

Hi all- yes, yes, yes to being constantly uncomfortable! It's only really started for me over the last couple of days. Got zero sleep yesterday because of heatburn- I've never had it before- my goodness it was AWFUL! I've got some gaviscon now- cant face another night like last night neither can DH, I was somewhat grumpy at 3 this morning!

Can't believe we're full term tomorrow! username - I'm going to do the same, not eating late and stopping drinking at 9 ish- I just need a proper nights sleep! And always - I hear you on the well-intentioned words of others. " ooooh, you think you're tired now? Just wait until 3 weeks time!" Oh do fuck off!

36+6!!!

Xxx

alwayshopeful13 · 16/03/2013 18:29

Good thinking username and wishful about not eating/drinking too late. I've not suffered with heartburn luckily, but might try not drinking too late to reduce the twilight disruption....feeling really wrecked at the mo, not helped by work being pretty stressful (4 DAYS!!!!!!). And of course the nighttime toilet trips plus backache plus baby kicking my ribs plus generally feeling like a tanker (DH joked earlier that he'd hire a mini forklift for the next few weeks to help me get myself out of bed!).

And so YES to telling people to take a flying leap with the whole "Your whole life is about to change. Really it is. And not just what you think is a good night's sleep." Yes thanks - when I decided to HAVE A CHILD I thought everything would probably just tick along like it used to. GRR!!

Rant over. Back to rugby watching. Poor old England.

EmpressMatilda · 16/03/2013 19:05

At my MiL's in Devon. I have nausea, diarrhoea, weird ravenous hunger, period pains and twinges pretty low down. Have been sent to bed as apparently I look very pale!

Really hope this is just something I ate or a bug rather than an indication labour is imminent. My DH would love it if baby was born in his beloved Devon but I would be unimpressed. I have tons to do next week.

num3onway · 16/03/2013 19:46

Ooo empress if things are starting for you you have a jealous due date buddy over here!
I also have loads left to do but I just don't care. I can juggle a newborn I just need my body back! I've had constant heatburn today even though I've been downing gaviscon. I have managed to do abit around the house although it looks no better at all. My hospital BAg is about one third packed. I'm kinda hoping that by not finishing it it'll make me go into labour so I have to do it in a big rush. Hmmm maybe.

wishful I know what you mean about the tiredness comments, I too have had those exact same words about wait until the baby comes etc!

Does anyone else have hiccups in pregnancy? Not the baby, but you? I have had terrible hiccups since about 3 months and heartburn but tonight my hiccups are just relentless. They leave a funny taste in my mouth, think it's combined with heartburn and I'm fed up of it now. Seems to be worse in evenings but get them several times a day. My DH thinks this is very weird! Does anyone else have hiccups? I'm on heartburn tablets but they no longer help. Doctor and midwife not really bothered about it!

More lovely baby news from tattooed Grin

Welcome knew Glad you have dived straight in! This is my second DD due April 5th. Do you know what you're having?

Bonadea how are you getting on? An I correct in thinking you are being induced on Monday? Exciting!

Dysgu how is little Evan getting on? Hoping you are finding the expressing a bit easier.

DH has spent today packing the garage & study so I took DD to the national trust property down the road. She really enjoyed the adventure playground and we had a lovely morning. She is turning into mummy's little helper, she has been helping me load and unload the washing machine, fold washing etc for a few months. Today I caught her taking one of my socks, wiping her nose on if and then putting it in the clean washing pile! Nice Grin

37 + 1 here today & feeling great. Definately not ready for a baby yet I'm still busy packing boxes.

Congratulations tattooed! :)

Yes, I'm horribly uncomfortable. In bed now after a busy shift but despite a warm bath and pain killers my back really aches. I'm also having Braxton hicks gosh I hope they're BH!

knew I'm only the next county over in Lincolnshire! I'm up for a Midlands meet up!

I'm so relieved I have tomorrow off. Plan to go to church then do the hospital tour so we know what it's like before we go.

usernamegoeshere · 16/03/2013 21:19

knew I have had hiccups since about 9 weeks, usually 1 or 2 per hour sometimes I get little periods of regular ones

toobreathless that sounds like you had a nice day, dunno where you all get your energy from though, since moving house at 32 weeks I can hardly wobble to the local shops and back without wanting a nap.

Back still hurting :(

toobreathless · 16/03/2013 21:20

Oooh yes good point Faith how far is Birmingham from us? knew before you think I am utterly bonkers I am about to move (well 3 days before my due date) to Lincoln. My husband will then be going away in May for 4 to 6 months to the states so any kind of socialising would be great! I'm a bit scared about being very socially isolated!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 16/03/2013 21:23

Oh yes and the bloody Just you wait comments. I have a friend who had a baby in December and every comment on Facebook is like that. 'Bank your sleep while you can' (never mind the third trimester insomnia), 'you don't know what you're facing'. We TTC'd for over 2 1/2 years. We have a 3 year old nephew and saw how my sister and BIL were after he was born! We're as ready as we'll ever be and yet we know there's no real way to prepare for it. These comments are not helpful! :)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 16/03/2013 21:24

X-posts too! It's about 2 hours from Brum tops. 1 hours 45 mins now they've improved the A46! Don't worry, I need friends with kids too so I will be looking you up! :)

toobreathless · 16/03/2013 22:09

Excellent faith I look forward to it Grin

A midlands ish meet up would be ace xx

EmpressMatilda · 16/03/2013 22:47

Well, I had a paracetamol and a couple of hours nap and feel much better so must have been a false alarm thank goodness!

I still have twinges very low down and BH which I never had before today. But it's not severe.

But looking at pics of your cute twins tattooed it makes me feel I wouldn't mind so much if it happened now!

CheeseAndMushroomToastie · 16/03/2013 23:31

Just a quick one I say I would be interested in a midlands meet up too! Will read properly and post tomorrow. Wink

wishfulthinking1 · 17/03/2013 02:27

I can't sleep because I have the shits!!! Blush

Typical- I reach full term and get food poisoning!!!

X

JaquelineHyde · 17/03/2013 06:53

wishful it may not be food poisoning, it could be your body clearing itself out ready for labour, I remember with my first I had this really badly and then all the next day horrible back ache, then I went into labour the following night.

It's quite a natural prep for labour apparently, so keep an eye out Grin

JaquelineHyde · 17/03/2013 07:02

Oh and can some of you shed some light on this please.

Last night just after lying down to sleep, the bump was having a good old wriggle and then it suddenly felt as though he had got into a position where it felt like he was going to burst out of my stomach!

Everything felt really tight and slightly uncomfortable, so I gave my tummy a bit of a feel and thought it was odd that I couldn't feel any hard bits where the tight about to explode bit was.

A few mins later the same happened again, I honestly felt like he was going to try and exlode out alien style from my tummy button, but again there were no baby bits where the pressure/tightness was and he was wriggling around like mad whilst I had this sensation so I am pretty sure it wasn't him.

This happened several times over 40 mins until I fell asleep.

It has dawned on me this morning that it may have been braxton hicks?

I have never had them before not even in my last pg so can't be certain. Does what I have felt sound like it could be or am I going mad? Grin

It wasn't painful at all but the pressure/tightness made me Shock each time it first began because it was quite sudden but then it just felt a bit weird until suddenly it was no longer there Confused

35+3 (4+4 to go Hu-bloody-rrah)

Fluffeh · 17/03/2013 07:55

jh sounds like BH's to me. They took me by surprise in bed the first time, DP was panicking thinking it was labour haha!

I know I'm the size of a house and yes moving around is stupidly hard but why do people think its helpful to say my baby is coming in the next week? She isn't ready! I'm 34 weeks today, she would be tiny and need help. Is it because they like to stress out pg women?
I'd be quite happy anytime from 37 weeks but not now! Gosh people are annoying. Rant over haha!

Crazytictac · 17/03/2013 08:53

empress glad everything settled down for you in the end

wishful oh no, how horrible. Hope it resolves itself fast.

jh I know exactly what you mean. My stomach can go rock hard for hours at a time. Can't feel baby as such but honestly feels like it is going to pop open it is so tight. Mentioned it to midwife and she said it was normal?! Don't recall having it like this on my first but hey ho.

fluffeh I had a really stupid comment from a man sitting next to me in a cafe last week about his dil losing her baby at 8 months. I couldn't believe he said it seeing I was heavily pregnant and wonder if some people are just naturally insensitive.

And to all those getting the comments about getting used to the sleepless nights, all our friends and family know that DS still doesn't sleep through so we're used to it and have by and large escaped those annoying comments. Ha!

Giddypants · 17/03/2013 09:29

morning everyone. hope you've all had a great weekend.
fluffet I know what you mean by people saying negative things about your pregnancy. someone who I never met yold me I was about to go into labour on Christmas dayShock Hmm

great to hear about all the new arrivals. twins are gorgeousGrin

9 days left until section day Grin Grin Grin

Yay it's sunday, now the question is do I actually have a productive day and go do some cleaning and tidying up or do I spend all day lazing on the sofa reading just because it's sunday?! Wink
I agree with the annoying comments, at school random teachers who I don't even know their names always make annoying comments, when I was about 27 weeks one of them said to me "oh are you due any day now?" I was a size 12 pre-pregnancy and I haven't put on that much weight so that really wasn't the best way to boost my confidence!!!!!

oh and congrats to my due date buddies we're full term today!I'm going to jump at every twinge I feel from now Grin

num3onway · 17/03/2013 12:54

What pain relief is evryone planning on going for?

I've had both gas n air and pethidine in my previous two labours. Desperate to stay away from the pethidine this time as I don't think it does me any good!
