Oh dear, I'm a hormonal wreck. Just cried during a meeting with my clinical coach at work. She only asked how I was finding my new part-time role (boring & frustrating actually). So embarrassing Blush

vix206 · 12/03/2013 14:21

I know it's easy for me to say but to those if you fretting about lack of symptoms, try to chill out and make the most of the days you feel well. My last pregnancy was almost symptomless, I had a few days of feeling rough but largely just felt normal. My DS was born healthy and happy. Just because you feel well sometimes really does not have to mean anything is wrong. And worrying won't help anyway.

Like I say, easier said than done but just don't like to see so many people worrying Wink

suprisepitstop · 12/03/2013 14:42

Thanks Vix, very wise words. it is hard though, this is my first pregnancy and i cant feel anything apart from tired and grouchy. i keep wondering if anything is happening, and if it isnt that i would like to know sooner so i can toddle off and have a pint of consolitary wine!
We are just told to eat and drink nothing nice and to wait until someone invited us in for a chat sometime in next 30 years!

MTB82 · 12/03/2013 14:42

Thanks vix that's good to know!!

suprisepitstop · 12/03/2013 14:44

Sorry, you can tell im having a grouchy day!! Its the lack of action that is gettingvto me. at 6+3 its a long old slog

MummaPanda · 12/03/2013 15:00

Noooooo!! I really hoped this wouldn't happen this pregnancy, its the worst symptom ever, how am I going to cope?!?
I've ..... Gone ..... Off ...... Chocolate!!!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaahaaaaaaaaa!!!
I've no will to go on!!
Sad Sad Sad

Fairydogmother · 12/03/2013 15:13

Lol mumma! I'm making up for it - eating Easter eggs!

retroelle · 12/03/2013 15:15

Saw my GP today, and my booking-in appt will be 2nd week in April. I had to choose where to give birth (already!) and had my BP and weight checked, so less underwhelming than expected. I've opted for the local (very fancy) midwife-led unit, and this also means I can see the midwife at the surgery 2 mins from my house.

Flushed with excitement I have also booked an early scan before my upcoming long-haul work trip, which breaks up the long wait for the 12-week scan a bit.

busyprocrastinating · 12/03/2013 15:23

Just to second what Vix said. To be honest I never felt so healthy during pg which I think was mainly due to the fact I was making sure I really l

busyprocrastinating · 12/03/2013 15:24

Oops posted too soon! ... looked after myself and wasn't drinking or staying up late or any of those things that seem a distant memory now.

retroelle · 12/03/2013 15:27

I'm glad others aren't really "feeling" pregnant, as I am also feeling really well. I've had the occasional moment of RAGE (due to the clearly unreasonable behaviour of other humans, mind you) and my boobs are a fraction bigger if you squint and a bit sore if you give them a good squish, but otherwise nothing. It would be foolish to wish for nausea etc ...

Dizzy81 · 12/03/2013 15:29

Thanks vix, i shall take deep breaths and stay calm.
Mummapanda the sames happened to me. All I want to eat is melon and salt and vinegar crisps. Last week I wa craving malt liam.
Surprise, here's my large bar of Cadbury dairy milk for you.
Retrolle, exciting news

Theicingontop · 12/03/2013 15:36

I think it's safe to say that my milk has dried up! DS is distraught. Last night he woke me asking for milk, and I gave it a go and it just hurt so much, he wasn't getting a thing. The end of an era for us. He was upset and didn't quite understand.

I can't eat anything fatty or greasy. It makes me feel so sick, as does anything that fills my belly too much. I'm finding small quantities of dry food is helping my nausea. I feel like a hamster though sitting here with my small bowl of bombay mix...

MTB82 · 12/03/2013 15:53

retroele has anyone given you any advice re l

vix206 · 12/03/2013 15:54

Icing. I stopped feeding DS just before Xmas and it can be a very sad time. Look after yourself that little but extra over the next week x

MTB82 · 12/03/2013 15:55

retroele has anyone given you any advice re long haul trips. I'm flying to oz soon, is there anything I should be bearing in mind. I asked midwife and they just said it was up to me and to just make sure I drank lots of water, walke around regularly and wore compression socks. The "it's up to you" made me a bit worried that I could potentially be doing something wrong....

MTB, I asked the GP and he said it was fine but to ensure I had lots of fluids, same as your advice. He said at the moment I could do more or less anything (abseiling was his example) without it being harmful, though. He also said to be careful with the food, but that's less of a concern for you. You're so lucky to go to oz - are you going on holiday?

My personal take on this is that most early miscarriages are due to some problem with the embryo, and flying won't change that. I'm having a private scan to get some idea about the viability of the pregnancy, not because of the trip :)

MTB82 · 12/03/2013 16:24

Thanks so much Retroelle that's really reassuring. Yes off on holiday for my DH's best friend's wedding,so excited and we've agreed we'll tell them I'm pg too so will be first people we've told which I'm equally excited about. Would be impossible not to tell them really seeing as one of the big things they've planned for us all is a 2 day wine and cheese tasting tour-doh!!!

Where are you off to with work-v exciting!!

MTB82 · 12/03/2013 16:25

suffolk you poor thing. Feel better thoughts heading your way!!!

Dizzy81 · 12/03/2013 16:39

Suffolk, you poor thing. Sending hugs your way.

My spell this morning was anxiety related, have been given a number to call for a course, which I'm going to do. Feel much better, neurotic moment over.

He explained the first 12 weeks ate in the lap of the gods and miscarriages happen because of a gentic reason.

Feel better and got stomach twinge - yeah

heartonsleeve · 12/03/2013 16:53

Just thought I would check in as haven't posted for a while. Morning sickness really hit over the weekend. I had been feeling sick since about 5 weeks, but actually started being sick in the mornings on Friday. Yesterday was the worst. I woke up at 4am, nibbled on the proverbial biscuit and was then sick 5x before 9am. Needless to say, I took the day off work. I felt awful and panicked as I have low BMI and need all the food I can get. I was also sick in the evening (again, after blinking rich tea biscuit!).

However, this morning was better. I managed not to be sick, by just sipping water for an hour between 6-7am, then nibbled my way s-l-o-w-l-y through some breakfast biccies. And have got steadliy better through the day, with some semblance of appetite. In fact, not I'm panicking because I don't feel sick. Gah. Can't win!!

Downside is, my job was only a temp contract, and I've quit, as I really don't think I can cope with working over the next few weeks. So it's all eyes on the steadily dwindling pennies here! Ah well - growing the bean is more important...

Do hope those of you with sickness have better days too. I think I can cope now that I know I'll have good days and bad. 6+3 today Smile Does anyone else get frustrated with the time it takes to eat things when feeling sick? And (TMI alert) does anybody else have VERY smelly wind? Blush

Mistyshore · 12/03/2013 17:18

heart I've got smelly wind and loose bowels. I was very windy when I was pregnant with ds. DP said he'd never heard me fart until I was pregnant Blush

My boobs are so sore, I'm going to have to go bra shopping. I've just got home and taken my bra off and I feel less sick - I'm really bloated and my bras feel way too tight.

getoffthecoffeetable · 12/03/2013 18:05

suffolk sounds like you're really suffering, hope your DH is looking after you.
Heart have you tried drinking with a straw? Helps me when I'm feeling sick.
Completely agree about the wind problem. When I was pg with DS I got it too do am taking it as a good sign. Month 5 was the worst for wind!
icing it's awful when you have to stop feeding and weren't planning to just yet isn't it?
I got a nasty chest infection and the antibiotics I had to take would've sent his milk teeth yellow if I'd carried on feeding do was forced to stop at 10.5 months. Only 1.5 less than I'd been planning so tried not to beat myself up about it. Warm showers helped.
dizzy excellent news about the stomach twinge!!
MTB your trip to oz sounds amazing. You'll just have to pig out on all the (pasteurised) cheese and be designated driver!

williaminajetfighter · 12/03/2013 19:01

Poor Suffolk and Heartonsleeve being so fainty and sickly. I feel for you.

Like the others I've had very bad gas but like others I've been pretty symptom free since the weekend. This worries me and I'm 100% convinced baby has stopped growing and I'm due for a mc. Am v v paranoid! Am hoping against hope!
