oooh Mawg bit of a crappy one. Although amusing to read the thread - how quickly do these ladies go from funny one-liner responses to 'leave the bastard - he's clearly an evil evil man'. Take it with a pinch of sugar salt??

My DH tried to comment on my minor obsession with Super Noodles a couple of months ago. It didn't go down too well. I know he was right but its hard to stay sane when your hormones are going mental. He's kind of off the hook at the moment because he's given up alcohol for lent. Although I've since heard he's off to look at a 2 seater sports car today as 'a project' for when the baby is born. How much time does he think he will have when baby comes??

SunnyL · 21/02/2013 12:25

Oh and just saw LexiLexi's post. Is there a deadline for paternity forms or is it just your partners work? I have to admit DH asked me for a photocopy of my MAT B1 a few weeks ago but I forgot. Hopefully the police admin team will be as efficient as ever and won't have noticed his elapsed deadline.

learnermummy · 21/02/2013 12:43

Blimey Mawg that's terrible. How dare he?! Especially as you're clearly more restrained than the rest of us as there was an uneaten double decker in your drawer!
I don't know about paternity forms either. I don't have my MATB1 yet as not seeing midwife til 28 weeks. My work aren't bothered about it but DH's might be...

learnermummy · 21/02/2013 13:18

If you need a giggle take a look at this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1688163-Share-your-TMI-stories-that-you-cant-in-RL?pg=1
I'm crying with laughter here Grin.

LexiLexi · 21/02/2013 14:13

The Paternity Leave deadlines for notifying employers are the same as Maternity Leave ones. We nearly got caught out, thinking as it was less time off, less notice would be required! Here's a link to the form for anyone who needs it:

MrsBri · 21/02/2013 15:43

I think DH is taking leave, not paternity leave. Must consider it!

learnermummy · 21/02/2013 16:16

I think DH is taking one week of paternity leave as he gets full pay for the first week, and then will probably take holiday after that.

Mawgatron · 21/02/2013 17:49

Ha ha, genius. Thanks learner!

I know sunny, I'm not going to leave him over it but it is nice to have a bit of validation. I like being told repeatedly that I'm right!

DH is self employed, so no form filling for him at least.

Glad I'm not the only one who was craving super noodles- so wrong but so right. Mmmm. Fake chicken goodness...

Sunbeam18 · 21/02/2013 21:47

Received my maternity jeans from Jojo Maman today in the post - oh my god, they feel like heaven!

SunnyL · 22/02/2013 10:02

Had to go home today and change out of my trousers. Bump was doing a terrific impression of a washing machine and was making me feel really quite nauseous. Think I'll need to put those trousers to the back of the wardrobe for a while.

Sarah2506 · 22/02/2013 16:38

So, went to Mothercare and discovered favoured Bugaboo will fit in boot. Boom! Then found someone selling one locally - Result! She wants 300 quid for everything; pram, car seat adaptors, covers, foot muff, the works! This would be more than a grand new. Also, Easyjet destroyed the frame last year so that's only 6 months old, so seems like a good bet. Really pleased - didn't want to spend crazy money on new pram, not least because I fear it being stolen!

If you want some interesting, though vaguely depressing, reading, then see this link. Its about having a baby in Finland. If you read nothing else check out whats in the box you get as a new mum; and note that the box is sturdy enough to be used as Baby's first bed together with the free mattress! I now want to be Finnish! I only came across this because of the BBc story about them leaving their babies to nap outside, and it does indeed seem like the Fins think that fresh air cures absolutely everything...

DontmindifIdo · 22/02/2013 16:54

£300 for a bugaboo? Which one? That's very exciting!

Littlemissexpecting · 22/02/2013 17:29

Hi everyone just checking in. Been a busy week with work. Will catch up on here over the weekend looks like I've missed loads.
Hope everyone is well and bumps are growing as fast as my little man I feel huge!!

AmIGoingMad · 22/02/2013 19:06

Maw I hope you've been eating lots of chocolate in front of DH today!

Sunny I had to laugh that your DH thinks he'll have time that needs filling with a project after baby arrives!!!Grin

Sarah- that's an amazing price for a bugaboo!

Sarah2506 · 22/02/2013 20:14

Bugaboo cameleon! So pleased!

RueDeWakening · 22/02/2013 20:55

Sarah - well done on the pram, that's amazing! I'm still looking...
And the Finnish leaflet was fascinating, I know they are quite good at maternity benefits etc but it's interesting to see it all in black and white.

I'm going to try and get to a nearly new sale tomorrow, not sure if I can manage it as I've got to take DD to a birthday party as well, and they overlap - fingers crossed I can do it! Don't know if anyone will sell prams/pushchairs at it though, has anyone seen them at that sort of 2nd hand thing?

maisiebeem · 23/02/2013 06:25

Ooo I will have to check that out! My dh has fallen for a bugaboo, just can't justify the price brand mew, although I think his parents are wanting to help out with it, as this will be their first grandchild, and they don't like the idea of it having second hand stuff! Little do they know that the cot, cot, clothes etc will all be second hand! I like a bargain!

SunnyL · 23/02/2013 08:05

We're meant to be going pram shopping with my mother in March as she's buying. Although she's now suggested my sister comes too. I think DH may find his head explodes if he sets off with three females who are all quite loud and opinionated. Trying to work out a nice way to say back off to my darling sister although need to be nice cos I'm inheriting so much baby stuff from her.

LexiLexi · 23/02/2013 08:33

Sunny, maybe suggest meeting with your sister for a coffee or lunch afterwards (if that's not too much for DH)? I think any 4 people from my family shopping for a pram would be rather raucous!

We are pretty much set on an iCandy peach jogger as it was the only one DP liked. Was wondering if anyone here has one & if so would they recommend it?

redwellybluewelly · 23/02/2013 08:34

I have the icandy apple and its great

OP posts:
LexiLexi · 23/02/2013 08:36

Er I mean 3 people- clearly my brain has turned to mush!

LexiLexi · 23/02/2013 09:20

Thanks redwelly!

AmIGoingMad · 23/02/2013 09:46

I had the apple too for DS and loved it! Will be using it for this little one too x

Littlemissexpecting · 23/02/2013 10:01

Lexi we have ordered a peach (not the jogger though). It was the only one DH and I really liked too. Luckily his mum was paying!! I still need to order the footmuff but won't need it till Autumn/winter so going to wait a bit.
