Havnt been on in a few days net ran out on my phone.

I'm currently sat in the hospital waiting to be seen by a doctor, had horrible tightnings very regular and period pains and backache aswell as pressure down there. So waiting to be checked over hopefully its just a uti making my uterus irratable.

Hope everyone is well

stacey212528 · 18/02/2013 13:54

Beckie, got my fingers crossed for you. Sending lots of good thoughts your way!

Waves hope you feel better soon.

Spots are finally beginning to fade, so have spent yesterday and today gutting the house. Exciting stuff I know. Also trying to find a baby show ANYWHERE in Scotland with no luck. Off now to clean the inside of the fridge.. The joys!

MrsPennyapple · 18/02/2013 14:37

Hope all goes ok and it's nothing to worry about Beckie

I had a dream last night, that I'd had the baby, it was a boy, and he was about 3 months old in the dream. I kept forgetting about him, and leaving him places around the house. I suddenly realised I'd left him on the floor between the chair and the sofa, and when I ran back to get him he'd got hold of a biro and had pen marks all over his face, and then DP arrived home and I had to explain why the baby was covered in blue pen. Oh well, funny old pregnancy dreams. How come I never get rude ones? I have dreams that look as though they are heading in that direction, but I wake up (usually needing the loo) before I get to the good part. It's not fair!

Noodles80 · 18/02/2013 15:26

Beckie - hope it all goes ok at the hospital

Waves - sorry you are still feeling so poorly. I really hope the hospital can help this time!

I had my scan last Monday and all looked good! New due date of 29th August. I got blood results back and all ok on that front too. Now just need to see consultant for thyroid and hopefully all ok for the moment!

I am back in Asia working and completely exhausted. Yesterday I worked from 4am until midnight. Been feeling a bit sorry for myself as on a conference tour and the only food has been sushi which obviously can't eat! Reticent to tell anyone I am pregnant as really wanted to wait until 20 weeks for work people, but I have been feeling ratty and hungry. Given how much everyone else has been drinking I think the fact that I'm on the soft drinks might be giving it away though! I'm sorry to whinge as I know others are having a really tough time. It just feels a bit exhausting at the moment as my job involves so much travel and its really wearing me out. Unfortunately I still have lots to do before baby, so will have to stop moaning and get on with it!

Right, sorry for the rant! Enjoy the rest of the day. 12.30 here so bedtime for me.

Abilee90 · 18/02/2013 15:45

Beckie let us know as soon as. Hugs.

Stacey glad spots are fading but remember to take it easy.

Waves get better soon hun, feel for u.

Pennyapple i had dreams when i was preg with dd that she was a girl and she had gotten into pink paint. I asked a dream specialist and she said your body can make you dream about sex or a certain colour. Me and my dh have both had dreams about this one being a boy so if dreams are right. I will let you know on sat as find out then

Xxx

beckie90 · 18/02/2013 16:08

Back from hospital, clear of uti, still in pain even more so now, all the doc did which was a young woman (not a midwife) was look and swab me. Then sent me home feeling very mad tbh. Don't know what else to do now, other then express all this to my midwife Thursday and see if she can refer me to be properly checked out rather than be just looked at. I don't feel happy at all with that given the pain xx

FoofFighter · 18/02/2013 17:10

Noodles, your job sounds so exciting! Tiring, but exciting :) I can only imagine the torture of not being able to eat that sushi :( if it's been frozen first it's ok, but highly doubt they do it that way over there eh? Any hint on what it is you do?

Beckie, that doesn't sound good. How bad is the pain on a scale of 1-10? I think I'd be giving my MW a call if they have said there's no UTI (but it could be borderline on dipsticks yet positive if they send it away for cultures?) Don't be sitting sorrying, give them a ring, or if it's too late for them, ring the ward up.

mrsPennyapple, i just keep dreaming about work!!

Waves Sad you must be so tired, poor thing. How are the kids doing?

I was snuggling an 8 week old today, bumpo did NOT like that! a minute in and it was bang bang bang get off my MOMMY!!!!!! hehehe

Bought this: www.boots.com/en/Mini-Club-Newborn-Boy-Brights-All-In-One_1290124/ annoyed they call something unisex like this a boys thing though, why can't girls wear brights too?! I hate cream and pastel stuff, much rather lots of lovely bright stuff like this. Anyway generally impressed with the Boots clothes overall, they aren't too twee, worth a look right now with the baby event on as lots reduced and lots on bogohalfprice.

Anyone else bought anythign they can show me :)

Lexi, if people did start asking about IVF type of stuff with me then they'd get short shrift tbh, with my ex husband I was referred for IVF as suffered with secondary unexplained infertility, we tried for 5 yrs before we split up, not a sniff of a pg. Then with new man got pg without trying last year which we sadly lost, and then this preg, no problems! Strange how things work out. Must be toyboy power ;)

RuckAndRoll · 18/02/2013 18:25

foof that babygrow is brilliant! DH and I love bright and colourful. I may have to get that one. So far we've bought a baby bath with insert in the Sainsburys baby event, it's winnie the pooh. Off on holiday next week so we're waiting until after that before buying much extra.

beckie If you're not happy, phone your midwife, or go back to the hospital and get stroppy until you're happy.

noodles Asia sounds exciting but I know how draining travel for work can be. Due to my blood pressure issues I'm not allowed to travel at the moment, it has it's benefits. Glad the scan went well.

I've had my first day back at work today, I'm totally exhausted now, but on the plus side I didn't pass out or fall down the stairs!

beckie90 · 18/02/2013 18:52

foof its exactly like the start of my labour with ds2 I was in slow labour the tightnings arnt painful just uncomfortable, but the lower backpain n period pains hurt more. Just like with ds2. I'm going to discuss it with my MW and ask to be seen at a different hospital. I have no faith in my hospital at all. I had major problems with them while having ds1 they just seem to not have no cares and fob you off

RugBugs · 18/02/2013 18:56

Beckie have you checked your maternity notes to see what they say? Mine say (not very clearly) that beyond 12 weeks we call straight into 24hr labour/delivery reception.

Hurray for spots starting to clear Stacey!

Waves I hope they can get you your medication in hospital. Why didn't they just dispense it from the hospital pharmacy when you were discharged last time?

Foof I have to agree with you about toyboy power! DP is eight years younger than me and one slip of bc on my part led to DD.

DP realllllly wants these dinos, we have more girls clothes than any DD2 could ever need so our only purchases will be boys clothes.

MrsPennyapple · 18/02/2013 19:07

Foof Love that babygro. Thanks for the heads up about Boots, I do like their baby clothes, DD has had a few bits from there. I do quite like the coffee and cream colours though :)

muddybloodypuddles · 18/02/2013 19:28

beckie - please ring your antenatal ward or whatever it says in your notes, if you feel something isn't right please trust your intuition and get it checked out asap, hopefully everything is fine but otherwise you will just be worrying, my mw said 'always contact, don't ever feel like you're being silly' xx

GaryBuseysTeeth · 18/02/2013 19:46

beckie, hope everything gets sorted soon...sounds very stressful.

waves Thanks again, really hope you're not back in hospital very long.

Foof, lovely babygro!
We're avoiding things with feet...DS has massive elephant feet & they haven't ever fit into anything with footholes, no doubt if we have a girl she'll be a lanky balding big foot like her dad!
Had a look around Bluewater today, all the new stock is in the shops & there is some lovely looking girls stuff atm.
What's the female version of toyboy, DH is 11years older than me.

15+2

beckie90 · 18/02/2013 19:55

I rang antenatal first thing this morning they said I'm not allowed to be seen there as I'm too early so I went to gp who checked my pulse Hmm and poked my belly then said no your fine no more further action, so then obviously thought what the actual hell and rang a midwife cause my midwifes phone was off, she reffered me to epu/gynaecology ward. I didnt feel that was right place for me but antenatal lady I spoke to on phone this morning was really nice and said what I was describing wasn't the norm she mentioned irritable uterus and in worst case misscariage, but the doctor on gynae ward just said well pains are normal in pregnancy, so seemed she didnt have a clue cause given I've had 3 previous pregnancys, I've never had pain like this until the end. Theres a hospital 30mins away that specialises in pregnancy, so hopefully my midwife will see this isn't normal and I'm concerned and refer me there.

Sorry to ramble, just real down about it and always made to feel like been over worried were I live and there care provided x

RugBugs · 18/02/2013 20:29

Ramble on Beckie, it's awful when something's not right but medical professionals tell you otherwise.

I'm another one who is not happy with previous care from my hospital but I shall go in a lot wiser and much more assertive this time.

muddybloodypuddles · 18/02/2013 20:34

beckie - not surprised you're feeling a bit down about it, sounds like you've been passed around a bit without getting any answers or feel like you've been taken seriously enough, I thought epu for was before 12 weeks? Anyway, I hope you are getting some rest and it's all okay in the end - can you give your midwife a ring tomorrow if pain is still there? x

Gary - I've not got a toyboy either - DH is 9 years older than me :/

foof - I like the babygrow too - lovely and colourful :) - i haven't bought anything for the baby yet, just mat bras and clothes for me :)

Stacey - glad your spots are going, you sound like you're doing a bit much maybe?? I can't seem to do that much without chicken pox Grin - hope you're getting rest too

Noodles - you made me feel knackered just reading that - if you tell work would they reduce the amount of travel you have to do - not sure what you do... but surely they'd need to take that into consideration?

Ruck - well done on not passing out or falling down the stairs! Was it nice to get back to work?

Anyone elses bump ache quite a lot? Not sure if its just wind or stretching or both but by evening it feels like it's too heavy or something (and we've got a looong way to go yet!), doesn't feel weird or wrong just achey..

16wks today :)

RugBugs · 18/02/2013 20:45

I'm leaving DD with DPs parents for only the fourth time tomorrow while we go to the cinema. They've not had her since she could crawl and she's 2.3 now!
I'm half terrified we'll come back to her with shorter hair or wearing random new shoes (why do clarks do shoes in burgundy and purple?) or worse, a dog bite from one of their over-enthusiastic labs Sad

beckie90 · 18/02/2013 20:57

That's what I thought too muddy wouldn't really call over 15wks early pregnancy anymore. But I guess they put me there because I was too early for antenatal. I don't know when they can see you from on antenatal ward over here, but can't be too far away as I was seen there with ds2 at bang on 22wk with bleeding. Stupid how it works over here, I was sat with a couple of old ladies waiting for there surgery (obviously gynocology surgery or something) I'm still tightning but pain eased off abit, but no doubt it will be back in morning cause thats what happend last night.

rugs definatly do that, don't seem to get anywere if not.

In other news lol got my ds2 potty trained in less then a day, even going for number 2s (sorry tmi) its just ds1 wouldn't go for that till 18 months after he started using the potty he always asked for a nappy on for that. And I've got my college interview next week :) yay very excited for that x

Jollymummy2 · 18/02/2013 21:16

Ooh Beckie well done on potty training. Being trying to get ds sorted (he's 2yrs 9mths) for about 6 mths and he has never quite figured it out. Although yesterday I felt so tired I couldn't even get the energy to get his nappy on, and he went on the toilet every time Grin
Tried it again today and only one wee accident. He has decided baby needs his nappies. I can't quite believe it was so easy.
I'm loving the bright coloured baby clothes. Not sure i can justify buying more as I still have all the clothes from the last 3 Wink

I have been looking at prams over the last few weeks, and just can't decide what I want. DH laughs and says at least it keeps me quite.

MrsWajs · 18/02/2013 21:27

Waves I hope you're feeling better soon, sounds like you're having an awful time :(

Beckie Can't believe you've basically been fobbed off! Hope you get some better answers from your own MW. And well done on the potty training. I bought DD some 'big girl pants' today as I think she's just about ready, she frequently asks for the toilet, mainly for poo's but she uses the same word for both things! And probably 8 times out of 10 she does something so I reckon it's getting quite reliable. I just need a good stretch of days off to do it properly with her. Do any of you think it's too early at 1year 10months??

No idea what to do re: pram, thinking I need a double but people keep telling me not to bother. Currently have a quinny and was going to get a lascal buggy board but have read some reviews tonight which indicate they aren't too good whilst using carrycot or buggy in parent facing mode which isn't ideal. I have a friend with a phil & teds explorer who may be interested in a swap so need to check them out and see what I think.

Thought I felt some slight movement tonight but it could still be too early at 12+3. First felt it at 17 weeks with DD.
Second scan tomorrow and hopefully now get NT measurements and get a firm date!!

beckie90 · 18/02/2013 21:36

mrswas ds1 was 18 months when he started using potty and toilet for wees and ds2 is 1yr 10 month too, so no I think if they show signs there ready then go for it. With ds2 he started pulling his nappy off and throwing it away then soon as he needed a wee or a poo he would tell me and then go get another nappy out and pass me it so last night o thought right let's try his potty out he's been using it ever since. And I'd say you prob did feel the baby :)

jolly welldone on your little boy too, they grow up way too quick don't they xx

RugBugs · 18/02/2013 22:02

We have an explorer MrsWajs and it's no good with a carrycot or parent facing with a doubles kit or buggy board either I'm afraid. Only real options for a newborn in doubles mode is with second seat on top and newborn flat in main seat.

So much potty training at the minute! I was sorely tempted to do it with DD this week but we're away on Wednesday for a while.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 18/02/2013 22:56

Hi All

beckie sorry to hear you have worries at the moment, I hope you get some better answers soon. Well done on potty training DS2, he sounds like he's a bright boy! My DS was an absolute nightmare, we had to send postcards from his poo (don't ask) to get him to put anything in the toilet at all. I was dreading doing DD, but she got it in about three days. I guess having an older sibling can be a good thing sometimes.

JollyMummy congrats to your little boy too.

mrsWajs I have the lascal buggy board and it was fab for DS when DD was in the pram, but he was 2.11 when he started using it and could be relied on to stay on the board and not jump off. I don't think the fittings fit every pram either. My friend has a Phil and Ted's and they are great as a double, but very heavy and very large to fit in the car boot, so I guess it depends on what upper body strength you have and how big your car is!

Rug hope your DD survived! Did you enjoy the film?

Ruck congrats on your first day back at work. Have you gone back full time straight away or are they letting you ease yourself back in to the routine?

Hurrah for spot-free skin, Stacey. Make sure you rest up - the cleaning can wait until the "nesting" kicks in!

Noodles your job sounds very exciting! The furthest I've ever travelled for work is Dublin! How do you think work will react when you tell them? Will you still be able to travel etc?

waves very sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. Hope you are getting more help from your mother, and you can rest and rehydrate.

muddy my bump feels like it's stretching in an evening as well. Not unpleasant, just like it's growing.

MrsPenny I have very vivid dreams at the moment. I wake up and really believe that something I've dreamt has actually happened - makes my mornings very confusing! I dreamt the other day that Gary Linekar had died, and was telling DH how awful it was, and he thought I was mad!

Well, Center Parcs was fab as always. Turns out DS is absolutely fearless, going down every flume and slide on his own even though he is only 5 and can only swim 10m! DD also loved the water, and spent most the time "washing" my hair (tipping a bucket of water over my head!). I love the times we spend away together, as we see DH so infrequently because he works long hours, so ofter during the week the kids are in bed before he gets home. It's lovely seeing them all playing together. I think we'll miss not getting away in the August holiday this year, as we usually go to Cornwall for a week, but I just daren't book anything. I have DH at home for one more day tomorrow, and then he is back at work. Going to make the most of the extra pair of hands and actually sit down for a bit!!

Hope everyone else is well.

beckie90 · 19/02/2013 08:18

stopsitting that made me laugh about the postcards :) things we do for kids eh.You sound like you and your LO's had an amazing time at center parks, sounds lovely :)

Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday

15+3 xx

DaveMccave · 19/02/2013 12:58

foof that was the first clothing item I bought too! A few weeks a go i'll be honest. Reminded me of the Toby Tiger one but fraction of the price. It would be even better if the neck band was yellow.

noodle Asia! Wow, very exciting. You must be knackered though!

Dd has just been picked up by her dad for 2 nights and dp and I are going to make the most of it and have borrowed his brothers boat in Wales, so we're going to stay on that :) Trying to make the most of all child free time at the moment.
