peanut welcome back do you want to go into labour or looking forward to your section?
Anal fissures - everyone else look away if feel its tmi- yes having problems have to take iron tablets have been for. 6 weeks they were sort of bad before but now terrible the tablets are for bleeding but feel that with the blood loss anally they may be making things worse getting my bloods done tomorrow so will see. Have been taking lactolaise religiously which has helped a bit making more comfortable less blood.

peanutMD · 26/02/2013 07:11

Thanks Emsyboo, I have Lactulose in the cupboard as had bad constipation a few Weeks back so least start taking that again... Who said pregnancy ain't glamorous :o

Did you have to see doctor, I'm only assuming its a fissure I have and not sure there's anything they could do so debating making an appointment this morning, more so because of section.

Sorry to hear you're suffering too but glad its not just me lol

I had to have an EMCS with my DS 6 years ago so I'm terrified of that happening again but wanted a VBAC too so compramised by labour before Date and section after, still not 100% either way tbh so I'll leave it to fate!

How about you?

pudtat · 26/02/2013 07:29

Wow SoYo - hope all goes smoothly.

And good luck to others who may be on the starting blocks... does this mean it's all really real?

36 weeks for me today, and have had a rough few days. Hips are now killing me - some kind of inflammation round the joint brought on by relaxin - and sleeping on one side is agony. Given I only have 2 sleeping positions (left side or right side) that limits things even more! Someone who had twins saw me for the first time in ages yesterday and was amazed at how huge my bump was (it is ALL bump - I look like a Mr Man character!). Plus I now have officially no shoes which are comfortable to wear over my swollen feet. Heartburn also decided to make a reappearance last night (I'd been managing it OK by being careful, thankfully Gaviscon brought it under control enough for me to get back to sleep) while my stretch marks (a fabulous crop in gorgeous flames motif across whole of under bump - DH is keen for me to incorporate them into a tattoo!) have been itching like mad! Had to moisturise them at 4am and then leave them hanging out of bed to stay cool last night... All these are very small niggles I know, but having got away really very lightly thus far they are getting me down. Think probably as I have 9 days more at work (not that I am counting, can you tell?) and still tons to do at home (like decorating the nursery, although we can now nearly start on that!) and am already feeling totally useless.

Sorry, whinge over. As you were ladies. I shall see if I can still reach my bootstraps and pull them up! Smile

pudtat · 26/02/2013 07:32

Sorry Peanut and Emsy posts crossed - now my niggles really do seem minor!

I would def get checked out by Doc if you're not sure Peanut. And glad you've found some relief Emsy, sounds really horrid.

Yep pregnancy - can't believe I wasn't aware of all this stuff beforehand!

peanutMD · 26/02/2013 07:42

Pudtat its all relative :o

Do you have SPD or is it just hips getting awkward? I have SPD and find that an array of pillows stacked Jenga style between knees, under bump and under legs helps a bit!

definitely try left side as it helps the stomach acid drain which in turn should help with heartburn... The pointless information I have gained the last few months is astounding :o

I only got round to packing my hospital bags on Thursday at 38 Weeks so don't fret too much its one of those things that you put off but when its done you feel relieved!

plonko · 26/02/2013 09:43

SoYo very exciting, good luck!!

Pudtat I totally empathise with all those niggles you've listed. I've found the last month to be quite hard going in terms of general wellbeing. There hasn't really been anything wrong but my god I've become a right moaner!!

I'm due tomorrow. More than ready now! Sorry if tmi, but lost part of my plug yesterday so I'm hoping this is it. Oh and dp has to work aaaages away today which is surely a guarantee that it will all kick off today, right? Right?!

leniwhite · 26/02/2013 10:20

Soyo is on the way!! So exciting! Just followed a live labour thread on chat overnight and then dreamed about labour all night. Hope it's all smooth and bubba just slips outWink

Pudtat can't believe you're still working - I can barely breathe! Same as you, just all bump now. After saying I was very energetic I now need to sleep for 30 mins twice during the day...

The anal fissures thing - they should heal on their own, you can use haemorrhoid cream to ease the pain too, use the little tube thing and apply after a BM. Right at the start of pregnancy I had piles that burst when walking and literally poured blood Shock but they all seem to have gone which is a bit backwards! I had really bad fissures a few years ago too, made me cry every time i went to the loo.

I don't want to buy duplicate things for hospital so i keep having to unpack stuff I need and use it, at this rate I'll have to wear a dirty nightie if baby comes early!

Come on babies, lets be having you all Grin

Emsyboo · 26/02/2013 10:37

Pudtat I cannot believe you are still working you are tough but all those niggles may mean you should take it easy! I had SPD last pregnancy and did the pillows between the legs etc use a breastfeeding v shaped pillow if you have one.

Plonko due tomorrow is your plug bloody? Either red or brown blood? I lost my plug at around 30 weeks but it was a snotty colour now been loosing with browny red tinge with they are more concerned about - not that it's worrying for you as it can mean labour is coming but obviously they don't want me to go into labour as placenta is in the way so if it is bloody then fingers crossed may not be long!!

Peanut Anal fissures are horrid but to be honest the least of my worries at the moment so not been checked out properly just assume it will heal eventually if you go to the docs let me know what they say as maybe I should raise it with them but at the moment they are just concerned with keeping baby in till my section on Thursday.
I was induced last time and natural birth but have placenta previa this time so have to have a section but on the plus side I know baby will be here by Thursday night at the latest Smile

Rainbowbabyhope · 26/02/2013 10:57

pudtat I am having similar nighttime struggles - looking forward to being able to roll over on my front again! I have started using DH as a leaning post in the night which helps take the pressure of the hips. I pretty much make myself stay on my left because of the studies which suggest this is best for bloodflow to baby but this does mean that left hip is permanently a bit achy - still its only for a few more weeks!

I am also still ploughing on at work and determined to do so until the very last second when I go into labour - just not prepared to use up any of my precious maternity leave before baby gets here! Actually I think its helping to keep me busy and sane while we play this waiting game for our little ones!

StormyBrid · 26/02/2013 11:15

Plan for today: don't go into labour. (Are you listening in there, baby?)

Phone call at half past eight this morning, I'm getting some new windows and extractor fans on Thursday. So my current sod's law prediction is I'll go into labour on Wednesday night, probably brought on by the effort of hauling half my bedroom into the nursery out of the way.

Being able to roll over onto my front would be awesome, but right now I'd settle for being able to roll over at all. Starting to think a hoist would be handy.

Anyone up for sharing the horror of their weight gain so far? I stepped on the scales this morning and nearly had a heart attack. No more cake for me! Well, no more after this cream bun, anyway.

Also, anyone heard from theTramp? Don't recall her posting in a while, wondering if she's got herself a baby yet.

Oodsigma · 26/02/2013 11:20

tramp doesn't have one yet

Hello! May I announce myself as a new mummy of scrummy twins! Matilda (6lbs 10oz) and Dylan (5lbs 7oz) were born by c-section on 13 February and after a prolonged 11 days in hospital we are all now home and very happy! I've uploaded a pic or two of these adorable creatures to my profile :-)

The c-section was fine, but by the end of the day I had developed a haematoma so had to go in for a further operation to sort that out. I think this must have slowed my healing a bit, and certainly it made small matters like constipation, trapped wind etc worse afterwards! Also, I developed a UTI and a minor (fingers crossed) wound/womb infection in the last few days in hospital for which I was on IV antibiotics and now tablets. Feeling better already, even though I think I'm overdoing things a bit round the house.

But the main reason we were in so long was that the twins fed poorly in the early days and were jaundiced, necessitating a four-day stay in the low dependency unit for fattening up. By day five M. had lost 12% of birth weight and D. 7%. After four days in the LDU we were pretty much back up to birth weights, thanks to every third feed being intubated (DH and I did the others by bottle). This time last week was a very dark time, feeling like an utter failure as a mum and distraught at having the babies living in a different ward to me and DH (we were blessed with a family room), but a week later and we're home, they are taking huge feeds, and already after just a couple of days we've got into a nice routine. the lack of sleep is punishing, as I'm sure many can relate to, but we're slowly moving form 3 to 4-hourly feeds which feels very exciting!

I am trying to express. The night before last I leaked for the first time overnight, which was so cool! The MW brought over a Medela double pump yesterday and I managed 50mls - a PB! Very little this morning, but I'm still trying to encourage my meagre supply rather than feed them entirely off it! Getting them fed is the priority though, and if I can add some breast milk into the formula mix I'll be a happy lady.

I'll post this across a couple of threads as my poor brain probably can't cope with re-writing!

plonko · 26/02/2013 11:25

Emsy it had brown blood in it. I came out yesterday tea time and not a great deal has happened since then. Oh but my boobs have doubled in size and I seem to only for into sleep bras! Obviously pp not ideal for you but it must be lovely to know you'll have little one in your arms by Friday. Very jealous of you having a set date.

In fact I feel really good today! Woke up stupidly early so I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen then went to morrisons, and now I'm just drinking tea and bouncing on the ball while watching telly.

Ooh don't mention weight gain Stormy. I don't own scales, thank god. I think I'd break them now! I estimate I've put on maybe 3 st but I really don't want to know. Don't plan on weighing myself until I'm back in size 10 skinnies!

I'm amazed some of you are still working. You deserve medals! And chocolate. Hope you put your feet up soon ladies!

plonko · 26/02/2013 11:30

Congratulations Manda, they're gorgeous! Glad things are getting easier, it sounds like you've had a bit of a time!

Oh you've made me all teary now Grin

Rainbowbabyhope · 26/02/2013 11:40

manda congratulations on your wonderful new arrivals. Sounds like you have had a really hard time of it but glad you are out the other end and can enjoy settling in at home with your little ones!

StormyBrid · 26/02/2013 11:53

Congratulations, manda! They're gorgeous. I want one! And may I say your bump-photo on your profile is impressively huge - I suddenly feel I've got nothing to complain about!

plonko - had to weigh myself, because I'm looking forward to losing loads of weight by giving birth and so need to know pre-birth weight in order to work out how much gets shifted, if you see what I mean. Just wasn't expecting it to be quite so terrifying!

Emsyboo · 26/02/2013 12:13

Congratulations manda sorry you've had a tough time but all on the up now! Can't view pics on the phone but will look soon

I put on so much weight last pregnancy been keeping an eye on weight am 21lbs lighter this pregnancy but I put on nearly 5 stone last time!! Naughty!

leniwhite · 26/02/2013 13:40

Yay Manda!! Gorgeous babies, well done you!

I've put some photos on my profile finally, the MRI ones might be interesting for some :)

JoJoBella84 · 26/02/2013 14:55

leni the MRI pics are fascinating, though I'm more than impressed with the four cells picture!!

Countmyblessings · 26/02/2013 16:04

Hi Ladies - just a quick post well I have had the baby Girl she's so beautiful! Delivered by csection within 15 mins!!!!
6lbs 4 oz loads of dark hair, feeding well and very peaceful!
I hated the whole csection was sick just as was pumped with drugs, head spinning, was struggling to breath as my chest felt so tight with all the pressure didn't feel a thing no tugging or pulling! Great surgical team,my legs felt awful. It's the injections and blood tests I can't take!!!!!
Been walking around showing them - how tough I am!

FurryFox · 26/02/2013 16:28

I did a post this morning but did it through the app which I hadn't done before and just realised it didn't post, am wondering if I sent it to someone directly instead Confused so apologies if anyone got a random message from me!

Congratulations manda, your twins are gorgeous, lovely names too. Glad everything is settling down now and you're all home Smile

SoYo hope everything's going well and maybe you've now got your baby, fingers crossed Flowers

Leni the MRI pics are great, agree with jojo that the four cells picture is amazing!

Count wow congratulations! So those painful braxton hicks were contractions! Dd sounds lovely Smile When did you have her?

Plonko sounds promising losing your plug. Good luck!

Lots of babies arriving now! So exciting!

leniwhite · 26/02/2013 16:32

Congrats Count! So many babies now, well done lovely new mummies Grin trying to keep track of who else is already in progress but getting a bit lost Shock

Maybe I should put the embryo photo in our family album to cause a chuckle when he's older and brings back a girl/boyfriend, not that's embarrassing!

Oodsigma · 26/02/2013 17:05

Congrats count :)

plonko · 26/02/2013 17:33

Congratulations, Count!

Jojo are you still here?! How many days over now? Was hoping your silence meant you were cuddling a teeny baby. I think you deserve some flowers or something.

christilass · 26/02/2013 17:49
