Hello all..,
Let's clog up a brand spanking new club over here Smile

(By hello all, I guess I mean hello hazle. Hopefully the others will join us soon...)

Moan away that's what we're here for, I'm getting utterly pissed off with the constant nosebleeds too and it's no good whining at real life people, they don't get it, my mother for one keeps telling me what an easy ride of it I'm having, yeah sure, it's a blast being pregnant Hmm
Hope they can do something to help you at the docs.

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 10:23

Morning all from Hobbiton!

That shoulder sounds painful - have you tried ibuprofen style gels? Was having problems while TTC and doc said not to take any orally, but to use gels. Some are definitely off-limits (I think the diclofenac ones) but may be worth asking a pharmacist while waiting for magic doctors? I was genuinely surprised at how effective it was.

And alas, I'm not a hobbit. I measure at 5ft 4 and a half. Although I have occasionally had to garden my toes thanks to my inheritance from my excessively hairy parents. The good news for me is that Mr Bear is hairier than me (and in a very rugged olive-skinned handsome way), but this will be bad news for Baby Bear, if Baby Bear is a girl. Least I can advise on bleaching!

Re bumpsville, I think I'm still pretty bumpless, tho there's definitely a concaveness happening. Saw our pg friends on Sunday and the dad2b said 'oh yeah, can definitely see a start of a bump' - I was strangely mortified!

Finally read back upthread and 'skull theory' suggests that Baby Bear may well be a girl variety. Great news about your daughter Rache - how exciting! And will be repursuing the bump bands in due course.

Also re exercising... finally fit enough to do some light zumba after all the dramas (in own home, natch) - how on earth do you find a sports bra suitable?!?

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 10:26

Hazle after my operation I was prescribed a powerful antibiotic to prevent infection. I got home from the hospital pharmacy and read with horror in big capital letters Must not be used in first 3 months of pregnancy.

After a long conversation with the hospital pharmacy, they said that they don't really know the effect as laws prohibit testing on pregnant mothers (thank god), but that it was vitally important I take it as the risks would have been higher if I got a bacterial infection. Seriously scary. Was very relieved when I saw the heart beating on the scan!

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 10:33

Brave, any specific requirements for the bra? I use shock absorber max top or their Run bra.

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 11:23

Tbh Hazle I've never had a proper sports bra because they didn't do sizes small enough (or so I thought - ahem). So I always used to use a tight sports crop-top and it seems to have done the trick (ie years and years of very high impact sport, no sagging). I don't even know what size to look for - do you look for 'your' size, or go down a couple to ensure maximum squashed-in ness?

I could use crop tops but one is very very old (and I don't think the lycra's good enough anymore) and the other would be too small and tight as certain backsize has gone up. God I'm like a teenager again! Smile

Think I have an expensive boob-related shopping trip coming up after payday this weekend! Need the full gamut!

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 11:28

Yes try shock absorber run bra then. You might need to go up a back size, they come up smallish. Also Freya does a good underworked sorts bra.

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 11:29

Underwired, not worked of course.

Purplemonster · 29/01/2013 12:39

Argh! you lot are making me feel so lazy and guilty! What with the epic six week snot fest, I've barely moved off the sofa, no wonder I'm the size of a cow. Due to various injuries (I'm basically falling to pieces) there's not much exercise I can do so I need to search down a fat lady swimming costume and get back in the pool (the sight of me in my current tankini with my big belly hanging out the bottom might frighten small children) just so I get SOME exercise...although I imagine I'm going to look a bit like a manatee...

janey1234 · 29/01/2013 12:41

I'm with you purple, just totally out of the habit. Plus can hardly reach the keyboard with my left arm, let alone even swim. If they sort it out though I fully intend to start regular swimming again - as things stand I can't think of anything I can do!!

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 14:03

Sorry for invoking weird guilt! I honestly think it's important to rest when you need it in our newfound state - and that includes being wrapped in a snotfest or having a wonky shoulder.

I was surprised by how wiped out I was during my ailments and injuries, and only just regaining energy now. Still, even yesterday, I walked home (2 miles), having to slow up half way back because my left hip started twingeing, got home and helped OH with a bit of wallpapering and then sat down for a rest before making tea.

Honest to god, as soon as I sat down I was knackered. Just hit me from nowhere. I, too, am hoping to swim soon, but still can't do anything fun like that owing to my still-open post-op sore in my nether regions - can't even have a bath!

So, as I couldn't handle running yet (and couldn't trust myself to 'just' jog), figure zumba is a fairly sensible return...

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 14:07

Back from doc, all is fine. He even said that I could be gaining more weight - so I went to local bakery and got a nice croissant Grin Yum.

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 14:45

Yay to all being fine Hazle and yay to having easy access to guilt-free croissants Grin

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 15:31

Oh Rach, as you know it's a girl, chosen any names yet?

Rache1S · 29/01/2013 17:21

Good news at the doctor Hazle and double good news about the weight gain. Bring on the pastries! Grin

While DH was away last week I worked my way through the pink section of a baby names book which my Sis had given to me ages ago. I wrote down any which stood out to me and ended up with the following list;

Amber
Amory
Jerrica
Madeleine
Thaila
Talia
Leila/Layla
Cady
Caitlin
Della
Kendall
Koren
Elise
Erin

But to be honest none of them seem to be right. DH hasn't seen this yet and no doubt he'll hate all of them but it's a starting point for conversation I suppose. I need somewhere to look for inspiration on more girls names Confused

Be careful with the skull and nub theories Brave. I was completely convinced mine was blue flavoured before being informed otherwise Grin

BraveLilBear · 29/01/2013 17:35

How exciting to have a longlist Rache!

A couple of those are on my radar as I totally love French names... OH is demanding classic names that cannot be deemed to be chavvy. Every name I have suggested to date for a girl, he has hated.

I have now totally fallen in love with a certain French name that'd go really well with his (quite hard-sounding) surname but am scared to tell him in case he vetoes that too! Annoyingly, the one extra boys name (we had one months and months ago) he has suggested I really like.

Good luck for when your negotiating starts Wink

And I'm only playing with the skull/nub theory as we don't want to find out. He thinks it's a boy and I've always thought a girl, don't ask how/why! I honestly don't mind which flavour, but like the idea of playing the game with everyone else lol Grin

Rache1S · 29/01/2013 17:55

One thing I have considered is giving DD a quite traditional name which will stand her in good stead when applying for Oxbridge/campaigning to be Prime Minister/marrying Will & Kate's son and giving her a cuter nickname for everyday use.

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 17:58

Elise is one of my favourites. Also Elodie, Eloise and Elisa, all pretty.

We have several girl names we like, but cannot agree on any boy names, so if we're in team blue, we'll have some difficulties.

Rache1S · 29/01/2013 18:07

I would say Elise is one of my frontrunners but our last name contains an 'ee' sound near the beginning so I don't think it will go. Sad Bloody hell, it is so hard!

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 18:10

I know, my last name has an 'el' sound near beginning, so it's a bit tricky with all the El-names. I really like the French Elisa as well (but not Eliza), but would you English-speaking people know how to pronounce that?

Rache1S · 29/01/2013 18:17

Do you pronounce it so it sound like Alisa?

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 18:36

More like Elisabeth, without the beth.

Rache1S · 29/01/2013 18:44

Errrr, I think that's a no to the English-speaking pronunciation then or I am just a thicko Blush

janey1234 · 29/01/2013 18:55

Like you hazle, we agree on several girls names we like, but no boys....Blush

Glad went well at the doctors today - get eating! Wink

Just popping in to say hi elderberries! How are you all? How exciting to be choosing names etc, I am beyond jealous!

Nobody has graduated here for a long time, hope we can all join you soon! Although I expect you'll all have babies by then lol Smile

HazleNutt · 29/01/2013 19:37

Hey we were wondering when we'll have more graduates joining. Mostly debating here if we look more like seals or manatees at the moment..
