Sept 2013?

legoboat · 22/12/2012 19:42

Hello - bit early, but I definitely had two positives this morning, wanted to check on drinking vodka this evening or not. I make due date 4th Sep 2013.
I had to terminate a pregnancy in late Sep at 13ish weeks because of incompatible with life diagnosis, so hope that doesn't happen again (I have a 25% chance but hopefully I'll fall in the 75% this time).

OP posts:

Amiready- I have the Mumsnet pregnancy book and it says that you are absolutely fine to get your hair coloured during pg. They add that if you are really concerned you can wait till end of first trimester, or opt for highlights as the dye doesn't come in contact with your skin.

Kittenkatzen · 10/01/2013 16:32

amiready hopefully we're just lucky and will completely escape all horrible symptoms throughout our entire pregnancies :o

That is one seriously long list - guess we all stayed in over Christmas huh!!

Well I ventured back to the gym proper in my lunch break today (did yoga Monday but that doesn't count!)...thought I'd better take it easy so just went for 30 mins cycle on an easy hill climb setting, and man am I wiped out this afternoon! I could seriously just rest my head on my keyboard and sleep!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 10/01/2013 16:50

mummyofprawn I have had a few dildoscans - a couple of years ago and then two more in the past few weeks. It's not really a big deal, was fine. Tip: just in case the sonographer doesn't give you any privacy like the last scan I had and just asks you to drop your pants and lie down in front of her (rather than asking you to call after you've got your pants off and laid down and covered yourself), I recommend wearing a stretchy dress rather than jeans or trousers or if the latter then a long top.

kipsonline · 10/01/2013 18:23

Thank you for lovely messages, and great to know some others with unplanned additions to allegedly complete families! Getting more excited every day now !

My first 2 pregnancies were entirely symptom free until 15 weeks, and v healthy, so to anyone fretting I'd say enjoy the lack of sick/exhaustion etc while you can!

This time around is a different story however. I am only 6+2 and can no longer fit in skinny jeans, feel sick as a dog and am always yawning! Secretly hoping this might mean DD after 2 DS but more likely to be age related I fear!!!

Thanks for updating list, I can't believe what a large group we are! Good luck to everyone having appts

dorapeppageorgenoddy · 10/01/2013 18:53

Kips and Mono - also another one going from 2 to (hopefully) 3...all a bit scary and all a bit quicker in the life plan than we thought - Can I blame downton Abby? We were waiting for it to start on Christmas Day...and started talking about how a 3rd child would be good etc and then well here we are....

Anyway I am grateful (of course) to be here just forgot how stressful the first 12 weeks are....knickerwatch constantly!

Celosia · 10/01/2013 18:56

Wow! So it's real - 4+4 today EDD 15 Sept. I wore a pair of jeans 2 days ago and they were fine, today I can't even get the zip up! That is ridiculous! I'm thinking whale springs to mind in 8 months.....

Wondering how to tell the other little people now ...yikes

LexyMa · 10/01/2013 19:45

Yes I'm wondering when to tell DS. We know he will love the idea and will probably be a doting big brother (he will just have turned 4 when DC2 comes). But need to pick a moment that is not too early so takes too long to wait.

Not going to tell work in anything other than the administrative sense until as long as I can, although after 12 week scan if people guess I will agree/confirm, but they're all too polite I think!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 10/01/2013 20:03

Hi SpanishLady - I'm fine today! Thank you for thinking of me. Had the GP appointment which was a little underwhelming. Have been referred to the midwife who will get in touch. As you say amiready, its nice to feel things are underway.

I can't get into any of my jeans etc either, though oddly haven't actually gained weight - just increased size?! Maybe I'm shrinking elsewhere due to the lack of alcohol and healthy diet which is counter-balancing the rounder tum.

Congrats on telling hubby kips. I'm sure it's just not what he had planned and he'll do a little adjusting and then realise he's over the moon.

JM233 - how was the yoga?

Purple - theres a 13 month gap between my neices and they're the best of friends. Brother and wife say they wouldn't have it any other way now!

TotalShock · 10/01/2013 20:07

Wow this is a big group!

If I didn't know I was pregnant I don't think I would of realised yet, although having just looked in the mirror (which I generally try to avoid as a rule) I was horrified, now I've always been overweight but even for me my stomach area seems a little excessive! So am I just this huge or am I going to be the size of a truck in September.....????

I really think I need to lose some weight but don't really know how to go about it now and be safe and sensible

We're trying not to tell anyone yet but had to point blank lie to my friend today when she asked so are you going to have babies..

Hope everyone is well

kimjayne · 10/01/2013 20:08

finally got my appetite back today! I was really shaky and weak when I walked home from work. Just tucked into the biggest burger! Feeling like a right greedy pig now. But god it was gooooood! Grin

I have a dilemma with work! Im only 5.4 weeks gone and my boss has arranged a works party for next week! Im normally known for being the cocktail lover of the office so hes booked a cocktail bar. How on earth am I gonna get away with not drinking?? Sad help!!!

andadietcoke · 10/01/2013 20:18

kimjayne antibiotics? Or driving?

Has anyone else had leg pain that goes up to their groin (really low down, almost crotchy)? Fine when walking round, but hurts sitting down when it feels like period pain, just in completely the wrong place. Abdomen and back fine... Tomorrow is the day my mc started in my last pg so am even more panicked than normal - big milestone to get past for me.

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 10/01/2013 20:22

My DH kindly told me that the jeans I was wearing were far too tight. I was only going to dog training, but unfortunately they are the biggest ones I have! I'm only approx 7 weeks!!

Morning sickness is lasting all day for me, but defo suppressed by ginger and lemon tea - although I only dip the bag in and out. The girls at work are being v good and they have already learnt i have 2 cups - one for the drink, one for the bag - and to dip the bag!

jm233 have you done the yoga yet? Where did you get it? There is a lady in town who does pregnancy yoga but she hasn't got anyone ATM so I'm reluctant to go by myself.

I have booking apt next Thursday.

Does anyone know if you can book a private birthing pool? I know this sounds a bit snobby - but my mum said last night 'get booked for a water birth' I did try and explain that I don't think you can put your name down, as birth will happen regardless of what day of the week it is. You'd think she would know?!

jennimoo · 10/01/2013 21:08

rosy Here the pools at the birth centre / hospital are first come first served. If you say you want one as soon as you get there that helps. We planned to have a home birth so hired one, but no MWs available and so ended up at hospital after all.

dorapeppageorgenoddy · 10/01/2013 21:16

How is everyone? I was sick for the first time today so it made it all feel real and in a crazy way quite like the sickness feeling as its a confirmation of symptoms but it has all gone now...

How is everyone doing? Any strange symptoms? I have very itchy legs which I have had throughout previous pregnancies...

Feel like I'm already eating too much and by the evening my stomach looks huge already! Been browsing asos and gap maternity on my phone...

jm233 · 10/01/2013 22:17

Dietcoke- I had that! It was one of the first things that made me think I was pg! It was in my hip, in my bikini area, and after a day or so went all the way down to my knee.

The yoga was good! It's called Pregnancy Yoga with Tara Lee, got it on Amazon. It has quite a few different sections (bits for labour, partner work, breathing etc) but I just did the 'full practice' today. It is quite a gentle workout so I think I will do it in combination with something else (or would be good if you've never done yoga before), but it gave me such a great stretch and definitely made my sore back feel better (and that's worth it's weight in gold today). Very relaxing and some nice background music too.

andadietcoke · 10/01/2013 22:28

jm233 I think I love you a little bit. Thank you. I've been self diagnosing all sorts.

I'd love to try yoga. Used to be really bendy but not so much any more Wink

SGJ · 10/01/2013 22:33

Another one here with minimal symptoms - but then I've been back at work this week so no time to notice really! Was the same with DD, and thinking back I do remember the massive bloat phase of 6 weeks (am 6+2), so I can relate to anyone feeling a little bigger at the moment! No weight gain though, so hopefully will follow same pattern as last time and bloat will ease off in the next couple of weeks.
Still haven't heard anything from the community midwives re:booking appointment, but then they are notoriously slow around this way...

CharlW1 · 11/01/2013 07:20

First doctor's appointment for me today (6 weeks tomorrow) I'm hoping I will be able to get referred for an early scan due to .mc with last pregnancy. Such a nervous time the first trimester. I have started to feel sick for the past 2 days and definitely feel bigger but don't have that many symptoms yet.

Hope you all have a good day today. r.

Kittenkatzen · 11/01/2013 07:38

Morning Smile

charlw1 good luck at the docs today let us know how it goes

Still minimal symptoms here too, I'm constantly starving and knackered, and boobs feel heavy and sore without a bra but that's about it. Although pg brain seems to be setting in with a vengeance already - in just the last 2/3 days I have:

  • sent my boss off to a conference on the other side of town...a MONTH early Blush
  • booked Jennifer Saunders in for some internal training Confused
  • miscommunicated so badly that our events team wondered why on earth I could possibly need £800 of catering for a small internal meeting
  • lost my expensive beats by dre headphones, only to have them turn up the next day all neatly packed away in their case in my handbag

I'm going to need locking up if this is set to continue fur the next 8 months!

LexyMa · 11/01/2013 10:04

I took a wrong road home on Tuesday - two similar rural lanes, took the first instead of the second. Only realised when halfway along, thought, I don't recognise this bend and that hedge... OH NO!! but the two roads converged at the end anyway so not a disaster.

Have been having some vocabulary fun too - was at a meeting at Deloitte yesterday and there was a huge pause when I was asking/explaining about something and I just could not find the word... it was nothing unusual, probably some basic term like 'analysis' or 'consult'. Last time I was pg I was forever saying things like "ooh would you make me a supermarket, love" ... "" ... "I mean a cup of tea, er, what did I just say?"

jm233 · 11/01/2013 10:43

I told DH yesterday that he has to 'fix a new one', after letting him know the lid from the sugar pot cracked in half. I think we were both very confused about what exactly I was after... Confused

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 11/01/2013 10:56

Lol! I haven't had any mishaps yet, which is good because I'm daft enough as it is! Grin I was feeling really rough a few days ago, couldn't eat, sore boobs, knackered, but it's eased off a bit thankfully, there a long way to go! I was starting to worry though, but thankfully I feel nicely rough today! The results of my beta hCG tests might be back today. I'm hoping ill start to feel a little more positive if they come back showing a nice rise! I have peed on about a dozen sticks so far, just to make sure I'm still pg! Thank heavens for the £1 shop, or this could be a costly few weeks! Confused

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 11/01/2013 11:26

Oh CRIKEY! Blood HCG has gone from 900 to 1450, so not doubled but definitely going up. Have another on Monday. I might well have a nervous breakdown!!

badguider · 11/01/2013 11:26

I am trying not to worry about not having any typical symptoms at all really - no nausea not even much tiredness, though i am pretty hungry... but there's definately something happening in my lower abdomen as i can sort of feel stuff moving around in there and also boobs are getting huge and sore.
I'm seesawing between being happy to not be sick and worried about not being sick Confused

andadietcoke · 11/01/2013 11:27

Allegedly, the night before last, at about 1am I smacked DH over the head and started shrieking about 'getting my first pregnancy card'. He was not amused. I couldn't understand why he was cross with me, and tried to explain myself (I'm vaguely conscious during these episodes) which apparently just sounded like jibberish. I'm special.

5 weeks today. Nipples feeling a bit less sore, burping less, and tummy just vaguely aching as opposed to the gas pains.

If I make it through the weekend I'm going for a 3+ on a conception indicator next week (haven't been brave enough yet!)
