Sept 2013?

Hello - bit early, but I definitely had two positives this morning, wanted to check on drinking vodka this evening or not. I make due date 4th Sep 2013.
I had to terminate a pregnancy in late Sep at 13ish weeks because of incompatible with life diagnosis, so hope that doesn't happen again (I have a 25% chance but hopefully I'll fall in the 75% this time).

I'm in the 33 club too! Do we get badges or something? Grin

Can't help on the nausea front just yet I'm afraid as I'm ok so far (only 4+4)...hope you find something that works soon though. Have you tried softmints/peppermint tea? I get carsick and find they help a little, you never know...

batfuttocks · 07/01/2013 07:59

Badges would be lovely Grin

Apparently this is a peak time of year to get knocked up. Lots of shagging when nights draw in or something. The most common birth date is the 16th September: Christmas has a lot to answer for!

Kids about to wake up. Bracing myself for all that activity when I actually just want to lie here and die quietly.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 07/01/2013 08:04

bat I don't know what helps. The only thing that I've found has helped so far is actually going and being sick!

batfuttocks · 07/01/2013 08:08

I know! I'm so jealous!

Whyriskit · 07/01/2013 08:19

kips we're going from 2 to 3 as well - if all goes to plan DS1 will be nearly 6 & DS2 will be just 3 when this one arrives.
Seems like I've mostly been feeling sick in the evenings but today I really feel yuck, just in time to be walking to school with DS1 and swimming lessons with DS2!

kimjayne · 07/01/2013 08:23

have you tried travel sickness bracelets? they are ugly as hell and a 100% giveaway sign you're pregggers unfortunately so wearing them to work is a no no ... but they do seem to help me with the nausea. Hope this helps! :)

jennimoo · 07/01/2013 08:32

I feel grim too. All that helps is trying to keep eating and drinking. The gas and bloating doesn't help so mint tea would probably help but can't stomach it at the mo :(

HettySunshine · 07/01/2013 08:34

I don't feel any different, except perhaps a bit tired - although I am going back to work today after two weeks off so it could be that I guess. Is it wrong that I an excited about having all the weird symptoms?

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. When should I let my boss know?

(I'd love a '33 and up the duff' badge!

HettySunshine · 07/01/2013 08:35

P.s not let my boss know about the doctors - let her know I'm preggers!

batfuttocks · 07/01/2013 08:41

Oh yes, the bracelets. I did have a pair in my last pregnancy. With those and my mouth guard (apparently I grind my teeth when.pregnant) I looked gorgeous at bed time. I must have a look for them as I seem to recall thinking they were helpful.

This is my third pregnancy too: ds (in bed with me reading a dinosaur book) is 6 and dd nearly 4. I had sort of forgotten how badly the first trimester suits me!

batfuttocks · 07/01/2013 08:42

Ps thank you those who also feel grim. Genuinely feel marginally better knowing its not just me! Although terribly sorry for you all, of course Wink

Wincher · 07/01/2013 08:49

Sympathies to those feeling grim. I'm ok so far but it's early days! I will be 33 when I have the baby, can I join the club as an honorary member?!

Kittenkatzen · 07/01/2013 09:09

:o

hetty I feel completely normal too so far - how far along are you? I'm not planning on telling my work until I absolutely have to!

jennimoo · 07/01/2013 09:21

I'll probably tell my boss after I have the early scan, especially if feel this rough! I think she'll probably do what she can to make it easier for me if she knows, and although ill be first person she's had on maternity (small new company, she's the owner too...) I think she'll be really pleased for me.
Just had marmite on toast and feel human for a few minutes! Better play with DD. she wasn't enjoying the 'mummy baby' game we were playing anymore, where I laid on sofa and she tucked me in and pretended to tell me a story...

Whyriskit · 07/01/2013 09:35

I think I told my boss before the scan both times previously. My scan date isn't until the end of Feb and I should probably tell her because I work with the public and I have to do risk assessments and stuff.

andadietcoke · 07/01/2013 09:57

Not telling work until at least after 12 week scan. They knew about my mc and my boss has been a nightmare since - basically giving any project that will take more than 6 months to anyone else and dumping stuff that should be mine on other people. I have a lot of tacit knowledge and he's panicking that it will be lost when I go.

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 07/01/2013 10:13

It's all such a mine field isn't it?

bat I had that with DC1, feeling nauseous all the time but was only sick once. This time round though, I'm feeling nauseous all the time AND I'm constantly sick. Think I actually preferred it last time as it was much less messy and didn't require close proximity to a loo at all times!

jm233 · 07/01/2013 10:34

I'm now 5+2, and I am not feeling dick enough for my liking! Is anyone else completely 'sick free' at this stage? I know all you girls feeling dreadful must think I'm mad, but at least you know that everything is ticking over nicely!
I cannot stop thinking about pork dumplings from the Chinese... I see them everywhere I go...

jm233 · 07/01/2013 10:36

Gulp! Definitely not 'dick'!!! Sick would be the word I was looking for... Damn you iphone... Damn you!!! Blush

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 07/01/2013 10:44

I craved salt last time and it was a girl. Feeling so sick but haven't actually puked yet, don't remember feeling this terrible last time.
Sort of hoping for a boy and that's maybe why I'm feeling different!

jennimoo · 07/01/2013 10:50

Don't worry if you don't feel sick, I have friends who really didn't feel bad at all, and last time I didn't get any ms til 6 weeks anyway. I haven't been sick, but last time wasn't til 10 weeks!

jennimoo · 07/01/2013 10:51

Now remembered what I wanted to post: does anyone else feel cold / shivery at times too when they feel sick? Would be 'funny' if I actually had some kind of bug instead...

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 07/01/2013 10:56

jm233 Grin I get what you're saying about feeling sick being a sign that things are happening but I've heard/read of pregnancies where people have had a MMC and they've still had really strong symptoms, or pregnancies where symptoms have stopped but they've still gone on to have a baby or pregnancies where there have been no symptoms whatsoever that have still resulted in a baby. I don't think it's a useful indicator of what's going on because each pregnancy is so different that there's no "experience a b and c and you have a x% chance of things going well!" as much as I keep trawling through threads to see if I can discern a magic formula

But I know it's one thing to "know" something and another to actually believe it, which is why I'm so grateful that these boards exist!

girlwiththeyellowhat I felt sick last time without being sick and he was a boy, and I'm craving salt this time (and am sort of hoping for a girl!) so based on our study of 2, fingers crossed!

Speaking of jm233 unfortunately freudian slip, is anyone else experiencing higher than usual levels of ahem, randiness. This only hit me at the beginning of the second trimester last time, and am feeling so exhausted that it's completely taken me by surprise. Not that I'm brave enough to do anything about it...

jemimahpuddleduck · 07/01/2013 10:59

JM233 loved your post really made me chuckle! I think we've probably all felt quite enough dick for a minute! Grin

From what I've been reading sickness usually come along about 6 weeks. I'm only 4+1 myself so only at the sore boobs stage. I know it sounds odd but I'm quite looking forward to feeling sick so like you we know things are ticking over!

jemimahpuddleduck · 07/01/2013 11:07

Looks like I cross posted.

wee haven't had the randiness yet.
