Oh what a lovely name :):) I like it very very much Thanks

TheLittleFriend · 13/01/2013 18:46

I'm in awe of the names the Brookers are churning out at the moment. That is a another cracker Whims, I love it Smile

SweetieTime · 13/01/2013 19:58

Fantastic birth story Whims glad all went so well. Loving his name too.

GreenOlives · 13/01/2013 20:03

Great name! Grin And lovely pic on FB, he's a cracker! Grin Thanks

clickingtock · 13/01/2013 21:24

Great Story and names Whim. You and I had a lot in common with our little brooking babs: both 7lb 4oz, both gave us two stitches, both born with only paracetamol in our bloodstream. Similar timing for established labour do you think? I can just picture your ballet pose as Orson popped into the world. Smile Bfing sounds intense. Astrid is being a bit kinder and only feeding once between midnight and 6am, though on the breast lots in the day. How are your boys feeling about their new brother? ThanksThanksThanksThanks

Little, only right that you shd put your feet up. How are you diddling? And the other triple whammiers?

Struggling to decide between two options for guardians. Any advice? Shd we be choosing the same people as we chose for DS?

Tock teen and Toddly boo have the same 3 god parents (they were baptised together) but Baby boo will have at least one, possibly 2 different ones. One because he has showed no interest since the baptism, the second because I'm not sure she is the friend I thought she was 2 years ago :( but I will decide later. I have no problem with them having different ones is what I am getting at.

Withalittlesparkle · 13/01/2013 22:19

Such awesome names from the brookers!! Could someone's compile a list?!

I bought my first baby toy this weekend, little cuddly rat!!!!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 13/01/2013 23:15

Amazing name Whims he is a beaut! Hope you get some more rest tonight Thanks

whimsicalname · 13/01/2013 23:16

perhaps in 30 years time or so tock we'll be celebrating the first brooking baby wedding!

I imagine he'll swap day and night around in a few days. I've had a couple of naps today so not feeling too bad, and we're pretty much fighting off neighbours bringing meals around. It's really just a shame it's rained all day, so the boys haven't been able to play outside and they're all being a bit mad now. Still, we can put them to bed soon... (I've just realised anyone who doesn't know where we live will think I'm a terrible mother who puts her children to bed at midnight. Ah well.)

frootz thanks, I'm not really concerned, when I was in hospital was a broken bone I had to inject some horridness in to my stomach so sure the anti D cant be any worse Smile

clickingtock · 15/01/2013 09:05

Good luck with jabs. I'm usually q averse to meds etc as I'm a bit of a hippy but I did go for WC jab as I decided it was safer for baby than catching WC and I live in a city so more chance of catching it. Let us know what you decide...

Boo, thanks for guardian advice. DS has lovely guardians, two guys (gay couple) who are fab and he adores them. But for Astrid I have an older friend in mind who has no kids sadly, but is v kind and loving. She has one godson already. I'm never sure tho if it's a privilege or a burden. Sorry to hear your friend has disappointed Hmm get someone else lined up, as you don't have much choice. DP And I are also v close to a couple that we have both known since school age (well, him, then i introduced them as she was a friend of mine from work).I feel they are v busy and might worry that it's a responsibility but the they might be chart we haven't asked... Blush dilemmas...

Withalittlesparkle · 15/01/2013 09:20

tock could you not wait a bit and see who bonds with Astrid the most? I'm a godmother, but to my Niece so not entirely sure that counts but I don't see it as a chore, just an excuse for more cuddles (may have entirely missed the point of a godparent being non religious and all)

GenericDietCola · 15/01/2013 10:47

Whim, I loved your birth story and the name. I suggested that name to DH but as you know, we decided on something different in the end.

Tock, no advice really re guardians, but I am working on DH re getting DS baptised and would want different godparents than DD has. Not because the other godparents are no good, just because I want to honor someone else with it if that makes sense. I have my BIL in mind as he is so lovely and was very supportive to this brooker when things were not going so well.

Froot, I had the whooping cough vaccination. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk as WC can be fatal in babies.

Little, I'm glad you're getting organised! We got a buggy board at the weekend and DD loves it. In fact, I did the playgroup run with DS and DD for the first time today and found it quite easy with DD on the board.

Triple whammiers next then!

BartletForTeamGB · 15/01/2013 12:04

froot, I'm with Generic. There don't appear to be any risks to having the WC vaccine but might be significant risks to NOT having it. I had mine at 31/40. Gosh, I've just noticed that even tock had it! Wink

Blood sugars looking perfect here so I don't think I have GDM, but still got to go for the GTT on Friday. Scan next Thursday to see how things are going. The vomiting has really settled down again, so I wonder if the baby was just having a growth spurt that has now settled down.

tock, we will have the same guardians for both the DC in terms of our wills. The guardians are DC1's godparents but we'll probably pick different godparents for DC3, not for a bad reason but to share the responsibility. I think it is a wonderful gift to be asked to be a child's godparents. We were certainly really touched when asked about ours (one we have had together since we got married, but also the ones we had as single people).

Lots to do this morning while I am feeling well so had better crack on. Hope everyone else is well. Not long to go now, fellow Triple Whammiers!

NewYearNewBoo · 15/01/2013 12:55

I had my 24 week check today and I was told that a wc jab really would be best for me and booby. The check went very well, the little one got hiccups while the mw was listening in, ooh very cute!! I have also been advised to go for another scan for growth, will discuss when at my next appt, which is also gtt time :(

TheLittleFriend · 15/01/2013 13:07

Really good news about your blood sugars Bartlet Smile

And good to hear your Mw check went well Boo. My bump is getting hiccups loads at the moment, tis cute indeed.

Frootz I had flu & wc jabs at about 28 wks. I'm very pro-vaccination though, and take whatever's on offer Wink

Dp is going to get the nursing chair down from the loft later and put it by our bed so I can try and sleep in it when my hips are unbearable at night. Save me dragging myself downstairs Hmm

whimsicalname · 15/01/2013 18:14

gen your boy's name was on our shortlist too! Great minds...

I was given the WC jab post partum, and MrWhim told to get one too. he'll have to get a doc first

So sorry to hear you're suffering little. I hope the chair offers some respite. My mum just had a hip replacement, and found she was comfier halfway thru the night going to sleep in a recliner..

whimsicalname · 15/01/2013 18:15

Oh look that posted itself. Hello everyone else. I'm trying to do this left thumbed while feeding

cakes82 · 15/01/2013 20:31

Whim am I right to understand you had DS then they gave you the WC jab? There was mention of them doing that in the UK but my DD was born in the couple of weeks after the vaccination program being rolled out so I never had it. Luckily DD has now had her first two jabs so no longer an issue.

whimsicalname · 15/01/2013 20:40

Exactly right cakes. They also tried to keep taking my boy away to bath him andoffered to circumcise him every 10min. It's a foreign country I tell you.

cakes82 · 15/01/2013 21:25

What?! since when has circumcision been such a big thing outside religious circles or medical problems? When I was in hospital the baby bath came to us,,,

whimsicalname · 15/01/2013 22:10

It was on my notes as 'bathing declined' like I was completely deviant. 'because he won't smell like a new baby' was really not seen as good grounds for refusing!

RubberBullets · 16/01/2013 10:10

Over here they tell you not to bath the baby for the first few days because it is bad for the skin.

TheLittleFriend · 16/01/2013 10:16

I love the idea of Whims being seen as very naughty for not wanting to have her newborn whisked off to have his first bath given to him by a Mw Smile. How long do people usually stay in over there? I bet you've come home early too haven't you Wink
