trying to type one handed, sorry for errors!
Had a really good nights sleep on Sunday, so woke up Monday feeling quite well. I cuddled up to DH and then felt a strong pain, so hopped out of bed and felt a trickle. I started having pains, but they weren't too bad, so I sent the children to school and DH off to work. I rang triage and they said to come in, so I called DH and got him to come home. By this time I'd managed to get round to downloading a contraction app and the pains were every 90 seconds to 3 minutes and lasting for 30 to 45 seconds, but I still didn't feel like I was in labour. So I called my mom and was chatting away between the pains and getting on with my morning, I emptied the dishwasher and washing machine, cleaned the kitchen, did some handwashing, the usual.
Dh got home and we went off to the hospital, I thought they would check me and send me home, so we left all the bags in the car, but when I got to triage I had 2 huge pains and when they examined me, the midwife said, 'You're fully dilated, don't push, I'm not ready!!'
So I got wheeled through to delivery suite by people running with my bed through the corridor, with DH running behind. I got to the room and started pushing and my new baby boy was born an hour later. I still can't believe I woke up and I was fine and by lunch time......I'd had a baby!!!!!
He was born in his waters, which is supposed to be lucky and quite unusual, it made delivering the head a lot more comfortable and I had one tiny tear and no stitches. So I came home that evening and we've been settling in at home today.
Good luck to all those still waiting, the last bit of discomfort is totally worth it. My little man is just gorgeous, we are all besotted with him
