ellliebelle · 14/12/2012 11:21

Wow congrats fod great fast labour cant wait to see whatvyou've called him

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 14/12/2012 11:35

Turning over in bed usually involves semi-sitting up, grunting a lot, levering with one arm and shuffling slowly round... also often pushing DH out of the way in order to get more room for manoeuvre! Maybe I should follow daydream's example and get DH to push me over seeing as how he's often woken up by it anyway. though knowing him he'd probably push too hard and I'd end up on the floor... still it might bring on labour!

This is my second day of sporadic mild cramping and it's going nowhere... waiting for the midwife to come and do a stretch and sweep but no sign yet. I slept so badly last night though that I don't really mind doing nothing all day.

Congratulations FoD!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2012 12:12

Wow that's fast FoD congratulations Smile

FriendofDorothy · 14/12/2012 12:14

His name is Edward James.

He weighed 7lbs 6.5oz.

He is gorgeous and I am smitten.

Barbeasty · 14/12/2012 12:16

Congratulations FoD.

Well the bleeding was the start of labour. Anthony was born at 8.29 weighing 8lb 2.5oz.

All done on gas & air, with 2nd degree tear. So much better than last time.

Even as I was pushing they tried to scan as his head was low & they weren't entirely convinced it was a head.

It was lovely that as I arrived at triage the mw had been training when I had DD and remembered me.

Just waiting for DH to come back with the cat seat from the roof, so we can transfer to the MLU.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/12/2012 12:19

The cat seat from the roof Confused Grin

Congratulations Barbeasty! You ladies are quick today!

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 14/12/2012 12:25

Congrats, FOD and barb!

Have had a bit of a show after sweep last night, but nothing other than that, really. Was quite impressed it did anything, as I'm only 38 weeks today, but baby is 3/5 engaged (better than DS ever was!), cervix only slightly posterior, 1 cm dilated, and half the length of a not open for business cervix, so things are definitely looking good.

Another sweep booked for Wednesday, and in between now and then I shall be walking, on the ball, and having lots of sex Xmas Wink I'm hoping for a Thursday baby - a rather cool birthday 20/12/2012!

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 14/12/2012 12:25

Congratulations Barbeasty Thanks

I'm still waiting for the midwife, should go and start making lunch, I bet she'll arrive just as it's ready so I can't eat it!

Barbeasty · 14/12/2012 12:32

Well DD did originally want a cat....

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 14/12/2012 12:33

Congrats Barbeasty lots of lovely little boys names. Hope you're both well.

Been doing some last minute nesting and putting away gifts from friends/family. I'm off to buy some buns/salad to make DP's packed lunch for the hospital tomorrow. It's awfully hungry work being punched sworn at by a sweaty, labouring woman!

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 14/12/2012 12:34

Ouch, imagine birthing a cat. Do they come with claws or do they come in later?

ISpyDingDongMerrilyOnHigh · 14/12/2012 12:57

Wow, just popped over from post-natal to see how everyone's getting on and it's been a busy morning! Congratulations FOD and Barbeasty and welcome Edward and Anthony Thanks.

Hang on in there everyone else.

emilyeggs · 14/12/2012 13:24

Congratulations barb and I'm glad it it all went Thanks. Who's next?

Bubs is tickling my ribs (quite violently I may add) with feet!

Hormonalhell · 14/12/2012 14:49

I like the idea of that birthday too bunty Smile

As each day goes by I just get more fed up, have had it with pregnancy - feeling crap, unable to walk, eat, sleep properly just want my body back and babe in my arms....rant over Angry

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/12/2012 14:50

Congratulations fod and barbeasty

So many boys!!

emilyeggs · 14/12/2012 15:08

hormonal we must stay strong! We mustn't let it beat us......that or create the fed up futon to sulk (Uncomfortably) on Hmm

leobear · 14/12/2012 15:16

Hi everyone - sorry I am so bad at keeping in touch on here, it's so busy! But I do read every day.

Congratulations fod barbeasty and all the other new arrivals!

hormonal and others, I feel your pain! Am 39 +2 today - on my own with DD (age 2), while DH at work. Feel rank - tmi, but have a really gripey tummy, pains and fast movement. Anyone else had that? It's making sleeping really hard, and then I just feel ropey all day. Managed to take DD to singing group this morning, but now wracked with guilt over how much TV she's watching....

FriendofDorothy · 14/12/2012 15:22

Can someone link to the postnatal thread for me please?

MyDaydream · 14/12/2012 15:29

Congratulations FOD and barb.
buntys I really want a 20/12/2012 baby, I really like saying the date.
I'm so uncomfortable, my back keeps going funny, I got stuck in the bathroom of Pizza Hut for a whole with painful BH and I've had feet in ribs all day. I'm so ready for this to be over.

Bellaboo123 · 14/12/2012 15:31

Congrats FoD and Barbeasty!
