Shagged Out Viroids 6th Thread! From Early Days to Ready To Pop - Proof that JSing really does work!

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members Grin

We've just moved over from the Shagged Out Viroids Volume 5 thread, where we finally found out that a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!
The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread Confused Grin

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 12th thread Thanks

MrsBri · 28/02/2013 07:31

Oh, I forgot notso...I'm sorry. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I hope you have a lovely sticky bean. xx

MrsBri · 28/02/2013 20:28

Tired...the hypnobirthing book etc arrived today, thank you :-)

If you want the postage money back let me know.

tiredteddy · 28/02/2013 21:16

Oh good mrsbri! Enjoy and no worries about postage at all Smile

Pineapple80 · 01/03/2013 08:14

I'm keen to read up on hypnobirthing myself! I really wanted to do a course but the costs are huge here and im hoping that maybe a book or DVD would be just good. I have also always wanted to do prenatal yoga but haven't even found the time to yet! It's terrible since there is a yoga place 5 mins walk from here! On the upside I did go swimming last weekend which I really enjoyed. Smile

GaryBuseysTeeth · 01/03/2013 08:56

Just reading an old JS fred, manda said; 'On numbers, I have this crazy notion I'd like two get two at once, because then they would have an instant playmate and I'd only have to do maternity leave etc once! But three would be nice, but I'd have to see how I took to motherhood + career first.' Grin

The reason I was looking at an old JS fred...some of you may remember Fly-ing-Spro-cket? (put the - in so this isn't searchable, she was a JS back before Tired graduated, and she joined here for awhile) I've just seen on the July 13 thread that she has lost her baby (waters went too early). Sad

for 24wks MrsBri and congrats on the scan Kitten.
notso, will be keeping everything tightly crossed for you. x

WingDefence · 01/03/2013 10:21

Oh blimey Gary that's really sad :(

Hi to everyone else :) MrsBri I hope you're nicely settled into your new house now that the broadband is sorted Grin I'm really looking forward to introducing MiniWing to you when she's born and we come to Southport!

tired is hypnobirthing basically about breathing and visualisation? That did help me get to 7cms last time.

notso, we're thinking of you.

The MW is due to drop the 'home confinement' (I hate that term!) box today! I think I may get a bit of a shock when I see what's in it but I am actually looking forward to it crazy I know now. Ask me again in a week or two's time Wink

I am finding that the deadline of leaving work 2 weeks today is making me very productive. So much so, I'd better get on!

Hope you all have good days x

WingDefence · 01/03/2013 13:53

HB box has been delivered! MW said I looked a lot less tired as well I don't feel less tired though! which was nice of her :)

I haven't gone through it yet but it's a big plastic crate with lots of streile packets in it and a load of inco pads on top.

I was emailing a friend earlier who had posted an article on FB about home births and (she's a yoga teacher) she told me about the 'golden thread breath' which is meant to be really good in labour. As there appear to be no yoga teachers or classes near me I've done a bit of googling and have found these links you may find useful too:

Golden thread 1

Golden thread and more

Golden thread, more detailed

I am really on a hormonal high today and can't believe that I'm actually looking forward to the birth Grin I hope I get less excited/more realistic the nearer I get to the birth otherwise I'll be in danger of massive disappointment! Confused

OP posts:
WingDefence · 01/03/2013 13:54

'streile' should obviously be 'sterile'!

OP posts:
GaryBuseysTeeth · 01/03/2013 14:06

Cheers for those links Wing, I'm hoping to avoid all the drugs this time as I have no memory of DS being born (too tired & off my face).
We'll remind you how much you were looking forward to the birth when you're bemoaning the stitches & piles Wink

2 weeks until the end of work, wow it's flow by for you (from here anyway).

Starting to feel a bit UTI-y so if MW doesn't get back to me with results this weekend I'll go in to GP on Monday & someone else can have a pot of my skanky pee.
DS is teething, but happy about it all. Calm before the storm?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

WingDefence · 01/03/2013 14:40

Thanks Gary - yes please do feel free to remind me of today when I'm in labour Grin

My DS never had that much of a problem with teething. I remember looking in his mouth one day and spotting two molars! Shock I think his poos got runnier and he got nappy rash but other than that he was fine. I have friends whose DCs feel really bad when teething so we were lucky and fingers crossed you will be too :)

OP posts:
MrsBri · 01/03/2013 15:56

That's so sad, Gary. Poor flying :-(

And yes, Wing, much happier now that is sorted. Sounds sad, but I really need to be able to work from home, so feel better now I can!

Can't wait to meet MiniWing :-) I'll be utterly MAHOOSIVE by then. Hopefully I won't scare the baby!!

ChildOfThe1980s · 01/03/2013 19:52

Thinking of you, notso hope you are ok.

Wing that's awful about your brother. I would be heartbroken if I fell out with mine (we are also 3.5 years apart, and were close as kids). I would keep trying, but maybe after you've had the baby, and they might calm down? Not nice that you and your parents have to put up with that though. Just a thought, do they have children? Just thinking they might be avoiding you for that reason.

Thanks for that golden thread link, I tried it and it does seem to work quite quickly.

I had a bit of a fright today- (TMI) baby hadn't moved all morning, and then I had a big blob of orange-tinted stuff when I wiped. Not nice. I've never had this before. Luckily it hasn't happened again, and baby has been active tonight. I phoned the MW who said I may have a bladder infection, but I have no pain at all, so that can't be right? Anyway, I got stressed about it but everything seems to be ok now. Phew.

MrsBri · 01/03/2013 19:58

Poor you, Child...that's almost exactly what led to me spending the afternoon in the maternity ward the other week, except mine was pink, not orange.

Hope baby is moving again now.

ChildOfThe1980s · 01/03/2013 21:53

MrsBri what was the reason for it?

Yes, Baby has been fairly active tonight.

tiredteddy · 01/03/2013 22:32

WING I never really read the hypnobirthing, was so busy up until Xmas then time ran out. I'm a real feel safe at hospital person anyway but some friends talk very highly of it all. You sound like you are getting really organised and ready now! Exciting.

So sad to hear the news about FLY-ING, I remember her from JS Sad

CHILD that sounds like you've had a bit of a scare. Are you ok now? What did they think caused it?

NOTSO fingers crossed. How are you?

Hi to GARY and PINEAPPle. And everyone else on here.

And on a happy note I spy on FB that SOMETHING is home at last and well.

Hooya · 02/03/2013 00:24

Hello all! Disappeared for a week as my insane boss was in Japan visiting and creating loads of work for me!

Great to hear that something is safe and sound Smile

Sad sad news about flying, it's just awful Sad

Notso we are all rooting for you seems like prepare for the worst, hope for the best is all you can do, you are strong and will get through it!

Wing can I borrow some of your energy?! So brilliant about the birth preparations, how exciting, what's in the box? I'm intrigued!

Child how scary, hope all is well now!

GBT ha ha at skanky pee Grin

Kitten yay for the scan and telling people - I love telling people!

Hi to anyone else I missed!

MrsBri · 02/03/2013 00:30

Child, they couldn't find a reason, but thought that as the speculum also made me bleed that it could have been from my cervix. One of those things for me, it seems. Scared me too though. Hope you're ok now.

Hooya · 02/03/2013 00:34

For us, just continuing the waiting really. There is some strange news - my SIL is also pregnant, 8 weeks ahead of me, and has just found out there is quite a high risk of Down's. They are still super excited and seem to be coping brilliantly but it certainly cast a shadow over her 20-week scan excitement. Just feel really bad that they are going through any uncertainty... They will be brilliant regardless of any additional needs the baby has and couldn't be better people to have a child with SN, but it must be tough for them Sad.

I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday, super excited and scared too. This will be my first amdominal scan too - all have been of the dildocam variety so far, so I'm pretty excited to 'graduate' to a proper in-the-movies style scan! I am trying not to worry since we had one at 8+2 which had a strong heartbeat, measuring bang on for dates, 4 limbs etc, but still scary! And I can't wait to tell everyone!!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/03/2013 10:54

So my skanky pee result is back..and it's not actually skanky. Hmm
It's got blood, protein & ketones in it, but no infection? Off to google loads.

Hooya, hope they get everything cleared up at the 20wk scan, must be so stressful to not know.
Excited for you, never had the pleasure of a dildocam!

Child, glad the scare is over.
Although I'd go get my wee checked if I were you as you could have a UTI without symptoms.

DS is similar to yours Wing, no grumpiness with teething (although when his first one came through at 5/6weeks he was devastated) just dribble and nappy rash.
He doesn't get nappy rash other than when he's teething thankfully.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Dysgu · 02/03/2013 12:15

Hi to all -

Wing I too could do with some of your energy if you have some more to spare. Although actually, once I get going I am fine, it is just that when I stop and sit down I really notice how exhausted I am!

This final week at work has been crazily busy as I try to make sure I have done everything to pass on to the teacher taking over for me. He has been great - but I still have a small amount of stuff to do that a friend will drop in for me on Monday!

Hooya hope your 12 week scan goes well- it is always such a worry and I am not sure it ever really goes away; even when you get to the stage that you can feel the baby move there is the constant worry that it is moving enough and then the angst when it stops moving... but hurrah for a 'proper' scan rather than the dildocam - I think they are much more common around the world than in the UK (from what I ave read and seen on TV!!)

Child yes you could still have a UTI with no symptoms so would be worth checking it out. I never worry about 'bothering' the medical people as I figure they might as well see me and reassure me as see anyone else IYKWIM - they are there for people to see!

Not that I usually need to see medical people a lot (until I decided to have DC3...) but still, that is my thinking on 'bothering' them.

And Good wishes for anyone I have missed. Hope you are all having a good, relaxed weekend.

Dysgu · 02/03/2013 12:16

I AM ON MATERNITY LEAVE!

I have never before made it to the start of maternity leave as it has always been a case of DP calling my boss the day the baby arrives to say I won't be in work the next day - and that triggers my ML - so this was something of an occasion!

I was so laden down wit gifts for the baby and flowers for me at the end of the day; it was a good job I had already brought home most of my personal stuff from work as there was very little room left in the boot (although the travel system is in there too). DDs were very excited to see everything and got really excited about all the little baby toys and rattles and then, this morning we have had a bit of a flower-arranging party on the dining table so all the flowers look lovely (rather than being plonked in the sink from last night as we got home late).

I got a huge flower arrangement from the staff - presented in assembly of course which took two children to carry. Then I struggled to hold it and had to sit it on my hip - it is in a cardboard base with the water inside - so was like practising carrying a baby when it gets bigger! Holding it in front of me was too hard as I couldn't see over it and had to have my arms stretched out to get past the bump!

And I saw my DMum and DDad for the first time in 6 weeks yesterday (they had been on holiday since January) and the first thing my DM said when she saw the bump was "My God, you're huge! I hope that's not planning on dropping any further yet!"

I don't know if I am huge but I knew my mum would be able to see the difference over the past 6 weeks. My bump does seem to grow in spurts - there was nothing for a long time, then it appeared, got bigger, stayed the same for ages and recently seems to have grown again! Colleagues at work say they can often see the difference over a weekend when it happens! Mostly I am still wearing the same clothes from before my PG though along with long vest/t-shorts or belly bands. Most of my trousers sit pretty comfortably under the bump and I have a pair of jeans that I live in when not at work as they are so much more comfy now than before I was PG when they were big and I had to use a belt.

Seeing MW again on Monday and Whooping cough jab on Tuesday and Diabetes clinic on Thursday - and DD2 home with me on Wednesday and Friday; hoping for some quiet time amongst all that so I can finally pack my hospital bag, sort out playroom and bedrooms, put baby clothes in chest of drawers (and watch daytime TV and read a book in the bath without a child wanting to climb in with me!)

WingDefence · 02/03/2013 14:16

Woo hoo Dysgu! (In my mind, that rhymes Grin)

As I've already had my last day 'in the office' so to speak, I'm not expecting anything from my lot this time. Hmm, in fact I can't remember if they did anything for me last time either... Will have to ask DH if he can remember Hmm

Isn't it lovely that spring seems to be here? It was so cold and snowy when DS was born and I'm hing that it'll be dry enough for me to get out and about from a few days after MiniWing is born :)

We've got a mini music festival going on in our village this weekend (really crazy!) and DH is going to all the gigs while I just made it to last night's. I needed an hour's rest before I went out though so I missed the support band but quite frankly I would have been snoozing and it was the main band I really wanted to see. It was very good though - I do miss going out to see live music with DH, which is something we used to do lots of pre-DS.

What are you all up to today? We popped to the shops this morning then went to Pizza Hut for lunch (a real treat - and they are so family-friendly). DH left us to go to Old Trafford and we've come back home so DS can play with some new Lego but I'm going to drag him out round the lanes for an hour's walk even if it kills me!

Right, sorry I haven't name checked everyone btw but I'm going to get DS ready to go out now. But hooya I shall try to get round to doing an inventory of the box as soon as I can and child, yes they do have DCs (9 and 6) and one of the things I'm saddest about is when DS talks about them because there is no reason why they can't continue a relationship but my brother and SIL are even stopping my DPs from seeing them, in the same breath as moaning that because they have moved away, they don't see their GCs any more :(

OP posts:
MrsBri · 02/03/2013 15:24

It rhymes in my mind too, Wing!

I'm so very jealous of your maternity leave, Dysgu! How many weeks along are you now? Does baby look like staying put for now too? :-)

Wing, I think gigs will be something that will be reduced in my life too. Ah well, a baby will be worth it.

I had my haircut today and collected some bathroom bits from Next. I'm now lying on the sofa watching TV until I do the housework. Rock'n'roll in the MrsBri household!

Baby B has spent the day doing his washing machine impression...I feel a bit sick, it has to be said! But it is better than a non-moving baby :-)

Hooya, one of DH's friend's brothers was told there was a 1/35 chance of Downs for their baby, and she was born just fine. That's one of the reasons we didn't bother with the tests.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all well. :-)

ChildOfThe1980s · 02/03/2013 17:11

Congrats on your maternity leave Dysgu :) What lovely people you must work with. How long till due date now?

Tired they said it may be a UTI. I guess I should ask my MW to check when I see her next week. I'm fine now MrsBri and baby has been very active today too - phew.

Sorry to hear about the breakdown in relationship between your kids and theirs, Wing :( That's really sad. We have a similar problem in our family, due to a divorce (we haven't been allowed to see the kids for years.) I hope that something will improve for you guys. x

somethingwittynot · 02/03/2013 19:58

Just popping in to say were home safe and resting had a tough time had to do a stint in intensive care but we made it through. No more babies for me though
