Also thinking of mama. Really hoping no news is ok news.

toobreathless I had a really bad attack of heartburn earlier this year and saw the doctor who put me on some serious acid inhibitors (pre pregnancy). But on advice I also cut out anything acidic and found that orange juice /oranges & tomatoes were really bad for it. Coffee was also an irritant. I found four days on really neutral food sorted it out as it gave things a chance to heal internally. Lots of milk, cheese, plain chicken, bread, plain potatoes etd. Hope you manage to calm it down soon.

MumofWombat · 08/12/2012 05:17

I've been thinking about the double buggy issue as well. I'll have 23 months difference, and was hoping to do the stroller/sling/buggy board route. But DS is known to be a bit of a bolter, so would need reins as unless he gets a lot better in the next few months I just couldn't trust him. I think if I got a double buggy, it wouldn't be too long before I wouldn't need it and it could potentially be a waste of money.

mama very much hoping no news is good news.

angeltattoo · 08/12/2012 12:09

Essex, i had a bleed on Sunday, quite large, and bright red, after sex...won't be doing that again! Then faded to brown for a few days, seems to have cleared up now.

Baby is fine, I hope, midwife found a Hb on doppler, and my cervix was closed. I'm still not feeling much movement and am desperate to feel more movement. Keep an eye, but I'm sure it'll be fine, like you say, as least it's brown. Ring the midwives for advice.

I just wanted to sympathise, I too thought 'why, oh why?!'

KelleStarOfWonder · 08/12/2012 16:45

DD will be 2.4 when the next one arrives. Our buggy is fine for a NB but it's knackered and needs replacing, but not going to make the decision until closer to April. I tried out a P&T E3 at the nearly new shop, it's inline and would be great, but it's a gert lunker and would be a PITA getting it in and out of the boot all the time. I think a double may be an easy option for short term, then I'd get another maclaren techno xt.

Getting lots of weird pops in my tummy, not like the fizzy pre kicks, it sounds like a muffled balloon pop and it's not my pelvis, I might be lazing out on the sofa and it'll just pop, even DH hears it. Anyone else?

fx crossed for mama.

ratbagcatbag · 08/12/2012 19:07

Hi all

Just popping in to say I hope everyone is fab, hoping mama comes back soon with good news.

My bean is now doing full kicks and wriggles and DH can see and feel them now, times marching on but besides an adorable teddy I've bought nothing Grin

Mornin all! Jst checking in and hoping for news from mama. Goin Xmas shoppin today and may get my first baby stuff but feelin a little tired after another 4am insomnia episode! Oh well, hope everyone has a good day x

MumofWombat · 09/12/2012 10:53

I've given up. I'm joining DS in just wearing underwear, well, his is a bright reusable nappy and I'm in a vest top and knickers. If its acceptable for him, it is for me too! It's just too hot. And the house has descended yet again into a near slum as I'm too hot and tired from not sleeping to do more than the bare minimum.
And I think I'm going to have a mummy's girl on my hands! I get kicked all the time but as soon as DH puts his hand on my tum she stops. I don't think he's taking it personally yet...

still checking for news from Mama

I can't remember who mentioned swimming suits (or if I imagined it...) but I was just looking at next website since am planning to try put some Christmas money aside for there sale on boxing day. In the clearance section on the website they have 2 different maternity swimming suits more than half price in a bunch of sizes, one between 8 & 18 and the other between 12 & 22.

I feel like a whale at the moment and all I really want to eat is marmalade on toast and cheese sandwiches, feel bad that I am rejecting dinners so often all the while filling myself up on bread.

Also checking in for any news from Mama. Sending all best wishes and hoping that Mama is just having a little internet break.

We visited DH's family t'up North this weekend and were given some lovely baby goodies, even though we're having a girl we were given football team pjs, DH's family are football crazy.

Think we're finally getting somewhere with the name debate, glad though that we have a good few months to properly decide.

Welcome coco and congratulations!

lutrinae · 09/12/2012 18:07

Anyone else on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at the moment? Feel sad and weepy a lot of the time, and pretty overwhelmed by even the smallest of tasks and setbacks Sad

ratbagcatbag · 09/12/2012 18:12

Hi lutinae, feel exactly the same and then feel so overwhelmed I do nothing. I've found lists broken down help, so not clean the house which is huge, but wash pots, move junk mail etc and aim to get two or three done and that's helped me :) I'm also mega bitch a lot of the time as well, moodyness is here to stay as well.

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 09/12/2012 18:12

Yes lutrinae, crying at all kinds of random crap! It's a tad overwhelming.

Sending my support for mama across via the power of MN. I hope everything is ok!

20+5, only 2 days til the next scan!

lutrinae · 09/12/2012 18:23

Thank God, was getting worried that everything was genuinely hopeless and awful. We moved house recently and with Christmas coming as well as everything else I am not coping very well. Pregnancy is much, much harder than I ever thought it would be.

Small lists is a great idea, ratbag. I have a tendency to itemise EVERYTHING that needs doing/getting.

JaquelineHyOnChristmasSpirit · 09/12/2012 18:33

Afternoon all I've been missing in action for the last week due to the massess and masses of uni work I have had to be doing.

Also been trying to cope with whiplash and SPD at the same time is bloody agonising.

Oh well it's assessment week at uni this week and then I am off for Christmas HURRAH!

mama you have been in my thoughts all week. I hope all is well with you and your little boy.

I have my scan with the area consultant tomorrow and I'm a little nervous about it. I have no idea what risk the cysts on my umbilical cord hold and I'm not sure why but they also said they want to have a really close look at the babies heart function Confused Sad So I have no idea what to expect.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this middle stage of the pregnancy.

SneezySnatcher · 09/12/2012 18:41

lutrinae me too. I cried last week because I was so tired. Today I have a really bad throat infection and I want to cry because I don't want to take painkillers but I'm going to have to. I'm in bed now and hoping I'll be asleep soon.

Ah well, I break up on Friday and then I'll have three weeks off!

SneezySnatcher · 09/12/2012 18:43

Good luck tomorrow jaqueline.

Teapig · 09/12/2012 20:01

Good luck tomorrow jaqueline. Hope you're feeling better, whiplash on top of SDP must be a lot to cope with. Hope the uni work slackens a bit soon.

Sneezy hope you feel better soon too and get a good night's sleep.

I'm counting down until I finish work for Christmas too. Two weeks to go and then I have two weeks off. Roll on the 21st Dec!

ratbagcatbag · 09/12/2012 20:32

I agree on pregnancy being a lot harder lutrinae, I'm organised queen and remember everything, lately I find myself getting unreasonably upset because I've forgotten something. Lists are definately helping me get through the day, even tiny stuff, so post letter etc, I end up with a big list but less stressed because I'm not forgetting anything and it feels very satisfying to see stuff being done no matter how small.

I'm suffering with lower back pain at the moment and its shooting down my right leg, nightmare.

wishfulthinking1 · 09/12/2012 20:50

lutrinae - I'm a complete mess at the moment- glad its not just me! I get so upset about the littlest things.

Had nightmare day- had a lot of watery discharge earlier- looked online (stupid dr google) and was advised to ring midwife. She said I should go to maternity triage, which I did- all is fine. Hung around for hours- had an examination and a scan and all seems fine- dr couldn't see any fluid anywhere, cervix closed and baby has plenty of fluid around it- I was sure it wasn't anything to worry about - but was glad I got it checked out.

Question- dr said during scan 'he's got plenty of fluid here...' Do you think that means we're having a boy? Or was it just something he said?

Hope you're all ok, I'm fine, just knackered!!
23 wks today x

Fluffeh · 09/12/2012 20:52

waves Hi ladies.
Popping in to introduce myself. My EDD IS 28th but I'll be having an ELCS around 38-39 weeks.
It's my first baby and I'm hoping to find out the sex at my scan on Thursday :).
We're on a really tight budget so been buying bargains as and when we see them. We have most big things now except for a cot and sling. Haven't started with clothes yet but I think I know what we need.
Silly heartburn has really kicked in the last week or so making eating a real chore. Even Rennes aren't fixing it - has anyone any suggestions please?

Just checking in after a busy weekend!
Welcome fluffeh!

Good luck tomorrow jaqueline.

Wishful what a bother but good job you got it checked out no doubt it would have bothered you If not! And hmm about the he thing unless you asked I guess you will never be sure as scan person may just refer to all beans as him you will never know!!

Lutrinae I cry at everything! I cry at the thought of something sad it doesn't even have to have happened! Hormones are really wreaking havoc! I'm usually quite a tough bunny too! Dp announced he was going to holland for two days for work on 17th, you'd have thought it was the end of the world it's not confirmed he's def going yet but if I think about it I go into melt down! It's only 2 days for christs sake!

People seem to have a bit of a collection going on! So far I have quinny travel system on order and nearly paid for! TT set ordered from mothercare with the steriliser bottle warmer etc in it was price matched to £60 from £140 so I couldn't resist but haven't paid for that yet! I'm on a promise for a swinging crib but again don't have that in possession but 99% sure I can borrow it! My mum has bought a load of material and is making me sheets, bumper, quilt etc bless her, I bought in the sale 3 sleep suits, 2 body suit vest things 2 packs of 3 bibs, a pair of elmo slippers (not in sale but so adorable if I didn't have a baby to buy them for I'd have bought them for the cat or something!) 2 soothers (don't care on people's opinions of these if I need to use them I will!!) had some vouchers and so picked up the sangenic nappy wrapper for a whole £1.50 that's my biggest bargain Grin need to bug my brother about his cot I did ask few months back he said he would discuss it with his dp but her sister just announced she's pg so I guess she will possibly get it so will prob buy that second hand with a new mattress!

Would like to get a sling of some sort, some bath bits and changing bits and a monitor oh and the all important NAME! but have 4 months yet I keep telling myself!!

Mil popped in mine today to pick up the Xmas tree she asked me to get her she took her Xmas tree didnt even acknowledge i was there! No hello no good bye no eye contact even so hmph to her!
Hope everyone is well! My kicked in the bits feeling is back think I have been over doing it again got my mw appt. booked for 27th so will def mention it as its quite painful, bean still keeping me awake when I get in bed.

Sorry for the long post thought I'd get it all out hehe
