I want a stabby cervix! effing 40+ 2 now and not even the mw made it stabby! Possibly my sweep wasn't the full monty if she couldn't reach very well....

My boots baby club changing bag still hasnt come so going to make do with a waterproof north face back pack for now.

Equimum · 28/11/2012 19:27

Good luck seconds

I have been lusting after a Pacapod bag, but even second hand they're pretty pricey. Have now decided to start with DH canvas satchel bag, a large wags bag we already have and a change mat we were given at NCT. It has a zippy pocket the front for keys, purse etc, and I can always add another wash bag for dirty//wet clothes etc. I'm going to see how that goes and what would be useful before deciding whether to buy a 'proper' change bag, and if so, which features I 'need'.

LittleMissFlustered · 28/11/2012 19:27

Evening ladies! I am the ghost of December groups past! From the 2012 crew I wish you all well:o

I hope everyone has their bags packed and meals batch cooked Grin

FriendofDorothy · 28/11/2012 19:37

I have this changing bag but in red.

cherrypiew3 · 28/11/2012 19:49

Good luck Seconds

Clarella How are you feeling after the sweep.

Mama Hope you ok and not to fed up in the hospital.

Those of you worrying about baby not been engaged yet I asked the mw this last week and she said it's only first babies that engage any dc after this do not have to engage until day of labour.

Well back from hospital after a long day baby is moving ok but sent for another growth scan now measuring smaller than last week. DD on the 10th centile know idea what that means they said they did not want to induce me unless her movements slow down again. They did however do a sweep and it was not to bad cervix is soft and 2cm dilated.

Terrywoganstrousers · 28/11/2012 19:49

Ooh, changing bag is about the only thing I don't have yet!
I had a shite old rucksack with DD so I'm a bit keen to have one with all the bells and whistles this time. I might ask DP to buy one for Christmas (he won't let it be my Christmas present of course but then it sounds less demanding sneaky? me?Wink)
I have seen a nice canvas shoulder bag in Fatface which I like but don't think it's very suitable for a changing bag. I might have to have both

Terrywoganstrousers · 28/11/2012 19:50

Sounds as though baby is ok Cherrypie, Smile

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/11/2012 20:06

I honestly can't decide what I want. Do I go nice plain messenger bag or shiny girly whistles and bells bag instead? Decide for me.

That sounds positive Cherry and hopefully you won't have long to go

Bellaboo123 · 28/11/2012 20:06

Routing for you seconds good luck!

Baby brain can't remember all in hospital/monitoring but hope everything is ok.

I'm getting stabbing Fango pain too and LO is apparently lying on my sciatic nerve meaning I now walk like I've shat myself...great look!

spotty hope ur feeling better, good idea to stay in another night.

I want baby out very Envy!!! Stomps feet!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/11/2012 20:26

Well you don't want bag envy WillYou Wink

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/11/2012 20:40

Don't spotty, I'm already struggling enough Grin! We've had second hand everything so are up for buying a nice fancy new bag but I cannot decide! Also I think I may be a bit tight and will not be buying one of the £200 ers no matter how many stars mumsnet gives them!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/11/2012 20:42

Grin I could never spend that on a bag!! You could always wait for the January sales in John Lewis!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/11/2012 20:48

I got an Oi Oi change bag from a nct nearly new sale for £5! The sales are def worth a look.

I'm being slightly naughty, I needed some chocolate, so I raided the cupboard and I've found 90% chocolate, so I'm sucking 2 squares of that. Hopefully it won't send my sugars too high.

Good luck to all who are being monitored etc.

I bought this bag, 5 years ago, it is still in daily use!
Was the best investment ever,
The space inside is deceptive but we used it as hand luggage on a plane, when we day trip into Amsterdam, and as DS booster seat at the dining room table hence the daily use!
Have recommended it to several friends who have also bought and loved it!

Clarella · 28/11/2012 20:56

Sweet fa except bh as usual going on here. I want to return my sweep. Although boo.bs huge and leaking ( but might be cos I'm better now and fully rehydrated) gonna keep squeezing them cos gotta help huh?

Climbing all the stairs in the Baltic after getting metro into town n walking down to quayside tomorrow to get baby going ... they sell these there, I have a shoulder bag but been eyeing up the messenger bags for ages...... eco, durable, wipeable, unique and cool!! No idea if practical though..... am skint though.

Clarella · 28/11/2012 20:59

I might suggest they make a changing bag actually with a little changing mat!

cashmere · 28/11/2012 21:10

Midwife today 3/5ths engaged but 2nd baby (def 3/5ths down not 3/5ths free- I checked)....is this good?
No sweep for me till I'm 41+2 as is 2nd baby too.

No stretch marks with DS- just appearing under bump Sad- come on baby get out!

brooke89 · 28/11/2012 21:21

Good luck seconds Smile

I got this changing bag - lotus flower www.themiraclebox.co.uk/baby-changing-bag.asp
It was on a bounty offer half price for 30 quid and came pre packed with hospital essentials, bargain!

Just been to the theatre to watch Chicago but had to leave at the interval, too tired and think I was having BH Hmm

CODwidow · 28/11/2012 21:23

Oo changing bags I have an il tutto that dh bought me for my birthday back in June. I totally love it but was a little luxury as pricey.
Well managed to get my shopping done so baby is more than welcome to make an appearance now Grin although mw called today to say as guidelines have changed I cannot go to the birth centre and have to have antibiotics during labour on delivery. So as soon as my tightenings are 10 mins apart again I have to go as ideally I have to have them 4 hrs before delivery.

MaMaPo · 28/11/2012 21:30

Hello all,

Well, I'm still in hospital, here overnight. They take small amounts of blood at almost 38 weeks very seriously! could be tiny abruption of placenta. Been on the trace today (no probs) but BP is elevated so they;re keeping a close eye on that. If BP still high and various other things haven't resolved, we'll check the cervix tomorrow and consider induction. I am under a consultant privately and so very happy with the level of care and how involved my husband and I are. So much for finishing up at work! but these things happen.

Hope everyone has a restful night - me included!

emilyeggs · 28/11/2012 21:33

clarella I think you need to go in store and get boots change bag when you purchase pampers nappy, take the little voucher with you. Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/11/2012 21:40

COD I must have missed something, why do you need antibiotics in labour? You sound much more level headed than when I was told that I wasn't allowed to the birth centre.

Well my boobs are slightly sore but I have managed 9ml in total in the last 2 days. My boobs are obviously cooperating! Well I have to be able to do something well, I've been crap the rest of this pregnancy!

I would like my baby now please!
