Emily I'm due at the same time as you and I'm not engaged either. Don't lose heart just yet.

Hormonalhell · 28/11/2012 17:25

seconds I too have two bags packed as I'm always in longer than one day Smile

Hormonalhell · 28/11/2012 17:28

Stabbing fanjo!! Yes get that all the time too. Reminds me of when I'm having a smear, that scraping feeling

Secondsop · 28/11/2012 17:31

hormonalhell I've also needed to pack food as I'm a gestational diabetic and I've been warned that the hospital offerings are very poor on that front. Was quite jealous at the things my husband was putting in the trolley today for his snacks :(

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/11/2012 17:36

I have packed a normal bag and the changing bag as an 'extra' bag in case we have to be kept in (more nappies baby clothes and Muslins). I'm hoping with the expressed milk ready and baby being over 37 weeks we shouldn't be in for too long.

DH is out for dinner with mil, FIL, bil and SIL tonight for mil's birthday! I'm home being grumpy! (haven't got a babysitter even if I could managed a meal out). So I'm making myself muscles in garlic and white wine sauce. Got no bread though, might do some pasta. Gunna do some cabbage with bacon and onion too. Mmmmm.

always playing catch-up, i wonder how many threads we'll have been through by the time we've all popped, seems almost one a week at the mo!

clarella glad to hear today's picked up and things are looking brighter, but also great to hear a sweep isn't such a daunting process as i'd begun to imagine.

emily yy to pains in the fanjo especially when out walking (strangely only on the flat rather than on hills), my MW told me from around week 30 to expect 'pains like being poked in the cervix with a knitting needle' which i thought sounded quite alarming but pretty accurate once the pains appeared. She couldn't however explain what the pains were Hmm

nutella re your Q ages ago now - I'm 39wks today and feel much better in many ways than i did back at 36wks or so. I'm more into the idea now though than previously of giving in to being looked after and allowed to not lift a finger. personally i'd plan to go to the ILs for xmas if i were you but as others said i'd be frank about what could be expected from you - i.e early exit, afternoon napping (though it may be by 39 weeks you're really keen to get out for a long but slow hike in the hope of getting things moving)

EggsMichelle · 28/11/2012 18:00

I agree with Pru, I'm 39wks tomo and went to IL's last weekend and been with my parents this week, and sitting with my feet up whilst everyone brings me food/drink is lovely (especially with my swollen legs). They even allow me my hormonal strops!

There has been a lot of activity today, good luck to everyone having checks or in hospital now. Spotty make the most of the rest whilst you can.

Seconds are you still booked in for tomorrow?

Iv had minimal signs of any imminent activity, just pain in bump like cramp if I walk too much, think ill be a well over due one!!!

Terrywoganstrousers · 28/11/2012 18:01

Emily- I'm 35+2 and have the same stabbing pains- midwife told me it was the baby's head pressing on a nerve.

I feel your pain- I'm so uncomfortable, massive like a beached whale, broken bloody rib and fed up, I just want to evict this baby now and get on with things. I am so bored as well, I cleaned the bathroom this afternoon, DP came home and caught me scrubbing the floors and gave me a telling off and threatened to tell on me to the midwife Blush

I'm also slowly realising that as DP has invited his parents, his brother and a couple of mutual friends (who we went to last year) for Christmas, we're going to have eight people on Christmas day, and am becoming increasingly panicked about the whole thing, so DP may find himself cooking rather more than he imagined (he will though, he more than pulls his weight, but the problem will be me letting go of the control I think GrinBlushas I am the one who always does the roasts in our house and the bulk of the cooking really).

I think I will have to make a very detailed list with control-freaky timings on it, and then I can recline and be fed Haribo while barking orders directing from the sofa. I might resort to spoonyfuckery every so often too, let him know how it feels Grin

EggsMichelle · 28/11/2012 18:02

And my DH has been short listed for a job, very anxious and won't find out until Friday if he has it, grrr!

emilyeggs · 28/11/2012 18:03

Thanks ladies, (puts one foot off the sobbing sofa) all your posts are helpful Smile

pmgkt · 28/11/2012 18:10

What are stitch type pains all about? I get them when when doing nothing

Clarella · 28/11/2012 18:23

Hormonal - piles, grab anusol cream and pessaries from shop floor (they are the basic non hc stuff) no need to ask a pharmacist they are anal about going near any pregnant lady! You could be prescribed the hc version ( steroids) but prob best not to. Would be cheaper to be prescribed some but they'll prob just tell you to get it. (From one who's been there!) Using both cream and pessaries together works best but need to keep it up for a few days and then maybe keep going at night to keep on top of it.

emilyeggs · 28/11/2012 18:24

pmgkt I get them down one side of my bump. Mine are the side where mini eggs back is pushing against Hmm

Secondsop · 28/11/2012 18:38

I'm going in tonight! Wish me luck.

EggsMichelle · 28/11/2012 18:45

Fingers crossed for your dh eggs

emily I get those type of pains frequently too, I tend to do a little scream/ow noise which has been panicking people at work.

Terrywoganstrousers · 28/11/2012 18:57

2blessed- me too (the little screams!)Blush
People really panic in shops. DP has just taken to ignoring mine, no doubt he'll not believe me when I actually go into labour Grin
