Thought we should have a shiny new thread.

Really struggling with waiting, 39+2 today and so weepy I'm even annoying myself. Just hope this little one will get moving in the next few days. All the other couples I know I know who've had babies recently have gone early. it's not fair

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/11/2012 13:16

Aw gils this last few weeks is awful tbh! If you're not a fellow diabetic, eat biscuits, that'll make it better

MaMaPo · 28/11/2012 13:33

Hmm, nothing doing here but they're going to keep me in overnight for obs. That puts paid to the idea that I have my last day of work (and my leaving do) tomorrow!

I have no idea what's going on - I think it's a precaution around the bleeding, not necessarily because labour has started. Maybe ill have a nap...

SpottyTeacakes · 28/11/2012 13:39

Ah at least they're keeping an eye on you mamapo

I've just been out of hospital to take dd to get her casts changed then we went to KFC (where she dipped her chips in her yoghurt classy Wink) but now I'm ready to cry, can hardly walk as in so much pain and shivering so dp and I think it best I stay in another night especially as if I go home I'll probably start sorting bits around the house etc

kate2boysandabump · 28/11/2012 13:41

I've been sent to the hospital by the midwife because of high blood pressure and swelling Sad waiting in a very long queue for a blood test. It's very hot and boring...

Good luck to everyone else who is going in or waiting for news today.

kate2boysandabump · 28/11/2012 13:43

spotty I think you should stay in too.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/11/2012 14:01

Oh kate that's rubbish Sad how many weeks are you now?

Clarella · 28/11/2012 14:31

Oh no to the bleach disaster stacey, the down side of nesting :(

Hope everything is ok cherry and mamapo - I liked your check' phrase. Hope all is well over night. And good luck if it's thestart!

Goodness Kate you too - hope all is well and your boys are ok too.

I know how desperate you are to get out spotty but I think stay in one more night too. And yes you probably will go home and do loads of things you shouldn't!

I'm a very content bunny - last radiator on, proper roofer has found and fixed roof issue (fx) (blooming flashing again which bodge it and scarper re did for the third time last week), unpacked all baby's things into a chest of drawers Dh put together last night and had my sweep!!! It was such a non event (had worse smears) but cervix is still posterior despite baby being so low (my anatomy was very confused, didn't realise it's now behind baby's head) but she said even what she managed to do might have a bit of an effect - who knows.

Strict instructions to get my cervix migrating: lots of exercise (swim, walk what ever) drink gallons of raspberry leaf tea (didn't distinguish betwixt tabs or tea, just knock it back hinny) and lots of sex. And literally glug my lactulose (cos I'm a bit bunged up after the sicky bug). Induction booked for the 10th Dec - soooo funnily enough slight potential to get the 12/12/12 birth date!!

So basically, following swim q yesterday, keep going till you really think something is happening - yeay!

MyDaydream · 28/11/2012 14:50

stacey I did the same thing to our bath mats the other week after some vigorous toilet cleaning. We now have black and pink striped mats! Was it fixable or are you going to have to attack the other too and pretend you were being crafty?
clarella fingers crossed the sweep did something and gets baby moving soon.
Hope everyone who's in hospital at the minute is okay and not getting too bored.
My Moby came today and I'm so confused. Think this weekend is devoted to figuring it out, although it needs washing first. The lady I bought it from smells lovely, but I really want it to smell of me the first time baby goes in it. I borrowed a scarf of my mum last night to go home in and I keep giving it a bit of a sniff because its so familiar and lovely!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/11/2012 15:03

The chair is not fixable. :( although I do have spare covers for them but in cream. But it involves unscrewing all the chairs. The black ones were my new ones, so I only did it a few weeks ago. Humpf!

Well I just had a lovely hour and a half nap. LO is much less wiggly atm but I think that just natural. We've got hiccups right this second so I'm sure all is fine! Lol.

OP posts:
MyDaydream · 28/11/2012 15:16

If they're black some Dylon might fix it.

Cookiesandcoffee · 28/11/2012 15:25

Good luck to everyone at the hospital, I hope it's the start of meeting your LOs.
spotty I know what I would be like if I went home- maybe do stay in and rest?
Following MW today she wanted to send me up to DAU to see consultant as I'm just so huge. I know fundal height doesn't mean that much but 43cm! At 38 weeks. My chart looks RIDICULOUS. As it turns out it's so busy up there so going in first thing tomorrow.
Hope your sweep did something clarella, hopefully you won't need your induction date! MW mentioned an early sweep but shall see what they say at the hospital I guess, think it has to be done by a doc if before 40wks.

So we all struggle on another day.. Come on babies start popping out!!

MaMaPo · 28/11/2012 15:50

Ok, bored now. I'm fine, bean is fine, I'd quite like to just go home! Doesn't help that I can pretty much see my place from the window, but have to hold tight.

Equimum · 28/11/2012 16:30

Sending my best wishes to all of you stuck in hospital. spotty, staying in another night sounds like a sensible decision.

Stacey bleach disaster sounds like exactly the type of thing I'd do! Although I'm actually quite looking forwards to starting nesting properly when I start mat leave next week.

Feeling quite stressed today. The house we are the process of buying may well fall through. Was really hoping to move from tiny one bed flat to much roomier house just after baby arrives, but now looks like we might get stuck here Sad! Just hoping baby doesn't pick up on stress and decide to spin round or anything!

emilyeggs · 28/11/2012 16:37

So tired today, my day off and I've not stopped. Walked back from shop with bags of shopping and each step caused a shooting pain up my fanjo!! MW appointment an hour late, didn't get any clear answers to my questions. when I was asked how I was, I told them (there was two MW's, one trainee) I'm uncomfortable, had some terrible pain in the night a few times and out of breath....she put I was fine but a bit tired!!!! Also I was told (well, not me but one mw to the other) that baby is not engaged. Feel really fed up and deflated. I've realised I could be looking at another six weeks Sad sorry it's a me me me post

spotty glad you got out a bit
mama & clarella is it? Good luck, I'm Envy

I'm off to sobbing sofa.....what a surprise! Can't even get comfy on sobbing sofa due to massive baby kicking my lungs...sulk

Clarella · 28/11/2012 16:54

That's great mama - hope you're out soon.

Emily don't be disheartened - firstly shooting pains in fango could be cervix stuff going on (isn't that how pidj started?), secondly a girl I met at aquanatal was never engaged till labour or possibly the day or two before and she was only a few days over due. I'm massively engaged but I think my posterior cervix could be more of a problem as that's the bit that needs to open up! As for her bedside manner - yes that's rubbish and not on esp after an hour. Tbh your baby could be more on the way than mine! How many weeks now?

Cervix I command thee to migrate!

Clarella · 28/11/2012 16:56

So sorry about your house equimum Thanks Brew sugar free Biscuit

pmgkt · 28/11/2012 17:04

Emily is this your first. It's very common for second + ones not to engage til labour and so I'm sure its the case for first time ones too. Plus they can go from not engaged to engaged quickly, it does have to take weeks.

emilyeggs · 28/11/2012 17:09

35+5 so think it will be a while yet, just was hoping to hear more positive news like "oo baby could be round the corner" but I guess they really can't say. Jealous of those who have met their babies already or have induction dates. I have a growth scan at 36+6 then not seeing the consultant to discuss scan till a week later! I'll be nearly 38 weeks by then, hardly seems worth it!

itsMYNutella · 28/11/2012 17:16

I'm due at (almost) the same time as you emily and mine isn't at all engaged either. I'm hoping to pop a few days after New Year though... give baby a birthday away from Christmas... on the other hand I suppose it might be more festive just before New Years Hmm mind you, there is a full moon on the 28th Dec so it might be worth keeping that date in your diary :)

totally agree with stabbing fanjo pains some days tho! Weird how it changes... silly bean, what are you doing in there??

itsMYNutella · 28/11/2012 17:17
Thanks
Secondsop · 28/11/2012 17:18

equimum oh how stressful about the house. Really hope it doesnt fall through and that it all works out. If it's any consolation the 2 times I've had houses fall through I've ended up in places that turned out to be better than the original houses so try to place hope in everything eventually turning out for the best, although I know that is easier said than done and it must be really hard if you're not where you want to be when the baby comes.

emily I've got friends whose first babies never engaged until labour itself so it's not always a sign that you've got weeks and weeks to go if yours hasn't engaged. At my last midwife appointment (on Monday) the head was partly engaged but not fully, and the run up to getting there was definitely sharper pains and pressure on my pelvis (that I'm feeling with a vengeance now especially after walking round sainsburys to get some hospital snacks!).

I'm having a rest before finishing the bags. Getting everything into 1 bag hasn't worked as I'm working on the basis that what with the GD and high blood pressure, I need to be ready for a stay in hospital of at least a couple of days. So now it's one bag for my stuff and one small bag for the baby's stuff.

MyDaydream · 28/11/2012 17:19

Equimum sorry to hear about the house.
emily hope your feeling Sad, hope you have a better day tomorrow and your little one doesn't hang about another six.

Just got back from the supermarket to get ingredients for dinner, still ended up running to the local shops to pick up the bits I forgot. Hating baby brain. Hating the return of heartburn even more.

MyDaydream · 28/11/2012 17:21

emily I obviously didn't mean to say hope your feeling Sad, I meant to say sorry to hear your feeling Sad!

Hormonalhell · 28/11/2012 17:23

emily I seriously could have wrote your post, it sounds just like me! I too can't get comfy, can't breathe properly or eat without feeling sick and I'm two week behind you Envy
