Mummycox · 26/11/2012 18:26

Thank you

PurplePidjin · 26/11/2012 18:36

Congratulations Spotty, welcome to the world Felix Thanks

Welcome new people :)

Stacks · 26/11/2012 18:48

Congratulations spotty so glad he's doing well. Hope you get done cuddles soon.

I'm just on my way out to see a show. Something about Dolly Parton. Wonder if LO will decide to put in an appearance. Could be amusing... Still no signs though, not even BH. He is however kicking quite hard just now.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/11/2012 19:11

Well that was my last zumba :( it was just a bit too much now. My belly was rock hard the whole way through and I had to sit out of more tracks than I've ever done before (about double the amount from last week) I was sad saying goodbye to everyone but they have a break over Xmas and I should be back when baby is 6weeks so I won't miss many in January. Let's see if the wiggling did the trick Grin.

I hope everyone else is doing ok this evening. I wonder if cod got to see the whole of the school play?

olliebob · 26/11/2012 20:26

oh congrats spotty hope you & Felix are both ok x

itsMYNutella · 26/11/2012 20:58

Evening all

Great to hear that little Felix is doing so well spotty! Hope you get to enjoy lots of lovely snuggles :)

And to all those feeling hormonal, thank you! I've had a rough day mostly involving: sulking, grumpiness and floods of tears... Oh "the joys of pregnancy" :o Why does this seem to happen so suddenly & in such an extreme way? Poor DP, he really didn't know what to do with me today, I felt extra rubbish because he had the day off and I was really useless :( hopefully tomorrow will be better.

ellliebelle · 26/11/2012 21:06

Just having a self indulgent moan i want pizza and biscuits and cause of stupid gdiant and i want to cry (i know this is a little over the top but its how i feel :( )

pmgkt · 26/11/2012 21:10

Congrats spotty.

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 21:13

Aww ellie I really don't know how you guys with GD cope . Moan away

DyeInTheEar · 26/11/2012 21:19

Stacey am so impressed as I wouldn't be tempted to do Zumba even not pregnant!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/11/2012 21:24

That's great news spotty hope they let you have a nice cuddle

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/11/2012 21:28

Can you not have pizza Ellie? Have you tried? I've found im fine with it as the fat in the cheese balances out the bread. I have thin base and eat half a 9 inch. Biscuits are definitely out though and I had some egg noodles in a stir fry and was shocked with a 7.3, that'll teach me for trying to be healthy!

AlisonDB · 26/11/2012 21:34

Evening all sorry to lower the tone but, im going to have to.....
TMI alert!!!!

Post birth pooh......
Sorry ladies but I am already getting quite constipated and was in agony tonight trying to go, managed it eventually, but it hurt like hell!!!
But I am now absolutely dreading the post birth pooh!
Especially if there is even the slightest tear!

I can't for the life of me remember what I did last time but for those who have just had babies, did you take anything to stop it being so hard and painful? I have a bag of dried fruit in my hospital bag but in reality can't se myself eating it!

Secondsop · 26/11/2012 21:58

ellie I know, it's rubbish isn't it?!! All I want is to settle down with a lovely cup of tea and a biscuit or a piece of cake. Or a big bowl of pasta or gnocchi! It's rubbish and there's no 2 ways about it. Keep focussing on the fact that it's not for much longer...

Are you on medication / insulin? If not, and you're really struggling, why not speak to the diabetic team about it. I was finding it hard to eat enough when I was diet-controlled and kept losing weight, so was put on metformin which did help me eat more. Eg i can eat a 9-inch pizza for dinner (although am trying not to make a habit of it, and usually leave the crusts) - as willyou says, the fat on it helps slow down the carb release.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/11/2012 22:08

I can eat pasta too seconds but i do have small portions. I must just be mildly insulin-resistant I think. The diabetic nurse said I was very sensitive to refined sugar but most things I'm okay with. I'd kill for a cake though, or a massive bag of maltesers and an orange juice!

How many days for you now?

Stacks · 26/11/2012 22:39

Is anyone having any problems with feeling dizzy? I keep getting it while sitting still, same sensation as if I'd suddenly and quickly moved my head to look at ceiling, except not actually moving at all. Passes very quick, but quite unsettling.

Not sure if its something worth calling the midwife about. I've never called them before, and feel strangely nervous about bothering them.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/11/2012 22:46

Stacks is it a spinny feeling? I had vertigo early on (20w) it's linked to changing blood volume. Mine was quite bad so the doctor prescribed some pills (also used for morning sickness, so unexpected bonus if stopping that). It might be worth mentioning if its happening a lot

CODwidow · 26/11/2012 22:52

I did get to see all of the play although had a really uncomfy crampy day and going to bed now wondering if this is it or if perhaps I just have a bit of a tummy bug as has 2 loose toilets today and feel like af is about to show! So could be either I guess, the joys of pregnancy Grin

cashmere · 26/11/2012 22:52

Congrars Spotty! hope you're getting some rest but am sure you'll be high on adrenaline!

Alison I took in dates and drank loads of water/appetiser. Wasn't as bad as I expected. I think fluids prob v important as hospitals are baking.

ellliebelle · 26/11/2012 23:39

Will you, seconds i will definately give some pizza a go i havent dared since diagnosis i guess if it does give me a high reading its only 1 would you mind me asking you both what your readings are generally? Mine are usually towards the upper limit but not over which im hoping will mean i dont need medication at diabetic clinic on thurs so i guess ill find out then im not on meds at the min and would like to avoid as dont think ill still be allowed my home birth if im put on meds
