Welcome hormonal

Hope you get to see him soon spotty Envy pâté ahhhh!

giraffe213 · 26/11/2012 15:51

Congratulations Spotty, hope you get to cuddle Felix soon.

Thanks everyone for the biscuit discussion, I had to run out for a chunky kit-kat and maybe some other junk food halfway through catching up on what I missed from yesterday! Feeling a bit rough today, every time I start to feel better this stupid cold comes back. As much as I really want this baby out, I'd like to be feeling well before that happens Sad. Still got another week and a bit until due date anyway.

utopian99 · 26/11/2012 16:08

welcome hormonal, your name could be my status right now!

day started with bus being so late i missed my hair appointment and had to reschedule, followed by epic fail to find nursing bra, having to deal yet again with my hideous ex employer (going on for months now), and generally dropping things and feeling sick and huge.

all in all not grand scheme of things problems - since writing the bit above have had my latest accupuncture session so now a lot more relaxed! sorry for the self indulgent rant.. Blush

AlisonDB · 26/11/2012 16:08

Massive Congratulations Spotty, Welcome to the world little Felix,

Hope you are able to cuddle him soon!!!
XxX

utopian99 · 26/11/2012 16:10

oh and spotty I hope Felix is okay? At least he'll be well looked after while you recover.. (sending hugs)

HoneyMum21 · 26/11/2012 16:15

Welcome hormonal. I gave birth 4 and a half weeks ago at 33+3 and LO is doing well. I'd had steroids the week before he arrived. Obviously it's not ideal but 33 weeks is ok :)

SpottyTeacakes · 26/11/2012 16:18

Well in the past couple of hours he's gone from 100% oxygen to air only and his sugar levels are rising so we can go see him now Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/11/2012 16:24

Oh yay spotty I'm glad they're letting you see him now. He's in the best place for him ATM. Enjoy your cuddles (of you're allowed)

HoneyMum21 · 26/11/2012 16:31

Yay spotty. He's doing fantastically well to get off the oxygen so quickly Grin enjoy your first proper moments with him. Can DD see him yet?

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 16:43

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 16:55

Oops! Sorry, welcome hormonal let's hope LO stays put for a little bit longer

WeeJo08 · 26/11/2012 17:01

That's great news, Spotty! So chuffed for you all :) Though I am Envy about you meeting your baby....and let's not mention pâté again, shall we?!

soapnuts · 26/11/2012 17:02

2blessed - we had a naming ceremony for DS1 and we'll be doing the same for this one too. DH is from a very traditional catholic family and I'm a pretty staunch atheist so would never agree to a traditional christening. We got a family member who's a vicar to come and do a "non-godly" ceremony basically just welcoming the baby into the world and into the family. It wouldn't have to be a religious person of course (I just happen to have one who is very good at not mentioning God!) but it did keep the Catholic side very happy that they had had their blessing even though it wasn't traditional - then we had a party afterwards. Was really lovely and we'll do the same with this one - probably in the same, very beautiful place.

We actually did similar with our wedding - Humanist for the legal part (in Scotland where it's legal) and then a "blessing" incorporating a lot of Catholic elements but without a mention of God .... was surprisingly easy and really successful!

I was actually surprised how easy it was to incorporate the elements that were important to us (individually and together) and leave out the bits that either of us were uncomfortable with.

DyeInTheEar · 26/11/2012 17:10

Bella I'm either grumpy or on verge of tears. Hormonal mayhem. DH avoiding eye contact mostly now.

Really should get off MN and feed my DCs ...Thank you for all your welcomes. Good luck to everyone feeling like they are nearing labour....

brooke89 · 26/11/2012 17:22

Mid way through eating my tea and had to dash to the bathroom to be sick... This better be the start of something because I was really enjoying that stir fry! Hmm

WeeJo08 · 26/11/2012 17:27

Still cramps and sore :( Went out for lunch as a treat & then walked up a big hill into town to go to Sainsburys...hoping that will get the baby thinking about exit strategies....! Well, actually, the strategy isn't going to change much but more the timing of the strategy! i.e. How about now?!

WeeJo08 · 26/11/2012 17:28

Oh brooke that's rotten :( Fingers crossed it's a one-off or the start of labour!

Secondsop · 26/11/2012 17:33

Congratulations Spotty!! As a fellow GD-er my heart is in my mouth reading your updates but I'm so happy to read that Felix is doing well.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/11/2012 17:44

brooke I've had that a few times. DH googled it and apparantly if you have morning sickness you are more likely to have sickness near the end too. I hope you feel better soon.

Welcome to our newbie (dear god I wish I had 2 brain cells to rub together I can't remember your name for the life of me).

Waiting for Zumba to start, let's wiggle this baby out.

OP posts:
Bellaboo123 · 26/11/2012 17:48

stacey wow at still doing Zumba!

brooke89 · 26/11/2012 17:55

Yeah no twinges or anything so not getting my hopes up Angry good luck at wiggling the baby out - if it works I'm signing up to Zumba!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/11/2012 17:56

Dd has a cough so can't visit. Funny things to happen in labour: I wet myself when being sick and dp told me I didn't poo. That's what he thinks Wink

Mummycox · 26/11/2012 17:58

Does any one know.... I've got lower bump pain and pressure on my colon, what does that mean?

SpottyTeacakes · 26/11/2012 18:01

You need a poo and/or babies head is pressing down on it possibly back to back?
