OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Clarella · 26/11/2012 07:18

Sorry to hear about your dh ollie. That first step is the hardest.

Thats a shame spotty but hopefully your body decided to give you a break before it really gets going.

Glad your dh spoke to mil honey, i agree its v odd behaviour, though another pregnant friends mil was insisting on coming for a month so youre in some company - not sure how that one has been sorted out!

Well due date today :) feel more like im back at 30 wks inside! No twinges, discharge, bh, even lower back ache!!! Its all stopped! Still im still mega dehydrated - some fluids and chicken soup stayed put last night so hitting the toast this morn. No curry, pineapple, sex, funky chicken dancing here!

And roof leaked again :( im going to stick sheets over the big glass doors so i dont have to see the builders ugly faces if i do start anything - probably why im not in labour!

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 07:23

Oh dated just found your post! So happy for you Grin congratulations and wishing you a speedy recovery Grin

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 07:25

Waves to dye

MaMaPo · 26/11/2012 07:33

Morning all. Ugh, first properly insomniac night. I'd been exhausted and a bit grumpy yesterday after broken sleep on Saturday night, then slept for just over an hour yesterday afternoon - they lay awake until well after 1am. Ended up sleeping on the couch trying to fool my brain into sleeping. Not sure it worked brilliantly but at least I got some sleep.

I'm keen for baby to start making moves, but not while I'm feeling this crap! Bring on my final 3 days at work!

Oh, exciting things happening for a few of us - great news! Almost all of the other women from my NCT group have had their babies now so my email account is full of photos of lovely little cherubs. A bit envious!

honey, your mother-in-law is really trying it on, isn't she? It sound like thinking of others first is not an automatic concept for her. You two should stick to your guns! Good luck!

EggsMichelle · 26/11/2012 08:01

Welcome Dye, nice to have some new faces as we all reach the home stretch! Would it be a good idea for the stats list to be updated with delivery details (date, weight, team colour?) as I keep forgetting weights and would be interesting how team yellow turn out.

Ollie I went through similar with my DH a few years ago before we were married, I understand how you are feeling.

I'm having a mini holiday at my Grandma's house, she is away but lives close to my parents and where DH is working, so iv escaped here his dog. Sad to leave the cats, especially as one keeps trying to move into the neighbours house (breaking my heart)

Equimum · 26/11/2012 08:03

CONGRATULATIONS Dated. Hope you both get to go home soon.

Honey, glad your DH stood up to MIL. She sounds exactly like DHs mother! She initially invited herself and FIL to stay in our tiny one bed flat over Xmas when EDD is 14/12 and we're planning a home-birth. Her logic? Well, apparently we'll need people on hand and babies don't take up much room. Fortunately, she was dissuaded but booked a travel lodge back in September as she didn't want to pay full price!!! It's the only thing making me think a late baby wouldn't be too bad -serve her right if she'd gone home before it arrives

Spotty hoping you either have your little one in your arms this morning or got some sleep last night (or even both Grin).

Off to midwife this morning for 36 wk appointment. Hoping to be (finally) booked in for home-birth - fingers crossed!

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 08:05

What dose FX mean? Confused

AlisonDB · 26/11/2012 08:06

Spotty hopefully now you have had done rest your body is recharged enough to get you going again!!

Hope everyone else had a better night too, well better than mine anyway.....

DS woke with yet another bad dream, ending up sleeping in our bed.

Then I kept having the same dream but with different people in it, if that makes sense?
I was really violent, aggressive and argumentative, hitting and shouting at people. (I was like something from Jeremy Kyle show, So unlike me)

The worst was I had this huge argument with my mum cos she had been saying things to people about me & the baby, (which in reality I know would never ever happen)
Anyway I literally beat her up and told her I hated her and no longer wanted anything to do with her!!!! (I know this cos, part of me remembers but also DH told me I was actually shouting and kicking in my sleep!!!)

WTF is that all about????
I woke up sobbing, and am now in the most deflated/flat/weird/sad mood I said to DH I almost feel like I should phone my mum to say I'm sorry for having such a horrid dream about her!
To which she wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about and I'd end up sobbing again...

I can pretty much deal with with most of what pregnancy throws at me, but I DO not cope well with the weird/bad/scary/ dream part!!

Clarella · 26/11/2012 08:12

Hi and belated welcome Dye!

Hooray i just had toast with apricot jam x4 and black tea - let the carb loading commence can you still buy spiras????

Clarella · 26/11/2012 08:22

Fingers crossed fx? I think

Hope you get your hb equimum!

Goodness alison - dreams can be really disturbing im not surprised you feel horrid - i wonder if its a subconscious preparation for the labour of labour...?

honey you may have said but have you offered to pay for said travel lodge though really to expect new parents to fork out for that because shes having a hissy fit is beyond belief

JoJoB77 · 26/11/2012 08:27

Morning

Congratulations Dated!

Hope things start again today spotty and you have your baby soon Smile

I won a caboo on ebay yay Grin

Quick question ladies. I have the moses basket we used for DD and i was thinking of reusing the mattress. Do you think that would be ok or should i get a new one? She used it only for 5 weeks and that was only 18 months ago???

annelid · 26/11/2012 08:32

Congratulations dated

Hi to all the newbies....

I also have my 36 week appointment today. Am really hoping baby has turned from bring transverse, but to be honest I'm not holding out much hope Sad. My appointment isn't til 12 either.

Terrywoganstrousers · 26/11/2012 08:33

Ugh, I can totally relate to the weird dreams!
I had a dream the other night that my eldest DD was dead!Sad

Clarella · 26/11/2012 08:46

Jojo weve been lent a moses basket (though im using a bedside cot we were given with a new matress) 'just in case' but also for down stairs. I bought a new matress from argos but the one they have is water proof - they only used it for 6 weeks and then its been in a vacume packed thingy in the roif for 2 years. Ive washed everything and wiping down that mattress which i reckon might be more practical - still undecided - but then i think of my dad sleeping in a drawer at first and i think are we ott?!

Wondering whether to make cot up with bedding today or wait till im in labour?! This due date thing is very confusing!

CODwidow · 26/11/2012 08:56

Still crampy but nothing else so I'll get to see the play Smile but first a bit of Xmas shopping Grin

brooke89 · 26/11/2012 09:05

Welcome dye

terry that is a horrible dream, I've always had really weird dreams so haven't noticed anything different!

spotty, stacey & COD hope things continue moving for you today!

Happy Due Date clarella SmileThanks

olliebob · 26/11/2012 09:06

thanks for the kind msgs just having to take it as it comes with dh.
Unfortunately you cant get spiras anymore although i keep wishing they bring them back out like they did with the wispas lol.
Right i am going to have to get on with some of the jobs which keep building up cos i just hate staying in, sanding down the hall and making sure i put dd name down for school.
Hope everyone has a nicce day x

AlisonDB · 26/11/2012 09:07

Jo Jo,
I think it depends on how and where it was stored, also what material is it made from,

We have the same one from DS. It's plastic covered, was stored in the wardrobe, so I know there are no mold spores on it, and it's wipe clean and has been scrubbed, DS only used it for a short period of time too, so we figure its still ok to use,

If it had been a foam mattress stored in the attic though we wouldn't be thinking of reusing it,

Clarella · 26/11/2012 09:19

Ah thanks for that Alison will stick with this borrowed wipeable one.

think ill hang on to the one we bought ( quite impressed with it from argos for 7 quid!)..... if its never used im eyeing it up for chair recovering...

Stacks · 26/11/2012 09:20

Alison I've had weird dreams waking me up for the last 3 nights. One about carnivorous cows that wanted to eat me and my nephew, but DN wasn't scared of them and kept walking into the herd while I wasn't looking. I couldn't keep watching him though because I had to keep pushing cows off the concrete ledge we were hiding on... Next night I had dreams about having kittens, one drowned and one burnt itself to death by climbing into a fire while I wasn't watching. Oh, and last night a dream my family all hated me and didn't care I was in pain, including a very realistic DSis who was competing with me and pretending to be in pain too...
All dreams had me waking up really sad and anxious :(

Honey glad your DH put his foot down. Sounds like its needed. Good luck!

2blessed · 26/11/2012 10:01

Morning!

eggs I was wondering about FX too, I think it means fingers crossed...?

spotty you are doing fantastically well, I think I would have been an unreasonable nervous wreck by now. Hoipefully, you're almost there now

Welcome dye

Congratulations dated, hope you're home now getting settled in.

COD Lets hope mini - COD lets you watch the play tonight.

DP dropped me off at work today, so feeling really relaxed as I didn't have to do my usual journey of 1 bus and three trains. We had a 'serious' talk on the way too which was good. We've not been agreeing over potential names. He believes that he should name the child if its a boy and vice versa. I don't really agree with that especially as I've not liked many of the names he likes. I believe that parents should like the name especially since they will be calling the child more than anyone else. AIBU?

Also, I want to christen LO and he is really against it. I was brought up in a religious family and am not a regular attender of church but I have always known that I would like my child to be christened and then for them to make up their own mind which is how I was brought up. I question organised religion and don't agree with anything but I do have a basic faith. Both are things that we can sort out but all very serious talk for 7.30am.

Felt very proud of myself yesterday evening, I put together the changing table. So sick of seeing boxes now. DP pissed me off too, implying that he would have not be able to do it properly and he would have to take over. Angry Made me even more determined to do a good job, which I did. Got a bit emotional after I set it up/filled the shelves.

I'm on the home stretch work wise, only 5 more days to go - yay!

2blessed · 26/11/2012 10:02

don't agree with everything in organised religion not anything.

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 10:10

Re mattresses - I've heard it's also about whether the mattress is still firm or not. The moses basket mattress I've used with DD is completely plastic covered but I was worried that it had become a bit bendy IYKWIM? DH thinks I'm being crazy though. Also ours and our UK cot mattress were stored for about two years in all sorts of conditions .... professional storage, on a container ship for a couple of months, then in a garage. If I had kept both of mine in good condition inside I would be much more likely to re-use them. In fact, a couple of baby stores here have acted as if I'm a bit crazy wanting to replace a moses basket mattress as most of them are barely used beyond 3 months.

happy due date Clarella! I would make up the cot either in labour or once you have baby home!

have scrubbed bathrooms and loos today. Remember doing it last week thinking it would be the last time before the baby was born!

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 10:12

well done on the changing table 2blessed. That sort of thing is completely beyond me!

Equimum · 26/11/2012 10:54

Hope your appointment goes well anne. I was lucky and got the 9.30 slot. Everything was looking good; bump grown, so within 'normal' range again now and head partially engaged. Midwife sure it won't spin now Grin. Also got booked in for HB so keeping everything crossed nothing goes wrong now.

Was quite scary when midwife said to book for two week, but if it's already here, she'll see me at home! Still feel quite a way off, but maybe....Shock

Sending lots of positive vibes to all of you who's DPs are being less than helpful ATM. I seem to have turned into a complete emotional wreck and am either crying on his shoulder or screaming at him....and he's being so lovely Confused.

Happy due date Clarella. I hope LO doesn't keep you waiting too long.
