Thought we should have a shiny new thread.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HoneyMum21 · 25/11/2012 23:02

Grr. DH has spoken to his mum tonight who obviously thought we would have backed down so when he said 'shall we book the B and B for you' she started crying again and saying she couldn't understand what the harm in her staying with us was. maybe if she tried to realised she is not the most important person in the world we wouldn't find it so stressful having her to stay apparently she has no recollection of us tellincher on a number of occasions that no one was staying till we had had some time to get used to the baby and finds it very hurtful that she can't stay despite the fact FIL stayed at travelodge (booked it before telling us he was coming up-had no intention of asking us to put him up with a newborn in the house) and my bro and sil stayed elsewhere too. She expected DH to back down for ease but he's sick of her manipulation and is finally putting his foot down with her to the point he's said if she carries on like this we're not seeing her for Christmas

Sorry needed to vent-again. She is infuriating.

spotty and stacey hoping you both have news soon :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/11/2012 23:08

Oh honey I'm glad your DH stood up to her! Manipulation is bollocks. Dash and his parents are far more important than her feelings! I'm Angry on your behalf!

Hmm. No pains ATM but can't sleep either. Jo him, let's see what tomo brings.

It's just the messages are from my dm and my sister surely they know I'd have let them know by now if there was news! Especially as my dm is my childcare Smile

Never mind, what I haven't told them but will share here is that I have been having more contractions today and backache with a lot of discharge. I've also emptied my bowels twice and it wasn't nice (tmi, sorry) so this may be things moving. But not ideal as I have ds's very first Xmas play tomorrow and he's a dancing cow and I really don't want to miss it plus dh and I have planned a day out shopping Wednesday which I'm really looking forward too so she has the go ahead to stay put until Thursday now Grin

Hope you get some rest spotty and then a lovely newborn to cuddle without too many more internals!

utopian99 · 25/11/2012 23:11

Spotty and stacey GOOD LUCK!!

dated fantastic news, so glad you came back to update us and yay for Joshua. Smile

ISpyPlumPie · 25/11/2012 23:15

Congratulations Dated - that's lovely news. Hope you get to go home soon.

Spotty - will keep my fingers crossed that things get moving for you.

Stacey and COD - sounds like the post-natal thread is going to be pretty busy soon! Good luck to both of you too.

Walnut8 · 25/11/2012 23:21

COD that sounds promising!

Am hoping spotty has disappeared to have a baby ...

DD just measured my belly with a ruler and said her little sister is twenty minutes away Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 23:57

Ha no baby here! The only news I have is that my cannula has tissued Hmm

Contractions are painful and quite frequent but irregular. It's annoying because I'm on a ward and all the lights are out so I just don't feel comfortable. Just had a contraction whilst on the loo, not fun!

Dp is snoozing next to me after moaning for ages about how uncomfortable he was Hmm argh I really don't want to do this! Think ill have that epidural Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/11/2012 00:57

spotty after how uncomfy I've been today and how much pain I have to put up with soon. DH was moaning about a stinging cut on his finger! Men are idiots aren't they!

OP posts:
WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/11/2012 01:00

Poke him with a big stick Spotty if you can't sleep why should he? Grin

Welcome Dye

Glad your DP set her straight Honey it's good to present a united front

Eek Stacey & COD sounds like its all systems go for you two

I'm too hoooot , I have the window open, no clothes on and no duvet. I can't bear it! Angry

PurplePidjin · 26/11/2012 02:25

Morning all, we're trying to get R to sleep in his crib. Which basically means me feeding him every 45minutes. I have to close one eye and cock my head to read posts...

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 02:48

You can do it spotty I remember DH slept in the chair next to my bed after I had my epidural put in with DD ... I guess I wasn't as moany so he could get some sleep Hmm. Are they checking dilation or doesnt that happen until contractions are regular? I can't remember at all!

honey so happy your DP stood up to his mum. Honestly?! Sounds like more going on than the obvious though, doesn't it? Odd behaviour??

Terrywoganstrousers · 26/11/2012 02:58

Right here with you ladies, hope things are moving for you both Stacey and SpottySmile
I'm up again after the fifth trip to the bathroom (TMI, sorry), think I either have an upset tum or my body has been getting ready. Hope not the latter just yet as I still have two weeks before this LO is officially fully cooked!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/11/2012 02:59

I'm not sure I haven't seen anyone since about 10 Hmm they are getting really painful but then ill have a gap!

Terrywoganstrousers · 26/11/2012 03:04

How annoying spotty,
It's a toss up between getting some sleep and staying upright to keep the baby's head on your cervix really isn't it.

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 03:33

I'd go for sleep but sounds like it's a bit beyond that? How long are the gaps?

Have sourced a local place that will do a cot mattress to fit a UK-size cot. It's 5 - 8 days delivery though unless I want to take DD for a 2 hour drive up north Hmm

Being a bad mummy today. Very scatty, too tired to play. Went to the park for half an hour, was all I could manage.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/11/2012 05:08

We don't have a cot mattress yet, we're planning on using the crib and Moses basket for a few months then digging the cot out and getting a new mattress when LO is bigger.

Well all pains stopped and let me sleep. Which is nice. Giving birth during the day must be more civilised?! Lol (with both dcs my 'latent labour' lasted 2 weeks with contractions going from 1/2 he aPart down to 3 mins. So I'm in for the long haul, but sleep is a much appreciated commodity right now!) oh and I have a weird non-headache headache Hmm feels slightly like dehydration, but if I drink more than a few sips I feel ill!

I hope you're doing well spotty

And I hope everyone else is getting some much needed sleep!

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 26/11/2012 05:26

I'll be doing cot mattress/bedding and monitor after Christmas - he won't be in his own room and out of my sight (bar 2 minutes to pee!) for a fair while yet!

Need Brew Sad

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 05:27

no i dont suppose there is a lot of urgency stacey re the mattress. I just want it organised though. plus i used to put DD in the cot even when she wasnt sleeping in it to get her used to it.

Ive just been reading on childbirth that long latent phase often means short and efficient active labour!

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 05:31

How is the feeding going pidj? have you decided to cut caffeine?

PurplePidjin · 26/11/2012 05:34

It sorted itself miraculously on Saturday night, we think i was just overtired and it transferred to R. Lovely chilled Sunday, and we're off to town to register him later - hence my offer to Dated as the registrar is in the same building. There's also a £50 mothercare voucher burning a hole :o

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 05:50

Oh that sounds nice ... especially the voucher part! Grin Glad it's going well!

Gosh I really need to get off the PC and do some tidying before DD wakes from her nap!!

olliebob · 26/11/2012 05:56

hi all well i have been awake most of the night, dh was mean to return to work after being signed off with depression but is currently still in bed from lack f sleep told him he needs to go in. So cos of worrying bout him i cant sleep, just knew this would hapen.

Congratsdated and good luck to those who appear to have things moving in that dpt. No sign of anything for me but not due til 8th and went over with my other 2dc. Also just to comment on the choc biscut dunking, totally agree with the spira comment and also wispa works quite well if both end bit off.

emilyeggs · 26/11/2012 06:12

Just got up and checking in on spotty. You're doing really well! I see lots of you up keeping her company, we're a good bunch Grin

Thoughts turn to dated, I really do hope she's ok

SpottyTeacakes · 26/11/2012 06:15

Well things have died off here Hmm I really thought it would be quicker given its my second but at least I got a little rest....

Walnut8 · 26/11/2012 07:03

ollie that sounds awful and stressful. I hope things improve.

I'm glad you got some rest spotty hope you're holding up okay.
