Thought we should have a shiny new thread.

Ooh Spotty sounds like you might need to lay down some rules for your mum.

PrunellaDeVille · 25/11/2012 11:18

Good Luck Spotty, with LO and the challenges of your DM

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/11/2012 12:00

spotty I hope things go smoothly for you!

Well my curry definately got my bowels moving (sorry tmi). But have had some strong pains and backache over the last hour. Got DH up run me a bath, which has been my comfy place, and I just can't get comfy! Belly still going hard but the pain is less ATM. Let's hope the curry triggered things. 37 weeks today, so that's full term isn't it?

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 12:05

Yep that's full term stacey!

You need to have empty bowels otherwise it stops the baby's head pressing on the cervix so it all sounds good Smile

Walnut8 · 25/11/2012 12:17

is that right spotty? I didnt know that (re baby's head on cervix). How are you feeling?

The hospital told me after show at 36 weeks that it was fine if I went into labour from 37 weeks onwards as thats what they classed as full term stacey ... hope it's progressing for you!!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 12:22

Yeah that's what the mw told me this morning! I'm ok thanks a little crampy nothing exciting. Having some yucky lunch then going to go for a wander Smile

PrunellaDeVille · 25/11/2012 12:31

another one to add to the weird pregnancy symptoms list - yesterday lunchtime and today i've had a really tingly mouth after eating. any clues? is it really a symptom or am i just becoming generally weird.

other mouth related symptoms i've had throughout pg now i come to think about it - constantly feel like there's a bit of fluff at the back of my throat Confused and can perpetually smell/almost taste blood.

hopefully all the little quirks and niggles will suddenly disappear v. soon, at least within the next 3/4 weeks Grin
pg is such a weird time

PurplePidjin · 25/11/2012 12:55

Stacey, i did that and made it rain Hmm

brooke89 · 25/11/2012 13:41

spotty hope things don't take too long to get going so Envy of you getting to meet little one soon!

I spent 4 hours making a cake and cupcakes for MIL birthday dinner today, just got out the car and dropped them all over the road Angry so pissed off! Cried like a baby picked the remains of it up and chucked it all over the car....officially fed up of being pregnant I want this baby out NOW!!!

EggsMichelle · 25/11/2012 13:45

Just had some wicked BHs in Tesco, glad I had the trolley to cling onto, however stopping dead in the middle of the aisle is one way of pissing off the fellow shoppers! Disappointed they have stopped how I'm home, bloody typical!

brooke89 · 25/11/2012 13:46

And hello terry Grin

EggsMichelle · 25/11/2012 13:54

Sorry, Welcome Terry!!!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/11/2012 14:01

Had some pretty strong pains that I can't sit through (although cant stand up without help). They aren't very regular so we'll see how things go.

Secondsop · 25/11/2012 14:15

Oh brooke poor you, re the cakes. I'd have done exactly the same thing except probably thrown the cakes at the nearest passing stranger in fury.

Hmm my blood sugars were a bit high this morning - 8.3 - after a late brunch of fry up where the only carb was a genuinely small portion of chips - would have fit easily into the palm of my hand. I'd been doing very well at controlling them in the last week BUT I also lost 4lb in a week, so I'm not quite sure what's going on in terms of whether a high reading matters in the light of that. I only have 3 more days of this to go so if I do ring the diabetic centre tomorrow I'm not sure what they could do about it assuming the rest of my readings continue to be ok.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/11/2012 14:25

If you get another high one Seconds I'd be tempted to ring. They might tell you just to up your metformin.

Any progress Spotty? Never been on a live birth thread before, tis quiter exciting!

Oh Brooke you poor thing, I don't blame you for crying. The clumsiness is really annoying isn't it? Not long now

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 14:28

Nothing to report Sad going to be a slow one!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 14:34

Also Brooke poor you I'm not surprised you cried!

Sounds like some of you will be having your babies before me!!

emilyeggs · 25/11/2012 14:50

DH laughing at my new leopard print nursing bra Sad

HoneyMum21 · 25/11/2012 15:09

I just dunked a chocolate finger in my tea to which DH shouted 'sacrilege'. I never knew he cared either way!

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 15:15

Ooh exciting Stacey!!!! Hope it is the start of things Smile
I'm just about to go and have a bath too, so uncomfortable and can't take any more paracetamol for another two hours!
Ive been reading about evening primrose capsules. Does anyone know when it's safe to start shoving them up near the old cervix?

Emilyeggs, DP has been laughing at my bras too as my norks have grown AGAIN so I had to order a load of bras on Thursday, I ordered 18 ( sending most back!) and the ones which fitted are 34 J and K cups, so he is feeling very proud of them (he's a boob man!) and simultaneously horrified at the size of the bras. I feel a bit sorry for him really, he'll be deprived of them for some time soonGrin

itsMYNutella · 25/11/2012 15:18

Prunella the metal/ blood taste can be another fun normal pregnancy symptom... But itchy mouth as far as I know, is associated with allergies Confused you might want to figure out what it was and either try it again/wait till post preg/ or see if you can have an allergy test at some point.... A friend of mine has a slight nut allergy and Brasil nuts make her mouth itch so she tends to avoid them. But it could also be pregnancy related Hmm

emily I'd be very p*d off if my DPlaughed at something I liked... But then I can't say his taste on clothes is exceptional Hmm so I'd probably ignore him if he did laugh at me...

Been using magic webbing to hem the ikea curtains for the baby corner.... Took ages! Am now having a nice sit down with a cup of fennel tea :) not my favourite tea but find it makes me feel somehow brighter...

Secondsop · 25/11/2012 15:19

willyou - cheers, will see what they say; they said the few days before the birth were really important in terms of controlling sugar so I've managed to get myself worked up about it. At the moment I'm on 1 metformin twice a day because both times I tried to step up to 2 my stomach couldn't tolerate it.

itsMYNutella · 25/11/2012 15:20

Oh, hello Terry! And welcome, one very important question; are you for or against biscuit in hot drink dunking?

BTW I can't remember who it was but am very :o to hear that scientific proof has been provided that dunking a biscuit improves the flavour!!! :o

honey :) at your DH - is it just chocolate fingers or all biscuits?

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 15:25

I like a dunked biscuit.
Ends bitten off a choc finger (sadly a gluten free one now) and used as a straw for hot tea is ideal BiscuitBiscuitBiscuitBiscuit

HoneyMum21 · 25/11/2012 15:31

Just choc ones he has issues with dunking apparently
