Good luck Spotty!!

PurplePidjin · 25/11/2012 08:45

Alison, bf is a great excuse - you seriously can't move while feeding, and they feed for up to an hour at a time (hence me training dp to put my biscuits on my free side; biscuits you can see but not reach is the 8th circle of hell imo!) I suggest you get it straight from the outset of your ILs visit that you're struggling to feed and therefore can only do so in the bedroom with no interruptions. Anyone (apart from dh, who must bring tea and chocolate) who interrupts will encounter a raging, hormonal harpy. Then just hole up with your favourite dvds, mn and baby only to emerge when you feel strong enough or at meal times :o

Pyjama day today, dp's off for a run with his club. Colic magically cleared up to the point where i got 2.5 hours straight sleep (Thanks dp) so R is curled up on my chest with a head miraculously free of sugar puffs Wink

2blessed · 25/11/2012 08:58

Morning
Good luck spotty, you'll be having cuddles with mini-spotty by the end of the day.

Yay to 2.5 hours sleep pidj, you've got a great dp.

My dp was working on releasing my oxytocin before he left for work today Grin A bit uncomfortable now, but I really needed it!
36wks today - whooo!

kate2boysandabump · 25/11/2012 09:02

Thinking of you spotty

pidj try keeping track of what you're eating. I can't eat tomatoes when breast feeding and I have to keep caffeine low. My mom couldn't eat cheese, this was an enormous sacrifice from her on my behalf!

Dh off hiking for the day, so just me and the boys at home. I feel some dcs watching coming on.

I have finally packed a hospital bag and a bag for the baby.

I wanted to finish my baby's coming home cardigan today, but I've lost the second ball of wool. Will have to wait til Monday now.

kate2boysandabump · 25/11/2012 09:03

Dvd not dcs!

Mummycox · 25/11/2012 09:09

Thinking of you spotty hope all goes well

Hope that those that are having sleep issues get mid Sunday morning snoozes.

HoneyMum21 · 25/11/2012 09:12

Good luck spotty

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 09:25

Can I join you lovely ladies? 35 weeks tomorrow, due date is Dec 31st so just fit into your quiche!
DC 2, I have a 9 year old already and planning a home birth hopefully.
I'm also in agony from broken rib and torn intercostal muscle so although I'm desperate to nest I'm not even allowed to Hoover or drive. Go figure. I have been indulging nesting by abusing online shopping.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 09:28

Pessary in. Told I need to open my bowels Blush I bloody know that but no one will leave me alone for five minutes. So anyway on the monitor now and baby has hiccups. Dp won't be here for a good hour. Once off the monitor ill try see my notes and bishops score Eugh I forgot how ghastly internals are!

utopian99 · 25/11/2012 09:30

Good luck spotty, Envy of your imminent arrival...

We have my parents and brother coming to stay for Christmas which is 10 days after due date but could be before the birth or coincide if he's late! Thankfully i know they will all reliably help/not crowd us and if he decides to wait till then to make an appearance can be asked to entertain themselves elsewhere with no offense. PIL are only 30 mins away so no question of overnight stays there..

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 09:31

Oh and my mum is pissing me off asking me how I am saying she will leave her phone on in church this morning so I just said well don't expect any news until tomorrow and she was like well I'm down at hospital tomorrow seeing such and such. God even if I've had him I don't want any visitors so soon ffs Angry

HoneyMum21 · 25/11/2012 09:40

Hi terry. Poor you with your broken rib- how have you managed that? I broke mine a few weeks ago from coughing so hard!

PurplePidjin · 25/11/2012 09:41

Hello Terry Brew how did you manage the injuries?!

R and i are enjoying Jazz fm and a programme about Caribbean music, daddy has gone running and will return with beef to roast from the farm shop. Domestic bliss :)

Tell the mw no visitors or calls, Spotty. She's only worried though pita though it is

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/11/2012 09:43

Good luck spotty I guess 7lb 12. Fingers crossed for you, leave strict instructions with the midwives that you don't want visitors and get them to send her away if necessary. I wouldn't want visitors that soon either.

Sorry to all the 4am ers but I had an amazing sleep, the truck was obviously to boot DP into the spare room, a lovely 9 hours straight through!

Hi terry that's horrid about your ribs. They hurt enough without a break and a tear, I can't imagine how painful they must be!

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 09:45

Ribs were from coughing, have had whooping cough which has somewhat ruined my second and third trimesters!
Am feeling a tiny bit abandoned today as DP has gone off to watch City/Chelsea match and won't be back until tomorrow, but DD has just made me a cup of tea in bed (horrible tea but I have forced it downWink). I overheard him saying to her before he left 'look after mummy today' so she is obviously taking her responsibilities seriously Grin. Heigh ho, I will spend the day making insane hormonal lists of baby/ house related stuff I need DP to do.

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 09:50

Spotty- good luck. If you want some space from your mum you could always do what I did yesterday and send a not very complimentary message meant for your DP about her, TO HER! BlushBlushBlush. Major fail.
I did this yesterday by mistake after my mum made me cry, and the silver lining is I think there may now be radio silence for a few days. Which is no bad thing. ( not really advising this course of action btw!)

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 09:50

Sorry for double post, not sure what happened there!

emilyeggs · 25/11/2012 09:57

Good luck spotty thinking of you today Smile

emilyeggs · 25/11/2012 09:59

Hi Terry we are a chatty lot Grin

Terrywoganstrousers · 25/11/2012 10:03

Good, glad to hear it as I am very bored stuck in at home so have been spending an embarrassing amount of time on MN!

Clarella · 25/11/2012 10:08

Good luck spotty! Aw an excited granny - can you ask mw to ban her ?!

That's good pidj hope it continues.

Thats a good point about the food, had forgotten that. Mind you isn't it just cake at first?!

Sick again in night but persevering with sipping diorlyte, some must be getting through. Still only my first glass though as too much triggers it all off again. Dh off to get calpol. Seriously reconsidering sweep on tues simply to get some strength back in case it works! And allow the bruised bump to feel more up to it! I wouldnt really be bothered about all this lounging about (keep doing some all fours stuff though) but its my due dste tomorrow and i wanted to jump and jiggle about all day today! And that bloody downstairs floor still needs scrubbing post builders ( oh never mentioned - my disdain was v clear on weds when they were in and for once did everything properly including using posh dust sheets - however of course plaster got everywhere, and the older ones left the youngest in clearing up. He briefly hoovered then sprayed furniture polish all over the new wooden floor creating a nice sticky crust of wax and dust. Hmm Which i need to scrub off. And floor only supposed to have water on it. Ah well hopefully feel perkier tomorrow!)

Clarella · 25/11/2012 10:14

Hi Terry! Oh goodness thats really bad, sounds like youve had a rough time of it. I suppose the slight silver lining is that everyone in the house is likely to be immune but still a horrid thing to have had.

Dh is still in bed. I want calpol.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/11/2012 10:24

Welcome terry

clarella I hope you can eat by the end of today.

Well I've just got dcs to strip their beds as its sunny here so I should be able to get them dry. Hanging last nights washing out has caused bump pains. :( hoping they lead to something but knowing my luck they won't.

Welcome terry. I wonder how soon it will be before my baby will be old enough to bring me tea in bed? Husband hates doing it - he's not a tea drinker so doesn't get how great it is. Am seriously contemplating a teasmade, if they even still exist!

Hope it's going ok spotty

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2012 10:46

I'm fine thanks being moved back down to the ward Smile

When I had dd my mum visited in SCBU every other frigging day and the same when we got home!

Welcome Terry hope your ribs heal quickly for you
