Flamin I've got the opposite problem at moment, I feel so uncomfortable like I could explode! I can't stop eating, my appetite has gone through roof, only problem is I've not been to the loo for a number 2 in days!!
I think its normal at this point for bumps to change shape. Your little one might be standing up! (Which is what DH said to me when I had same concern as you - it tickled me!)

MooLL · 02/12/2012 20:30

It's no use ... After tons of watches, the John Lewis advert STILL has me in tears ... Damn hormones!!!

lollypopsicle · 02/12/2012 20:40

Been away since yesterday so have only just caught up. Just wanted to say, little I'm thinking of you and sending positive thoughts and prayers your way x

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 02/12/2012 20:40

mooLL thankfully I can now just about watch the John Lewis advert, I'm still crying at other random ridiculous things though.

berri glad you've had no bleeding for a while. Are you up and about again now or still on bed rest until you've been given the all clear?

My bump is now looking huge, and I'm sure the maternity clothes are making me look bigger. I realised today what a bargain I got with my £8 M&P eBay cardigan. It was described as lambs wool blend, I looked at the label today, it is lambs wool blend, it's blended with cashmere Shock. I guess someone didnt know what they were selling!

25 mile bike ride today. No idea how that one was going to go but it was great! Just needed to stop for a snack partway round (& might as well have inhaled my roast dinner)
Not been out since before I got pg so pleased I made it round Blush. Defo going to try again while the bump will let me Envy
LB thinking about you. Thought today as I pedalled round: There is no reason in the world why you shouldn't be that 1% x

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 02/12/2012 21:47

25 mile bike ride? I'm impressed. I can barely a stroll around the kitchen. :o

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 02/12/2012 21:47

*barely MANAGE a stroll around the kitchen.

GeordieCherry · 02/12/2012 21:55

Nora I'm 16+1, couldn't have managed in weeks 4-13 at all & who knows what the next few weeks will bring. Enjoyed the air & the endorphins though
Weirdly, walking up 2 flights of stairs makes me need a sit down..?

berri · 03/12/2012 02:00

Seven they've said just to take it easy, still no exercise and no standing for more than 20 mins! I've also hired a cleaner so that's been a massive help. I nearly started crying when I saw how lovely & clean the house was Smile

NipHipOutey · 03/12/2012 12:49

Hi all! Massive Mumsnet lurker...thought I would bite the bullet and say hi! Due on 13th May...so 17 weeks today! Nice to meet you all!!

mwncigirl · 03/12/2012 13:14

mwncigirl · 03/12/2012 13:16

Try againSmile hi niphip Welcome! We're due date buddies Thanks

Kittykatmacbill · 03/12/2012 14:25

geordie supa impressed, I had to stop at about 7 weeks, as I had a couple of dizzy spells when walking, so got a concerned that it would happen when I was out on the bike. I can't wait to get back on my bike. Xmas Grin

We had our 16 week midwife appointment, we heard the heartbeat! So very exciting, but had a right grump of a midwife though. Eek Xmas Hmm

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 03/12/2012 15:01

Hi niphip.

kitty I can't wait to hear the heartbeat, I don't have my 16 week appointment until the 19th when I'll be almost 17 weeks.

Is anyone organised for Christmas yet? The last of my presents arrived today. I caught the postman trying to leave a sorry you were out card without bothering to knock, thankfully I saw him through the window and stopped him as he was about to drive off. I think Royal Mail would have felt the full force of my pregnancy rage if I'd had to take the DCs on a 2 mile round trip to the post office in the rain! Me and DS made potato print present labels earlier, and I've booked my tesco delivery for 23rd so feeling pretty organised now, I've just got wrapping to do, and the tree will go up next week. I love Christmas!

We're going out for dinner tonight and I WILL be having deep fried Brie mmmm.

Hey all!

oooh xmas plans, how exciting seven. I didn't think about booking a food shop that far in advance, what a good idea. Also, how did you do your potato print present labels?!

I have managed to do most of my xmas shopping now and have one or two things I am making. Am getting it out of the way as I have to work over chrimbo and want to enjoy the little bit of time off I do have!

welcome nip! am due the day after you on the 14th :)

kitty lovely that your heard the HB. sorry about your grumpy MW tho.

aw geordie am so envious of your bike ride (and impressed!). I am virtually housebound now, it sucks. you doing ok tho berri? so glad you've not had any bleeding for a while!

speaking of which, I wanted to get out (had horrid cold over weekend so stayed in being ill) so took DS to the childminders and it was black ice all the way :( I was in so much trouble trying to stay upright so of course my dodgy placenta is bleeding a bit now. It seems that if I use my abdominal core it just all kicks off. Am gutted as obviously with winter here I won't be able to get out much. Am dying to go swimming and running!

AND I have been told that DS might get whooping cough as his playmate at the childminder's has it (poor thing). I just hope against hope he doesn't but he does have a dry persistent cough and that is apparently a symptom. Am snowed under with work, chrimbo and placenta (!) stress, if poor DS gets whooping cough as well I might as well give up and never get out of my jammies! Grin

moo bless you. I am the opposite and sit grumbling at everything! am a grumpy witch!

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 03/12/2012 15:51

wilde has DS been vaccinated against whooping cough? What's up with your placenta, is it low lying? Potato print labels were really easy, we cut our potato into a holly leaf shape then used green paint and stamped it onto bright colourful A4 card. We done 10 prints per sheet, we done 4 sheets so we can just use the best ones, some of them look like they were done by a 4yo :o. When they're dry we'll put red glitter glue berries on them then cut the card into label shapes and hole punch them.

Re food orders, Xmas eve slots will be available on tesco tomorrow. I'm not organised enough to do the order yet. I just added 2 bottles of vodka to make it above the £25 minimum, nearer the time I'll edit the order, remove them and do the proper order.

wilderumpus · 03/12/2012 16:01

yo seven. DS has had all his jabs so guess he has, but apprently it only stops it being as bad, rather than immunising against?! eek. Yep placenta is low lying and spots whenever I do anything more than mooch about the house. Grrrr.

ooh so it is like you have 'marked your place' with the delivery slot?! Am thinking I will do the list and send DH out for buying with DS and get them out of the house so I can work... Have an ocado delivery coming tomorrow and I cannot wait... because I ordered yum yums! OMG baby loves yum yums Grin

potato print idea sounds great!

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 03/12/2012 16:06

I just found out that my MIL has informed here employer that she will be retiring at the end of April. First/only grandchild is due on the 1st May and she needs to come to Sweden for a month to help us. I'm so touched, I can't stop crying.

I can count on my fingers the number of times my daughter's paternal grandmother has seen her in the past 19 years.

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 03/12/2012 16:06

*her employer, not here employer

Picklep · 03/12/2012 16:53

For all those suffering aches and pains, particularly back, DH got be an electric heat pad from Argos, it's saving the day. Also great to warm cold feet!

Kittykatmacbill · 03/12/2012 17:17

nora that is lovely... My PiL have announced that they want to babysit! Which is pretty sweet for them.

You peeps are Xmas organised, my mother is hosting and has invited nine people! I am veg peeling duties but don't need to help on the day, dh has been told he has to help - giggles!

Have recovered from grumpy midwife, still stupidly happy re heartbeat!

Also have you spotted the news Kate and wills are expecting, another challenge in the naming process. Smile

Ellypoo · 03/12/2012 17:26

It's fab hearing the heartbeat, isn't it! I go again tomorrow to listen - getting weekly appointments for reassurance - hopefully once I start feeling regular proper movements then that will be reassurance enough.

Am Xmas Envy at you all being so organised for Christmas! Have started my shopping, but still loads to go, but can't face shopping when it's busy, it just makes me feel ill, so trying to do as much as poss online.

RE Kate & Wills - I'm surprised it's taken so long for them actually, but hope that she has a trouble free pg!! Wonder when she's due??

Feel like i've been kicked in my pelvis, my coccyx (sp?) is incredibly painful, particularly after a day at work, even with a special cushion with a cut out bit. And my lower back aches. If I sit on the settee too long, my hips sieze up - I'm like an arthirits riddled old woman at the moment Xmas Grin

Half way through tomorrow - yay!!!

17+6

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 03/12/2012 17:27

I wonder if Kate is going to join MN.

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 03/12/2012 18:00

Elly how will you be halfway through at 18 weeks?

flamin that's very sweet of your MIL, I take it you must get on really well. Mine isn't too bad but no way I'd be able to cope with a newborn and my MIL staying for a month!

Apparently Kate has hyperemesis.

Is anyone else still not having any cravings at all? And I'm still drinking tea which I usually hate by now. I'd be really worried if it wasn't for the occasional flutters.

Does anyone know when we're meant to have the whooping cough jab? I haven't seen my MW since booking in and she didnt mention it then. I'm not sure whether its worth phoning to ask or if I should just wait and mention it at the 16 week appt.

OP posts:
wilderumpus · 03/12/2012 18:10

seven the jab isn't until we are 28 weeks.

I don't have cravings as such, no... but i am extremely partial to particular crisps - french fries, skips and wheat crunchies. Don't like indian food. And am off tea! is so weird but it just is too tea-y! Hmm

flamin that is lovely if you are pleased about it. I would run for the hills if it were my MIL Grin

sorry to hear you are suffering elly

thanks for the tip about the heat pad pickle. what is it exactly? I have such a sore lower back, around my coccyx and slip-sliding around on the ice earlier has set off the first twinges of spd. would it help that? My pelvis around the back feels like it is becoming unhinged if I walk far - not all the time tho. Am sitting very still today to get over it asap!

have only been getting teeny little flutters here and there over the past few days, I could even be making them up. am starting to fret! I want a decent booting! Grin

aw poor kate middleton. imagine having HG and having to do public engagements and pretend all is well in case the press find out before 12 weeks. eck.
