hello,
like someone else said upthread I am also reading this every day on my phone, but find it too fiddly to update till I get to a computer.
I also had a bit of a stress out in the week as I didn't feel the baby move all morning. I ended up bursting into tears in front of a couple of women at work - luckily they are both lovely and have children themselves so they were really nice to me
. I called the day assessment unit and they told me to go home from work and lie down and drink a cold drink, and sure enough I then felt loads of movement. Unfortunately that was the day of my work xmas lunch so the naughty baby made me miss it :-(
I had a midwife appointment yesterday, she said the poky pains which I thought might be a UTI are probably ligament pains. Turns out I have been drinking cranberry juice all week for nothing. It does seem to mostly happen when I walk and I have to slow down and take tiny steps till it wears off. It also hurts when I am in a car and we go over a speedbump without slowing right down.
My bp was a little higher than usual, but not high enough for them to be worried about. The good news is she said I should be fine for a homebirth provided my iron levels are high enough and my bp is low enough at my next appointment.
The other good news is I only have one week left at work, then it doesn't matter if I stay in the house for the last month. Who wants to go outside in January anyway? :-). I also feel like I have loads to sort out before the baby is born so I don't think I will get bored on maternity leave. Lots of necessary stuff like washing baby clothes and setting up the cot, but also I am having urges to do things to the house which we have never done in the two years since we moved in - clean the outsides of the windows for example (yes I know i am a slob). Is this nesting?
I have started listening to the natal hypnotherapy cds. A friend lent them to me and she had really good births so I figure it is worth a try, especially as I tend to be quite anxious.
Pmgkt so glad you are getting your section
complicated my SIL was induced last week, and she found the bit on the ward before labour started really boring. She also couldn't sleep for the noise which meant she was knackered before labour even started. Based on what she said i would definitely take lots of things to keep you occupied and some earplugs to help you sleep.
birdies I ate blue cheese again yesterday. I went to a christmas meal and the veggie option was portobello mushrooms with blue cheese so it was that or starve. I figured statistically I am far more likely to die in a car crash on the drive home than to get listeria poisoning from a stuffed mushroom, so sod it.
