New thread! I've lost my lovely spreadsheet so if someone can add in the stats and update, that would be wonderful; I'm sure someone else had a spreadsheet that was as anally organised as me

OP posts:

Arrgghh! My car is dead again! Why?! Talk about the worst possible timing. I'm 34 weeks on tues, have 3 dcs that need to be dropped off at various school Xmas things/cubs/beavers and it's almost Xmas and we really can't afford to take it to the garage as we have no
money!

pmgkt glad to hear dr agreeable to 39 weeks, leaving you to 41 just seems nuts! Hope you are ok and not too bored

pmgkt · 09/12/2012 19:11

Ah apples I feel your pain. In the last month my car has had a fuel leak, siezed calipers on Friday when I was supposed to get to a hospital appointment and the alarm has a sensor fault which it is being taken in for on Tuesday. Somehow I need to sort these things from my hospital bed too. ! Cars are great when they work.

AppleCrumples · 09/12/2012 19:20

Oh pmgkt I think that's worse! At least I am here! It's a battery problem something seems to be draining it, we have a charger so dh has been taking it off and charging so I can use it. Really can't afford a big problem! Thankfully have a lovely mechanic who I'm hoping will be able to help cheaply! May just stick out bump and cry Xmas Grin

how are you doing in hospital? Hope you've got lots of books to read!

pmgkt · 09/12/2012 21:12

It could just be a new battery then? Not too bad, why does it always come at the wrong time. I'm doing puzzles from the Sunday paper

AppleCrumples · 09/12/2012 21:33

I'm hoping it's just been flat so often now that it will just be the battery. It would b a pain happening so close to Xmas without being very pg too!

Are you in your own room or with others? Hope you get to have baby soon and get out of there! Nothing more boring than being stuck in hospital especially as you have a little one at home too

newbie6 · 09/12/2012 22:24

Hi all,

I have either pulled something in my left side lower back or I am in early labour as I am in agony! My stomach is tightening but the real pain is my lower left back, it's like having a stitch but at the back as opposed to the side or front? It's agony to breathe in or cough. I'm 34 weeks on Tuesday.

I don't think it's labour but I'm in agony if I move a certain way. I thought I was going to be sick from the pain earlier. It started about 4 hrs ago, have taken a bath and 2 paracetamol but to no avail.

Will see how I am tonight and tomorrow but feeling pretty miserable. Not helped by the fact that I'm still working flat out, building work is pretty much finished but its all the niggly things that need doing and husband has left it all to me so am just feeling a little overwhelmed I think. Am pretty fed up to be honest, have hardly spoken to DH all day as he has pissed me off so much.

Think I'm just scared now of everything, the birth due to my diabetes, stressing something goes wrong, my work because the person who I took on is now off till the 7th Jan and I will need to cover everything and the house cause we still need all the little things done before building control signs it off, I just wish someone else could sort it but DH says he'll help but it never gets done so easier to do it myself.

Sorry, am just feeling sorry for myself...hope everyone else is ok and pmgkt, hope you get on well tomorrow.

Xx

Newbie! You have to go and seek medical attention. It could be preeclampsia, or some other complication, they can come on fast.

dieciocho · 10/12/2012 07:30

newbie, be careful, I hope you feel better this morning, but if not, go to the hospital.
You know we're more at risk of pre-eclampsia being T1, don't you? Yeah, of course you do, sorry!

x

BahSaidPaschaHumbug · 10/12/2012 09:08

Newbie Sounds horrible. Labour pains tend to come in waves so if its constant it might be a muscle. Hope you've managed to talk to someone by now. Good luck to you if it is labour.

pmkgt just caught up and seen you're in hospital! 4 weeks sounds an awfully long time to spend just waiting, I hope your consultant lets you have the section at 39 weeks. Have you got much to occupy you? Must be very boring just hanging around with no real plan in place.

Apple my car scraped passed its MOT on saturday thank goodness. No battery problems here, just the central locking playing up. It doesn't work remotely any more and its a lottery guessing whether it will unlock all doors or none at all Confused. Seems ok with the spare key but not the main key but the spare isn't behaving at starting the engine so I'm carrying both sets in my bag Xmas Hmm...

Am making a last ditch attempt to get presents for my parents today (no idea what to buy) as they have announced they are giving me our presents tomorrow when I see them for lunch. I refuse to go into town though so the options are TKMaxx, Argos or PCworld on the industrial estate or nothing. I have some bits to return to TKMaxx anyway so I will start there.

Feeling a bit better this week, baby has jumped up again so the pressure is less and I can function in society again. I have a yoyo baby.

theboutiquemummy · 10/12/2012 09:26

Newbie please give the midwife a ring just for your own peace of mind pain is pain n you shouldn't have to suffer if there's something you can do x

pascha love TKMaxx I've given up trying to Christmas shop we nearly got run off the road yesterday Blush the crazies have gotten behind the wheel Grin and the silly parking has startedAngry recession my backside the city was chockablock

How's everyone feeling/doing can't believe that they are some of us still working if you are you deserve a medal because this last bit seems so tiring x

birdiesinthesnow · 10/12/2012 09:28

newbie keep us posted. Any pain like that at this stage needs to be discussed with your midwife straight away just in case. I hope you gave them a ring last night but hopefully it's nothing.

Pascha enjoy your shopping, doesn't sound like the most fun trip!

pmgkt hope you're doing ok?

apple hope your car gets fixed.

Not a lot to report here. Going to Xmas markets this aft. Baby is doing the twist and shout (ok not the shout) moving left to right. Presuming that means she's not engaged yet. I don't mind if she waits until after Xmas day to make an appearance....

pmgkt · 10/12/2012 09:29

Morning all. The consultant has been, and she wants to review the position over the next few days. If it stays head down she is happy for me to go home, and then sharpish to hospital when anything happens. If she isnt happy for me to go home, I'll get section at 39 weeks.

birdiesinthesnow · 10/12/2012 09:30

boutique have you noticed how everyone turns into a grumpy selfish git when Christmas shopping?! I went the other day and even being obviously pregnant and with DD in pram I was still beeped at when I didn't move my car quickly enough and ignored on the zebra crossing!

BahSaidPaschaHumbug · 10/12/2012 09:33

Oh good news pmgkt

birdies and boutique all the better with a 2yr old in tow...

happyhow · 10/12/2012 09:41

That's good pmgkt. Def sounds more reasonable. Glad they have listened to you.

I've just had 36wk check. BP has slightly lowered from last week, no other symptoms and measuring bang on for dates so midwife very happy. Still breech though so will check next week and be sent for a scan if need be and then I'll need to decide what I'm doing regarding turning/section. Don't think I fancy turning though...

BahSaidPaschaHumbug · 10/12/2012 14:30

Loads of lovely baby stuff in TKMaxx. Fleece blankets and swaddles, grobags, velour sleepsuits with cute reindeer on, Aden and Anais muslins, a dragon suit(!) I could have spent a fortune (I didn't, I was good. I took my stuff back and got some kitchen bits and mums present instead).

Glad your bp has come down happy I've had an ECV last time. Good fun.

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 10/12/2012 16:10

Excellent news, pmgkt - don't know what that original consultant was thinking!

apples how are things? Hope all is well.

happy great news on the bp coming down.

pascha you are very restrained. I've been having to stop myself buying some bits that I really don't need want - a couple of gorgeous little sleepsuits, but I'm going to wait and see what we are given, as we got lots of beautiful things for DS when he was born, and I had already bought half the stock of next and mothercare.

TMI ALERT

After last week's false alarm with (ahem) increased moistness, I think I may be starting to lose my plug. Lots of clear, snotty globs on the toilet paper when I'm at the loo today.

I know it can regenerate, but was still rather exciting, and feels like a step in the right direction. Got my first sweep on Thursday afternoon, so hopefully if things are ready to kick off, that'll get them going!

dieciocho · 10/12/2012 16:11

Has anyone else got sore, swollen feet?
I know it's a sign of pre-ecalmpsia, but I'm not concerned as I haven't got any other symptoms.
None of the advice works: taking shoes off, putting feet up, raising mattress, not standing/sitting for too long, walking, drinking water...

MamaMary · 10/12/2012 17:06

I had this with my last pregnancy, dieciocho, and I did get pre-eclampsia, so keep an eye out for other symptoms. How many weeks are you? I'm expecting to swell up a bit in next few weeks...

Pmgkt glad the consultant was a bit more reasonable; and I hope you get home because you'll be bored out of your mind in hospital.

Newbie so sorry to hear you're in pain. Any developments? what did the midwife say?

Bunty how exciting!!

To be honest I'm so relieved I'm not working any more (well, did a last little bit of work from home today but DD was in nursery so it was fine). I feel that in the last few weeks of pregnancy we're not supposed to push our bodies to the limit - it's not good for us or babas. For those of us with toddlers, it's so much harder of course...

AppleCrumples · 10/12/2012 17:58

Hi all

pmgkt that's good news hope you get to go home.

happy I don't fancy the sound of ecv hope baby turns for you. Can't work out what way round mine is will see what mw says on wed.

bunty that sounds exciting!

newbie hope everything ok and pain settled down.

Finally got myself together enough to wash stuff for hospital bags. Dcs got all excited at sight of baby clothes bless em, must be strange for them mummy keeps getting bigger and crankier and they know there's a baby coming but they don't really understand the time frame!

Sadly car still dead dh doesn't seem in any hurry to sort battery charger but still complains about lack of food in fridge Hmm wonder how he thinks food will get there as I am not getting the bus to do the shopping at 8 months pg!

BahSaidPaschaHumbug · 10/12/2012 18:15

Point 'im in the general direction of supermarket delivery apple

AppleCrumples · 10/12/2012 18:32

pascha if only I could! I do not have a debit card and his account is empty :( I sometimes think our policy of no credit cards works against us!

I have pointed out that without a car this won't get better but tbh it's the dcs that shout loudest about lack of food, he's gone back to bed before work so I'm the one dealing with dcs!

Lora1982 · 10/12/2012 18:34

Im swelling up too. I was getting worried about pre-eclampsia so everytim i get even the slightest headache or swollen ankle look i get all fretty. She said not to worry if the headache goes with paracetamol hich it does and ive figured the feet swell anyway at this stage.

I had an embaressing sniffle in the car cos i wa thinking about next week when i finish work :-D

Sending head pointing south vibes to you pascha!!!

Lora1982 · 10/12/2012 18:43

Obviously the head facing south vibes were for pmgkt :-D but you can have some too pascha....

newbie6 · 10/12/2012 20:10

Hi all,

Still sore today so have called MW tonight and she has referred me to physio so just waiting for a call from them tomorrow hopefully. She never mentioned pre eclampsia though and didn't seem worried about me. I've not got any swellings etc and have felt baby move today so am just assuming I have pulled something in my back? I havE had a rotten cold and am still coughing which is blooming agony now due to back, typical just as I start to sleep better I do something to my back!

Everything else seems fine so don't think I need to worry? Surely MW would say to come in if they thought it was pregnancy related, do you think I should call back as I just called to say to them I thought I'd pulled something in my back as I was in severe pain and wondered if a physio could help? They know I'm a type 1 diabetic?

X
