New thread! I've lost my lovely spreadsheet so if someone can add in the stats and update, that would be wonderful; I'm sure someone else had a spreadsheet that was as anally organised as me

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AppleCrumples · 07/12/2012 18:41

Hey bunny I vaguely remember this happening with my first. Think it is just skin stretching as you grow. I used loads of baby lotion on it seemed to help (will add tho this was during the hottest summer which may have been the cause)

Poor you with the coughing I've had this this week and it's miserable :(

Bunny222 · 07/12/2012 18:52

Thanks apple will try that tip. Yep coughing is rotten, hope ur doing better now.

MamaMary · 07/12/2012 18:58

Wow, can't believe some of us are nearly there! My baba has stayed put for now, thank goodness (only 33 weeks). Home from hospital, with rest of antibiotics and instructions to keep a close eye on things. Still feel very fragile. This was one vicious infection.

Fair play to NHS hospital ward though - I was properly looked after.

Apple sorry to hear you've now come down with the dreaded cough. I am still coughing would you beleive it after weeks and weeks - fingers crossed yours will be a nice, light, short cold.

mrsbugsywugsy · 07/12/2012 19:23

Hi all,

I changed my mind and called triage after all, I decided I would only worry if I didn't. They've advised me to keep an eye on it and call again if there is any more, or if I get any other symptoms.

bealos I have some yaxtrax (sp?) from a couple of winters ago and they are great when it is really icy. The only annoying thing is they are really hard to get on and off, and I am worried I will struggle a bit now it is harder to bend over. They are great on thick ice or snow, less so in slush or pavements with the odd icy patch.

katolla great news that the baby is head down! Mine was at the last midwife appointment, lets hope she stays that way.

Bunny I have been using coconut oil on my bump and my skin is nice and soft, even though I am normally prone to eczema / dry skin.

Glad you are home safe mama

CreepyCrawly · 07/12/2012 19:42

I need to have a rant so feel free to scroll past..

My bloody PIL! They're great, we get on really but my god they're annoying me tonight. DH is out this evening fiddling with my car so it's just me and the dog. PIL have a chip shop that shares our back porch, and they're open tonight. I went for a shower earlier, locked the doors etc. was quite enjoying my boiling hot shower, but then I could hear knocking on the door every 2 minutes causing the dog to bark. I got out the shower, phone is ringing. Did 1471, MIL's mobile number. Got my mobile, missed calls from MIL. Popped in to the chippy, they didn't want anything, just having a quiet night. FIL just came in asking me if I know where DH has put a tool he borrowed from him. I haven't a clue and DH's phone is going straight to answer phone. FIL starts rooting around in some bags in my dining room! I don't think your tools are going to be in a Claire's Accessories bag!!

ALSO, a woman that works for DH is 'shocked' at how much weight I've put on and hopes its 'all baby or water'. Not sure why DH told me, but I'm furious! I have a large bump, but I don't look pregnant in the slightest from behind and still have a small waist.

I don't even know if any of this makes sense I'm typing so fast in rage!

Hope everyone else is well! Glad you're home and feeling better mama

AppleCrumples · 07/12/2012 20:11

Thanks for kind words all! Am looking on bright side at least we didn't all go down with that sickness bug... Sadly the cold was inevitable as both ds2 and dd have it. Poor baby can't be pleasant for it when I'm hacking away. Hope everyone else suffering feels better soon.

mama glad you are home safe. Make sure you get planty of rest and take it easy.

creepy am Shock at your dh colleague! It's amazing the things people feel they can say to/ about a pg woman, as if you are public property!

CreepyCrawly · 07/12/2012 20:16

It's ridiculous isn't it apple! I couldn't believe it. I haven't weighed myself, but I look pretty much the same as I did before, just with a beach ball shoved up my top! I had a lady poke me yesterday too, to see if my belly button had popped!

happyhow · 07/12/2012 20:37

Mama glad you're home safe - take it easy over the weekend.

Creepy we're staying with my in-laws at the moment til hubby has finished all the work on the house. His parents are doing my head in too! His dad doesn't work so he's currently fussing over me all day (although he is learning that I can do stuff for myself...) and his mum doesn't believe in silence - she has to talk constantly! We went to bed the other night because she wouldn't stop talking through a film we were trying to watch. Sometimes I think I should've stuck it out at school til the holidays as planned but I would've been mega tired and grumpy at night which would've made our whole stay here horrific!!!

bunny use lots of moisturiser on your bump. The skin itches and dries out as it stretches so that should help make you more comfortable. It won't prevent stretch marks but at least you'll have a nice soft bump!!Smile

pmgkt · 07/12/2012 22:48

Just thought I would update you. I came to hospital today for a presentation scan as baby was breech, but things have developed and it transpires I have an unstable lie, which means it is moving around all over the place due to excess fluid. There is a real risk if either my waters break or I go into labour so I have been admitted and will be in until I give birth. I an 37 weeks today and sounds like they won't section too at least 38. So I'm in for boredom, childcare nightmares and trying to sort out broken down cars from my bed. As well as minor issues of dogs and rabbits. Dh is away in Liverpool on a stag do which is about 4 and a half hours away. Fun.

Complicated24 · 07/12/2012 23:25

pmgkt you poor thing. Were you able to go home to pack a hospital bag before being admitted? And DH is away too. Nightmare. Horrible though it is, you and baby are in safest place right now. Had never even heard of an unstable lie beforehand. Take care and feel free to rant as much as you want to.

newbie6 · 07/12/2012 23:46

Sorry to hear that pgmkt, hope you have managed to get some of your things or at least someone to bring them in for you? Safest place though for you and baby and just think in 7 days you could be meeting your baby! With any luck your DH will get to you soon and give you lots of love and support, we are all thinking of you and as complicated24 says, feel free to rant away! Hope you manage to get some sleep. X

salt1 · 08/12/2012 06:47

pmkt hope you are ok and not feeling too down, if it cheers you up in any way i discovered i have a pile yesterday, i am revolted yet curious at the same time. dh who has a dry sense of humour at the best of times keeps asking how my "farmers" are. i was not expecting this!!!!

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 08/12/2012 07:09

pmgkt I'm so sorry, what a nightmare, but definitely better safe than sorry. How did they diagnose unstable lie from the scan? My madam keeps flipping from left to right, but I'm guessing that's ok as I mentioned to midwife.

Are you near any of us that we can help out with childcare until you get sorted?

If Liverpool is 4 hours away I don't think I'm near you, otherwise I'd offer my help (am on the Wales/England border near wrexham/Chester).

Hope you know soon what's happening, and that DH is home soon for you.

theboutiquemummy · 08/12/2012 07:36

Oh pmjkt that sounds like a nightmare !! Are you ok in yourself though ?

Fingers crossed for you that everything goes ok x

What's an unstable lie ?

Tugstonia · 08/12/2012 07:47

Morning all. Haven't been on for a while, lots to catch up on!

pmgkt hope you're ok, what a nightmare. Haven't heard of unstable lie either. You're in the right place for you and baby though and hope you can get stuff sorted from there. Can DH abandon the stag do?

mama glad you are home now, must have been awful and v worrying. Rest lots and take care of yourself.

Lora congrats to your DP on passing his driving test! My DP is getting driving lessons for Christmas and his parents are going to help us buy a car which is pretty damn awesome!

Creepy that's so rude what your DH's colleague said. Makes me so angry that people feel they can say what they want about/to a pregnant woman. Also your PIL sound annoying!

My bump seems to have grown loads in the last week too - 34+1 now. Finishing work next Wednesday and seriously cannot wait. I'm thoroughly sick of the 3.5 hour round trip commute now. Work has appointed a maternity cover (finally) with no actual experience of what I do Confused and she's coming in Mon/Tues for handover so that'll be fun... So looking forward to mat leave!

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 08/12/2012 07:53

Oh my GOD creepy! I missed your post before - she deserves a punch in the face - how utterly rude!

Bunny222 · 08/12/2012 09:14

pmgkt that really is rotten for you. You're def in the right place. Hope that you're able to sort all those bits out, use all the help you can get.

tugs sounds like we're pretty much at the same stage. Am 33+4 bet that commute is a killer. I start mat leave on Friday, can't blinking wait.

creepy that person sounds like they've got a damned cheek! Why do people feel the need to comment on our size, esp then followed by how much it's going to hurt pushing them out? Nice!

One of the girls from my NCT group had her baby this week, which has scared the life out of me that this is really happening...!

Lora1982 · 08/12/2012 09:17

Ive got excess water aswell pmgkt and now im worried cos ive not been forced in already. Im not jealous though... Im totally sympathetic to you it must be a nightmare stuck in there... not fun!!

Got the plumber in this morning finishing my new bath CANNOT WAIT

i need to get my arse in gear and finish a website im making but i know itl stress me out so id rather empty my kitchen cupboard or finally pack a hospital bag.

PricklyPickleInAPearTree · 08/12/2012 09:24

pmgkt Sorry you're stuck in hospital. Is there no way they'll let you go home? Are you on a ward or in a room on your own? We're all here to keep you company.

Bunty any progress? Over the last week or so I've had a few small gushes that have made me wonder whether they were waters or discharge (I can't believe I'm talking about the contents of my knickers on the internet), but I've had a sniff and it just seems like watery discharge to me although much more than I've ever experienced before. I've had it after having a wee or getting up after sitting a long time and once after the baby punched me in the Foo Foo Grin. Its really hard to tell though isn't it. I'm a couple of days behind you, not 37 weeks until Monday, but nearly there.

Mama you take care of yourself for a while, you need to conserve your energy.

My bump has been quite painful since Thursday and tender to touch. It feels like the baby just has completely run out of room and is straining against my insides. It doesn't come and go so I don't think its bh or contractions, its all the time. I'm finding it harder to sleep as I keep having to move to ease the pain. Anyone else got this, is it just because I'm now heavily pregnant, or maybe a growth spurt? I've gotten away with this pregnancy thing really lightly so far so I suppose I shouldn't moan, I will not be fun to live with if I'm like this for the next few weeks.

milkand2sugars · 08/12/2012 09:29

pmgkt first time I've heard of an unstable lie as well but you are in the best place.

It amazes me how people think they can comment on your size. 3 people stopped me at the school Xmas fayre yesterday to comment on how big I was and all thought I must be over due! I'm only 34 weeks Blush

Baby brain has well and truly settled in dd's were not impressed when I woke them up this morning shouting because I thought we had overslept for school.

pmgkt · 08/12/2012 09:31

Thanks for all your messages its lovely. Mother in law is going to look after ds1 during the week and my mum will come down to help when she isn't working. I'm in southampton bunty but thanks. I just miss him loads, but I'm sure that's also tirednesd and hormones. Dh will review his situation after doctors have been around as there isn't anything he can do.

An unstable lie is where they don't remain in one position, but are constantly moving. It's not a problem normally, may just result in planned section, but because I have excess fluid as well the fear is that if my waters break, cos there is so much, the cord my also flow out, into birth canal or further causing it to fail thus starving baby of oxygen. Neither is a problem by themselves though that would result in being in hospital. If excess fluid but baby head down and ready to go, that's fine too. Hope that helps explain to those with one or other problem.

Done breakfast and ordered lunch and tea, the excitement!

birdiesinthesnow · 08/12/2012 09:31

creepy how annoying. I don't get why people feel they can comment on our bumps. When i was lying on the dentist chair the other day the dental nurse said my bump was very 'neat' for someone due at the end of this month. Which means 'small'. And given my measurements and scan it's the not the most helpful of comments. It's only smaller when I lie down, it's pretty big when I'm stood up :(

pmgkt really hope you're ok. Hope the time flies and you get to meet your babba soon.

bunty they've cancelled my order :( Bastards. It was an initial pendant - how can they sell out of all of them? Esp as I have a more unusual first name. Boo.

I had the weirdest dream last night. Baby popped her feet out of my tummy and whilst we were trying to find the camera to get a photo of them, my entire baby popped out. Fully dressed and dried. Then the dream took a turn for the worse and as my tummy was sliced in half from top to bottom, the rest of the dream was about trying to find antibiotics for me whilst I walked about with my insides on show.

Hope the poorly people are feeling a bit better this morning.

birdiesinthesnow · 08/12/2012 09:34

Ps bunty my baby is doing the same as yours - one minute her bottom is on the right, the next on the left. I don't know how much it matters though?

Complicated24 · 08/12/2012 11:13

Salt1 I discovered my first pile last night too. Never had piles before (and didn't really know what they were). It's not uncomfortable or sore, but maybe all that's to come. Feel properly pregnant now!

I get totally fed up with all the comments on bump size too. I am either very small (which is totally the wrong thing to say when last scan showed baby was below 5th percentile so am already paranoid) or, wow, haven't you grown since last time I saw you. I would love someone to say your bump is totally gorgeous (which of course I think it is!) and don't you look well. On plus side, saw MW yesterday and for first time was measuring spot on for 35 weeks, BP good and had bloods taken so hopefully iron count good too.

Am really struggling to sleep at moment and seem to sleep for just under an hour, then wake up for an hour or so then sleep again. Everyone keeps on saying it's good practice, which I'm sure it is, but so want to be rested before little one arrives.

Have a good weekend everyone. Really thinking of you pmgkt. Hope you can watch TV and there's a good afternoon film on.

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 08/12/2012 11:29

Good luck with the bathroom, lora!

Another small gush this morning, prickly, but now convinced I'm just extra moist Xmas Blush as I 'captured' some, and it was milky fluid rather than clear. Re: uncomfortableness - could be a growth spurt or position I reckon. Mine was throwing funky shapes the other day, pushing my stomach right out with her back and it was agony!

pmgkt - ah, the excitement of hospital food! I wonder when they'll tell you a section date? We could have another baby here as early as next Friday!

birdies I think most other women tell each other their bumps are neat if they're nice - I know I do, hope I've not been putting my foot in it inadvertently! To me, it's saying "You've not ate all the pies!" Xmas Wink. I'm chuffed when someone says my bump is neat. :)

My 'friend' who I saw for the first time in over 2 years told me a couple of weeks ago that I didn't have a bump and was just very wide! Xmas Shock I look like I'm smuggling a bloody beach ball.

Bastards on the cancellation, though! It is very strange feeling/seeing the flip from side to side! I think it's because they're not engaged yet. Mine is free at the brim, so can still toss about. :/. Really need to do some squats or something when she's on the left!

I'm going to get my hideous pile lopped off when I've had her and recovered. I have just the one, but it's been there for years and hangs out :( until I was pregnant with DS I thought it was just an extra bit everyone had Xmas Blush
