New thread! I've lost my lovely spreadsheet so if someone can add in the stats and update, that would be wonderful; I'm sure someone else had a spreadsheet that was as anally organised as me

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
birdiesinthesnow · 05/12/2012 20:26

Ah that's good (not sure I'd have been as honest about the undercharging though Grin)

TMI but I've been to the loo now and the additional room for baby is helping lol, so was prob nothing.

Have a good rest of the evening everyone :)

Complicated24 · 05/12/2012 20:34

Happyhow wow, what an amazing last day. Bet you had tears in your eyes when you received the baby grow from your class. Enjoy the nesting.

Birdies I am getting loads of BH in afternoon/evenings too especially after I've just eaten - little one is always very still in mornings. I haven't got a clue what position baby is in as can't feel an obvious head or bottom (think anterior placenta hides a lot) but bump goes very hard. I worry that I won't know what onset of labour feels like, so just hope instincts kick in.

BahSaidPaschaHumbug · 05/12/2012 20:54

Happyhow your class sounds lovely. What a great finish you've had.

Birdies dont say that about stuffing my face with food. I have done just that this evening on pizza and garlic bread and my back is killing me and my stomach is rock hard. My back was killing earlier though, even a hot bath hasn't alleviated that.

TBH I think I have reached the point where I'm ready for this baby to be born now. Even though I have a neat manageable bump and no waddling or pains I am knackered all the time, sleeping badly, achy lower bump as the day draws on. Mum says I look like the bump's dropped and I feel that from inside so maybe Widg is snuggling down nicely into my pelvis now and thats why I feel so draggy low down now. Just need to get to Sunday and I am officially full term.

Regarding ECV. I've had one, successfully. pmgkt I think I already answered your other thread with a link to my experience. As regards stats, the obstetrician gave me a 40% success rate at that hospital and they had never in her (then) 16 years there had one progress to emergency CS. I was very very well looked after, 3 doctors, 2 midwives and the obstetrician in the room and constant monitoring as well as before and after.

It was the right choice for me and one I would make again.

AppleCrumples · 05/12/2012 22:16

Hi all your all so chatty, trying to catch up!

happy sounds like you had a lovely send off. Hope you can enjoy putting your feet up now.

I can't remember who it was whose baby is now breach I hope baby turns there's still time.... I say this as am fairly certain mine is transverse! Just feeling where things are am freaking out a bit as I'm sure the others were all head down by now. But I'm only 33 weeks so baby can turn right? I have midwife next week so will ask her but am worried it won't move and I'll end up with a c-section.

SquealyB · 05/12/2012 22:28

Hi all

Hope you are well. I've been off line the past few days as I have been really ill with a horrible cold and cough. Has been grim! But on the mend now.

happy how lovely! That is a great start to maternity leave.

pgmt and others, I have heard that moxibustion (burning moxa sticks near feet) which is alternative therapy which is supposed to have a high success rate in turning babies than an EVC. I have no personal experience but others in NCT class said it worked for them and NCT class teacher also raved about it so maybe worth liking into?

Hope everyone else is doing well too x

MamaMary · 05/12/2012 22:40

Hi all

Still in hospital, on antibiotics and steroids (the latter as a precaution) - they got concerned when my temperature spiked last night. Getting rehydrate finally after 30 odd hours on the drip. Will be in till

Hi all

Still in hospital, on antibiotics and steroids (the latter as a precaution) - they got concerned when my temperature spiked last night. Getting rehydrated finally after 30 odd hours on the drip. Will be in till tomorrow evening at least.

Decided / realised I will not be back at work. Both bosses were informed today and both were extremely understanding.

happyhow glad to hear about your nice send off. Though you'll not miss work in the slightest!

djvesi sorry you're still so poorly. Don't go back to work unless you're fully recovered - you really need to rest and put yourself and your family first.

SquealyB · 05/12/2012 23:02

mama sounds like things are stabilising and you are being well looked after. Hope everything goes ok. Glad your bosses were understanding too.

bealos · 06/12/2012 09:34

YES birdies - I had our Christmas party on Monday - quite tame with 7 of us and 2 of us pregnant. But involved a lot of eating. I felt awful afterwards. Didn't sleep at all properly. Loads of braxton hicks and lower back ache. Looks like I'll be nibbling on some stuffing at Christmas.

theboutiquemummy · 06/12/2012 12:57

djvesi · 06/12/2012 13:55

Hi Everyone
Thankyou sooo much for well wishes, this is such a wonderfully supportive group, my warmth goes out to all of you facing health challenges at the moment too.

We have a four day weekend with DS and DH home from today that we had intended as a last ditch effort to head north to see the northern lights, but fate instead has played a different hand and were all home sick with this evil flu! I have to say though, misery likes company and I am just happy that they're both around. Hopefully we'll al be on the mend after a couple of days rest.

PricklyPickle · 06/12/2012 14:45

Hi Boutique I'm here and I'm fine. my doctors appointment yesterday was because my last blood test showed that my white blood cell count was a bit low and he said this usually means a bacterial infection. I had that bug that was going around at the time so he said that was probably it. He listened to my chest to make sure the infection had gone.Very impressed with my doctor for being so on the ball, though I would have thought my midwife would have picked up on it, she had the results last time I saw her. Thanks for checking.

DJ stay snuggled up in the warm if you're poorly dear.

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 06/12/2012 15:16

Hope you're on the mend soon, dj, and what a brilliant dr, prickly

37 week appt today - no sweep as I expected, but that's fine. She thinks baby will be more than likely around about on time, possibly late :( but I was starting to think that myself honestly! She's now right occupit anterior (keeps flipping to left oa which is ideal!), measuring spot on for dates, and is now free at the brim - naughty second babies popping in and out of the pelvis!

She also thinks she's not a big baby, which I'm pleased about, strangely. Maybe because I have it in my head little girls should be dainty Xmas Confused

Anyway, off to the post office to pick up some parcels - hoping one is my bag! Shall report back soon ...

allchik · 06/12/2012 16:01

Aww happy that sounds lovely! 10 teaching days left for me (as get next Tues off for midwife/health visitor appointments) yes!!!!
Had a meeting with my maternity cover today and made it all really sink in that I'll be going very very soon eeeek!
Have still got loads of work to do before I leave, but am going to try not to stress about it and just get it done in chunks throughout the week.
Will need the last week just to tidy my classroom etc.

I'm going for about 2/3 wee's a night, was going 5/6 a few weeks back but calmed down now....although Ive started going for 3am poo's Xmas Blush bit weird as never used to lol!

Hospital bag is now all packed, the only thing Ive got left to put in is hospital snacks......baby clothes all washed and car seat ordered....think ive actually done all I need to??!! :)

Oh and my guilty secret for today, bought 4 jam donuts into work for me and my 3 teacher mates.....ate all 4 by morning break!!!! whoops! Twas the baby not me! Xmas Wink
xxx

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 06/12/2012 16:08

Well done on the bag, allchik, and the donuts Xmas Grin

Not the bag - but order is confirmed, and it is coming direct from supplier so at least it's not cancelled!

dieciocho · 06/12/2012 16:17

At 32-week scan yesterday I learnt that baby is breech again - it's a wriggler -so now I've added that to my list of things-to-worry-about-lots.
ECVs (the idea of) don't stress me out, although I'm not going to watch that YouTube video!

Only 6 lessons left to teach before maternity leave!

happyhow · 06/12/2012 17:46

I've discovered cadburys fabulous fingers. They are amazing. I've eaten 2 boxes today...Blush Asda are mean though because they have them on offer at the mo - £1! Bad Asda but actually very good Asda

bealos · 06/12/2012 18:12

Brrrr so cold! (ok, I'm a Southern wuss). Have been looking online for things to go on your shoes, so if it snows properly here (in London, so has to be pretty heavy snowfall) I can get out and about without being worried about being falling on my arse taking a tumble. Anyone else used similar?

theboutiquemummy · 06/12/2012 18:36

Aaaaw prickly that's a great Dr you got there x

bealos I got some snow boots from cotton traders for £22 in the sale n I'm in the country I've fallen over several times n they are great but I've heard the grips are great for ice x

mrsbugsywugsy · 06/12/2012 19:18

hi everyone,

Welcome, bohoec!

Lora have you considered having a homebirth? Then you can hire or buy your own pool from ebay. I was originally keen on the idea of a MLU, but my nearest one is about an hour away, in the opposite direction to the hospital. I therefore decided I would be safer at home as closer to the hospital in an emergency.

Otherwise I wonder if the MLU would let you take your own pool???

Oh and well done to your DP on passing his driving test Wine. My DP has only just started having lessons, so there is very little hope of him passing his test before the baby is born. We are planning a home birth, so presumably if I do end up in hospital the midwives will take me.

mama hope you are doing OK, are you still in hospital?

The top name on our shortlist is Alexandra, and I am now seriously paranoid that Will and Kate would 'steal' it if they had a girl!

I have finally finished my dissertation Grin so all I have to do is sleepwalk through make it through work till Christmas till my maternity leave starts. I have felt shattered the last few days and had to leave at 4.30pm.

fingers crossed I've had no pelvic pain so far, but I've been getting quite a bit of discomfort on what I assume is my cervix (although hard to know when everything is so squished up inside!). It is an odd and uncomfortable sensation when I walk or go over a speedbump in the car. Is this normal? It is worse when my bladder is full.

I've also just posted a question in the pregnancy topic, as I had a bit of pink discharge when wiping today. I had spotting a few times earlier on in the pregnancy, but haven't had anything since the first trimester. I've left a message for the community midwives, but I don't know how often they check their messages and whether it is OK to wait for them to call me back? It has stopped now, and I can feel the baby moving, so my instinct is it is probably OK.

Lora1982 · 06/12/2012 21:53

Aww thanks bugsy my dp had a grin on when i told him the forum girls had said well done :-D

I spoke to midwife today. Shes booked me into the other hospital in leicester cos they have two pools and one is definatly working. She said i couldnt go to the mlu cos of my bmi but i can roll up after the event if i want... Probably wont cos apparently this hospitals a tiny bit better with aftercare... Aslong as the royal isnt full cos the overflow gets sent there and theyl get too busy.

Dp needs to do some practice runs in the car there now neither of us have ever been to this one before.

Hope everyones well and has warmer toes than me. Only 8 working days left :-D

MamaMary · 06/12/2012 22:36

Yes, Mrsbugsy, still in hospital. The persistent diarrhoea is keeping me here, it's been tested and waiting for a result but consultant said it was unlikely to show anything and it could be the courses of antibiotics that brought it on..... So confused, still feel generally unwell but suspect I'll get home tomorrow if nothing else develops. Midwife seemed disapproving when I said diarrhoea hadn't cleared up.... Hmm

Can't decide whether I'd prefer to be at home in my own bed or here where I and baby are being monitored...

I think the royal baby will be Charlotte or Alice Smile

bohoec · 07/12/2012 07:32

Hi all

So nice to hear about how you're all finding your way through your last few weeks - it's really reassuring!

Sorry to hear some of you have been having health problems - but it's good to hear some of you are receiving some great care (prickly your GP sounds very conscientious!).

Mama - hope your symptoms clear up soon. Prob best to be in the hospital where they can keep an eye on you. Good that your bosses have been supportive.

I've started getting the most intense pelvic pain this week, right between my legs around the inner joints. Anyone else? I was expecting this kind of pain towards the end (I'm 35+4), but I hadn't realised just how painful! It's made me freak a bit about labour - if I'm suffering with this, how will I manage?! I don't think it's SPD (or maybe it is?!) - it's like I can feel my pelvic bones pushing outwards, if that makes sense. Great to hear if anyone's got any tips about not being a wimp!

Work xmas party today, then waddling on to a college reunion thing, then collapse into a warm bath I think!

Have a great day everyone x

salt1 · 07/12/2012 08:50

hello all, lots of love to those feeling unwell today, i am off to the dentist this morning and am quite frankly shitting it, would rather give birth ...
