Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks very much for all your kind wishes! Couldn't believe it - baby is absolutely fine; measuring normal for dates, nice strong heartbeat, in the right place, no reason for the bleeding that they could see. So, fingers crossed for the next milestone - the 12 week scan!! I was so relieved I cried like a total girl for ages, while grinning like a loon and the poor sonographer didn't know what to do with me! had my bag packed and ready in the car to be admitted that afternoon, I was so convinced it couldn't be good news. Very very happy mr & mrs in this house today - Christmas has come early :-) :-) . Good luck to all going for scans this week!

AlohaMama · 26/11/2012 20:00

webminx fantastic news :-D xxxx

DontGrumbleGiveAWhistle · 26/11/2012 20:58

Hi all - I was too shy to join before but I've had a scan today a saw a heartbeat (yah!) I'm 9+4d and this is number 4 for me.

webminx - congratulations! I was in for the scan today as I was bleeding on Friday - nothing as heavy as yours but I was still really worried none the same so I could only imagine how worried you were.

[waves hello to everyone]

webminx · 26/11/2012 21:08

Thanks everyone - fingers crossed my luck holds :-). The worst thing about the bleeding is that nobody can really tell me what it might be so I kind of continue to stress about it, despite our relief that everything seems ok otherwise. They've said it could be implantation/cervical erosion/old blood from the womb/gynae-related but no real answers so just got to hope it stops at some point It's still there, albeit it much lighter... So glad everything worked out for you at the scan today too DontGrumble! It's such a relief isn't it?!

CuriosityCola · 26/11/2012 21:28

Excellent news webminx Smile

Good luck for all the scans/ checks tomorrow.

I'm counting down the days to my booking in appointment on Wednesday. Can't believe I will be nearly 12 weeks before I have been seen!

olimoss · 27/11/2012 09:01

Aces news webminx - pleasing!

Meanwhile I got my first offer of a seat on the overground today. To be fair (i) I am wearing a pinafore type dress which could easily hide a big baby gut, and (ii) it was a nice lady (rather than the two men who ignored me) who offered, but I was so surprised I declined!

Weird.....I have been avoiding one of those 'baby on board' badge things, don't feel like I qualify for one yet. What are others doing?

Dillydollydaydream · 27/11/2012 10:47

Ah good news webminx

Hoping for good news for you suzy

I'm 13 weeks but no scan until Thursday! Really hope everything is ok, really nervous and won't believe there's a tiny life in there until I see it! After my mc in April I'm convinced something will happen!

DontGrumbleGiveAWhistle · 27/11/2012 10:58

webminx Thanks, it's a great relief. Shed a tear of joy when I saw the heartbeat (followed by a fit of giggles - swear I was a schoolgirl!)

olimoss am in Ireland and we don't do the 'baby on board' badges. Instead we either glare people out or suffer in silence. I'm lucky in that I walk to work or if I do have to get the train it's only 2 stops so I don't mind standing.

Since yesterday my body has discovered it's pregnant and I now have a belly, was shattered this morning and just couldn't get up (not normally this tired). I just have to suck it in and suck it up!

DontmindifIdo · 27/11/2012 11:39

Webminx - great news!

Does anyone know how to get a baby on board badge? Last time round my commute was rather shorter until the last couple of months, by which point I was huge so always got a seat!

SantasSecretSparkle · 27/11/2012 12:22

cola I think it's fairly standard not to have a proper scan until 12 weeks, but that doesn't make the wait any more bearable!! We've got one on Sunday but only because we're paying!! My NHS scan isn't till I'm 13+4!!!

I'm having terrible coccyx pain, anyone else?

olimoss · 27/11/2012 12:32

I just checked the TFL website and it says:-

'These are available from our Customer Service Centre by emailing your full name and address to [email protected] or by calling 0843 222 1234.'

MrsBri · 27/11/2012 12:35

Cola...due to a location cock up resulting in me going to the wrong place, my booking in is on 8th at 11+6 and my scan on 11th! Should've been 9+6, but never mind.

I just want the scan really to make sure all is well. I know I saw the wriggly bean at 7+6, but it seems ages ago. And decreasing symptoms worry me. Even though it's normal at 10+ weeks!

I should be grateful I've stopped being sick! I'm still nauseous and still feel 'weird', so should just get on with it.

Ooh...and in last few days had popping and fluttering internally. Feels like a living being throwing itself about inside. Which it could be...surely too early though?!

Any more scan news today?

Hello all too :-)

CuriosityCola · 27/11/2012 13:34

Santa it's my booking in appointment that is at 12 weeks. I should have been seen and had at least one blood test done for my thyroid by now. Just been getting messed around. My scan is the week after, which I think is more normal.

I can't find it on the thread, but I think someone had a more serious appointment today? Hope all goes ok and sorry for not remembering your nameBlush

For those on the London Underground, I got offered seats from 6 weeks last time. To be fair I looked a state with morning sickness. The best way to get a seat is just to ask! Grin Before a noticeable bump appears it helps to do the pregnant lady, belly rub. olimoss I missed out on a few seats by being too polite and refusing, even though I was desperate to sit down. It's a strange automatic instinct. Smile

CuriosityCola · 27/11/2012 13:37

mrsbri not sure what the earliest for baby flutters is?

MrsBri · 27/11/2012 13:57

It could always be wind!

DontmindifIdo · 27/11/2012 14:12

MrsBri - I've also had flutterings, but it doesnt feel like it did with DS so I think it's wind too... God it's all glamour having a baby isn't it? Grin

ChicaT · 27/11/2012 14:16

I just went up to a desk at one of the tube stations and they promptly gave me 2 'Baby on Board' badges - super easy!

ChicaT · 27/11/2012 14:20

To SantaSecretSparkle - have your coccyx checked out, you may have damaged it at some point and it could be playing up as a result. A damaged broken coccyx can have an impact on your birth - I broke mine years ago and it has healed at a right angle under my bum. Because of this combined with other complications, I'm going to have a CS so as not to risk baby getting stuck and having to have an ELCS (as happened to a friend of mine with a broker/badly healed coccyx).

ChicaT · 27/11/2012 14:26

Olimoss - I'm taking every chance I can to sit down on public transport as I never know when the wave of tiredness is going to hit! I asked someone for their seat for the first time the other day - felt very guilty, but then he was a fit and healthy young man so shouldn't feel too bad, and he didn't mind at all. I have been wondering what happens if all the seats are taking up by people who are a bit older, pensioner kind of age, but who look perfectly healthy and fit. Who wins the special seat?! I think I'd probably ask someone younger in one of the seats nearby.
