Hi all, feeling crapola, got toothache. SadSadSad
That's all.

zoeymlucas · 25/11/2012 20:47

Think the hormones have taken over today I cried like a baby that my friend planned her birthday night out Friday and even though I know I can't go I still think its nice to be remembered and not just ignored from the whole thing! So sat on hubby's lap and had a good cry, bottom lip job and all Hmm prob sounds pathetic I know! He ran me a bath, put a film on iPad and when I got in bought me a snickers ice cream to eat in there- think he is mastering just feed and make relax the crazy pregnant lady :)

In other news have wrapped loads of presents and been to Iceland and filled my new freezer with nibbles and buffet bits ready for Xmas , am feeling very organised!
Got midwife tomorrow which will be nice to hear baby and then physio Thursday so she can tell me once again I am broken- my consultant is back from his holiday in Wales next week with a name like David Davies not sure why I surprised he went there in Novemeber which is making me feel better and even considering making him sign a contract in blood to not go anyway till I have delivered baby!!! I am his first appointment in clinic next week so get to see munchin next week and see if my cervix is still messing about, which I am pointing out now it won't be it will be abnormally long and I will get to 36 easy Grin

ThreeForTea · 25/11/2012 21:00

Just having a relax before another working week gets underway. Had steak for tea - midwife's orders, more red meat for the iron. Seems quite old fashioned in a way!

zoey your kfc experiance has further put me off, maybe forever from eating from there! Poor you, and poor dp, as if you both haven't had enough to worry about.

Jojo 28, wow!

A friend texted me at half six asking if I fancied babysitting for her dc's this eve! I'm usually quite obliging but I just looked at the message and thought 'no chance!'

I just picked up dd's new bed. A family we know are moving to the States this week, and they've sold all their stuff. I bought all their nursery storage and their toddler bed. This means I can re-set up dd's room ready for the little man's arrival. Was thinking of setting the crib up quite early and letting a dolly 'sleep' in it to help her get used to the idea of a baby living there. I am really hoping that they will be ok to share from as early as possible.

Just on dd's sleep, the intense week of sleep training seems to have worked. I am so happy, and so so thankful that we did it. Thank you so much to all of you for you're encouragement and reassurance that it was the right thing, particularly as dh was so doubtful at the time :) She'll hopefully stick to the routine now and i'll be able make the most of 3 more months of quiet nights before it all starts over again!

lannyshrops · 25/11/2012 21:02

Zoey, just read your post to DH and he laughed out loud at the feeding the pregnant lady bit, he is totally in agreement!!,
So sorry about the night out thing, although understandable (sort of) not vey nice of your friend :-(

ThreeForTea · 25/11/2012 21:20

Hormones found me well and trully yesterday Zoey. I knocked a scotch egg out of my dh's hand because I was annoyed that he was just sitting there not helping while I was trying to get dd out of the door! Blush I think that was the best bit of stropping i've done since I was about 14. He just laughed at me!

zoeymlucas · 25/11/2012 21:24

I think it's DHs back up plan lanny the other day I come home from work all stroppy and he said I should take the cream cake ok 2 up to bed and watch a film, lol! Think if I am in bed relaxing he gets peace and quiet and I think he is amazing for buying me yummy food- however not sure my clothes will agree after baby! And to be fair I am a moany/ stroppy mare on a good day let alone pregnant :)

Three how old is your DD?? Only as DH wants to move DS2 to a toddler bed but I think he is too young and mummies baby still and a big bed seems so grown up- I did cave and get him a proper duvet set for bed Saturday rather than blankets that he had been using, but not sure I can go anymore just yet!

Can't believe it's Monday tomorrow already- think someone stole the weekend- role on 2 weeks off for Xmas !!!

Oodthunkit · 25/11/2012 21:28

Id have dd3(25 months) in her own bed by now if she wasn't still in our room ( & her room is on a different floor which is difficult for me).dd2 was in one at 18 months.

zoeymlucas · 25/11/2012 21:39

Hmmmm he will be 2 on Jan 31st and he to is on a different floor but will have a stair gate on his door when he moves bed- he just sleeps so well part of me don't want to spoil it- however I can't get in him and out cot now unless he stands up

ThreeForTea · 25/11/2012 22:31

DD is 2 on the 21st December. The bed she's in at the moment is a cot bed so was planning to keep her in it for a while, but then we had the climbing out incident which scared me! Dh seems to think that we could just take the bars off her current bed until new baby is too big for the crib and needs that cot with the bars back on. Then dd will move into the bed we got her today. I just don't quite feel like 'liberating' her yet though!

Oodthunkit · 26/11/2012 07:11

That's my problem too zoey

Oodthunkit · 26/11/2012 07:11

That's my problem too zoey

pinkpeony4 · 26/11/2012 08:51

Place marking with the hope I will be able to read this week & catch up!

backwardpossom · 26/11/2012 09:19

I'm finding it rather difficult to sleep at night at the moment. Rubbish. Just dropped the boy off at nursery for a couple of hours, so am enjoying some porridge and my feet are up :)

theTramp · 26/11/2012 12:05

Hi everyone. I'll catch up proper later as it were but sorry to hear MS and rashes and hurt fingers and dodgy hips and leg cramps and babies in uncomfortable places are causing probs.

Re exhaustion - well in last week I've been sick so not a bundle of energy but I'd say so far I'm learning to adjust to my new energy limitations - still. It sounds like lots of us are. Just shows to go what whirl winds we are usually in our daily lives & how we're generally coping with more than enough - as the saying goes. Hopefully we will all work it out & Christmas will be nice and not lots of exhausted pregnant Marchers collapsed on a sofa begging for foot rubs and dozing as everyone else in the family celebrates.

Chef - fingers crossed on building work completion.

Stormy - universal credit is not the nicest bit of new benefit legislation. I applaud aim of simplification because there is a degree to which you need to be "professionally" unemployed just to work out what benefits you're entitled to and how much, but agree with you that this doesn't seem to be fulfilling that quota so far. And the free labour stacking shop shelves is a bloody disgrace. providing work experience does not mean stacking shelves. Working for your benefits does not mean being loaned to supermarkets. And the new regs around childcare and going back to work are beyond disjointed, sufficiently so that even the Government admit it. I don't envy you one little bit. Mayhap a brain wave next year on a new bid you can start that will make you millions...! Hey, I can wish the best for folks. Even if it's wishing high.

The weird parenting stuff, lotus birth was it? And not putting your kids down? Whatever, I had a brief read via Google - not for me!

I'm feeling better, at least 60% so back to work this week and of course between usual work load and catch up I'm drowning. Argh!

Got first proper boot from Socs on Sunday. Gees it hurt. Flutterings def fine by me. :)

Em2010 · 26/11/2012 13:09

Hi All, am writing this whilst sitting in my car in the pouring rain, in the car park of Aldi whilst eating fizzy Haribo! Can't be bothered to go back to work! Pah! Have had 3 people comment to me this morning about how small my bump is and I'm feeling really rather stressed about it to be honest! Worried that baby isn't growing properly or something! Best quote was from my HoD who said "oh you were much bigger last time!" DD is kicking away right now (Haribo induced high?!) so feeling a bit reassured by that at least. This is a no-win situation really as I'd probably be equally annoyed if people were going around saying I was huge too!

Anyway, possom sorry about your bad night, hope you've had some restorative tea and toast!

tramp glad you're feeling a bit better.

Hello to everyone else! Hope you're not getting too soggy!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/11/2012 13:09

Hi all, hope you're all ok. Sorry to hear about returning sickness, aches and pains and crushing fatigue (and dodgy KFCs!!!)
Toothache continues, but am booked in with dentist for emergency appt in an hour.

Had a good weekend. DD stopped with my DB and his DGf. We went to cinema to see Skyfall and then had a wedding, so was lots of fun and DD loved bring with her auntie and uncle.

Am still knackered though after not getting back from the wedding until 12.45am. I was the designated driver (obviously...) and had to drive home in all the horrendous rain and standing water which wasn't much fun.

Definitely getting lots of kicks now and DH has been able to feel some too which is great.

Been swimming with DD this morning znd now just killing a bit of time until we go to the dentist. Back at work tomorrow and should be spending most of the day out on site in the national park, but think we might have to postpone due to weather. Think it might be just a tad boggy!

York ladies, are you going to the NCT sale on sat? I will be there helping so might see you if you do!

zoeymlucas · 26/11/2012 14:06

I know what you mean about bump stress Em everyone keeps telling me how huge i am this time already and bigger than the previous 2 put together - do they think I havent noticed I have my own orbit system already!! With Ds1 I lost 3 stone cos of sickness so never looked pregnant and DS2 even though I had a 'proper' bump it was nothing compaired to this one! However baby boy is always wiggling and last night after a cold glass of coke we laid and watched bump kicking for about an hour he was going mental so he is clearly happy and thats what counts!

Emsyboo · 26/11/2012 15:13

Hi everyone
This moves on fast! Sorry to hear about everyone's suffering with illness, morning sickness and KFC's! I had a similar experience with KFC when I was about 10 weeks scared the life out of me as was worried would trigger miscarriage so early on - needless to say not had another KFC since or plan to again was so ill and so was DH.

Shame not many people are getting to enjoy this 'nice' trimester - bloody hard work this baby making. We were supposed to be in the Canaries this week before I get too big but had to cancel due to low lying placenta and bleeds so sitting watching my DH (who had taken the time off work) decorate while DS is having a nap. Luckily docs have said I can't do much so I can't offer to help him lol although IO am getting stir crazy desperate to go for a walk or swim or anything to get the blood flowing didn't realise how much exercise I do running round and lifting DS.

DS is 22 months and far too naughty to be in a real bed - we also have a cot bed which we will keep him in till DC2 needs it - although will take the bars off when I am brace. The idea is to get him his own junior bed as a big deal on how grown up he is and also a bit of a 'sorry' we are putting DC2 in with you as can't afford a bigger house atm.

I was 24 weeks yesterday and like you all am relieved to have got this benchmark, particularly as if I have another bleed doctors are to give me a steroid injection whereas before it was just leave it all be and hope for the best but now they will actually try to save baby - hopefully this is all just precautions and everything will be fine but reassuring knowing they will do more now.

Been looking into hypnobirthing - anyone else?
I am optimistic placenta will move and I can deliver without section so looking into my options anyone else looked at this- seems pricey but friends swear by it! Not paying if I need a section though got too much to buy for baby lol :)

Hope you all feel better soon and sorry for the long post got a bit carried away :) x x

LexiandBeanette · 26/11/2012 16:17

Tramp I hope you feel better soon.
Em and Zoey I feel your bump stress! Colleagues keep commenting on how huge I am and how my bump has come out of nowhere (am now 26+2) and I had got myself in a right old state. Saw some close friends on Saturday who all commented that I don't seem to have put on a lot of 'extra weight' and midwife measured me as spot on for dates. Just goes to show that the 'look' of your bump bears little resemblance to the reality and I am feeling reassured. I do wonder if it is because I'm tall so said bump is rather prominent!

Another one here feeling unhelpful with decorating. DH spent all of yesterday painting kitchen but the smell made me feel awful, even with nice low volatile chemical paints. I did rake up some leaves and have promised to wipe down the cupboard doors once he has finished...

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/11/2012 16:34

Well been at dentist, apparently the root in my tooth has dies so I have got to have root canal work and a crown! Lovely. At least I get it for free, which is something!

emsy, my friend who had the baby a week ago did hypnoborthing. She said it didn't take the pain away, but made it much more manageable, and helped her to rest between contractions. She also had no pain relief, not even gas and air, for the pushing stage and said that bit went really well and her body did the pushing for her. She thinks it really helped her. She's the only person I know who's done a course, rather than just reading the book and buying the CDs, but it seemed to work for her!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/11/2012 16:36

Oh and on the bed conversation, DD went into a bed when she was about 24 months. We still haven't fully cracked bedtimes, and tend to have a bit of messing about every night, but it has vastly reduced from the long drawn out bedtimes we had when she first went into a bed. We have a gate on her door too so that helps!

Em2010 · 26/11/2012 16:55

ouch ethel sorry to hear about your tooth! Sounds very painful. Hope they can fit you in soon! Yes, i'm still planning on going to the next NCT sale. Hopefully I will see you there. Am hoping not to bump into too many RL friends as I want to stock up on girls things and I'm still pretending I don't know the sex!

zoey and lexi- it's not just me then! Not sure why people suddenly feel the need to comment on my body shape! Having said that I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror earlier and this outfit i'm wearing does rather hide my bump and make me look just fat!

Emsy sorry to hear about your low lying placenta trauma. Apparently I have one too although no problems so far. As you said, stay optimistic as i've done a lot of research and the vast majority do shift. Good luck with the hypnobirthing - sounds really interesting.

DS is now 2.4 and still in his cot bed. No way am I moving him out of it yet! Though like you zoey I can't pick him up unless he's standing now. He's a lovely little chap but he'd be so naughty if he didn't have the cot bars to keep him confined! Fingers crossed he's never tried to escape - I think that would be the catalyst for change at the moment. He also has a hard wooden floor in his bedroom and I don't like to think of him falling out.

Right, time to swim home I think! Looks very cold and miserable out there!!

OctoberCarrot · 26/11/2012 17:49

Evening lovely Marchers.

Sorry to hear many of you are feeling unwell. I suppose we are getting bigger and bigger. I am dreading January already as my brother and family will be back in oz, all the Christmas fun will be over and it will be a slow countdown to baby day!

No activities today so went with mum to help her with Christmas shopping. We had a lovely time. Brought DS to meet Santa in a store. A proper old fashioned Santa. He loved him and played ball so we got some lovely photos. Then we had a stroll down a street where he got to play a buskers guitar. My little musician. He was fascinated!

Had a disagreement in Topshop. I wanted a dress which is gbp28, one dress was advertised at ?36 and another ?43. Bloody rip off. They would not give it to me at ?36 so just left it behind. Often has this problem with them marking up the exchange rate. Will just buy it online instead.

Off walking with a friend tonight where we will right the world.

Hope everyone had a lovely day.

OC x

theTramp · 26/11/2012 18:26

I blanked out the KFC story out of pure horror. But then if you imagine what I'm seeing in NY minds eye when anyone eats KFC it'd probably be what you ended up with (I have issues). Sorry you had to go through that though and UGH!

Em - I missed off your toothache, and now it's root canal work, ouch! Ok so you don't have to pay for it but ow ow ow. Poor poor you.

I'm sorry ladies but your bump woes has had me giggling. Too big & you're upset. Not big enough and you're upset. Not putting any weight on and you're worried (?!?). Seriously there's no winning is there. You're so getting an entry in "WTFItAA" ( wot the f is that all about?!) because of all the woes we've got this is one of the daftest & yet worry we do. :)

Right off again, anon

Tramp Grin How are you feeling now with all the sickness? I know what you mean about learning to live within energy limitations, its just a different way of functioning isn't it? It's like suddenly the bank of your body won't allow access to your energy overdraft anymore :)

Oct that euro exchange rate always seems quite unfair!

ethel ouch with tooth :( Can they still do it though, does it change pain relief you are allowed?

I am achey today, have decided not to do anything this eve until after I have a bath :) Had so much to do today at work, doing an hour and half training tomorrow with team so had to prepare for that. Hopefully will go ok, we have a couple of difficult people on our team, including one team leader who I think at the moment is in the process of being managed out Blush. I feel a bit bad for her, but her output is abysmal and she makes anyone she goes anywhere near miserable.

Gave in my MatB1 form today! Remembered to get a photocopy for dh in case his work need to see it too.

Can't believe it's December on Saturday!!
