Lots of birthdays all in nov - so many people boning and making babies in feb!! haha. I felt kinda wierd when I realised my bro has a nov b-day and so does my nephew!!!

mrswee · 04/11/2012 11:32

tits good luck.
I doubt very much they will have any argument against giving you an epidural for the drip. I was induced with a syntocin drip when my labour with DD failed to progess over night. I for a brief time was addiment I didn't want an epidural ( obviously with no idea what I was about to face) and they were practicaly begging to have one before it all kicked in. I lasted about 40 mins with opiates and then said I needed to have an epidural too. they were only happy to oblige!

Iheartpasties · 04/11/2012 11:33

omg - that was supposed to say bonking.

Iheartpasties · 04/11/2012 11:34

mrswee · 04/11/2012 11:34

pikz · 04/11/2012 11:37

iheart that just made me spit tea! Brilliant!

Iheartpasties · 04/11/2012 11:38

mrswee there has got to be a reason!! I like to blame valentines day for this baby - it sounds almost romantic, except we cant quite remember doing it, and I spent the rest of the month saying 'I cant face another baby right now!?' (because dd was waking up 2 or 3 times a night and we were done in).

TheDetective · 04/11/2012 11:38

Morning!

Not long up - first time I've not been up at the crack of dawn with some long day of 'stuff' planned on my birthday! Got a few nice presents, a big bottle Badedas bubble bath - my favourite! From DP - it just so happens to be HIS favourite too! DS got me the 2nd series of Glee... I didn't finish watching the first series I got for my birthday last year. However DS has, so I'm sure he will enjoy watching this series Hmm... the kid thinks I'm daft! Got a bracelet off my mum, and a giant box of Thorntons chocs off SIL! And of course, my camera - but I knew about that, so it isn't a surprise! I love surprises!

DS only woke when we did - for the first time EVER! 11am! What is this?! I just noted his first spot on his chin this morning too! That is my baby! ARGHHHH!

Ooooh, bacon butty arrived...brb!

Catbag · 04/11/2012 11:39

Iheartpasties · 04/11/2012 11:41

Lets laugh a few babies out this morning !! Smile

TheDetective · 04/11/2012 11:44

Boning is more appropriate anyway Grin

I've now got South Parks Chef in my head singing 'feels like making luuuuuuuurve'. No idea why...!!

I'm not laughing my baby out... not today!

TheDetective · 04/11/2012 11:45

Thanks Cat!

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 11:45

Lol @ pasties boning! Hahaha!

Morning ladies. Sodding hell I am knackered. I am so glad I don't have any kids - I have no clue how people function like this.

Anyway, onward and upward.

Thanks to VQ for the hospital info - lovely to have some insider knowledge. Nice to hear the showers are lovely as well.

Woke up earlier to the sound of DH cleaning the bathroom. He must be nesting. He is great with housework - generally does most of the cooking and cleaning - but bathrooms are my domain. He has gone out to do some work then get some shopping. He told me he will vacuum when he gets home. I wonder if dragging the Hoover up the stairs might get things moving? I hate hoovering the stairs - I am sure the thing is deliberately trying to wrap itself round my legs.

tits what is failure in this context? You can only succeed. I know you are scared of the waters being broken so I really hope you get some comfort and reassurance.

Right - might drag my ass off for a bath.

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 11:46

Happy birthday toooooo yooooooo detective!

ShellyBobbs · 04/11/2012 11:46

Still in bed after no sleep last night, the rash is now causing me to swell, even my eyes. Fucking lovely! Hubby has also just realised that technically I could be another 3 weeks, he says financially this would be better, would anyone object if I ripped his throat out? Good luck Tits you'll be fine.

Catbag · 04/11/2012 11:49

Shelly Not only do we not object, we demand that this course of action be taken. He sounds like my DH

MissMummy1 · 04/11/2012 11:49

Happy birthday detective!

Day 2 of man flu and man is down. All sympathy for him gone and I'm now racking my brains for a way to amuse myself today. Already cleaned the kitchen (twice Blush ) and made bacon and pancakes for breakfast he wasn't sick enough to resist scoffing half of mine as well! . I need to get out of the house - total cabin fever!

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 11:50

Oh god shelly neuter him for that.

applepieinthesky · 04/11/2012 11:53

shelly three weeks would be better for me financially as well but sod that! I don't want to go a week over. We were forced to buy new sofas after the dog chair eating incident so are on a tight budget this month.

DP wants him to come next weekend because he has a week off starting tomorrow and will take two weeks paternity leave so he would get three weeks off in a row.

Boning Grin

MissMummy1 · 04/11/2012 11:55

Oh and good luck tits - I'm sure you're doing amazingly xxxx

This is defs a valentines baby for us. I was in the middle of a shitty stressful final uni placement and valentines day was the only time he was allowed near me! Mainly because we both forgot so I gave him sex and he gave me an 'IOU puppy'. My body clock and the pill decided to have a laugh at our expense and 9 months later we've got a baby instead! Obviously a hundred times better and after the initial 'oops' we we were both delighted. I still want another puppy now next year though Grin !!!

MissMummy1 · 04/11/2012 11:57

DH has made it clear baby is not allowed to come before due date so he can get a straight run of paternity and shore leave off until new year Hmm. Anytime after the 12th is fine with me as I will get MA! We can cope without it, but it will certainly make my online shopping addiction things easier for the next few months and let me take more time off work!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 04/11/2012 12:04

shelly you poor thing. Yes, your DH needs a swift kick to the groin!

Happy birthday detective.

TheDetective · 04/11/2012 12:05

Sorry for not replying to posts yesterday!

Tits Any position which aids gravity is good. Whatever you can manage. Perhaps try sitting on the ball with legs together, leaning on edge of bed with some cushions under arms/head? All fours - defo. Those would be my first choice!

It is strange though, as I feel the BH's far more strongly when lay down, when I get up they aren't as noticeable. But it is the 'pain' you feel more when lay down, not how effective they are on opening your cervix - at least that is my rationale! Good luck today, I was hoping you may be holding a baby by now...?!

MrsWee I wouldn't give it too much thought to be honest, first babies in OP position are difficult to move because of the tight uterine muscle. Subsequent babies are easier to shift, and are probably still shifting about quite easily. To reassure you - I was in hospital for 24 hours and palpated 3 times, once baby was LOA, once ROA, and the other complete OP - that was on waking in the morning. Which I think is its default position in the night! Try working out the position yourself? Does your bump change from soft to hard down one side? That is how I know (as well as feeling) which position he is in. When OP my bump is softer, and not as prominent. When OA, it is hard down whichever side the back is on, rounder and fuller! Oh, and I have an anterior placenta too. My suggestions would be to keep upright and focus on optimum positioning as soon as early labour starts. This is my plan - considering this baby seems on a pivot!

Also, yes, the chances are strongly in your favour for a better labour this time - even with an OP baby! It will be quicker, it is highly unusual for it not to be!

Have I missed anyone?!

Just got a facebook picture from MIL posted to my profile - and OMG!!!!! It is THE most amazing cake surrounded by cup cakes - I'm pretty sure its white chocolate, coconut and rasberry with sponge cake. She has made it. I want to go round NOW!!! Happy freakin' birthday for the pregnant fatso food monster!
