DesperateHousewife21 · 28/10/2012 19:36

kirrin I've been egging on every tiny twinge too and I'm not even 37 weeks yet and would really rather she stayed put for at least another week but I'm so fed up of being preg now I want to meet my little lady!

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/10/2012 19:37

The thought of you all examining your bum has made me chuckle. Smile

SwissArmyWife · 28/10/2012 19:45

Haha, I had to have a look after reading about it, wasn't difficult to do but then I've got a big mirror in my bathroom lol. Blush

Hmmm I wonder why it's there then, I do only have 12 days to go so I'll have to put my patient hat on for the time being.

Chunkychicken · 28/10/2012 20:04

I think the only way I could see any arse-feature, let alone a line betwixt my cheeks, is by asking DH to view and the romance has gone as it is, let aloe with anal perusals!! [hwink]

I only had my WC jab on Friday and I asked about the 2wk thing, DH, as obviously with all the twinges and baby starting to engage, I'm concerned I won't make it that far; she said that any antibodies made would protect me and stop me passing it on. [hhmm] I really wish they had made it a bit more of a priority, like they did with my flu jab, as I'm worried that, being #2 with a toddler sibling will mean s/he come into contact with more bugs than DD did at the same age.

WaitingForMe · 28/10/2012 20:13

Thanks for the explanation YW.

I don't imagine I have a purple line above my arse as DH helped me with my moisturiser this morning and he's somewhat disconcertingly fascinated by changes in my body. Examining the giant pores under my nipples was not a high point in my life. Anyway, I'm sure he'd have commented if he'd seen something new Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 28/10/2012 20:22

Hia. horsey you are a total and utter champion.

Erm, I don't get this purple line thing. obviously I wandered off upstairs to check out my arse. I have a big reddish, purpley line which is surely where my big old cheeks are squashed together. How can anyone see between their cheeks? What kind of line are we actually look for here? Do I dare google?

I bought some Witch Hazel yesterday in boots. I read about putting some on a pad and putting the pad in the fridge before using. Seemed like a good idea.

Passmethecrisps · 28/10/2012 20:24

Oh, and we went to see Skyfall. It was extra-awesome. I am sooooooooooo thirsty though. DH ended up buying two mahooooosive cups of juice and we finished both.

TheDetective · 28/10/2012 20:30

Oh fuck sticks :( I've got myself worked right up in to a frenzy. Baby just won't move. I've tried it all. There were some movements earlier but very gentle ones. Im going to ring to be seen now as I'm just sat here panicking nothing new there. I was hopeful that it just means I'm close to labour but the movements were definitely less than usual yesterday although there was a busier spell in the evening.

DP will have to stay at home with DS as no one to babysit. I'm worried that something will happen and I'll be on my own.

I need to get a grip here. I'll update later. Very very poor signal at hospital. Don't be surprised to not hear anything for a few hours. Hope I'll be laughing at my stupid self later!

Passmethecrisps · 28/10/2012 20:34

detective get yourself for a check up - you know that as soon as they strap you up baby will have a good old wiggle.

Good luck and check in when you can.

Peaky1 · 28/10/2012 20:35

Hope everything goes ok Detective and that you're laughing at yourself very shortly.

Pass I'm half tempted to google but I don't want to look at women's bumholes!!!! Hopefully there is just a niiiice tasteful (!) diagram somewhere Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/10/2012 20:36

Good luck detective

I had a right old stupid panic earlier, I got stuck, stationary, on m25 about three cars behind an accident with lots of ambulances, I was envisaging it being one of those that takes hours to clear and I suddenly thought, what if my waters go, I sat in the car and started to cry. I wanted to go home and I was stuck! It was a horrible feeling.

Anyway 'twas obviously only a bump as 10 minutes later I was on my merry way feeling stupid!

Labour is out of bounds now till Thurs afternoon whilst I spend quality holiday time with my girls. [hgrin]

Passmethecrisps · 28/10/2012 20:44

peaky I did google. Not really any the wiser to be frank. My wobbly bottom always has a line I am sure - it's where the cheeks have to lean against each other. I think I am more likely to start labour by straining round with my bottom in the air!

That sounds horrid sophia! I am glad you were zooming on your way again very quickly

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/10/2012 21:02

chunky let's hope you're LO holds on so you make the anti bodies, they are a bit silly assuming all preg wil go to at least 40 weeks. This thread alone proves that's v much not the case!

detective hope all is ok with you and bubba :)

Why don't we update the stats list here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1485512-November-2012-Stats-List
With actual births; name, date, sex, weight?

Dixiebell · 28/10/2012 21:48

Sorry, actual link: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1485512-November-2012-Stats-List

kirrinIsland · 28/10/2012 21:55

Hope everything is ok detective

applepieinthesky · 28/10/2012 21:56

Not sure I really want to be looking at my bum in the mirror!

I had some really strong Braxton Hicks earlier. I started to think perhaps something was happening and panicked because I haven't finished packing my hospital bag yet but they have since eased off. Must get my bag ready tomorrow though.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 28/10/2012 22:14

Hope youre getting checked out now detective and that baby is happily wriggling around.

I'm just home after being taken for dinner by mum and dad. I had 3 courses and it was fab! I enjoyed it all yet could happily eat again.

Going to sort my bags out tomorrow in the hope we get a go ahead for induction at clinic and daycare in tues. I had originally packed a baby bag and a hospital bag but I think I'll change to a kind of induction /labour bag and a separate bag with extras for staying longer or something. It's kind of hard to figure what's best as last time I was induced on the Sun and had baby Tues am but stayed in til Thurs night so if same will need more clothes etc for me as well as baby! Hmmmmm any thoughts???

StuntNun · 28/10/2012 22:20

Detective my baby has been the same today: a few little gentle movements but not much going on. I had a big glass of cold water and that prompted a bit of wriggling but no kicks. Maybe he's having a quiet day.

OP posts:
MissMummy1 · 28/10/2012 22:25

Must be a quiet baby day all round as mine's been quite subdued today too!

YellowWellies · 28/10/2012 22:28

Stunt and Detective - looking back the only vague hint of labour I had in the 24 hrs before was baby being a lot stiller. He wasn't engaged, I didn't feel odd or hormonal or anything different. Only Jonas was a bit quieter - clearly the ''youre about to go into labour" memo was only sent to him!

FatimaLovesBread · 28/10/2012 22:30

Peaky - Witch hazel

YellowWellies · 28/10/2012 22:31

Woo MM1 cross post! You too eh? I wonder who'll be next!!

GTbaby · 28/10/2012 22:48

Saw on FB horsey n blonder have popped. Welcome to the gang!

I had a fab day. We celebrated 13 day of our son being here! I didn't even know its something we celebrate in my culture. Lol mil told us about it Friday ( which caused slight issues with DH) but anyway. We had all the women in the family over to see the little one and had some yummy food n caught up with everyone.

Right. Better get reading to catch up!
