FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 21:28

Had to lower the tone didnt you mrs as if the tone could get much lower

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 21:34

Night ladies. My exhausted self is begging me for sleep.

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 21:36

Ha ha...pot calling kettle, Frustrated (and don't waste that piss!).

Night night. I will be dozing again soon. Stupidly long day today.

bringonthetrumpets · 22/10/2012 21:47

Hahah oh my.

Yeah, round ligament pains are usually happen on one side or the other. They tend to happen during sneezing, coughing, rolling over, or actions like getting out of a car, bending over and standing up quickly, etc. As long as the sharp pains aren't constant, there isn't any bleeding, you're not vomiting or having a fever....chances are that they're RLP. So common, and they will probably happen from now until you have the baby.

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 21:54

Well, that's something to look forward to! And that's exactly the situations when they happen. Good to know what they are.

Seeing the nurse tomorrow so can hopefully get some reassurance there. Must stop asking Dr Google.

Thank you, trumpet. :-)

peardrop2 · 22/10/2012 22:19

Frus I know I know... I feel mean even whispering that I lack ms :-( I'm sorry that it can't be shared out in equal amounts so that everyone only has a little to cope with!

Hah hah your wee conversation just reminded me that I dropped sample in Midwifes toilet and put the wrong lid on the wrong sample (was given two, one had sand to preserve wee and I think I buggered it up by putting the wrong top back on...ooops). Must remember to take wee sample and notes with me on Thursday...so going to forget!!

bringonthetrumpets · 22/10/2012 23:01

My pleasure :) I can just be the Gemini Bus Midwife and answer those random q's.

Haha pear! You are a very lucky lady to have skipped this small curse called morning sickness. I think pregnancy karma is just catching up with me because I was morning sickness-free with my first two! Not even a queasy feeling with those two monsters. This kiddo is either 1. a girl or 2. going to be a sweet little pain in the a**. Enjoy this easy time!

peardrop2 · 23/10/2012 02:57

bring do you think it's more likely I am having a boy then? Or are you just saying that because you had no ms with your DS so now you think yours might be a girl? I can't wait to find out in January!! I've just discovered that two of my friends who're giving birth in the next few months are not using our preferable names so I'm very happy about that -although we will probably change our minds in 7mths anyway!! Has anyone else decided on names yet? And who's going to find out gender?

10 days

peardrop2 · 23/10/2012 02:58

Hah hah 10 weeks not days...doh

peardrop2 · 23/10/2012 03:30

Forgot to say that I had a bit of a drama at work today. My nosey colleague was in the office and my phone was lit up on my desk showing all my baby Apps Blush I think she saw!!! Complete nightmare as she has the biggest mouth and will tell everyone! She started to ask me what model my iPhone was which was odd.... Urrrrr such a nightmare as she never ever comes in my office normally :-(

peardrop2 · 23/10/2012 03:32

I wouldn't normally mind so much but my job is at risk at the moment so I'm worried my boss will find out before I get to tell him. I've just emailed one of those family rights places to find out what people do when they're made redundant before the 25th week.

Peardrop please go back to sleep :-(

bringonthetrumpets · 23/10/2012 04:32

Ha, yes pear do go back to sleep! And have a protein snack before you do :)

No clue if it means a boy for you, sorry. I'm just going by my own experiences with the boys and how completely different I feel with this one. Sorry to hear about work stress. Hopefully she keeps her mouth shut and is genuinely interested in your phone and not the apps.

We're starting a list of names and we're not finding out until the birth-which is going to be so hard at the 20 week scan! Must stay strong, must stay strong...

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 07:42

In a way you're better protected when pregnant as any redundancy would have to be exceptionally water tight so there was no chance of a discrimination claim. Is it worth getting in there first? Can you tell HR but not your boss?

Good luck with that and the nosey cow anyway. xx

I have no choice but to tell as I can't have any time off for appointments without work approval. So once I have a date for the midwife my boss will need telling. Good job I'm off at the moment to go to see the nurse really.

Working so far from home doesn't help as it limits me to appointments at either end of the working day which could be a pain!

How is your pregnancy seemingly going so fast, Peardrop, and mine so slow?!

peardrop2 · 23/10/2012 08:06

MrsBri I have the same problem with work and distance... Even worse my MW only sees you on Thursdays...how unpractical is that! I too think it might be safer if I tell the boss sooner rather then later but I still want to wait till 12 weeks. We don't have an HR department sadly. And trust me everyday is dragging :-( especially when I get up for the loo at 3am and then fail to return to sleep!!

bringonthe wow you have will power ;-) I'm sure there will be a few of you who can help each other go past the 20 week mark! Hats off to you!!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 23/10/2012 08:09

Haha I'm not waiting, I will be begging them to tell me.

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 08:14

God, that's not good. I'm doing ok for night loo visits at the moment, thank god. I'm back at work tomorrow though, so watch it all go to pot from here on in!

Your dates seem to pass fast for me! I'm only at 5+3 and really need some reassurance. Any idea how I can swing an early scan?! Boobs don't hurt as much today, though still itch and are huge. Bit more stretching sensation 'below' too.

Just want to know all is OK really. :-/ Wonder if it's easier when you've done it before?!

And we shall see how awkward my appointments get in due course. Can't be as awkward as yours, I hope!

I would tell your boss though, definitely.

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 08:15

We want a surprise, we think. See how that goes at the 20 week scan!

Thundernonk · 23/10/2012 08:43

....and breathe, nic.... Remember calm thoughts.....

OP posts:
MrsBri · 23/10/2012 08:55

I'm not a calm thoughts kind of person, sadly :-( Hate having no control over this.

Maybe I should remove myself from MN where seemingly every third post mentions miscarriage. Not doing me any good at all.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 23/10/2012 08:59

Just want to know all is OK really. :-/ Wonder if it's easier when you've done it before?!. No nic it really isn't any easier. you're just more resigned to the fact that no matter how much you beg them, they won't give you an early scan.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 23/10/2012 09:03

nic come and join me with my head in the sand. I'm not sure if staying away helps since the thought/worry is already there. But you can talk about your worries here.

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 09:09

Thank you, Frustrated :-) It is nice to have people to talk to, but it feels like I'm surrounded by bad and good! I know I need to try to relax more. I think I'd feel better if I had more symptoms than I do.

Though bearing in mind I'm crying over nothing right now, I am clearly hormonal! First sign of bonkers hormones today, actually. The app does say that I may get more symptoms this week. Think I found out too early!
