I wouldn't worry about taking a sample then nic, just from personal experience if they want your pee they'll ask for it, or they'll give you a sterile pot for next time/ to drop in or whatever.

At my gp appt she just did blood pressure and weight. At my mw booking in she took blood and gave me a pot to take a midstream urine sample (NOT a mystery urine sample, as I thought she said) but asked me to do it after bath or shower to avoid any contamination by other bacteria as she put it. She's given me another pot for fmu for my next appt which will be after the scan all being well (Wink fash)

fashion you come back here and get back on this bus

Anyone else found that they are standing and walking different?
I'm not entirely sure that because its my 3rd that my body has gone into pregnancy mode very early tell me it's not just me?

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 18:46

If standing/walking differently includes the fact that I am mostly sitting or lying, then yes.

Can feel rolls of fat and boobs today. Feel lardy. Yuk.

Thanks fashion.

So true, MrsBri!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 18:51

My back has that arch thing going on, especially towards the end of the day.

thund if you're not going to move what do you expect? Wink remember to move just enough so you don't get bedsores.
I think I successfully managed to look lardy at work today. Grin odd that I'm pleased by that. With dd1 I looked lardy until gone 6 months. I was not pleased then

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 19:09

Yeah you may have a point there frus. Lots of food + no movement = getting fat. Simples.

Seriously though I don't think I am walking or standing differently, so maybe it is cos of number 3? I have more crampy feelings today, uterine stretching I expect.

OP posts:
MrsBri · 22/10/2012 19:32

Uterine stretching isn't pleasant, is it? I've had the pulling sensation on the right hand side a fair bit today. Especially when I bend down or curl up on the sofa.

I'm not walking funny yet. Give me a few weeks though!

fashionvictim · 22/10/2012 20:06

thanks Thundercat Wink

Don't know what I started with the samples, eek!

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 20:17

It was good advice, fash, and we all love talking about weeing in a pot of course.

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 20:29

I had enough trouble weeing on a stick, how the hell am I supposed to get it in a diddy pot?

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 20:36

How about the mystery wee then? Have a shower, work up enough bladder action to do a big wee, and then wee in a tiny pot, but not the first bit, ohhhh no. This has to be just the middle bit. THE MIDDLE BIT

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 20:38

Is the middle bit the bit where you think "am I still weeing?!" Or is that too late?

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 20:43

No, you know you're still weeing because you can feel it on your hand ....if I'm doing it right of course.

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 20:47

Well obviously you know you're still weeing, but it's the huge wee where you just keep on weeing.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 20:47

Although guaranteed if you need to get it in a pot it dries up an you can't do more than dribble.

bringonthetrumpets · 22/10/2012 20:50

Haha yes, Frus walking and just general normal movement seems impossible these days. Laying down and eating doing nothing is way more doable.

Bri probably round ligament pains. They are mighty not fun.

Why not just wee in a cup and then pour it in the pot then burn the cup?

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 20:53

I wondered about that with the cup. Or even a funnel. But I wondered if the pot was sterile or something?

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 20:59

Not after you've wee-d in it thund

peardrop2 · 22/10/2012 21:06

MrsBri I've not had any ms and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow Blush seriously sore boobs though!!

bringonthetrumpets · 22/10/2012 21:07

I know it's a save on space and resources to give the teeny tiny little pots, but seriously, how on earth do you wee in them without weeing all over your hand, your leg, the toilet seat, drop the pot in the toilet because it's so tiny....then screw the top back on and give it to someone? Especially when you have a giant bump by the end of the pregnancy and have to somehow aim blindly whilst peering over the top of your bump....Hmm.

I remember those days all too well.

Thundernonk · 22/10/2012 21:10

Hmm frus

OP posts:
MrsBri · 22/10/2012 21:17

This is why I PIATH (piss in a tealight holder) and pour into a pot. Maybe I should have kept that 'helmet' that Clearblue gave to me to catch my wee! I binned that ASAP though, as there was no chance I was risking splashback from that delight! :-)

If you have psoriasis or eczema then pissing on your hands should help due to the urea content. Every cloud and all that!

Trumpets - round ligament pain? The technical term for the drawing in of breath it causes?! It does concern me, but I suppose if there wasn't growth there wouldn't be pain, no?

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 21:18

That's because I've got your share as well as mine pear Grin and I am positively green with envy.

thund [innocent emoticon]

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 21:19

And don't mention sore boobs...mine are an utter nightmare and seem to be vying to outdo Jordan at her bustiest! I'm only just over 5 weeks, so am extremely concerned when they'll stop expanding.

And, Pear, you should be lucky you don't have itchy nipples, as mine are once again going for it tonight. Arrrghhhhhhhhhh!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 22/10/2012 21:21

If you have psoriasis or eczema then pissing on your hands should help due to the urea content. Every cloud and all that! darn it mrsbri I have eczema on my face, so weeing on my hands isn't going to help. I refuse to consider the possibility (or practicalities) of weeing on my face. Can't bend that far for a start
