I will :-) I'm just a natural worrier!

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 20:27

Yay for more scan news tomorrow :-) very very exciting!!!!

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 20:30

Can you have an X-ray at the dentist when pregnant? My sideways growing wisdom tooth has decided to make an appearance today...don't think this is good news Hmm

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 20:42

Hmmm NHS says X-ray radiation can increase risk of cancer in childhood years. It's a tiny increase but its still a risk isn't it! Oh well I'll book an appointment on Monday for next week to see what is happening. If he wants to X-ray ill just say I need time to consider risks I guess Hmm

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 20:45

Just thought that the dentist x-rayed me back in the summer which is when I found out wisdom tooth is growing sideways...surely then I won't need another X-ray? It's just uncomfortable to chew, feels a bit inflamed and irritated. Maybe it will calm down again. Sometimes wisdom teeth do that don't they?

Thundernonk · 09/11/2012 20:49

Hi pear, I have a disobedient wisdom tooth, flares up every now and then. The dentist only x rayed it once, after that she just prodded it and gave me loads of antibx when it got infected. Very normal for them to grumble a bit but if it's inflamed because a tiny bit of food has gone down the side then you'll need to get that outa there. Hot saline swills are great for fighting the beasties and for reducing swelling too....or so I understand.....

Good luck for tomorrow, nic, everyone worried but you'll feel lots better once you know. Grin

Thun oh you too? I think it hurts because its come through the skin today. Made DH look and he said he could see it through the skin now and looks a bit inflamed.

Lorelei353 · 09/11/2012 21:06

Good luck tomorrow nic. Enjoy it.
I'm going to the mumsnet Blogfest tomorrow but I'll check in to see how you get on and how many babies are in there Grin

Thundernonk · 09/11/2012 21:10

Oo yeah, that's bound to be why. Keep it as clean as you possibly can to avoid infection while it's moving. Swill and gargle! Corsodyl is good, but not sure if ok for those with child....

Yeah I have occasional trouble with one of mine and have done for years really. Mine are growing straight and three are pretty much all through, just the last one that still causes trouble, and that seems to relate to times I am particularly stressed- think my resistance to fighting jnfection must be lower or something.

When can I start buying maternity clothes? It's best to wait isn't it? Ahhh I so want to buy something anything from the Next maternity collection [stamps feet]

Thun thanks, I'll make sure I brush extra well tonight :-)

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 21:21

Also, question for second time mummy's... How do we know what baby clothes to get for May/June babies? Do you get a mix of long sleeve and short sleeve? Can they wear baby grows in the summer? Is it best just to buy from the spring/summer collection?

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 21:24

Is this too hot for a summer baby? www.next.co.uk/x50862s1

Thundernonk · 09/11/2012 21:24

Buy something, pear! This is your time to celebrate and treat yourself now! AND you saved yourself £100 by not having that extra scan didn't you? I say go for it Wink

Thun you're a naughty influence on everyone today Wink

Thundernonk · 09/11/2012 21:39

Yeah! We should all indulge ourselves a bit if we can I reckon. There's enough worry to deal with, we must try to balance it out a little bit if we can.

Whatchagunna buy then pear? Send us the link!

Jo I could have sworn I felt something the other day too! And it was definitely down front and center, not where gas bubbles would be I never get gas Didn't want to say anything because I feel like a crazy person. Only 10 weeks, so ridiculously early. Keeping an eye out for baby feelings from now on!

Started feeling #1 at around 16 weeks and #2 at around 13-14 weeks.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 09/11/2012 21:45

No pear not too hot at all. You night want to consider a lightweight coat or jumper to go with that.
May/June I'd be looking at summer clothes, but would have a range of cardies too, for when bubs gets chilly (you'd be surprised how chilly they get in the 1st few months as they've been so toasty for 9 months).

Also I have 4 maternity trousers and 3 tops already. Go for a size smaller than you are normally, especially if you need to wear now.

Jojoba1986 · 09/11/2012 21:59

For a summer baby I'd be getting a selection of long/short sleeved bodysuits so they can be layered in cold weather. I found with little ones it's all about the layers!

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 22:02

Thun I like this at the moment need a bump first

I'm wearing stretchy primemark jeggins so I don't really need to buy anything yet :-(

So frus, if I got a size 10 which is my normal size how long can I expect it to last?

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 22:04

Oh sorry I forgot to convert links...

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 09/11/2012 22:08

If you get your normal size you possibly won't be in it until about 7 months. I've got 2 trousers in my normal size and they are huge, but the size smaller ones fit nicely and have loads of growing room, at least until 7 months, possibly all the way as they're under bump.

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 22:10

I have so many questions tonight Grin

Does anyone else like a name in the current top ten baby girl/boy names and does this put you off choosing it? My boys name is in the top 5 but I've wanted it for the last 5 years and now I wonder if it is silly to go for such a popular name when there are so many names to choose from.

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 22:12

Ahhh I see Frus so that is why you're saying go down a size.

MrsBri · 09/11/2012 22:14

Thank you, all re my scan :-)

Just woken from nap. Lovely stuff.

I was saying to DH that I like Next's maternity collection tonight! I have 50 quid in vouchers for there too. Definitely be heading there after my 12 week scan (though may be in tents before then at this rate!).
