Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 17:54

They might do kitty no harm in phoning to ask.

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 17:56

Ours says they do it up to week 14, so maybe that's standard. How frustrating though :-(

Maybe ring, but they'd know your dates when making the appointment, wouldn't they? Not sure I'd be able to wait that long. But you had your private one, didn't you? Doesn't help with DS though, I know.

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:01

Oh, and I KNOW I'm being gossiped about as the stupid bitch has been watching me like a hawk, particularly when I'm having a snack, as I don't snack. Ever!

Then when I told a friend to go for the train without me as I wasn't running, well, total pandemonium broke out! You'd think I'd said I was going raping and pillaging!

I'm sure they couldn't wait til I left to talk about me. Does my head in, stupid cows. And I bet my manager doesn't tell them to stop either. Arrrggghhh.

kittykatskumkwat · 07/11/2012 18:02

It's the ds test that bothers me Nic as in sure I was told they can only do it between 11+5 and 13+5 so if we were out by a couple of days?! Also I wasn't going to tell anyone before the scan including work and I'm wearing a uniform which is getting increasingly tight by 14 wks I fear I'll be popping out!
I am impatient aswell mind as although a private scan gives you some reasurance things can still go wrong in the weeks that follow so that 12 wk one is what you hold onto

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 18:03

13+6 is the usual NHS cut off, although it is possible up to 20 wks with extra blood tests. That doesn't help you though kitty

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:07

True, and I know 12 weeks is the milestone, but I'll still worry for the entire time! Even if I feel better for that scan.

It is annoying though. Sounds like you're on the outer limits for it :-/

Once you've seen a heartbeat, the odds do drop markedly for anything going wrong though, apparently.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 18:08

mrs stick a couple of huge plasters on you heals and tell them you have blisters and that's why you can't run.
Also because you were eating a lot on your honeymoon, (all the fabulous food) it's really hard to cut back, and you are snacking healthily because its better than the crap you ate whilst away.

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:17

Maybe! They won't believe me though...too late now. Seed is planted and there's no stopping motor mouth. She is truly horrendous, honestly.

I've somehow got to get not drinking at the Christmas party past them too!

kittykatskumkwat · 07/11/2012 18:24

Nic I know it's anoying for you when your worried and want to keep it quiet but they are just speculating and at the end of the day that's all she can until you say, it's not against the law to snack or gain abit of weight, try not to let her bother you, after all it is true now, think how pissed off youd be if you were just fat Wink
Maybe like frus says try leading them down the wrong path or be talking to someone else about a night out youve had recently getting wasted

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:33

It's the hypocrisy which gets me...she absolutely slated someone else for speculating about one of her friends, but does the same to me.

I've never met anyone as bitchy and awful as her. Ever.

I hate being gossiped about, and I don't gossip either. Bloody rude.

I know you're right, she just winds me up.

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:35

Does anyone else find they get a stitch really easily when walking, or is that just me? My midwife friend said she doesn't know why I get it, which isn't reassuring at all!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 18:40

Is a muscle spasm, caused by vigorous exercise, so if you're preg, you're breathing more quickly and more shallow, because everything is vigorous because you're so exhausted already.

MrsBri · 07/11/2012 18:43

Ta :-) It stops when I do, so makes sense!

Jojoba1986 · 07/11/2012 19:39

Walking? What's that?! Can't remember the last time I was out of bed for more than 20 mins, let alone left the house! Poor me! Sad Just keep telling myself to be grateful that I'm actually pregnant. We've got some friends who we suspect have been struggling to conceive & we got pregnant first time. I feel guilty & so ridiculously lucky, even if I am having temporary issues being vertical!

So jealous of scan pics! 20 days to my scan! After that I'm hoping I can start getting back to my normal life. I won't be dizzy or nauseated & people will be a bit more understanding when they know the cause of my mystery illness so I'll be able to excuse myself from things sooner than normal!

merrygiant · 07/11/2012 20:30

Oooh, so exciting for you pear to see baby and get your pics!!

Really pleased for the US that they have re-elected Obama, and happy about the social votes going progressively too, trumpets

Sorry to hear about the judgey-meanos, frus. Let it all wash over you is my technique. There's loads I could be getting stressed about at work, but being pregnant and it being mainly a secret still seems to allow me to just ignore all the crap.

People deliberately trying to wind you up though, Bri, that is just taking the piss a step too far. I like the idea of making up some raucous, booze-fuelled night out that you can loudly go on about in front of her. Or you could ask her if she's ever done any dieting/weight watchers as you think you might have gained some weight on honeymoon!

I borrowed a doppler from a friend and managed to find baby's HB yesterday with OH. He was made up! Really lush for him to hear it, cos I've been to both my early scans on my own. Suddenly he's realising its real, and talking about giving up smoking too, which is good news.

I'm feeling really bloated towards the end of each day now, and I really hope the thickening around my middle isn't just all the crap I've been eating/change in metabolism since quitting smoking. I can't wait to have a 'proper' bump though, hurry up!!!

Thundernonk · 07/11/2012 21:11

Hey all. What a long day!

So glad the scan went well pear

I get really bloated by evening too. It's gone in the morning. What the hell is that all about?!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 21:16

jojo have you been to see a doctor about the nausea if it is unbearable? My doctor took me seriously when I told her I couldn't function because of the constant nausea.

Right I'm going to bed in the vain hope that I can throw off this headache I've had growing all day before it develops into a migraine, but I don't think the odds are in my favour as my pupils have already dilated, next stop flashy lights, major pain and vomiting and I can't take anything. Aaahhh. At least Im not working tomorrow.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 21:18

thund it's because by the end of the day your stomach muscles are tired and more relaxed. In the morning they are refreshed and raring to go.

Thundernonk · 07/11/2012 21:20

Oh that's it, frus! I never though of that didn't realise I had stomach muscles so thought it must be some kind of bloat x

OP posts:
Thundernonk · 07/11/2012 21:21

Hope the migraine passes, the headaches I've had have definitely been helped by sleep x

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 21:26

I'm full of useless craprandom information me. Grin everyone has stomach muscles, just some are more toned than others Grin mine are of the untoned lazy variety, hence I have constant B/B (bloat/bulge).

Did you know you are taller first thing in the morning when you get up, than just before you go to bed?

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 21:28

darn it, fail. I can't even do strikethrough properly now

Thundernonk · 07/11/2012 21:33

Yeah I heard that about being taller in the morning. That makes sense to me, taller before the weight of the world crashes down....

Jojoba1986 · 07/11/2012 21:34

Frus Went to the doc weeks ago & was given the same thing as you but it didn't help the dizziness so I went back & was given stronger tablets that are used for managing chemo side effects & manic episodes! Shock They do help but I only take them when needed so I have to start feeling ill before I take them & then wait for them to start working! I'm just finding that I start feeling exhausted within 20 minutes of being out of bed, even if it's just sitting on the sofa watching DS play! I do seem to be improving gradually but if I don't see a dramatic improvement by 12, maybe 13, weeks I'll definitely be back at the docs! Sad

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 07/11/2012 21:40

Georg Mendal, like Shakespeare, reworked many popular (at the time) pieces of music, this subsequently increased his popularity because audiences thought they recognised his work, and thus liked it.

also a lit cigarette dropped in petrol station forecourt will not cause a fire or explosion, and neither will a mobile phone.
