Yeah mines always been a poke/prod pain too mrs

lore I'm glad I'm not alone.

Unfortunately having had 2 kids I do not have a bladder of steel. I really should have just gone when I first needed to go. Didnt realise she'd be this sodding late.

Lorelei353 · 01/11/2012 13:03

Right, to change the topic a bit, let's talk boobs.

I'm a 32E to start with and am now beginning to come out of my lovely bras. I know I'll need new ones soon and want to get good ones that'll last and be comfy, but I don't know how big I'm going to get to don't want to spend money only to find they don't fit in a month's time.

What to do? Does anyone have any great pregnant-lady, massive-boobs suggestions? Is there such a thing as a bra that you can grow into without it not fitting you in the short term?

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 01/11/2012 13:08

From what I remember lore after the initial growth, mine didnt grow again until about 38wks. So im planning on new normal bras until then and then go straight into nursing bras. Other option if to get a maternity bra, they are measured differently and have room to expand.

peardrop2 · 01/11/2012 13:21

I've decided to get fitted on Saturday to see exactly how many cups I've gone up from my minimal 32C!! Or am I a B? Oooo I don't remember now without looking. I must be a B. I'm hoping they will say D!! Grin Anyway, I'm going to buy one nude bra that fits well and works with everything and then I will see how I get on size wise. MrsB mine don't hurt all the time, it's very on and off and somedays I can forget until I'm getting dressed and taking clothes off can be a bit sore.

I read this morning that savoury cravings = boys :-) its probably all nonsense though! I can't face soups anymore, only enjoy sandwiches for lunch and today I settled for a cucumber salmon sandwich and lime and kiwi jelly in hope that the kiwis budge you know what both from M&S.

Lorelei353 · 01/11/2012 13:23

Thanks for the advice. I'll go for a maternity fitting and hopefully they'll see me through until close to the end!

peardrop2 · 01/11/2012 13:28

Lor thanks for asking as I didn't know about maternity bras before this discussion Wink

Lorelei353 · 01/11/2012 13:30

Well pear if we can't ask each other, who can we ask? Grin

Thundernonk · 01/11/2012 13:33

I got maternity bras. The mothercare lady measured me and I'd gone up one cup size, same back size. They are not AS supportive if you're used to strapping yourself into underwired boulder-holders but I'm happy with mine. The sleeping ones really helped with sore b

Oops..

Boobs at night, athough they're definitely less sore now. I read somewhere that night support can help with future sag but that's probably bollocks not true...

peardrop2 · 01/11/2012 13:58

Ahhh so you need to go to mothercare for maternity ones? House of Fraser won't stock them then?

peardrop2 · 01/11/2012 13:58

Don't feel pregnant enough to go to mothercare Blush

Lorelei353 · 01/11/2012 14:01

I was thinking about getting some of the night support ones. It's not even that they're so sore, as just big! They're weighing me down and if I like on my side I feel like I'm going to tip over.

Lorelei353 · 01/11/2012 14:06

Mothercare website looks good pear. Good bra selection

Thundernonk · 01/11/2012 14:07

I expect lots of other places do them, I just saw some good reviews/recommendations for mothercare so just went there. I hate bra shopping at the best of times.

I know about not feeling pg enough, but went with a friend who had to pick up some baby-related stuff for her little one, and actually it was fine!

Yeah I know what you mean lor, mine were getting uncomfortable piling them up to lie on my side! The night ones I got are like a soft crop top and they're lovely. Make me feel less fat as well somehow. (and they have straps for breast feeding so if I ever get to that stage I can wear them for the forseeable future!

Frus you're so right about the waterfall cardigan look

kittykatskumkwat · 01/11/2012 14:40

You can get maternity bras from most makes, Elle McPherson do lovely ones as do a brand called milk, I'm lucky as got some bargin Elle ones at Cheshire oaks a retail outlet for a£5 er!! I am a bargin hunter though! Mine are also intermittent in feeling, I wore them at night after I had dd so combat leaking and droopage but wore my normal until birth and not at night but my boobs didn't shoot up

Thundernonk · 01/11/2012 14:46

Nice bargain hunting, kitty!

I love mothercare maternity bras! I still wore them after I stopped bfing DS! Sooo comfy! Last time I went from a 34B to a 34D once the milk came in. Eventually settled down to a smallish C & have now gone back up to an ample C... Really hope I don't get bigger than a D this time, I hate shopping!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 01/11/2012 16:41

I'm back. My 2nd meeting of the day turned up just as the midwives were finishing off, Hmm

Back later to tell all about midwife app.

peardrop2 · 01/11/2012 17:14

Feels really surreal to be talking about maternity bras before the 12 week scan! Hope your appt went well Frus!! I'm home alone tonight Grin Just me, pjamas, big bowl of pasta and catch up TV in bed...yayyyyyy

Thundernonk · 01/11/2012 17:36

I didn't get maternity bras. That is a lie.

I got pregnancy bras. Forgot the difference there... d'oh!

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 01/11/2012 17:50

thunder what's the difference between a pregnancy bra and a maternity bra? I thought you just had maternity and nursing? Have I missed something?

Thundernonk · 01/11/2012 17:58

Ohh I assumed maternity was a nursing bra... in that the pregnancy one doesn't have detachable straps like the nursing (what I thought was maternity) bras do.

Must be me getting my terminology muddled up? I think mine was called Bloomin marvellous or something!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 01/11/2012 18:56

Maternity and pregnancy are the same ones as far as I know. And nursing with the clip and fold down cups. I have my eye on the nursing ones that still have the cup support in place and the outside layer or the cup unclips. saves flashing entire boobage all the time.

Midwife appointment was long. Had a midwife and a trainee, Took about and hour and 15 mins. Loads of questions about my health, then maternal family health, then extended family health, discussed genetic conditions, I was impressed as they'd done their research (had put it on my 1st contact form) questions about previous pregnancies, mental health, etc. then took bloods and wee sample. at which point I was seriously hopping asked which scans i wanted, got given my handheld notes, a load of bumpf to read, and a bounty book. (Also decaf tea sample and stretch mark cream sample).

MrsBri · 02/11/2012 01:33

Hello! Just back from Muse at the MEN (where I was standing 12 feet from Kate Hudson!). Epic gig. Maybe best ever!

I have my midwife appt on 22nd, but can't do 1pm as I work an hour away. Need to call and change that later. My scan is December 11th, 12+5. Definitely having a private scan now. Can't wait that long!
