I was only making a fuss of it. And the sod bit me. None of the other animals bit me. It obviously didnt like me.

MrsBri · 27/10/2012 20:24

Then it's an ass. Ha ha! ;-p

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 27/10/2012 20:25

Haha funny [hwink]

Lorelei353 · 27/10/2012 21:00

I've a friend who was attacked by a donkey once. It sounds funny but it was terrifying at the time. He was really going for her.

My head cold has really come out now but I feel better overall thankfully. The queasiness has stayed at lower levels too. My list of aversions is growing which is funny - yoghurt, apples, mangoes, dried fruit... Ugh.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 27/10/2012 21:12

Lore Yesterday I would have scoffed at the idea of someone being attacked by a donkey. Now I can quite well believe it.

Your food aversions sound good though lore I seem to have drink aversions. Tea, coffee, cola, squash, dr pepper, are all on my list. Currently okay with milk, rice milk, flat lemonade and water.

Lorelei353 · 27/10/2012 21:24

Drink aversions is tough. At least there's plenty more I can eat. Mostly I want salty carbs

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 27/10/2012 21:34

Salty carbs sounds good actually. Almost makes me feel hungry.

I usually live on caffeinated drinks. It's a nightmare, I've given up the high caffeine ones, which would be bareable if I could have the odd cola or coffee. It's just not fair. [pity party emoticon] [hgrin] but it must be for a reason. Maybe I need the calcium?

MrsBri · 27/10/2012 21:42

I don't think I have aversions or cravings. I'm the most non-pregnant pregnant person ever!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 27/10/2012 21:53

Just wait mrs you'll soon hit the aversions. Then you'll feel --> [henvy] (bleugh)

MrsBri · 27/10/2012 22:02

I actually want some more symptoms like that! I'll feel more pregnant then :-)

Jojoba1986 · 28/10/2012 00:00

I have aversions too... I can no longer have: all food, most drinks!

I manage one small meal a day now that I'm on drugs & can usually drink hot chocolate. I've also found that ice cold water with a frozen lemon wedge in is vaguely bearable if I drink it really quickly & lie down after! I seem to be awake when I should be sleeping & asleep about 14 hours during the day. Fed up of this now! DH took DS to a farm for the first time today. I feel like I'm missing out on so much at the moment! 4 weeks until I make a miraculous recovery & will be able enjoy the rest of the pregnancy!

bringonthetrumpets · 28/10/2012 01:37

Had a very long midwifery conference today that was agony. The meeting was a "potluck" (where everyone brings a dish to share for lunch) and the smells from random foods cooking in slow cookers was making me feel sososososo positively GREEN all day. The fun part was that I was sitting next to my midwife who saw me trying to keep my composure and she was very sweet and gave me back rubs. I love her.

The one drink that sounds fabulous all the time is sparking water. Love it. It could be the only thing I drink all day and I could be perfectly happy.

I ran into a fellow student midwife who is 13 weeks and she is measuring at 20 weeks. She said she started feeling flutters at 9 weeks and she's convinced it's twins! Shock. She's also on her 3rd pregnancy (her boys are the exact same ages as mine) and this one was a total surprise. Imagine having twins! Oh my. She's having a scan next week to find out.

kittykatskumkwat · 28/10/2012 07:06

Morning ladies, well I have a poorly dd, had my private scan yesterday and she threw up all over herself on the way! We had to go back home and dh look after her as I went on my own as it was too late to cancel, luckily it included a DVD so dh did get to see it anyway, lovely little 9 wk bean with heartbeat that did a little wiggle jiggle which the scan lady said was a really good sigh as it means the brains developing like it should and that the moving was what she saw as a better sign then hb?! Anyway was good poor dd not great So a poorly bubs to look after, I have had food aversions but it changes everyday, what I crave one day I think urg no the next!!
Don't worry about not feeling pregnant Nic, I think the main early pregnancy symptom until after 6wks is just hunger and paranoia!!

Sorry to hear about your donkey attack frus, that sounds really scarey and nasty!

Thundernonk · 28/10/2012 08:45

Hi all. Thought I'd better poke my head onto the bus as MN forgot its a thread I'm on...

Hope everyone's ok with the food and drink aversions, tiredness, nausea, poorly children, not feeling pregnant enough and donkey bites x

Poor you, trumpets, sounds like an uncomfortable day. Measuring 20 weeks at 13?! Let's hope it is only 2!

And poor you too, kitty, with your poorly DD, but yay for the wriggly bean scan! Hunger and paranoia sound about right, it has to be said.

I've still got cramping and I now have low back ache too. And some nausea, but nowhere near throwing up and seemingly linked to when I'm hungry.

And hi Thunder. Nice to see you...come back soon for a proper visit. Are you OK?

kittykatskumkwat · 28/10/2012 09:32

Hi thunder (waves) yes I think that all sounds right Nic, I definatly had lower back ache first time, not had as many twinges this time but I presume that's because I've allready damaged by body beyond repair Wink

MrsBri · 28/10/2012 09:38

Ha ha, kitty, good to know that my body will break even more than it already is!

Do you think 9 weeks is a better scan time? I was thinking of going at 8 for mine. Impatient!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 28/10/2012 09:49

I have low back ache too mrs my back is dodgy anyway, so I'm hoping its not a sign of things to come, I can't be dealing with sciatica again. am getting cramps on and off, the stretchy ones, although I'm surprised there's any stretching left to do.

kittykatskumkwat · 28/10/2012 10:01

Not sure Nic, you will be able to see a hb from 7 weeks definatly anyway so its whatever you like, obviously the longer you wait the more you see but if your like me you'll probably too impatient, I had one at 10wks with dd and it was double the size of 9 again and you could see even more

Thundernonk · 28/10/2012 10:01

Yeah I'm fine thanks, up and down but waiting it out. Talking about symptoms doesn't really help me, so I'll just sit quietly at the back for a while.

MrsBri · 28/10/2012 10:26

I'm glad you're OK, Thunder, I was concerned about you when you went missing.

My back is shot too, it has to be said, as are my knees. So I could be a total wreck come 40 weeks!

Think I'll stick to the 8 week plan if I can get an appointment then. I get paid on 6th, so will book it then.

Kind of exciting now!

I'm idly looking at other flats as we only have 2 bedrooms and no garden. 2 would be fine if we had somewhere else to dry washing, so we'll see what's around. Not that I feel like packing / moving, but it would be a good idea!

Lorelei353 · 28/10/2012 11:32

Good morning. Feeling a bit low and totally fed up today. Getting bored of endless battle to fight off queasiness and cold seems to be worse again today. Annoyed with just feeling useless, having DH running around after me, feeling rubbish and missing out on fun things. I know I could be a lot worse (jojo I don't know how you're coping) but just having a 'poor me' day [hsad]

peardrop2 · 28/10/2012 16:20

Omg omg omg the in laws are about to arrive from the airport...eek! I've run around like a looney shopping for breakfast bits and making up the blow up bed, not too comfy to make them want to stay!! I have no idea how they will react to news today...eeeek wish me luck! I'm now going to catch up with everyone's news!!
