Also feelng bloated! Could have been huge pizza lunch though I suppose... Too early to be getting out maternity clothes again...

Hai hope you are feeling better!

welcome ginger!

cotton I think I am going to do similarly to you re scan, going to call tomorrow. Private at around 7-8 weeks and so wait till 12 is a bit more bearable...

Weekends already over, how did that happen?

Babylonmoo · 04/11/2012 17:54

Same due date as me emblossum! I feel fine. Have done 7 positive tests cos I can't quite believe it! Looked at an amazing book today called a child is born- really detailed photos of ovulation, conception, implantation and the developing foetus. Fascinating!

Babylonmoo · 04/11/2012 17:55

Sorry- emblosion!

spiderlight · 04/11/2012 19:15

Um. Hello. Never thought in a million years that I'd be posting on an antenatal thread, being rather on the ancient side and very very happy to have just the one (DS is 5 1/2), but I POAS this afternoon and here, apparently, I am! Very much in shock and rather mystified as to how we've managed it - I must have ovulated on day 28. My head is spinning at the moment, as I have lots of underlying medical stuff going on and will have to ring the hospital tomorrow and come off at least two medications, and that will probably be a rough ride (meds for depression/severe anxiety, and for very severe migraines). I've been broody and dithering for the past year or so though, so I'm rather glad that the decision's been made for us! Apparently due July 24th, although DS was three weeks early, so we'll see. It'll be quite nice to have the summer holidays to get ourselves vaguely sorted before I have to deal with school runs. DH is in shock, bless him.

Blimey.

firsttimekat · 04/11/2012 19:30

Can I join too?

POAS this afternoon and got a VERY feint line so currently not sure whether its real or not! Will be heading to boots on my way home after work tomorrow so i can test again. Maybe due around 14th July.

First time for DH and I so torn between over the moon and terrified! Have PCOS so thought it was going to take ages and only been TTC for a couple of months so think that adds to not wanting to believe it just yet.

Only symptom so far is a bit of bloating. Did have some period type pain the other day so had convinced myself that it was all over for this month.

Good luck to all.

Cutandstick · 04/11/2012 20:12

hi Recipe time, please excuse the long post. If you don't have cup measurements just use a tea cup and estimate! Put oven on at 180...
1cup sunflower marg
1/2 cup Demerara sugar
3/4 cup muscavado sugar (cream all this together, then add)
2 medium eggs ( and mix some more - I do this with mixer for ease)
Then add all the below before mixing again
1/2 cup bran (I use oat bran as that's what is in tesco in cereal section at mo)
1/2 cup wheat germ (big supermarket or health food shop)
1 1/2 cups of oats (I usually do 3/4 jumbo and 3/4 porridge but just use one if that's what's in the cupboard)
1 cup of plain wholemeal flour (be stingy with this)
1 pack of chocolate chips
Fold all this in then spoon in dollops on to a greased tray and cook for 12-15 mins until not wet but not dry.
Sorry for any vagueness!
I like them best warm and can easily put away 5 at a time with a cuppa or 3!
Enjoy Smile

esme80 · 04/11/2012 20:20

Hi firsttime! you sound like me 2 weeks ago, so ill say what everyone said to me: a line is a line! Test again tom should get darker line.

Gingerpanther27 · 04/11/2012 21:21

Hello hai and esme nice to see familiar people off the November bus :) just had slight bout of proper morning sickness at 9pm Hmm guess OH cooking isn't appreciated then..... Blush I thought they were nom Grin (enchilada's)

Hai1988 · 04/11/2012 21:39

Hi thanks for asking esme im good now thanks, still.bloated as hell tho look about 3months not 1 month :$

emblosion · 04/11/2012 21:40

Hi newbies and welcome :)
I've done 3 tests all together and all my lines have been v faint. I was so determined not to get anxious but I've caught myself fretting about the lines not getting darker (aargh!) I have felt bloated and nauseous tho so hopefully that's a good sign... I'm going to leave it a week or so before testing again I think. Still don't believe it really either!

tash I'm in maternity jeans, but that's some bloating plus fatness from ds, ha ha!

spiderlight congrats, I'm a bit worried too as I'm on a ssri - had a horrendous birth with ds and PTSD/PND & although I was treated v quickly and feel back to normal now, I don't feel ready to come off them. Am going to see what my gp says this week and just take things one day at a time.

Am noting down the biscuit recipe just in case! ;)

Gingerpanther27 · 04/11/2012 22:34

I did 7 tests all BFP and the line went from v faint like nearly invisible, I wasn't imagining things honest!!! and got darker each day I'm very anxious shitting myself (not literally) as just had a mmc in September and got pg straight away oopsy indeed Blush was going to let cycle settle first but obviously it didn't. I'm supposed to be getting a scan in two weeks even though not got a date yet to put my mind at rest it can't come soon enough as this is my fourth pregnancy and all have ended in mc :( but I'm trying to desperately think positive vibes and I even dared to look at the baby clothes that I went past with OH in the shop today :)

emblosion · 04/11/2012 22:56

Oh ginger fingers crossed for you, it must be so hard waiting for the scan. I've been contemplating a private early scan, but they are so expensive here (im in northern Ireland) I don't know if I can justify it.

Think the thing I find hardest is knowing it's totally out of my control (control freak? Moi?). Am sending positive vibes to us all! :)

wifey6 · 05/11/2012 08:53

Hi everyone...can I ask what symptoms everyone is having at this stage 4-5 weeks. I am approx 4.5 weeks. Feel achy in stomach & back, on/off sicky, tired, bloated, gassy, off tea & no food looks nice,& having to wee all the time. Keep worrying its not enough Sad
I felt dreadful in my last pregnancy (which ended in MMC) & felt great with my DS.
Can anyone offer any reassurance please?

Carman1 · 05/11/2012 10:19

Your symptons are exactly the same Wifey6 as mine! This is my first so I'm unsure as to what is baby and what is me feeling like it's a Monday!!

princessllama · 05/11/2012 10:40

Wifey- i feel like that too.
I have decided would be a bit early for mat clothes although cant wait as uncomfortable in my jeans ( people always notice and then they know you're pg) and irritatingly i didnt think i'd have any more kids so have given all baby clothes and pg clothes away- feel v sad about that and know will have to be much more economical this time. Hopefully sil will give them back? Anyway have bought leggings one size up from m and s for £7.50 and they are lovely and stretchy.
Ginger i really hope this wait to 3 months goes quickly, agonising after 1 m/c, cant imagine after more than 1.
Cotton- dr said i was 4 wks! The pg test had said 5 wks at the beginning of that week and i know when the conception was and that would make it 5 weeks too, so i think 5 wks but who knows. My babies are never never on time. (Ds was almost 3wks late...)
Bessie-i remember your nickname and i remember meeting up but cant remember any other details- pg brain. I know it will come back to me if you jog my memory.

MysteriousNameChange · 05/11/2012 10:55

My symptoms really come and go. Last week it was a lot of abdominal achyness. Now it's mostly fatigue and sore boobs, but haven't had any sickness :-/. Keep telling myself it's v.early and I was exactly the same as DS but you can't help but worry.

I don't want to have an early scan as I had a few last time due to bleeding but I was never really that reassured. 12 week scan helped a bit (that seems so far off now), then 20 week, but I didn't really feel that I might have a baby until I had one in my arms!

shelley72 · 05/11/2012 10:55

Um please may I join? Poas last week and got a positive. And then another. So properly upduffed I think. V early days (5 wks tomorrow) so finding it all a bit strange at the moment. Took a couple of days to get over the shock and only dh and my mum know so far. Just working up courage to phone dr - or is it too early?
Only symptoms so far are dizziness, being off food and feeling very fat! also have a cold so that's not helping! Due I think 9 july Smile

Bessie123 · 05/11/2012 10:56

princessllama my hair is not as lovely as yours, I am prob not as memorable. And I was having my first child so I remembered more. I can't even remember if I was on an ante natal thread at all when pg with ds (second child).

Bessie123 · 05/11/2012 10:57

Oh and I have no pg symptoms apart from being grumpy and a bit tired. But I am usually like that anyway. I will be 6 weeks on Wednesday

livismum · 05/11/2012 11:06

Thought I had morning sickness today (while walking round ASDA buying crap) then realised I had skipped breakfast (hence contents of my trolley looking I was shopping for a teenage girls sleepover!) had a bit of brownish blood discharge last night, apologies for TMI, hoping it was down to being on feet all day at work and not a sign of problems. According to LMP was 6 weeks yesterday (although I think it's more like 6 tomorrow) thinking about ringing midwife giving 2 weeks notice for booking in app but again don't want to tempt fate! Thinking I might hibernate for a couple of months and wake up for scan! Smile

wifey6 · 05/11/2012 11:15

Thank you all so much. Just me worrying Blush x

shelley72 · 05/11/2012 13:26

wifey6 i can completely understnd how worried you must be with the lack of symptoms - although you have many more symptoms than me Smile.

I too have had a MMC in the past and so I know how worrying the first few weeks are and how you look for any sign that things are ok. I hated that there is no way of knowing for definite. I can add a positive ending though - my DD (now 2.5) was born after my MMC and I had no real pg symptoms with her. Fingers crossed that you will be the same.

Right I'm off to put my name in that midwfe book. Or maybe I shouldnt tempt fate just yet. See the worry never stops!!!

SundaySunshine · 05/11/2012 15:06

Hi all, Welcome newbies Smile.
sorry to hear some of you have had a rough ride up to this point. Glad it's not just me still POAS - it's my Friday morning ritual. I bought a bag of internet cheapies so I may as well use them up.

livismum fx nothing bad for you, maybe you should contact the MWs just in case?

I'm still being sick and feeling on the verge of heaving all day and night - nice - but I can't help but feel happy about it, as I feel it must be a good sign Grin.

I've got my first MW appointment for 14 Dec (I'll be 12 weeks), so hoping that they have been organised and booked me in for a scan on that day too. Can't WAIT!!

Luckily I'm still wearing my maternity trousers from my dd (who's now 3+3 Blush) as they were too comfy to put away.

ooh and thanks for the recipe cut, I think I'll give that a go at the weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Thinkingof4 · 05/11/2012 16:57

Hi all, glad to hear most people have symptoms similar to mine, quite reassuring. Just wondering for those planning to have early private scan are you planning it for 7 or 8 weeks? My nearest place is over an hour away so I'll have to go on a Saturday meaning I'll either be 7+2 or 8+2. Can't decide if 7+2 is too early and whether 8+ 2 would be a better scan in terms of being reassuring Confused
Any ideas?

GeorgieWilson · 05/11/2012 17:47

Hi all,

Can i join? I'm 4 + 6, due on the 9th July ( I think!)

Was on the pill so a total shock but having poas x 8 I'm starting to believe it but it hasn't really sunk in!

Nice to find people to get advice and excited with as I've not told anyone yet - my dp is (unusually - typical!!) away with work for most of the week and I don't want to tell him on the phone!

Has everyone contacted the doctor and midwife already?
